- Simon (9/5): We found Glen Lodge a whichglorious - The property is clean, spacious, thoughtfully laid-out, and well-appointed, even including a guest sitting-room. Effective double-glazing muffles the noise from the adjacent main road. For us Barbara was the very embodiment of Northern Irish hospitality, always considering our needs and generously going the extra mile. She shared her life and local knowledge with us and not merely her property: it is no wonder that so many of her guests return.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - the property was so homely it was like home from home there was nothing I didn’t like about the property. Barbara was such a lady always had time for a chat and her cooked breakfast was amazing I will definitely be back to stay,
- Marshall (10/5): Possibly the best bnb in Northern Ireland! - WeWhere to start?? Well with Barbara! What an incredible host and lady! The home (cos this is like being at home) is beautiful, albeit "old fashioned" as Barbara said, I thought it was beautiful. We were welcomed at the door by Barbara with a warm smile, shown to our room and asked if it was OK?? It was spotless! After that Barbara offered us tea and coffee, this was wonderful, we reluctantly accepted as we didn't want to bother her, very glad we did, we had homemade cake and traybakes whilst we sat at the kitchen table with Barbara and chatted, we talked for a good half hour. We enquired about taxis to which Barbara said were a nightmare, she wasn't wrong, they pretty much stop working from 630pm! We were going into ballymoney for dinner and drinks, Barbara got us a taxi but offered to take us in herself! She then gave me her mobile number and said she'd come pick us up if we were stuck! (Unreal service!!) As it transpired I did have to call Barbara at 1030 with no hope of a taxi! (I was with my 83 year old dad and 65 year old friend, so walking was not an option) Barbara actually asked when we wanted her to come as if anytime was fine! When she arrived i went out to meet her and said ill just be a moment, she said, take your time, finish of your drinks! Incredible! Also Barbara refused to take any payment for this!! The journey in cost us £12.
Next morning , we recieved an absolute 5 star breakfast! Cereal, croissants, cold meats, tea, coffee , orange juice and the best fry I've had in years!
We're booking to go back already. As my Dad said "You simply couldn't get any better!" And he's right, 5 stars from us, it's like going to stay at you mums home! Nothing
