- Yaşar (8/5): Wonderful beachfront stay with exceptional hospitality for families - Incredible location right on the beach with a beautiful garden! The hospitality here is unmatched the owner is highly attentive, and the staff took amazing care of my baby, which we appreciated so much. We also loved that hot water and a great selection of tea were available up until 10:00 PM. The only things that held it back from perfection were the room amenities. The bed and mattress are quite old and could definitely be replaced for better comfort. The room was also a bit too dim at night, and we missed having a shut-off faucet in the toilet. Overall, a very warm and welcoming place that we would still recommend!

- Barbara (8/5): klein complexje met veel groen, prima kamers, in een paar stappen sta je op het strand - het is een klein complexje, gezellig, We waren met 2 oudere pubers en dat was prima. Voor kleine kinderen is er minder te doen. De kamers waren prima, lekker terrasje, Lekkere bedden en goede badkamer. De personeel was erg vriendelijk, de mensen van de receptie en ontbijt. Er hingen hangmatten om te chillen in de tuin en in een paar stappen sta je op het strand van Nungwi. Waar veel restaurants zitten, ( helaas waren de meeste nog gesloten toen wij er waren) Het ontbijt is prima, met vers fruit, een eitje naar keuze, en een extra iets pancake, of donut. Ikzelf mistte wat kaas of vleeswaren ofzo voor bij het brood, maar dat is persoonlijk. de omgeving /dorp viel tegen, erg arm, veel straat ( strand) verkopers. Mede doordat het nog laagseizoen was blijkbaar. Hierdoor waren er veel restaurants ook nog dicht. Dus de weinige toeristen die er waren werden extra aangesproken. Ook moesten we bij hotel om strandbedden vragen, want die stonden er ook nog niet. Werd wel meteen geregeld. We waren 20 jaar geleden al een keer geweest maar qua dorp weinig vooruitgang. Ook vaak stroomuitval doordat er wel complexen gebouwd worden maar basisvoorzieningen dit nog niet aan kunnen.
- Manfred (6/5): Der Aufenhalt war entsprechen der Umstände letzlich empfehlenswert. - Die Lage der Unterkunft ist sehr gut und der Strand ist zu Fuß innerhalb einer Minute erreichbar. Der wechsel des Studios für die zweite Übernachtung wurde ermöglicht. Das für die zweite Übernachtung angebotene Studio entsprach in jeder Beziehung dem angebotenen Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis. Das für die erste Übernachtung zugewiesene Studio entsprach in keiner Beziehung den Erwartungen. Es war in einem Gebäude untergebracht, das Jahre vor der Eröffnung von Cocolala bereits existierte und bei dem offensichtlich ungenügende dem Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis entsprechenden Investitionen getätigt wurden um es auf den erforderlichen Stand zu bringen. Es sollte dem Gast möglich seinen Morgenkaffee selbst zuzubereiten – es wurde am ersten Morgen kalter Kaffee serviert.

- Marina (10/5): - This was one of my most pleasant stays. As soon as you arrive to the Cocolala hotel you will fell absolutely welcome and relaxed. Every member of the team is incredibly friendly and helpful. The owners could give you all necessary recommendations about what to visit and will help you organise all kinds of activities. I liked the room, giant bed, big space in the shower, the shower gel had really great fragrance, I still regret I didn’t buy same one to take home :) The breakfast varies depending on the day of the week + you get cooked eggs, fruits, smoothie and coffee. I was full until late afternoon every time :) The restaurant nearby - also great, had no reason to go for something else. It was super quiet at night, also no disturbing lights, which I find especially important for such sensitive sleepers as me. The great advantage over the bigger hotel brands - you get a real home feeling and personal attitude. I’m very grateful to everyone for my lovely vacation. Special thanks of course to Carola and Yara ❤️ +as a top secret option, if you’re lucky enough, you may be honoured to learn the Empompie song 😉
- Agneta (10/5): Perfekt läge med trevlig atmosfär. - Perfekt läge 40 meter från stranden. Väldigt trevlig personal som gjorde allt för att vi skulle trivas. Nära restauranger. Tyvärr många och ibland långa allmänna elavbrott i området. Hotellet hade egen generator som skulle gå på men ibland fungerade det inte. Vet att hotellägarna var frustrerade över situationer som låg utanför deras kontroll. Man ska gärna åka till Zanzibar en månad tidigare än vi gjorde för det var ganska mycket regn.

- Konul (10/5): - Everything was very nice and clean. The room size was large and clean every day. Me and my 2 kids were feeling safe and comfortable as in our own home. The beach is just 1 minute from the hotel. The Manager was very nice and helpful Sometimes the power was off. But it was in all the village.
- Janet (1/5): One of my worst accommodation experiences. - It was near the beach but that was about the only positive thing The pictures do not reflect the property. Apparently they didn’t have our booking (which I had a confirmation number for) and it took almost an hour for them to figure it out. The breakfast area was run down - as was the entire place. When we finally did get a bungalow it was disgusting. A rusted out tub, mold in the grout, overlooked what looked to be an old water tank. And of course the WIFi was “down” so we couldn’t even search new places to get out of here. Had to go to a beach restaurant to get on-line to find alternate accommodations. When we left the owner seemed relieved and didn’t even apologize! Do not stay here. There are lots of other choices in this area.

Aamupala oli ihan Ok lähes kaikki tuotiin suoraan keittiöstä tarjoiltuna, mutta hieman palvelussa oli toivomisen varaa. Astioita puuttui lähes päivittäin tai jos vesikannu oli tyhjä sen täyttäminen kesti.

- Marc (10/5): Perfekt! - Sehr schönes kleines Hotel direkt am Beach, viele Restaurants in der Nähe. Alle sind wirklich extrem nett und sorgen dafür, dass es einem an nichts fehlt. Wie überall auf Sanaibar kann es zu Stromausfällen kommen, es gibt aber einen hoteleigenen Generator, welcher auf Bedarf eingeschaltet wird. Also kein Problem und gehört dazu, wenn man hier Urlaub macht. Ich kann das Cocolala also uneingeschränkt empfehlen für alle, die auf der Suche nach einer gepflegten, sauberen und authentischen Unterkunft in Nungwi mit Top-Lage sind. -

À souligner également l’amabilité et le sourire du personnel très disponible ! La salle de bain ! La baignoire tachée et très ancienne. Impossible de se doucher sans arroser voire inonder la salle de bain entière. Cette salle de bain ne correspondait pas à celle de l’annonce et l’hôtel ne mérite pas de proposer encore un tel équipement ! Les transats de plage sont quasi indisponibles sauf contre réservation payante 😟

- Sandra (8/5): Lovely garden setting close to the beach - We really enjoyed the garden setting with hammocks swinging under the trees and lots of plants and flowers. The breakfast area was lovely and the beach and a good bar/restaurant just a few metres away. The staff were great - particularly Lydia who was always on hand to help and arranged to have our shower fixed very quickly after we reported it broken.

- Tobias (9/5): sehr schöner Aufenthalt im Cocolala Beach House - schönes Resort, direkt am tollen Nungwi Beach gelegen, gepflegte Gartenanlage mit Hängematten und Schaukelliege. Zimmer mit Klimaanlage und Ventilator, bequemes Bett mit Moskitonetz, kleiner Kühlschrank mit Getränken. leckeres Frühstück nettes Personal Im Restaurant direkt nebenan erhält man als Hotelgast 10% Ermäßigung. Die Inhaber sind sehr freundlich und Karola (welche ich vor Ort kennengelernt habe) konnte man jederzeit alles fragen, Ausflüge, Transfere, etc. buchen, was immer reibungslos geklappt hat. wie schon oft erwähnt - die ständigen Stromausfälle (aber dafür kann das Beach House ja nichts). die „Mischung“ beim Duschen hat leider nicht gestimmt - entweder war das Wasser total heiß oder kalt… Die Möglichkeit von „richtigem“ Kaffee (anstelle von Instant Coffee) zum Frühstück wäre natürlich noch besser ;-)
- Emilia (8/5): Wunderschöner Aufenthalt unter netten Leuten und einem traumhaften Strand - Die Lage ist ein absoluter Traum! Man gelangt innerhalb von ca 2 Minuten zum türkisesten Meer, was wir je gesehen haben. Das Personal ist extrem hilfsbereit und steht immer zur Stelle. Wir brauchten Beratung für unsere folgenden Unterkünfte und haben dafür viel Unterstützung erhalten. Das Zimmer ist völlig ausreichend ausgestattet. Uns hat besonders die Sitzmöglichkeit vor dem Bungalow gefallen. Es gibt häufig Stromausfälle, dafür kann das Hotel aber natürlich nichts. Beim Frühstück könnte es mehr Auswahl geben.
- Franco Forghieri (5/5): - Die Anlage ist grundsätzlich schön und ruhig gelegen. Das Zimmer war groß und bot viele Ablagemöglichkeiten. Positiv ist auch die Lage: Restaurants und Geschäfte befinden sich gleich um die Ecke, und am Strand gibt es eine große Auswahl an Restaurants. Besonders hervorheben möchten wir Sebastian und sein Team – alle waren sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und bemüht Leider überwiegen für uns dennoch die negativen Punkte. Zum duschen muss man in die Badewanne steigen. Die Badewanne im Bungalow 104 ist sehr alt, vergilbt und ekelig, zudem fehlt eine Handbrause. Die Matratzen sind extrem hart und wenig komfortabel. Das Frühstück war absolut auf ein Minimum reduziert – wir können die vielen positiven Kommentare dazu überhaupt nicht nachvollziehen. Nach einem Gespräch mit Sebastian wurde zwar angekündigt, das Frühstücksangebot zu verbessern, während unseres Aufenthalts war davon jedoch nichts zu merken. Mehrmals kam es zu Stromausfällen, obwohl ein eigener Generator vorhanden ist. Das WLAN war sehr unzuverlässig und kaum nutzbar. Außerdem gibt es weder einen Pool noch ein eigenes Restaurant oder eigene Sonnenliegen, was wir bei dieser Preisklasse erwartet hätten. Insgesamt war der Aufenthalt für uns enttäuschend, insbesondere im Vergleich zu den fünf anderen Resorts, in denen wir zuvor waren.
- Petra (10/5): Wir hatten eine sehr gute Zeit und kommen gerne wieder - Die familiengeführte Anlage liegt in einem schönen Garten nahe am Strand. Der Besitzer, Sebastian, ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Er ist sehr gut in Nungwi vernetzt und beteiligt sich an tollen Community Projekten. Er hat uns eine Village Tour empfohlen, an dem Projekt ist er selbst beteiligt, die unter anderem Spenden für ärmere Familien sammelt. Die Tour gab einen guten Einblick in das Dorfleben und war äußerst beeindruckend. Frühstück in der Anlage war gut und abends konnte man gemütlich im Garten, gerne auch am Lagerfeuer, sitzen. Es gibt einen Generator in der Anlage welcher Stromausfälle super überbrückt. Zudem ist der Generator super leise und stört überhaupt nicht . Das Personal war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Wir hatten eine Tasche mit wichtigen Dokumenten bei der Abreise vergessen und wurden nach kurzer Zeit auf dem Handy angerufen und informiert so dass wir noch zurück fahren und die Tasche abholen konnten. - Gros (10/5): Nous avons passé un séjour paradisiaque, loin du bruit, du stress et des voitures pour être isolés dans ce coin de parad - L’ambiance chaleureuse et familiale qui est omniprésente. Dès le premier jour, on se sent comme à la maison, c’est ce qu’on recherchait pour nos vacances. Nous sommes ravis. A deux pas de la plage en marchant dans le sable et tout le monde est adorable du début à la fin du séjour. Ils nous ont même prévu des en cas pour notre safari quand nous sommes partis à 6h du matin et que nous allions manquer de le petit déjeuner. Nous étions vraiment très tristes de partir. Nous recommandons vivement l’expérience, très calme, simple, pour un dépaysement complet. Le restaurant Blue Sea partenaire est super, beaucoup de choix, là encore personnel adorable. Foncez ! Rien qui ne concerne l’établissement, tout était vraiment parfait. Nous avons eu une coupure de courant propre à l’Ile et au gouvernement de Zanzibar, mais là encore l’équipe est aux petits soins. Conseil : allez à la plage le temps que le générateur s’allume, et ce sera réglé ! Enjoy

The neighbourhood has enough choice of food(with discount if you mention stay at Cocolala), swimmers and local artisans(and aloe Vera too). Very friendly staffs, literally customise your breakfast based on your preference and what’s available in general. Clean room and bathroom. Detail oriented customer services as they even provided clotheslines, an introduction brochure, and a small safe. Constant communication since you booked. Walking distance to white sand beach, clear and chill water for swimming. Lounge chair and umbrella provided, along with hammocks and swings. Plenty boat can bring you to go other famous touristy places. Reasonable price as well. It’s a great choice for both short and long term stay.

- Walldin (8/5): Charmigt hotell, fantastisk personal, oslagbart läge – små störningar pga området, inte hotellet. - Jag trivdes verkligen med boendet, framför allt tack vare den fantastiska personalen. Hotellet har en charmig atmosfär, välstädade och fina rum samt en frukost som är precis lagom – inget överdåd, men allt man behöver och dessutom riktigt gott. Läget är helt otroligt, med det magiska turkosa havet och de vita stränderna som gör vistelsen till en oförglömlig upplevelse. Det som drar ner helhetsintrycket något ligger egentligen utanför boendets kontroll: de återkommande och långvariga strömavbrotten i området, som ibland kan pågå i timmar (på östra sidan är det också strömavbrott, men bara någon minut), samt de påstridiga lokala opportunisterna som förståeligt nog försöker tjäna en slant. Trots detta är platsen så vacker att det överväger allt – en fantastisk upplevelse som jag varmt rekommenderar.

Il bagno andrebbe rivisto, é proprio vecchiotto. La pulizia media, biancheria del letto macchiata. La colazione è scarsa. A causa dei continui black out siamo stati parecchio senza elettricità perché non hanno un generatore abbastanza potente per la struttura. La ventola in camera é molto rumorosa, abbiamo fatto fatica a dormire, un po’ per il fatto che con il black out non funzionavano né condizionatore, né ventola, un po’ perché quando tornava l’elettricità, il rumore della ventola non permetteva un sonno tranquillo

Il personale e i proprietari hanno risolto immediatamente le piccole richieste che abbiamo fatto. La colazione potrebbe essere piu` curata come qualita` pero` ampiamente sufficiente. Della struttura sicuramente il bagno, anche se perfettamente utilizzabile, ha bisogno di essere rinnovato.

La struttura è praticamente sulla spiaggia, quindi la vicinanza al mare é ottima. Inoltre è ben posizionata anche rispetto ai negozi locali: dai souvenir ai market generalisti, é tutto vicino. 2. Nella struttura sono presenti due punti dove sono sempre disponibili caffè caldo e tisane (molto apprezzato), con tavoli comodi. 1. La struttura non ha attrezzature (lettini e ombrelloni) in spiaggia a disposizione degli ospiti. Proprio davanti alla struttura, sulla spiaggia, ci sono attrezzature di altri soggetti che possono essere utilizzati a pagamento. La qualità di queste attrezzature disponibili a pagamento è inoltre molto bassa. 2. Quasi tutti i giorni la corrente elettrica non è disponibile per molto tempo, con i conseguenti disagi per gli ospiti (non funziona aria condizionata, manca pressione dell’acqua che quindi non esce, ecc.)

- Grace (9/5): - The owner is phenomenal. The staff are amazing aswell. Samuel and Neema were very helpful and friendly. Everyone made my stay at Cocolala feel like home. Would definitely stay here again. It was very hard to enjoy the beach as the beach boys and the maasai are always trying to talk to you and harass you. No matter how many time you ask them politely to leave. Especially as a solo traveler. The beach is beautiful but it is impossible to enjoy and relax.

All the suggestions they gave for my trip were exceptional for activities to do, places to go and food and cafes to try. The staff was very lovely and also concerned if you walk alone at night. It's literally close to the beach and I used to go and take a towel and relax on the beach a few evenings. Perfect place to stay in Nungwi. I wish I could have extended my stay in Nungwi by a day or two. Also a great breakfast. Thank you once again for your hospitality! There is nothing i didn't like. I just want to make a few suggestions. Breakfast spread can be a little more than what it was especially for vegetarians/vegan folks. Also, if the bathroom had a hand bidet. Otherwise all great and lovely.

Host cortesi e disponibili. Location per viaggiatori. Piccole attenzioni potrebbero migliorare sensibilmente la location ed il soggiorno (tra cui per esempio...posate per servirsi al buffet a colazione per prendere pane o cereali - miscelatore acqua fredda del bagno non fissato e con acqua caldo fredda invertita).....niente di "grave" comunque, siamo stati bene.

- irene (10/5): Paradiso - Il Cocolala Beach House è un angolo di paradiso, posizione eccezionale per chi vuole una esperienza local...il tratto di spiaggia bellissimo adatto sia a chi vuol nuotare e chi vuole esplorare le meraviglie del mare e a chi vuole assaggiare i sapori più autentici di Zanzibar... Consigliatissimo... Il punto dolente è il sistema elettrico con luce che va e viene... ma si tratta di un problema comune risolvibile con un generatore un pò più potente... ma serve davvero la luce in paradiso?
- harald (9/5): Wunderbar - Die Lage war toll, das Personal wunderbar und freundlich, wir haben uns sehr sicher gefühlt. Der Strand ist atemberaubend, viel kulinarisches Angebot. Sehr empfehlen kann ich Zava Restaurant, gleich rechts beim rausgehen. Ich hatte leider das Pech beim Schwimmen auf winzige unsichtbare Quallen zu stoßen. Wenn ihr im Wasser kleine Stiche spürt, geht raus und wartet eine Stunde, dann sollten die Gezeiten Abhilfe sorgen.

Hyggelig atmosfære i det lille Beach House med tilhørende have. Lækker morgenmad. Vi nød ferien og kommer gerne igen. Tak for jeres gæstfrihed. Vi anbefaler desuden den gratis village tour med guide, hvor prisen er donation til velgørenhed. Meget informativ og et rigtig fint kulturelt indslag.

The room was extremely hot and the hotel rejected to change us to other part of hotel that had electricity. It is noisy. At 10.30 pm one night, there were people playing drums and guitars. There was not water in the shower when we arrived. They didnt provide us breakfast the morning we left early although the atafd promised us to give a take away. The hotel offers day trips at costs the triple that you can dind outside

- Janine Kristina (9/5): Gemütliches Hotel direkt am Traumstrand - Sehr schöne Lage direkt am Strand. Die Zimmer sind einfach, aber gemütlich und sauber, mit gut funktionierender Klimaanlage. Das Frühstück war jeden Morgen frisch und lecker. Stromausfälle sind auf Sansibar normal, wurden vom Personal aber sofern möglich im Voraus kommuniziert, und wichtige Bereiche wurden zuverlässig über einen Generator versorgt. Sehr freundliche und hilfsbereite deutsche Besitzerin. Der Flughafentransfer wurde zuverlässig organisiert. Kooperation mit dem Restaurant direkt vor dem Hotel mit Rabatt und kostenlosen Sonnenliegen bei Bestellung. Insgesamt haben wir uns sehr wohl und sicher gefühlt. In einer Nacht war es etwas laut, da Nachbarn auf der Terrasse bis spät gesprochen und teilweise Musik gehört haben. Hier wäre es schön, wenn stärker auf Ruhezeiten geachtet würde.

- Hanna (8/5): Sehr gut und empfehlenswert - Die Lage ist hervorragend, direkt am Nungwi Beach! Das Personal ist außergewöhnlich freundlich, insbesondere die Besitzer. Sie kümmern sich aufmerksam um ihre Gäste und helfen bei der Organisation von Ausflügen, alles unkompliziert und angenehm. Besonders positiv war, dass Sie Ihre eigene Erfahrungen teilen und geben Tipps für Unternehmungen, die man auch gut selbst umsetzen kann, ohne teure Touren zu buchen. Das Frühstück war lecker. Am Abreisetag erhielten wir sogar eine Lunchbox, da wir sehr früh los mussten, ein wirklich netter Service. Das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist herausragend. Für diesen Preis findet man kaum Vergleichbares. Absolut empfehlenswert! Hat eigentlich alles gepasst, nur die Verkäufer am Strand sind extrem penetrant und nervig, hat aber mit der Unterkunft nichts zu tun! Ist überall so auf Sansibar. Einzige Verbesserungsvorschlag von uns wären eigentlich nur, dass: 1. Man sich zum Frühstück doch etwas mehr aussuchen könnte und nicht jeden Tag etwas „vorgegebenes“ hat. Hätten zum Beispiel gerne etwas mehr Fleisch oder Avocado gehabt und nicht nur alle paar Tage. 2. Die Mischer der Duschen mal überprüfen / anpassen. War dann doch schon etwas nervig eine gute Temperatur zu finden, da dass Wasser sehr schnell extrem heiß oder kalt wird. Auch die Wasserstärke war etwas schwach. Gab generell ab und an mal einige Probleme mit der Dusche, wurde aber alles sehr zügig immer repariert! Tipp an alle noch: Ist ein Gasthaus und kein Hotel / Resort! Also an einen Föhn denken!
- Anna (10/5): мы были приятно удивлены! - очень классное место! мы пожалели что вторую часть отпуска жили в другом месте, так как в Cocolala все супер! выходишь- и тут же море красивейшее! домики бунгало очень просторные , сантехника работает исправно, завтраки классные , еще бы генератор поставить для возможности помыться когда нет света- было бы вообще супер! Есть общее пространство с чаем и кофе и столиками, есть гамак и есть красивое пространство со столиками среди пальм и красивой картинкой Hakuna Matata на стене! На окнах бунгало сетки- что классно помогает от комаров. У каждого бунгало есть душ для ног после моря , в целом по территории можно ходить босиком! Пляж около отеля тоже классный! Мало отливов , красивейшая вода , множество кафе рядом , хотим отметить ресторан Blue Sea рядом с отелем, сотруднице Монике отдельный привет! Отдельное спасибо девушке с ресепшена отеля и привет владельцам и малышке дочке! Спасибо! 4 дня у вас были супер!

И гости писали про хороший персонал, гостеприимство семьи, которой принадлежит отель. И мы решили поехать именно в этот отель. Основной принцип которого, приезжают гости уезжают друзья.Так и вышло,мы уезжали реально обнимаясь с персоналом и плача..Мы не ждали шикарных номеров, золотых унитазов, лобстеров на завтрак за эту стоимость, что мы отдали за две недели. Мы ехали за хорошим настроением, пляжем, вкусной едой, приятным общением. Мы все это получили и даже больше чем рассчитывали.Прекрасные люди работают здесь.Чудесный ,интересный с прекрасным юмором Себастьян и его необыкновенная жена Корола и их чудесная дочка Яра.Помогают с экскурсиями и лучше брать у них. Какие чудесные ребята работают здесь! Стараются во всем помочь и украсить ваш отдых. Лидия,наша веселая и чудесная подруга. Саму интеллигентный, веселый, умный, помогал нам во всем. Девочки Джози, Аиша, Амида, всегда старались нам помочь во всем. Отель разделён на две мини территории, с красивым садом. Первая территория находится фактически на пляже, она состоит из зданий с номерами. Вторая территория где мы жили состоит из разных бунгало. Бунгало стоят в красивом саду. Отдельно есть место для завтраков ,место для просмотра ТВ с библиотекой.Завтрак сначала кажется очень скромным, но нам вполне хватало. Яйца, блины, тосты, джемы, картофельные крокеты, сосиски и фрукты. Всегда есть кипяток и разный чай, кофе/ целый день. Номера просторные, на улице диванчик. Иногда были проблемы со светом/ но есть генератор и эта проблема решалась. Пляж очень хороший, океан супер. Все две недели мы ходили в ресторан Блю Си. Где бесплатно предоставляются лежаки, скидка для гостей отеля на еду и напитки. Обязательно попробуйте осьминога на гриле с кокосовым рисом.Это был лучший отдых, хотя мы проехали много стран. И мы обязательно хотим вернуться.
