Guest Reviews
- Julie (10/5): - What an amazing place to stay, extremely clean and very well equipped especially the kitchen. The whole house is decorated to very high standard with large bedrooms and the beds are really comfy. Kate was very welcoming and had left us some delicious scones, jam and cream, milk, bread plus other bits. She really has thought of everything!
- Linda (10/5): Our weekend at Mill House to celebrate my sister’s 70th birthday was fabulous! Thank you so much to Kate for your wonder - Everything! It was beautiful and had everything we needed. The kitchen/diner was great and had a lovely table for 8 of us plus a high chair for our little granddaughter. The bedrooms were a great size and I think there were 2 showers, 2 baths and 4 toilets!
Kate very kindly provided us with milk, bread, cookies, tea and coffee and even made us a variety of delicious fresh scones with jam & cream for breakfast the next day.
It is a great location for visiting Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest, Sherwood Pines and Rufford Hall. Nothing!
- Sharon (10/5): Wonderful family Christmas at Mill House. - Lovely home in a beautiful location. A very family friendly property with spacious kitchen, dining area and four large bedrooms. Plenty of bathrooms and a great utility area We didn’t dislike anything about Mill house. A decent set of kitchen knifes would be useful, as we all love preparing & cooking family meals.
- Joanne (10/5): A beautiful spacious home I would highly recommend - Everything! What a beautiful spacious home for our annual family weekend trip decorated for Christmas too. There is everything you could possibly need for your stay and a very warm welcome awaits from Kate. Thank you Kate for the most delicious scones, as-well as all the extra treats and for judging our gingerbread house competition, it was lovely to meet you 😀 Nothing to dislike
- Chantelle (10/5): Fantastic experience, would highly recommend. - The hosts were warm and welcoming, the property was beautifully finished, furnished and equipped. We only had two nights there!
- james (10/5): A stunning home with everything you’d need for a wonderful break - 7 adults, plus my little niece stayed at Mill House for the weekend celebrating our Dad's 70th birthday.
Kate met us on arrival & she couldn't have been more helpful, showing us everything we needed to know. Such a friendly host providing freshly baked scones, jam & cream, together with milk plus a variety of delicious snacks.
We were all blown away with the size, freshness of decor and cleanliness of this gorgeous home; it's exactly as it looks in the pics! We enjoyed a lovely meal at an Italian restaurant minutes away from Mill House.
Thankyou Kate for your kindness & hospitality. We would return to your beautiful home in a heartbeat! Everything!
- Julie (10/5): “We had the most wonderful weekend at Mill House — beautiful, spotless, and hosted by the loveliest, - We stayed at Mill House this weekend for our annual girls’ getaway, and it was absolutely perfect! The property was exactly as described — beautiful, spotless, and equipped with everything we needed and more. The host went above and beyond, welcoming us with a lovely pack of essentials including bread, milk, and even freshly baked homemade scones with cream and jam — such a thoughtful touch!
The house was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the host was so friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We all agreed it was one of our best weekends away yet, and we’re already planning to return in the future. Highly recommend Mill House for a relaxing and memorable stay! Nothing, the stay was amazing.
- Jonathan (10/5): Great house with interesting history! - The house was immaculate with great views of the river. Was very interesting to see the old flour mill. Host was very helpful and told us all about the history of the house and the mill. Also provided everything we might need! Nothing.
- Neil (10/5): Lovely stay in a fabulous house! - This is a beautiful house, spotlessly clean and equipped with everything you could possibly need. The host is a lovely lady and provides many little added extras. Highly recommended, it was a pleasure to stay here! Nothing - it was all perfect

- Lee (10/5): A perfect stay. The house was incredible, as was the host. We cannot recommend this place enough. - An incredible home, probably the nicest I have ever stayed in. The home is modern throughout, but with a cottage / countryside feel to it. The owner goes above and beyond to make you feel at home, checking in throughout to ask if there is anything she can do to help. The views from the garden are incredible, with what feels like your own private river. I cannot recommend this property enough, especially if you are a group staying for a local wedding!
- Kirstie (10/5): Simply beautiful. Will return. - Kate was amazing. Her property is next door to her own home so she is able to help quickly if needed. The house was simply beautiful - would love to move in. Kate left us with an array of food, including freshly baked scones, cakes. Bread, milk, cream and jam made the scones go down very well! My son ate way too many of the biscuits!
The property is next to the river and it's simply idyllic. Local takeaways delivered quickly and the pizza place across the road was brilliant. House was immaculate and clean and had everything we needed and more. Thank you! The only thing that I did not think through was the access to the upstairs bedroom for my parents, who are in their 80s and a little unsteady. However we managed fine.
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional - The house was exceptionally clean, the garden was beautiful and Kate had thought of everything you could possibly need...including the most delicious scones! Ollerton itself didn't have much to offer as everything had sadly closed down, but nearby Edwinstowe made up for it!
- Suzanne (10/5): We have had the most wonderful experience staying at Mill House for our daughters wedding - This is the most stunning property in an idyllic setting. It is beautifully furnished and immaculately presented. Perfect for family gatherings. I cannot fault this property in anyway.
- Karen (10/5): Absolutely Amazing - My sister came over from OZ and stayed for 2 nights. It was simply wonderful and Kate is the best host. Hopefully we will stay again one day 🙏 Nothing

- Angus (10/5): Couldn’t be happier with our stay - Such a wonderful place for a weekend away. The house is immaculate and extremely comfortable. The facilities are exceptional and is in such a beautiful location. Kate couldn’t have been a better host, having welcomed us to the property, quickly ran us through the facilities. Allowed us to see inside the old mill building, and checked in with us on the first morning to make sure we were happy. And the tray of scones, essentials in the fridge and cupboard etc were very thoughtful. Couldn’t speak more highly of our visit. Thank you again.

The house has everything you could possibly need and is in a really good location. Comfy beds, fresh scones on arrival - everything just great! The owner of the property had left essentials for our visit as well as additional extras, amazing scones, jam, cream, crisps, biscuits etc. She is on site and was available at anytime during our stay to help with any queries that we had. The house is immaculate and very homely and comfortable. You will not be disappointed if you stay here. Everything was perfect!

Excellent communication with our host throughout the stay and nothing was too much trouble. The house is fab with everything you could need for a comfortable stay, each room is decorated beautifully and the attention to detail is second to none. The added touches like fresh scones on arrival and kitchen staples like bread and milk provided were much appreciated. Possibly the best booking.com accommodation we’ve ever stayed in, would highly recommend Nothing!
- Andie (10/5): Exceptional -

The rooms were absolutely beautiful, immaculately clean, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail was carefully thought out, making the experience feel truly special. Kate’s attention to detail was second to none, with so many thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. The fresh scone on arrival was such a lovely gesture, and every part of our stay showed Kate’s genuine care for her guests. Mill House is set in a beautiful, charming village, which only added to the experience. I couldn’t recommend it more highly—thank you, Kate, for an unforgettable stay! Nothing
- Peter (10/5): Fabulous accommodation & hosts - Fabulous and well equipped accommodation. The friendliness of the hosts - Kate's baking treats were a bonus and truly delicious. To learn of the history of the Watermill was amazing. Would definitely recommend without hesitation. Nothing.
- Elizabeth (9/5): Superb -
- Borrill (9/5): Superb -
- Emma (10/5): The most perfect place to get ready for my wedding. - Beautifully decorated, finished to a high standard, utterly spotless! Not one thing to complain about.
- Sarah (10/5): The most beautiful house - This house is beautifully presented throughout, and we loved the little extras that were unexpectedly provided by the host. Our host met us at the house and went through everything. The host has thought of everything, the beds are comfortable, you have everything you need in the kitchen, and the bathrooms are lovely, the garden is a beautiful little sun trap with tables and chairs. This really is one of the best places I have stayed in using booking.com I didn't find anything not to like
- Alison (10/5): Highly recommend Mill House, it’s full of character with a great location and a superb host. - A superb property, full of charm with everything you need.
- Richard (9/5): Pre wedding visit! - Stayed 1 night, before a friend's wedding. Kate the host met us and was most welcoming, providing a great supply of foodstuffs, including freshly baked scones, jam and cream! A most thoughtful touch. Loved the home!
- Neil (10/5): Absolute most if you are around that area for a occasion? - The photos of this property do not do it justice at all. It is absolutely stunning inside and out and absolutely immaculate. Kate, the lady that owns the property couldn’t do enough for us. Everything was sorted prior to us getting there beautiful warm scones on the table. Absolute pleasure to be there. if we ever have anything going off round the area again, that will be the place we will stay. There was nothing at this property that you wouldn’t like there isn’t a single thing I could say bad
- Kerrie (10/5): Exceptional - The most beautiful house, spotlessly clean and the wonderful host even had freshly made scones on our arrival. Perfect in every way! Only that I didn't stay longer!
- Becky (10/5): 5*, can’t recommend it enough. - There is absolutely nothing to dislike about this property! It is just perfectly kept and in such a beautiful location with such wonderful owners who go above and beyond and the house has everything you need. We extended our stay because we loved it so much and it was so comfortable. Everything about this house is 5*. We came in to some fresh produce/ tea and coffee machine, there’s an iron and all the laundry set up you would need for a long stay as well as a cot and high chair we had requested last minute. The wifi is strong and there’s televisions in kitchen, front room and some bedrooms with Netflix and other major apps.
The house and garden are kept in such high standard we thought we were the first guests to ever stay! The beds are so comfy the showers are hot the kitchen appliances are great. We watched the sunset from the garden. There is a fabulous Italian next to the river across the road and we went for a walk around Sherwood pines Gruffalo trail which was great for the kids and only a ten min drive away. There is even a McDonald’s, cash machine, shop etc not so far down the road (walk in 5 mins) although it doesn’t feel it from the house because of its lovely old village location and it is so quiet and safe. The house itself has thick walls and even with three very young children in the house we didn’t disturb each other through the rooms because it’s so sound proof! There is such wonderful history and local info provided that you can read in the home to help you with outings and so much to do in the area. I honestly can’t fault a single thing we just loved it. Thank you so much for making our weekend so special and memorable. Absolutely nothing to not like here.
- Gail (10/5): Perfect :-) - The property is immaculate and was perfect for our 2 night stay with friends. The hosts were lovely we couldnt have been happier, they provide everything you could possibly need and more...... :-) My only suggestion (not a criticism) would be to have twin beds in 1 of the rooms

- Andrew (10/5): Mill House - Positive, warm, friendly welcome. The house has been refurbished to a high standard, very light and airy. Everything needed to accommodate the start of our stay was catered for. The scones and jam were a wonderful added extra. Beautiful grounds to match the beautiful village. No negatives within this visit.
