Guest Reviews
- JUSTIN (10/5): - High quality cheap accommodation in Adelong.
Some improvements to the kitchen and dinning area downstairs make it even better.
Being a shared space down here these additions of 3 dinning tables, larger fridges, make the place more communal and practical They need some hooks for towels and a something like a shelf added to place clothes on in the individual shower room.
- Peter Zdjelar (8/5): - Renovations are well done and make for a very pleasant stay
- Trevor (7/5): Great stay for work will stay again for sure. - Clean tidy
Newly renovated Noisy stairs but they look great.
- Morgenroth (10/5): Einfache Übernachtungsmöglichkeit in der Nähe des Nationalparks - Kleines Zimmer aber es ist alles da was man braucht, das gemeinsame Bad ist über den Flur erreichbar
- Craze (5/5): - Convenient Could do with more sinage as operated remotely most of the time
- Stephanie (8/5): Charming and very comfortable stay - Very comfy bed, great bathroom and facilities. Instructions for self check in were very clear and made it super easy to check in and out. Room and bathroom were very clean. The building and decor were very charming and had a comforting, welcoming energy. Just stayed a night on my way to Sydney, and this was a perfect stopover. Adelong is also a lovely, peaceful town, surrounded by nature. Great for a morning walk before continuing the drive. As a solo traveller, would have appreciated an additional lock of some sort on the inside of the room (there is a security code to get into the room but an internal lock provides some extra reassurance). Also would have been nice to have a lamp in the room as the overhead lighting was quite bright for night time. Otherwise, everything was great!
- stockman-young (10/5): -
- Robert (Paddy) (7/5): - Good location. No TV in room There was a TV room but not convenient
- Anna (10/5): My stay at The Middle was excellent. It was clean, recently renovated, bed was comfortable, great value for money. The c - Comfortable bed, clean, convenient location
- Michael (9/5): - Need soap supplied. Little bars of soap
- Sri Prasad (8/5): -
- GREG (5/5): A hot night in Adelong - The price, and it was nice to stay in Adelong. And I like when people keep old pubs alive. I can not blame for the hotel for this but it was a very hot night and there was no aircon (ironically, there were a bunch or portable systems in the hallway waiting to be installed. I was just a day too early.
- Kaye (10/5): -
- Kaye (10/5): -
- Henri (8/5): Good value for money - Location, price No staff at all. Self cooking kitchen missing utensils
- Peta Schiller (8/5): Fabulous stay in Adelong! - Currently undergoing renovation but still a great stay. We got the King Room and it was compact but the bed was so comfortable and the shared bathrooms were lovely. Had to request towels but they were promptly delivered.
- Evan (10/5): - Jess and the team went out of their way to make our stay Nothing
- Nguyen (5/5): -
- Stephen (4/5): - Downstairs dining room with BBQ and fridges. Big building with lots of room to move around. No air-conditioning in rooms made it very hot and affected sleep.
- stockman-young (10/5): -
- Regina Mara (10/5): would return in a heart beat when im back in the area - liked it all - great place to stay passing through - clean and kind prompt service even when the owners arent on site they answer quickly and are so friendly! nothing its a wonderful place to stay
- Chloe (8/5): Excellent location. Great comfortable bed - Comfortable bed and very clean. Good location
- Junlin (8/5): -
- Steve (5/5): - the room was comfortable the room had no air con, no chair or table and a shared bathroom
- Perks (8/5): - The bed and bedding - extremely comfortable. I kept waking up just to feel happy! Problems getting in to our room (typo with code) which was resolved after a couple of hours. Sometimes you come across these issues with a place managed remotely.
- Davina (10/5): - Amazing facility in the centre of town! Very clean Was perfect
- Stephen (7/5): Fair value , comfortable room and facilities, central location. - Fair value
- RACHEL (8/5): -
- Stephen (10/5): Fantastic place for a short stay, great value, clean and excellent staff - Clean, comfortable and well organised Nothing
- Gary (4/5): I would stay again but not when summer temperatures are high. - The Middle has the potential to be a great little hotel and it appears the owners are working to make it so as it is under renovation. No air conditioning made sleeping almost impossible the night I stayed. I should note that Adelong had been experiencing 40 degree days over the past few days and the heat had certainly built up in the building. The owners had purchased evaporative coolers however these did not really make much difference to the temperature in my room and probably contributed to inability to sleep due to the noise they made and the additional humidity.
- Kanae (8/5): - Exceptionally clean
- Kahlia (7/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): - Clean and comfortable. Room was good which was upstairs. It was a decent boarding house for an overnight stay. Enjoyed the countryside driving in and out. Quaint and quiet little town. Downstairs entry although it is to be renovated in the future.
- Michelle (8/5): - Nice for a short stay Check in was a bit hard maybe a little bit of information on the door would be helpful. I turned up early and was very lucky that Lisa the cleaning person went above and beyond and got me sorted.
- Taryn (8/5): -
- Solo (8/5): - Clean and a lovely old building. Nice location 20 or so kms off the freeway. Bed was comfy room quite small shared bathrooms which were spotless and ok for us.
- stockman-young (8/5): - Great location, super clean and tidy, easy access, half way between Sydney and Melbourne. All that you need for a night stop over. Such a lovely little town. Nice coffee shop downstairs. The bed was a squeezy horrid springy collapsing nightmare and the pillows were ironically new and rock hard and too tall. Everything else was great except the bed. Oh and the coffee had run out, and the fridge froze my food. But otherwise I would totally stay there again.
- Vicki (9/5): -
- Yvette (8/5): Fantastic location, comfortable beds and pillows, lovely bathrooms and very responsive hosts. Perfect stopover and cheap - Conveniently located in the centre of the Main Street, easy anytime self check in, lovely renovated bathrooms and bedrooms in black and white! Property is under renovation however this was not an issue. We were very comfortable and felt safe and secure. Nothing
- RACHEL (8/5): - Newly renovated rooms, really comfortable bed and linen. Great shower and kitchen facilities. Location is very convenient to pub and grocery store. TV would be nice
- Naomi (8/5): Overall, the stay was lovely and met our needs. - The bed was large and comfortable, the bathrooms were recently renovated, and the property was easy to find and access. Everything was exactly as described. I was concerned about the cleanliness of the communal dining room cutlery and crockery, as they appeared unhygienic.
- elizabeth (8/5): - Quiet and peaceful
- Rosannah (7/5): -
- Melanie (8/5): -
- Kennedy (8/5): - Simplicity, I needed a room and a bed. Room was not overdone, met all conditions and I will likely stay here again if in the area. I also enjoyed the keyless entry. two codes for front door and bedroom door.
- Darren (9/5): - Very clean and recently renovated
- Nina (10/5): - Comfy room, beautifully decorated, beautifully renovated shared bathrooms! Easy check in with codes. Nothing!
- Esteban Velez (10/5): A true hidden gem. - Jess was exceptional, and the facilities were beyond expectations, offering great value for money. We will definitely be coming back. The cafe downstairs is amazing and provides a fantastic option for a quick breakfast.
- Brock (8/5): -
- Lewis (8/5): -
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- David Bernardi (7/5): Pub style accomodation without the pub. - Good bathrooms. The room was small but comfortable. Very central location. The place is still being renovated, so the floors were bare and it was a bit of a building site. Should be nice when it's finished.
- David (9/5): better than expected very good - excellent staff central location
- Stephen (8/5): - Comfortable
Value for money
- ANGELA (8/5): - Clean, lovely old pub location in the middle of a beautiful country hamlet. A bedside table or a chair would have been great.
- Deborah (10/5): -
- dharan (10/5): - Calm village side accomdation at low cost. Great place to stay in budget. Neat clean comfortable. Been there twice.
- Malcolm (8/5): Good overnight stay in Adelong. - Comfy bed, great bathrooms and very quiet. Communal kitchen and lounge area. Room was small (expected) but it would be good to have had somewhere to put things next to the bed. A bathmat would also be nice.
- Suksomboon (8/5): -
- John (9/5): Great location and clean facilities - Clean and renovated bathroom and bedroom. Lower floor was being renovated. Quieter than I expected, but then I learnt it was managed remotely.
- Talicia (8/5): - Super clean, good value for money. My room door wouldn’t lock after opening it with a code. Maybe however I did something wrong?
It was also really cold and didn’t have heating.
- Simran (7/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): - Comfortable and value for money Nothing
- Heuperman (3/5): disappointing - The place is still in the process of being renovated. The cafe downstairs does only serve coffee; no breakfast available (yet). The room was too small for the double bed. Powerpoints not sufficient and difficult to access
- Matthew (8/5): Great location warm super easy booking and check in. - Clean rooms neat tidy all we needed
. Nothing to mention.
- Sharath (10/5): Exceptional -
- Justin (10/5): fantastic old pub with freshly renovated rooms. Great bedding very smartly done - Second time I have stayed here, it's a fantastic old pub the rooms are small but warm. the beds and bedding are fantastic. Internet is great. Excellent cafe downstairs No negatives, every time I visit it has something more done to it
- Dharan (10/5): Exceptional - Calm small scale old town. Ambience is good. Fully automated systems No attached bathrooms. Atleast dedicated bathrooms should be there
- Tracey (10/5): Lovely, warm and comfortable stay. Perfect location and we both enjoyed this beautiful old establishment. - Easy access to room. Room was clean, bed was comfortable 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻. Bathrooms were lovely and new very clean. Even though the building is not completed with renovations it was everything we needed. Details given to us for self check in were helpful including where to access heating, amenities, tea, coffee etc. There were no flannels just towels.
- Plested (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location in the centre of town. Excellent value for money. Comfortable and quiet.
- Gordon (8/5): Renovated old pub accommodation. - Clean and comfortable.
Recently renovated. 27 Kms off the highway.
Bedrooms are small.
Host is entirely remote.
On Mondays, there is very little open in Adelong.
Everything is upstairs - not acceptable to people with a disability.
Freezing cold in winter inside until you find the heater.
- Gamsby (9/5): Cheap and clean, we’d stay there again. - Close to snowfields and low price, very clean and secure. Bed was comfy. Rooms small but newly renovated and bathrooms also new and very clean. Shared bathrooms, used to having ensuite so 3am walk to pee was freezing. Remotely managed so no staff on premises but once you got the hang of their system it was fine. Would like a trash bin in the room.
- Kluver (5/5): Passable -
- Sarah (1/5): accused me of swapping/stealing a pillow -
- Casey (10/5): Excellent - Cleanliness Nothing
- Palak (4/5): Disappointing -
- Kamla (9/5): Superb -
- Kim (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (5/5): Passable - Location in centre of town Building is not completely finished. No staff- one of those key-in a code places.
- Tony (8/5): Very good -
- Penny (10/5): Peaceful in Adelong - Comfy beds, quiet rooms, excellent showers, and bathrooms. Walking up 2 flights of stairs. Only because of my age, bad knees, and not keen on heights.
- Justin (10/5): Excellently renovated country pub accommodation - Old pubs can be messy long difficult projects to renovate.
While still a work in progress The Middle is bedrooms and bathrooms are in the top 5 I've stayed in the last 3 years and I've stayed 75% of that time in motels and hotels.
Quality beds, easy to use door codes, nice linen,
There is now a cafe downstairs which has excellent coffee and croissants with local chutneys.
- James (8/5): Very good -
- Marina (6/5): Our whirlwind road trip from Sydney to Geelong - The Middle was a nice pit stop . - the Pillow and the location of the bed in relation to the window was perfect for us - it was pouring with rain but both my husband and I love sleeping with the window open and the pillow as with best .the bathroom ( although shared ) was very clean and functional the shared bathroom - we understand it is a pub style accommodation but we are not used to this - but still it was fine , and we also understand there is the renovation happening downstairs . Keep at it - your efforts will be rewarded
- Warren (7/5): Nice and cheap stay in Adelong . - Room was clean and comfortable. A bit steamy and hot with just a fan and no aircon. Building is undergoing renovation and will be a great guest house in the future . It’s next door to a shop . Eating options both in Adelong and Tumut . Bath rooms modern and clean . Helpful staff and text for operating the door locks and the light fan remote . Being constructive here. Needs more carpet on hallways ! Can hear people walking up the stairs and halls . Small bins for the rooms would be nice. Definitely needs Air Conditioning in the rooms ( and heat pump for winter ) . But I know it’s a work in progress! Best of wishes in your endeavours !
- Craig (8/5): Very good -
- Augustine (8/5): Very good -
- Martin (6/5): Backpacker Accommodation - The accommodation "The Middle" is based on a self-checkin concept and works well, including advance information. The room is newly renovated and clean. The spacious and beautiful shared bathrooms ditto. But this is all the positive things that can be mentioned. The room is only about 7 m2 small. There is no seating or storage space, for example for hand luggage. A kettle / water heater, a refrigerator and a waste bucket are also missing. There is no air conditioning, the ancient lifting window can only be raised with difficulty by approx. 6-8 cm, so fresh air for cooling is impossible, especially at night.
The common room on the ground floor is spacious and will certainly be beautiful once the renovation is completed. A kettle / water heater, a refrigerator and dishes are provided, but unfortunately the latter was dirty. Overall, the accommodation just meets backpacker requirements, but is there for clearly too expensive.
- Steve (6/5): Value for money at the cheap end of the market - I booked the cheapest room and it was exactly as advertised. Very basic but good vale for money. Everything was clean and comfortable The remote light switch was hard to use in the dark. I had to use my phone light so I could see t where to press the remote to turn the light on.
- Laura (7/5): Lovely town - Large bathrooms. The areas that have been renovated are very modern and clean. Via Booking.com the fact that all rooms share the bathrooms is not obvious.
Personal soap would be good.
- Mark (6/5): Pleasant -
- Karlene (8/5): Quiet, clean and comfortable - Looks like it’s being lovingly restored. Very clean and quiet (I think I was the only person there)
- Andrew (6/5): Ok - Cheap No staff, lights did not work ect
- Alan (8/5): Very good -
- Janice (10/5): A great location in a perfect country atmosphere and location - Great quiet location with country atmosphere All excellent
- Tonilouise (10/5): Warm, comfortable and relaxing. - Location and service. Nothing this place is my favourite!
- Sydney (8/5): Very good -
- Vibeke (5/5): Passable - Not very nice with all the reconstruction Which means everything is dusty. Alarm going off all night and no one to settle the situation
- Amber (10/5): Quick stop - Cute, comfy, modern. Great for a stop in, also a great little town to explore. I did think the bed was a little too big for the room, left little space to move around and no where to really put my suitcase.
- Arthur (8/5): Very good -
