Guest Reviews
- Lydia (1/5): HORRIFIC - The host totally ignored all of our correspondence and didn’t give us the code to get in! We contacted them on multiple occasions and they ignored us and then blocked our numbers. We had to book a hotel nearby last minute and now are £365 out of pocket. Totally scandalous and should not be allowed. Definitely do NOT recommend. Also, for what it’s worth, the area is very rough and in no way home to an ‘Urban Chic Hideaway’. Please save your money!! Area is horrific, host ignored all of our correspondence, had to book somewhere else as we couldn’t even get into the property without a code (which the host failed to provide)!!
Scammers - truly hope we get our money back. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
- Richa (1/5): diabolical, unfriendly staff, don’t recommend! - Nothing. I can’t even comment because i was unable to get into the property. The owner was really unhelpful also (see pictures) everything, especially how rude the owner is
- Michelle (2/5): Very poor - we stayed in this house 3 days....5 people 3
adults 2 kids...we first arrived to see the
cheapest of sofa in sitting room.....when u sat

box ...then the next day to be told an electrician
was to call @ 11 that morning to fix
something....to In actual fact find there was 5
viewings for the house that we paid for as a
family for 3 days.....the landlord hid in his
car...and had his agency do all the running
around.....to be asked to leave the house while
these viewings where to take place is very
unprofessional........ .we came over for a family
break for Easter &.....this did not exceed are
expectations.....l would not recommend to
anyone to book this property.....as its up for
sale on a letting agency site.....and we where
not informed about this......landlord had no
respect to come ad speak to us....there is also
a big hole in ceiling in the bathroom over
shower.....needs fixing....you put ripped
sheets on beds....so in over all of a review I'm
sorry I would not recommend it.....ps.i did get
a refund of 60pound for the inconvenience of

- Collier (7/5): We had a good stay 🙂 - Location was OK close to bus stops to get into centre. House was well equipped had everything you would need and very clean inside . Beds are comfortable. Good heating in house also . TV WiFi everything was going perfect. Everything you would need in a kitchen also. Seating in living room are very uncomfortable and for family of 5 wasn't enough seats I think this property would benifit from an extra sofa in living room as there is space .
- Arlene (5/5): Was ok for the money but definitely wouldn’t go back , the person that fixed the electricity was very helpful - It was quite modern There was no electricity when we arrived and took 1.5-2 hours to get on , very disappointing
Didn’t like the location either
- Umera (7/5): Good -
- Iulia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vanessa (7/5): Good - Nicely furnished, clean and well equipped. One of the radiators in the bedroom was not working so it was a cold night in December for us.
- Lauren (1/5): Terrible - Nothing This is not an ‘urban chic apartment’ and should not be on booking.com.
A lot of issues but main concerns:
-Smells really strong of cannabis to the point some of the group got headaches
-Doors literally hanging off their hinges with exposed screws, can’t open/shut bedroom door
-Unsafe - no proper fire detection, stairs extremely steep leading to a bolted shut door out the back.
-Personal items left from owner/previous guests including ID badge and letters
-Broken stool just left in the middle of the kitchen
-Bedding stained, damaged and not enough linen for spare duvet
-Toilet doesn’t flush properly
All of the above along with the fact this is a terraced house in a rough area not an ‘urban chic apartment’ makes me feel that £250 for one night is extortionate.
- Musa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Matthea (8/5): Very good -
- Kim (1/5): Didn’t even stay ! - We didn’t stay as we didn’t feel comfortable due to the area and neighbour. Didn’t feel could leave my car on the street as there was a guy across the road sat in his upstairs window, when we got out of the car he started filming us on his phone making 4 women few very uncomfortable. I have an expensive vehicle and didn’t want to leave it on the street. The sign on next door’s didn’t fill me with joy either! I feel if there would have been pictures of the outside of the house and street then I would never have booked it. Feel conned out of £250 all for me to have to drive home.
- Robert (3/5): Neighbours on doorstep smoking cannabis. Not a good start. - Nice new bathroom and kitchen The location was rough and a further walk away from the Arena than I thought. Even though it had a new bathroom and kitchen, everything else is of a very poor standard. Plaster peeling off the walls, clocks on wall that don’t work, worktops not finished with edging strip, screws in the bedroom wall, kitchen bin with broken lid, no sharp knives in the kitchen, no toilet roll in bathroom and only 3 tumbler glasses and 1 wine glass. It also asked you to put your rubbish in various coloured bins for recycling which is great, if the bins were actually present. Overall, massively overpriced.
- Starfighter02 (10/5): Good Stay - Very Clean. Beds were comfortable
Facilities Great. No loo roll.
- Jonas (10/5): Exceptional - Location and house cleanliness
- Ali (10/5): Very nice stay overall - Clean, back garden, nice beds Stairs were a bit dangerous blinds were getting stuck no mirror in the bathroom.
- The (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michelle (8/5): Comfortable and clean - Property was clean and tidy. Beds were very comfortable too. Quite close to amenities like Morrisons and Lidl. The area appears a little ‘sketchy’, but we didn’t have any problems at all.
- Josie (4/5): Wouldn't stay again - Not a lot to be honest! Location was quiet and the shower was ok. I'm not one to write reviews like this, however this is obviously a money maker with little to no care taken over it. I made a list of things my mum and noticed. It was fine for the night but I would not book again and I'd look elsewhere if I were you.
Small bath towels - wouldn't go round most people
No mirror in bathroom
No bedside light in double room
No iron (empty box)
No sharp knives at all
Under stairs locked so no access to ironing board etc - tried to unlock but no joy
No tea towel
Watered down washing up liquid
Weird lumpy pillows of which there are only 3 in the double room
Sofa is awfully uncomfortable so I can't imagine it being much better as a bed
Toilet seat doesn't fit properly
Toilet doesnt flush properly
- Rutendo (1/5): Very bad - The property was so dirty and the beds and bathroom not cleaned. It seemed like someone had used it and it was not cleaned after. Contacted the host and did not respond, ended up booking another one and money wasted.
- Romaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (10/5): Great - Great little house prefect for group get together Some more towels
- Finlay (1/5): Horrible. DO NOT STAY HERE - The location besides that all other amenities were horrible! Upon arrival to this “apartment” the door was already open. Once we had entered we found the place to be a complete and utter mess. There was food on the kitchen side, human feces in the toilet, nappies in the bin, dog poo bags on the floor, a rather unsanitary looking wet wipe on the radiator and slept in beds that I would not be paid to sleep in. We had contacted the number provided and wait around 45 minutes for the cleaner to arrive. The cleaner took 2 hours to clean the place which had enhanced our delays even more. Once the cleaner had finished you would think that the issues would end there but no there was a power cut very shortly after lasting around an hour further delaying us. Mind you there was no hot water throughout our stay and the smell of feces lingered downstairs indefinitely. How such issues could occur despite informing the host of our check in time? Well I don’t know the answer to that. The “staff” I.e customer service are outright terrible it has been 10 days since our stay and we were promised £80 compensation for all the mishaps that happened. After countless phone calls and lies this has still not been received. I called today and someone accidentally answered and I heard them talking in the background before they swiftly hung up. They have not answered since, not to any of my calls or texts. Unfortunately I can’t not add more pictures but please let the few I can add show you how horrible this stay was for us
- Lulu (9/5): Superb - More mirrors in rooms please .would be great!
- Rory (8/5): Very good -
- Stacey (5/5): Great location, clean facilities however arriving to the property with no electric caused unnecessary stress of having t - Location
Easy check in No electricity on arrival however this was sorted promptly, no heating upstairs - only downstairs
- Christine (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (3/5): Poor - 10 minute uber from town and in a quiet location Not nearly enough towels and no bedding was provided for the sofa bed so the cleaner had to drop some off. Most of the towels and bedding were stained and smelt awful. The kitchenware was dirty, door handles basically falling off, no soap in the bathroom, dead wasps and bugs on windowsills. It did the job for one night and the staff were easy to contact but overall I wouldn’t recommend this place for the money.
