Guest Reviews
- Cobden (10/5): -
- Kelly (8/5): Nice break , nice place to stay!! - Space, layout and location good
- Karen (10/5): Lovely specious and homely bungalow. - Beautifully presented and far bigger in real life than the photos make out. It’s an extremely specious property and that also applies to the garden.
It’s clearly a well loved property, decorated and maintained to a high standard. The open plan kitchen and dining room is a gorgeous area so spend your time in.
We didn’t even get to use the living room, as the conservatory and the kitchen diner were just so lovely.
We used the back double bedroom, the mattress was heaven to sleep on. There was nothing we didn’t like.
It is worth noting that if you bring a dog they’re not allowed on soft furnishing. Which is completely understandable, but we didn’t get that information till after booking.
It didn’t cause us an issue, but if your dog shares your bed it would be handy to know before booking.
- Susan (9/5): We had an excellent stay in this property. The kitchen and dining area was fab as well as bedrooms. - It was very spacious and modern inside, with everything we needed. The outdoor areas could have done with a revamp
- Simon (9/5): Very good. - Very nice spacious property. The sofa is awful.
- John (10/5): Brilliant accommodation - The overall size of the property, it's comfort and Its location to the beaches, forest and other attractions. Some of the cookware in the kitchen is rusting, which us not particularly safe for the cooking of food.
The main tv in the lounge was a bit problematic with constant buffering.
- Stephanie (7/5): Beautiful surroundings and a generally lovely place to stay. Quiet and peaceful with very comfy beds. - The property was well appointed and very spacious. Great parking facilities and beautiful surroundings. The kitchen had everything we needed and was beautifully done, as were the bedrooms and bathrooms. The beds were extremely comfortable. The lounge is not particularly inviting, cold and the dark walls make it feel uncomfortable. The sofas were positioned in such a way that it didn’t invoke a togetherness kind of feeling. The L shaped sofa was quite frankly awful. Lumpy, very low to the ground and extremely uncomfortable to sit on. We spent most of the time in the conservatory as the seats were comfier, and when the sun shone it was beautiful in there. Some extra lamps in the conservatory would be beneficial.
The cleanliness of the place overall was great, but we found a few issues on closer inspection. Behind the toaster was loads of crumbs as if the cleaners hadn’t even pulled it away from the wall to clean behind it. The shower tray in en suite of main bedroom by conservatory didn’t drain very well and when I pulled the filter out of the drain in the shower tray it was full of hair. This was pretty disgusting and the cleaners really need to look at this. It should be cleaned between each visit. You may want to look at the drainage too, a clog of hair would no doubt be causing slow draining of water whilst showering. The toilet seats tended to move, so we would recommend looking at slightly better quality of fittings for the toilets.
We also noted that there were ants on the kitchen floor by the dining table, they seemed to be coming in by the French windows.
- Kerry (8/5): - Great size for large families or grown children.
- Galin (10/5): Perfect place , perfect location, very clean definitely will come again. - Everything!!!
- DEBRA (10/5): -
- Nicola (10/5): -
- JOHN (10/5): - Excellent property well positioned for days out. Very clean and well presented and decoration throughout was very good too. Bedrooms perfect and comfortable as was pretty much everything else.
- Denise (10/5): Gorgeous property for a group to enjoy time together - It was perfect
- Elizabeth (9/5): Our stay was most enjoyable as the bungalow was in a great location for pub grub, take away, beaches and lavender fields - It was spacious and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen and utility room. Nice bathrooms and plenty of hot water. The garden- we were not able to play on the grass area until we had cleared at least 10 piles of dog poo. There was also dog poo on the gravel patio and 2 bags of poo in the corner. Unfortunately this really let the property down.
- stephen (9/5): - Clean and bright. Really lovely place. Wood burner. Very spacious Pot hole road.
Bed.
- Melanie (10/5): The house was very clean, spacious comfortable and great for 2 family’s - Great space
Comfortable beds The only complaints would be
Lack of glasses, beer, champagne flutes, especially at Christmas.
We did take our own saucepans, baking trays, if we hadn’t it would have been very difficult to cook a large roast/ Christmas dinner with pans provided.
- Richard (10/5): Large bungalow with a cosy modern interior - Lots of space, very comfortable. Really appreciated the Christmas tree the owner had put up, was a nice touch. Is a very nice property. The big sofa had seen better days, other than that nothing really.
- Morris (9/5): Great l property for a big family stay . Neighbours friendly and decent location. - Large spacious and homely every room had a warm feel to it . Nothing not to like
- Charlotte (8/5): Lovely stay, warm host, couple of suggestions x - Host was very amenable, welcomed with biscuits and basic supplies which was a lovely touch. Also very hospitable that he allowed us a later check out time, that was brilliant. The house is large with brilliant facilities, nice decor and decent sized rooms. Lovely quiet area and close to the beach. The heating seems to either be full blast or cold, it was very difficult to get the temperature right which was a bit of a worry with having our baby and toddler with us. There were also parts which weren't very clean, its a big house so its understandable. But there were areas that looked like maybe as they'd not been used by the previous guest were just left, which meant they were dusty and had cobwebs. There was also mouldy pumpkins left rotting in the garden, we didnt necessarily use the garden being November but we still used the garden for the dogs and that wasn't a nice addition. I'd also like to add that the host made it very clear that dogs shouldn't go on the soft furnishings, which we abided by. However, that sofa is the worst thing I've ever sat on. It was so lumpy and uncomfortable, it must be so many years old it was genuinely horrendous. I was shocked they wouldn't allow dogs on that sofa, its near about ready for the tip. I was jealous of my dogs in their dog bed, that'd be far more comfortable!
- Yannick (10/5): We enjoyed the property as it offers spacious rooms and open kitchen and everything was nicely laid out. We will definit - Nothing to say but very spacious and exceptional place. We didn’t dislike anything about the property. The street when we drive in has lots of pot holes only that we dislike.
- Hasitha (9/5): -
- Carol (8/5): A good location for our group. Comfortable bungalow and well equipped. - Being a three generation group, it was good to be able to eat together.
Plenty of hot water.
Good amount of storage
Spacious parking area for our 3 cars Maybe one more easy chair in the lounge to accommodate all 8 of us.
The wonky toilet seat! Just needs tightening, but we obviously didn’t have any tools available
- Robertson (10/5): The owner responded very quickly. The decor and facilities were to a high spec. It was just very comfortable and we love - We felt that this property had everything and more. It was very comfortable and my father in law, who struggles with walking. Found it easy to get around. The layout was great! The main road leading up had lots of pot holes
- Becky (10/5): Beautiful home away from home - spacious and well-equipped. We hope to return! - We had a truly lovely, extremely comfortable stay. Property looked just like the pictures (not always the case). Beds comfy, very well-equipped kitchen including cleaning products, teas and coffees and coffee machine etc. Towels large and soft, log burner in lounge was a nice touch and we enjoyed that of an evening (can buy logs at Lidl just up the road). Great info in welcome book and great location for beaches, town, lots of local places to visit. So much space, perfect for our 3 generations to enjoy on our family trip. Quiet road but close to local towns. Lots of parking space. Water pressure great and showers very spacious. Loved our stay but just a few 'even better ifs' :-) Lock box was a little tricky but not too problematic. Could do with a dustpan and brush, maybe small bottles of toiletries in bathroom and heating instructions for even greater comfort. Blinds didn't totally block the light - not so bad in October, would be an issue potentially during brighter summer days. Gutters needed a clean and were dropping moss by front door. Toilet seat fittings could do with a tighten up.
- BESTWICK (10/5): A great family space and enjoyed by all. thank you. - The spaciousness of the bungalow is first class.
The facilities, everything you could want and more.
Very clean, ideal location, quiet and relaxing. Absolutely nothing!!!!
- Simon (9/5): -
- Suzanne (9/5): -
- Carl (9/5): Perfect for our short family break. - Bungalow was perfect for short holiday with our 90 year old mother.
Spacious, clean and very well appointed with great outside space.
- Leo (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful - Loved the spacious, well designed rooms with lots of homely touches! Washing machine, laundry room, conservatory, as well as the large lounge stocked with board games and huge wrap around garden! Nothing negative, it’s brilliant!😁
- leisa (10/5): Perfect in every way! - Everything Nothing not to like
- Tracey (8/5): Lovely clean, modern & spacious Bungalow! - Location was good just around the corner from a Lidl supermarket and Norfolk Lavender. Not far from the North or South beaches.
The interior of the bungalow was very good, clean, modern and with good facilities in the kitchen.
Good sized dining table seating 6 comfortably. Nice spacious lounge. Reasonably large kitchen and breakfast island. 3 double bedrooms with 2 en-suite. 1 double bedroom next to family bathroom. I x Twin room. Large garden area in 2 sections.
Large undercover area runs along the side of the property, which includes a hose for getting rid of sand and hosing dogs down.
Pub down the road Bushel & Strife serving from 12.00 lunch onwards; good sandwiches on offer.
The bungalow is on an unmanned road, very private and felt safe. The outside area of the property lets it down in our opinion. Very basic outdoor furniture, low level coffee table which unfortunately didn’t lend itself to outside eating, even though there was a BBQ. However, for us the bigger issue; there was absolutely no shade on offer, not even a small parasol. Unfortunately for us, this was one of the hottest weekends and it was impossible to sit on the gravel patio area for any length of time without some shade!
Beyond the gravel patio area is a large grassed area but not secure for dogs! We set up a makeshift barrier so no risk of our very obedient dog getting out, but you would need to watch your dog/s if taking them. A small gate would correct this.
We did have a problem with the front door not locking but the emergency contact came out very quickly to review the issue and we used the side door after that as it wasn’t fixed while we were there.
- Jonathan (8/5): Very good - Great facilities. Very handy base for visiting places. TV reception very poor a lot of the time.
- Mike (9/5): Nice location for a family beach holiday - This is a good location for a family group, we were 7. Not far from the beaches and close to a supermarket. Plenty of space, very clean. It was nice to have a wood-burner. The host wasn't on-site but answered messages quickly. There was no shower gel in the bathrooms.
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - Very modern, nicely refurbished and very comfortable. Would definitely rebook in the future. Only two minor issues….Little or no TV reception on the evenings we chose to stay in. No gate on one of the side entrances and no fence at the back of the property; would not be secure for dogs with no recall.
- Angela (8/5): Lovely bungalow but garden Not secure - Great place to stay, lovely bungalow with everything you need.
Don’t judge a book by its cover!! Inside it’s huge and decorated to a high spec.
We all loved our stay. The garden is NOT secure in any way for dogs, ours escaped at the bottom through the trees. And can get from back to front on the right hand side.
Also would be great if could supply slightly larger bath towels 🙃
- Lauren (8/5): Great location, spacious and well equipped - Very spacious and well equipped house in a good location. Perfect for visiting the Snettisham spectacular! Parking available on the drive for 3 cars.
- Magdalena (9/5): Superb -
- Darren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jodi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): A home from home! - We had a lovely new years break here, the property is located up a quiet street, spacious, lots of garden space, although important to note at present its not secure for dogs so if you have a dog that can be a flight risk its worth noting. The property has a large enclosed porch which was so useful for kicking off muddy/sandy boots & cleaning the dog down. We spent so much time in the kitchen around the kitchen island, such a cosy place to be for all the family. The owner’s have made sure you want for nothing and you can find everything you need, from washing up liquid to Tupperware. Very homely indeed! The location is a short 5 minute walk to Norfolk Lavender, which has a fab cafe, farm shop and a soft play for the kids, and in the opposite direction a 5 minute walk to the Lidl supermarket. The local beach is around a 20 minute walk, lovely beach for walking the dog on, theres a well equipped park, skate park and shops in the village centre also. To be honest we cant wait to book to go back! Great base for exploring north Norfolk. Absolutely nothing!
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - A great stay and finished to a lovely standard- I had a great stay. This may have been on the description but worth noting the garden is not secure from the road but it’s very quite and only really to note if you have a dog
- Jessica (10/5): Beautiful house, lovely stay! - Really lovely property, very home from home! Lots of extra touches and has most things you’d need. The hosts were really helpful too with any queries we had.
Highly recommend! We hope to stay again in the near future :-) The only thing we can think of that would improve the property would be for the garden to be enclosed for dogs/children to play in. :-)
- Caroline (9/5): Comfortable, relaxing and well worth a repeat. - Just very very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Location great - very quiet. Can’t think of a negative. If I had to think of a negative it would be lack of mood lighting in lounge. Either very dark or really bright. Dimmer switch would be great. Apart from that - it was fab.
- Amanda (10/5): We had the most relaxing Christmas stay with family and nothing was an effort at this property. Will definitely conside - The property was excellent. Beautifully decorated and a really comfortable house. The house itself is well equipped and has everything for either a long or short stay. Well located with everything only a short distance away. A real home from home. The owners have really put thought into what you may want from a holiday stay with some personal touches. Nothing really to not like.
