• Lisa (7/5): Nice stay that lets you really enjoy being in the forest - Great location, on site food, very friendly staff The road is dirt & muddy after the rain (ok but good to know ahead). The walls are very thin so don’t expect it to be quiet until everyone in the hotel has gone to bed

• Eugenia (8/5): Great location and friendly dogs at the lodge! - Fantastic location for visiting the Transfăgărășan highway and Vidraru Dam. The staff were friendly and room clean. The dogs at the lodge were super cute and friendly! The bathroom lighting is dim at its brightest and appeared to be motion sensor but couldn’t figure out how to turn it on brighter. We ended up showering in the dark. The rooms would benefit with some mosquito netting as we closed the windows at night and it got stuffy.

Zgomot pe holul locatiei, de la latratul cainilor. Cainii stau la masa cu clientii, iar preparatele culinare, daca nu sunt prost gatite, sunt reincalzite sau refolosite.
• Anda Motoi (10/5): A fost o experienta minunata! - Micul dejun a fost foarte bogat si variat, servirea exemplara, iar amplasarea cabanei excelenta. Mancarea in general a fost delicioasa, pe langa preparatele traditionale, am savurat o delicioasa ciorba de burta. Vinul fiert si palinca din partea casei au fost foarte bine venite pentru a ne reveni dupa timpul petrecut in zapada. Multumim de ospitalitate, vom reveni cu siguranta. -

• Dan Alexandru (9/5): Really friendly and attentive staff - beautiful location - We loved the food served at the restaurant and the staff were very professional, friendly and attentive. The location was lovely and we felt really good and relaxed. Having the room at the first floor towards the terrace downstairs, in the morning it got a bit loud from the people talking and carrying their hiking gear. There was also quite a lot of noise coming from upstairs and the hallway from noisy guests early in the morning. The shower water was inconsistent with the temperature. It was switching quite a lot between hot and cold. The parking lot can get quite busy, so a place is not guaranteed.

• Harald (9/5): Stop over at the Transfagarasan - This charming pension along the panoramic road up to the mountains exceeded my expectations. The staff were outstanding—friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. The food was excellent, and the cook was really flexible regarding orders for the breakfast. The location is perfect for nature lovers—peaceful and scenic. I appreciated that dogs are welcome for a reasonable fee, and even though there are "wild" dogs around, they didn’t cause any issues with my own dog (I decided to take mine off the leash immediately). Just a small tip: keep an eye out for bears if you intend exploring the area!
• Rüfenacht (10/5): Ich würde wieder buchen! - Praktisch an der Transfagarischen Strasse gelegen, gutes Essen, freundlicher Gastgeber, saubere, schöne Zimmer. Alles war wunderbar. Die letzten Meter zur Unterkunft auf unbefestigter Strasse. Ist aber kein Problem. Grosse Hunde, welche das Haus draussen bewachen. Verhielten sich dezent.

• Francesca (10/5): Posto meraviglioso in un luogo meraviglioso - Meravigliosa struttura, locata in un posto bellissimo, in mezzo al bosco. Ha un’atmosfera davvero suggestiva ed è il motivo per cui l’abbiamo scelta. Il personale gentile e disponibile, camere pulite, calde e abbiamo anche cenato e fatto colazione presso la struttura, tutto buonissimo e ci hanno anche offerto due liquori della casa :) Attenti a non rimanere bloccati dalle pecore! Noi ci siamo fatti una bellissima risata, fa tutto parte dell’esperienza

• Lena (5/5): A chance to survive a night in the mountains without any sophistication - The food in the restaurant was tasty and fresh. There's no road to the hotel at all. The room is extremely simply furnished. There aren't even any chairs. The pillows are uncomfortable, and the blanket is too small for two people.

Bathroom (toilet flush not working properly). Shower overflooding easily, temperature of shower changes randomly. Random power outages.

• ROMANITA (9/5): Authenticité et confort au cœur des montagnes - Un peu à l’écart de la route principale, dans une clairière entourée de rideaux de verdure, un lieu magique pour se nicher ! Chambres design sur fond de matériaux locaux (bois, corde en jute) avec très jolies salles de bains design. Juste la réception télévision qui est faible… mais on ne va pas dans un tel endroit pour la télé !

• Jodie (10/5): Alles perfekt - Alles war wie angegeben, sehr sauber und mit liebevoller Führung. Abendessen und Frühstück nahm man im dazugehörigen Restaurant zu sich und bestellt à la carte. Das Personal war super freundlich. Check in und Check out waren super easy. Man schläft mitten im Wald in einer herrlichen Idylle. Jederzeit wieder!
• Moran (7/5): נחמד אבל לא מממש את הפוטנציאל של המקום. - מיקום מעולה. שקט ופסטורלי. הצוות מאוד השתדל לענות לכל הבקשות שלנו. יש בחור אחד בלבד שמדבר אנגלית אין בחדרים מקרר, אין קומקום חשמלי. אין בסביבה שום יכולת להצטייד במזון, כך שאת כל הדברים חייבים לקנות במסעדה למטה. מאוד מגביל. המלון והמסעדה נסגרים שעה 22:00 לחלוטין. כולם צריכים להיות בחדרים. אין פעילויות בערב, פרט למסעדה. בחדר היה ריח של פסטרמה (בישולים של המסעדה למטה)

• hanna (9/5): Ein sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt. - Mitten im Wald gelegene Unterkunft, sehr ruhig, die Zimmer sehr modern und stilvoll eingerichtet, mit viel Liebe zum Detail, mit Pelargonien an den Fenstern, Töpfen mit Gewürzen und eine Terasse in rustikalem Stil. Das Personal war zuvorkommend und nett, das Essen schmakhaft, die Atmosphäre angenehm. Im Bad gab es leider einen unangenehmen Geruch. Der Satellitenempfang im Fernsehen war sehr schlecht, man konnte keinen Film verfolgen.

• Apostolos (3/5): Ιδανικό σημείο για διανυκτέρευση αλλά απογοητευτικές παροχές. - Η τοποθεσία του ξενοδοχείου είναι καταπληκτική, μέσα στο δάσος και όχι πάνω στον κεντρικό δρόμο. Επιλέξαμε το συγκεκριμένο ξενοδοχείο, επίσης, επειδή είχε δωμάτιο με μπαλκόνι, ήταν pet-friendly (με έξτρα χρέωση 10€, τα οποία τελικά δεν πληρώσαμε λόγω παραπόνων για ελλειπή καθαριότητα του χώρου) και επειδή είχε ταβέρνα με καλές αξιολογήσεις. Τελικά το δωμάτιο δεν είχε μπαλκόνι, αν και στις φωτογραφίες των δωματίων δείχνει να έχει μπαλκόνι. Χρειάζεται μεγαλύτερη προσοχή στην καθαριότητα. Υπήρχαν υπολείμματα από προηγούμενους πελάτες και λερωμένα ποτήρια. Το φαγητό δεν ήταν αξιόλογο, ούτε ο καφές. Επιλέξαμε να φάμε κάπου αλλού πρωινό. Συνεχόμενες στιγμιαίες διακοπές ηλεκτρικού ρεύματος. Ξηλωμένες πρίζες από τους τοίχους.
• Jennifer (8/5): Une nuit au calme - Séjour parfait au milieu de la forêt, nous avons fait étape ici pendant notre traversée de la Transfagarasan. La restauration était bonne, le personnel très agréable. Attention, à savoir que la voie d'accès n'est pas goudronnée. La musique/TV en continu sur la terrasse n'est pas forcement nécessaire. Literie un peu dure.

Les ours se sont montrés deux fois autour de la maison, mais vite pourchassés par les chiens qui montent la garde sur la terrasse et sont ultra vigilants. Impressionnant ! Un très bon dîner, une belle ambiance, une terrasse-restaurant très conviviale des chambres de très belle qualité pour un endroit aussi isolé. Je reviendrai avec plaisir si l occasion se présente. Pas vraiment de petit déjeuner le matin. Des omelettes et café tout à la carte. C est le seul point faible.

• eyal (7/5): A good value for one night but not for a long stay. - The property is in the middle of the woods, far away from any other place. The only restaurant in the area was the hotel’s and it was nice. The rooms were lacking in some areas but we managed. The distance from anywhere, no restaurants in the area, no hotel’s breakfast, the shower was not good.

The rating on Booking.com seems inflated and may be - The hotel is located in a very quiet area just off the Transfăgărășan road — a perfect spot for those seeking peace, nature, and a break from the city. One of the few pet-friendly places in the region, it’s a great option for travelers with animals. The staff was friendly, and the on-site restaurant is convenient, especially since there aren’t many dining options nearby. Unfortunately, the hotel itself did not meet our expectations. The property feels run-down and looks nothing like the pictures online. We booked the last available triple room, which greeted us with a strong sewage smell upon arrival — a smell that lingered despite airing out the room and keeping the bathroom door closed. There were visible signs of moisture on the ceiling in both the room and the bathroom, and the overall atmosphere was uncomfortably damp.

• Andreas (9/5): - Etwas von der befestigten Straße, über einen Schotterweg erreichbar. Sehr schön ruhig im Wald gelegen. Das hat uns sehr gefallen. Die Zimmer waren sehr sauber! Familiäre Atmosphäre. Sehr liebe HofHunde! Ein Hundewelpen “Susa” - zum verlieben ^^. Frühstück ala Card - war sehr lecker! Guter Kaffee. Wir werden falls wieder in der Nähe, wieder kommen. Auch für mehr als eine Nacht. Gebäude etwas hellhörig. Aber in der Nacht war es ruhig. Matratze nicht die beste. Aber da sind wir auch wählerisch. Laute Musik beim Frühstück. Anscheinend typisch Balkan. Aber auf Anfrage wurde nach Wunsch reduziert.

The location, the quietness, the traditional terrace with red flowers , dark wood benches, deep green pine trees all around…very friendly owners and staff…an excellent Romanian cuisine ! Cozy room and yet modern bathrooms. Greatly thankfully to the chance finding this so wonderful place on booking.com. Fully recommendation to experience all about this wonderful place .
