• Ellie (3/5): We felt like Gatecrashers - The house is nicely decorated, quirky design. We were meant to stay 7 nights, but actually had to leave here after 1 night. The guesthouse is really someone's house and I felt that straight away, it's small and an intimate sett ing and all his friends are round all the time, they were perfectly pleasant but just, it doesn't work. When i rent a room in a guesthouse, that's what I want to feel like, a guest. But in truth I felt like I was gatecrashing someones home but paying for it. I felt uncomfortable straight away, but tried to make the most of it. But on the second day got back in the afternoon and there was a full blown house party. We went out to dinner to decide what to do, when we came back the party had moved around the side of the house which happened to be right outside our room. We just decided to leave at that point. I left a days extra money so there was no bad feeling, but in truth, the bad feeling was with me. I felt completely disrespected and ripped off. We had to pack up and leave and find more accommodation at 9pm and pay for an extra room elsewhere because the owner cared more about the needs of his friends and himself than his guests. That is very apparent. Alex was pleasant enough, but really doesn't care. No apology afterwards or sorry for your inconvenience. I don't recommend staying here or even that this place should be considered a guesthouse. Guesthouses are much more than a spare room and hospitality is an art and a service.

• PABLO (6/5): Tatuajes, surf y buen café. - Alex es un anfitrión maravilloso. Nos dejó usar su lavadora. ¡Por fin una cafetera italiana! La ducha cuesta un poco manejarla para tener el agua a la temperatura ideal.

• Shannon (1/5): Bad - We showed up at 6pm and no one to welcome us and no reception, really bad feeling… found a neighbour who told us that the person was maybe on a surf trip, but no way to contact him as his phone number is getting directly to the voicemail ! Really disappointed, bad experience and now we do have to find something else at this time… For the owner : please show respect to your guests.
• E (8/5): Very good - location is good You can use the kitchen quiet area you have your own garden. Its not very clean especially the bathroom is not clean. problems with flushing toilet.
• Nikolina (10/5): Perfect artistic home - Surf House was a perfect place to stay in Samara! Alessandro, the owner, is super sweet and helpful. He’s an artist and has a painting & tattoo studio in a refurbished school bus parked in his yard. The dogs and a cat is a great addition. The place is very clean and the kitchen is well equipped. Just a few minutes walk to the beach. I would definitely stay there again!
