- Abbasali s (2/5): Verybad - No No
- Leonardo (5/5): - The location is central but off the main street so it's not so noisy. In the morning you can hear the prayers which is quite cool. The lady is very kind and informs you about the public buses to the main attractions upon arrival. The house and the garden itself are beautiful and have a great potential. There is a dining room that gives on the patio with a fridge, sink and dishes. The room is ok, size wise is actually good but it's a bit old. There were so many mosquitoes and even with the net they keep coming. The bathroom could use a renovation, at least in my room.
- Debora Valentina (10/5): - Good position
Beautiful structure
Free drinking water
- Evelyne P. (8/5): Nice place close to restaurants and shops... it's also surrounded by a nice park. - The place with the big park, the location close to restaurants and facilities
The place is off the main street and it's quiet The bathroom could have been cleaner and the water wasn't very warm .
- Patrick Leee (1/5): -

- Coline (7/5): - Logement correct pour une nuit. Rudimentaire
Eau potable en libre disposition
Accueil chaleureux

- Graham (8/5): Lovely location, great price and wonderful people service. - Wonderful dealings with the owner and her family. They helped us immensely to arrange a safari to the elephant park, at short notice and far cheaper than those advertised on the internet. They showed us personally some great local restaurants where we had most of our delicious and cheap filling meals. Location was one block behind the main street. 2 minute walk into town centre. The city is a bustling community. We had our own meals area and fridge at the property, and they provided free drinking water. They provided breakfast at a small cost when we wanted it, one day really early. the beds had mosquito nets too just in case. Dogs barking! There are dogs in all towns and cities in SL. The dogs here started barking several hours during the night and about 4am. We found out that they were used to keep the monkeys at bay. There are monkeys everywhere in the country areas as well. The room was small but suitable.

- Praschl (7/5): - The hotel was in a great location and the hosts were very knowledgeable and really nice whenever we had any issues, they even brought us coffee and tea on arrival and gifted us magnets to remember the stay.
Laundry was done nicely and very affordable.
Also the garden was great to relax and wind down.
There is a mosquito net as well. We chose the room without aircon, when we first entered the room it seemed clean enough for our short stay. When we got back in the evening we noticed three cockroaches in the bathroom, so we asked the staff and they rinsed them down the shower drain. Then they gave us a chemical to kill further cockroaches and sure enough I noticed three more and after I killed those and was quite stressed they offered to give us a new room. We took that room and did not see any cockroaches, but other insects were still present. But nothing worse than one small frog and some salamanders.
Also the room smells quite damp, so you need to get used to that.
So for a short trip to go to the cave temple and sigiriya it's great but I would not suggest staying longer in the rooms without aircon.
- Nimsara (9/5): - Good location as can access to the town quickly. Very calm and quite place. Friendly staff.
- Emily (10/5): - The staff were super lovely, very polite and decent enough english to get by. This place is off the main road, it looks like a small dodgey ally way, but trust me go down because its the cutest location quiet and away from the main hustle and bustle. The bed was super comfy as well, we got an airconditioned room bur found the fan was more than enough. They also had mosquito nets over the bed which was handy as we have been eatten alive at night in other places.
Highly recommend this place, the only down side i can put mt finger on was the water pressure on the shower wasn't hard but it still gave you a full head of water off the shower. More than enough to get what you need out of it.
Also if you are leaving at night, make sure you let them know so they dont close the gate on you, they will wait up untill you get back, we kept them updated just as a courtesy so they knew what time roughly to expect us.
So far the best cutest place we've stayed in so far, they even had a small little play ground.
- Kunal (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nimsara (8/5): Very good -
- Aiswarya (10/5): Its awesome - Yes The area, the people, the location everything nice
- Kirsty (4/5): Disappointing -
- Maxim (9/5): Superb -
- Wilson (5/5): The state the property is in was disappointing. - The garden and the location. The property really needs an upgrade. There was mould on the walls and ceiling. The bedroom and bathroom smelt very musty, damp and mouldy.
- Traisik (10/5): Serene Retreat with a Beautiful Garden - Super friendly host, she helped us navigate from Colombo to the stay and helped us with public transport for Anuradhapura, Sigiriya and local tours in Dambulla. There is ample space, a nice garden with flowers, overall it was a nice stay 😊
- Kate (8/5): super helpful staff and great facilities at very good value. - Great location just off the centre of town - so finding restaurants and buses was very easy. But it was far enough from the bustle to be calm and quiet. The bathroom could have done with a deep clean and a mop provided to manage the water from the shower.
- Jule (9/5): Superb - Good hotel, very kind and helpful young lady, excellent location.
Bathroom could be more clean.
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional - The house is in a great location. Right in the center, and its spacious garden offers a sense of peace and comfort. Ruvini Nimasha is a very friendly host. She provides all the information you need, bus numbers for excursions, she

- Marko (3/5): A well-located stay with friendly staff and convenient perks, but the poor condition of the facilities made it less comf - The location was great, and the staff was very nice. They also provided water, so we could refill our bottles, and the option to pay in cash with US dollars was a nice bonus. However, the facilities, bed linens, and bathroom were in poor condition. We only stayed for one night, but if we had booked a longer stay, we would have likely looked for another place.
- Sjoerd (10/5): Excellent Place - Excellent Sujatha home. Good location just few meters from centre mainstreet "Quiet Clean Familiar Home. Mother and daughter very kind and helpfull in many way. Advice to make program Non
- Edson (10/5): Exceptional - Amability OLD BAD
- Diana (10/5): Hope to see Oreo happy at his new home - I loved my time there, they are very nice and helpful family and I could see they love animals too which increased my interest in staying there.
Hope Oreo the cat can be rescued and becomes the new member of the hostal and looking forward to seeing photos of him managing the business
- Cristina (8/5): Recommend for 1-2 nights - Clean place; the owners are very welcoming and helpful; wifi available; 2min walk to the bus station; confortabile bed; free water to refill your bottle. -bad smell in the room;
- the water was barely warm for shower;
- Aneta (9/5): Amazing staff - Very friendly and clever owner genuinely willing to help with everything! She gave us advice, recommendations, lent us raincoats, provided us with drinking water, gave us precise information about buses, spoke perfectly English, etc.
- Kemalettin (9/5): It's considered good for its money... - The outside seating areas are nice.. but the rooms are very hot so you have to pay extra for air conditioning (5$). There are lots of mosquitoes on the balcony.
- Thennakoon (5/5): Passable -
- Yazeer (8/5): Very good -
- Alice (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rizwan (10/5): Exceptional - location, staff, price, all good. nothing
- Dibbo (10/5): Exceptional - From the location from the stay to the nearest shops, sites, staff are in the best place possible. They have cute cats and dogs. The place is huge like a personal villa.
- Adriana (10/5): Unforgetable great place to stay in Dambulla - Nice garden, veranda with beautiful chairs, well cáred room, excelent location just in the center and also in a quiet spot, easy to find, nice and helpful staff No wifi at the room, and could have an electric ketle,
- Vindhya (9/5): Superb -
- Bandarawatta (8/5): Very good -
- Chia (5/5): Rundown hotel. - Best location, near the town. Cheap A very run down and old inn. Sandy floor. Everything is old and rusty. Small room. No street lights on the way back to the hotel at night. Quite dirty sheets. But ya with this price, it's fine.
- Vivek (9/5): Superb - Very much helpful
- Nico (10/5): Exceptional - The staff was extremely friendly and very welcoming. They catered to every wish we had.
We would come again any time.
- Yu-ling (10/5): Exceptional - The accommodation is in a great location, close to the city center, making it convenient to find the food or a Tuk Tuk. The family is very kind and always happy to help!
- Julija (10/5): Exceptional - WiFi worked fine, place was close to the restaurants. There's a bus stop a few min away that takes you to Sigirya. There's a station to fill up your water bottle. Sweet and super helpful owners, she gave me coffee upon arrival and let me check in earlier. There was a small hole in the bathroom through which some frogs paid a visit
- Menik (7/5): Good -
- Renaud (10/5): A memorable stay at the Sujatha Tourist Rest hotel. - A memorable stay at the Sujatha Tourist Rest hotel. I only stayed one night, but this stay remains memorable for me, since the owner Ruvini was present and helpful at every moment. It was the new year and with all restaurants closed, she cooked us a delicious meal for all the residents, as well as a Sri Lankan lunch the next morning. It's unforgettable. Regarding the stay, the room is very clean, the bed is very comfortable, and the air conditioning is very effective. I even felt cold!
The hotel environment is very relaxing and spacious to rest. You can refill your water bottle for free and have access to a refrigerator. The hotel is easy to find and is only a few minutes from the main road. From the main road, you can walk to the bus station and then go to Sigirya and see Lion Rock for less than 100 rupees, or take a tuk-tuk for 2000 rupees. For my part, I took the bus marked Dambula/Sigirya (16 km / 30-45 min every 30 minutes). You can get off directly at the park entrance.
Additionally, you can go by bike (5-6 km) to see the 5 Dambula Caves and the Golden Temple. Ruvini can rent you a bike for the day, amazing! Otherwise, you can take a tuk-tuk as it's not far, or take a bus. The Golden Temple is on the main road, so you can take a tuk-tuk (or your bike) to go to the 5 caves ticket office and get there (300 steps). Beautiful ! The room’s value for money is excellent!
I recommend this hotel without hesitation! Enjoy your stay and say hello to Ruvini for me, Renaud from Quebec.
- Worldglobetrotter (8/5): The hostel is nice and near the city centre. Friendly staff, only problems were checkin & motorbike. - The owner was responding promptly to my messages for the advance organization of my stay and she is very kind. The hostel is centrally located, not far from the bus stop. The room was nice, although I saw a cockroach in the toilet. Small breakfast yet tasty (the main problem was that it was outdoor with insects attacking you). When I arrived the gate of the hostel was already closed, but travelling is like this: I had a problem for the ride to Dambulla, schedules may be hectic and a bit unpredictable (sending them a message would have been enough, but it’s not always easy therefore if by reservation there is a guest to be arriving, then you should give an eye at the entrance door). They have dogs in the property, which is not a good idea. I wanted to rent a motorbike, but the one they offered me was not working well (problems with the engine): I chose safety and didn’t rent the motorbike, but this caused me huge time constrains for exploring the area.
- Megan (9/5): Superb - Location is straight across the bus stop which is perfect for day trips, they have the CUTEST kittens and the room is quite big. People there are very very sweet aswell
- Belinda (10/5): Great location, price, breakfast and hosts. Highly recommend - Location, price, accommodation great. Hosts were lovely and very helpful and breakfast was amazing. One of few places we have stayed at they offer you wifi code upon arrival, normally have to ask. Highly recommend
- Shiva (10/5): Exceptional -
- Somerset (9/5): Simple room to visit Dambulla caves - Away from the busy main road, so was quiet. Able to arrange scooter for the day from here. Rooms a little basic, but acceptable for a night or two. Simple, but adequate breakfast available.
- Pacharapohn (9/5): Superb -
- Vaios (9/5): Superb - Location, good value for money, modest and helpful staff, especially Rawani with her perfect english! Could be a bit cleaner but anyway the value for money is good
- Kassa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Agata (9/5): The host was extremely helpful and nice in every way from helping to find a transport to recommend nice places to eat. F -
- Hafiz (9/5): Grab it at the current low price if you are budget-conscious. - Run by a nice family. Mother didn't understand much English but was nice. The daughter was very helpful with WiFi, bus directions etc. Decent breakfast. When they overheard me talking on the phone that it was my birthday, a young boy gave me a small gift, and they didn't charge me for extra coffee. I said a number of times that they should charge more for the room (something I have never said before). They said they are trying to rebuild business after Covid. Very central location. Some plumbing issues. A hole in the window net (to allow opening/closing the window) could easily let a mouse in.
- Dilan (6/5): For the money you paid, you can’t ask for more. But certainly, they can do a lot better and they can actually bring up t - The location of the property is fantastic. So easy to access as it is right in the centre of the city. They need to make sure the maintenance is kept up.
The Bathrooms and furniture need more attention.
- Ester (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, quiet and tucked away from the traffic but withing few minutes walk to the main road and bus stops. Great and helpful staff.
- Palitha (7/5): Good -
- Marta (7/5): Good - Nice and tidy place, with very nice stuff available to every needs. Also the location is very good right in town and very close to the bus stand Breakfast was only bread and butter could be better but overall ok
- Jore (9/5): Good time, I recommend. - We had a nice time. The location is perfect and the stay house is perfect for a stay in Kandy.
- Anita (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anita (7/5): The bed and room was comfortable .The rooms should be dusted and cleaned everyday - Very Close to the town
thé rate was excellent The toilet facilities were not good at all!
- Simone (9/5): Awesome!! 👏 - Very pretty property with nice garden. It’s close to the main road, but still feels quiet and relaxing. Nice welcome, cozy room, with clean bathroom and hot water. Super friendly people and cute animals. Also we could leave our backpacks there for some hours. one more power outlet in the room would bet nice. But there are more outside of the room
- Leo (10/5): A quiet, comfortable and wonderful guesthouse. - A wonderful, peaceful and friendly place to stay. The location is just a short walk from the city center where you can find restaurants, shops and transportation. But it’s very quiet here. In the morning you hear birds singing, and at night some crickets and frogs. All around is greenery, and there’s a pleasant garden to sit and read or relax and drink a tea. The rooms are clean and good value. And the best part are the warm, hospitable and generous owners. I planned to stay for two days but ended up staying for five because I enjoyed it so much. And I’m looking forward to returning.
- Truong (8/5): Very good -
- Indrė (9/5): Great - The owner is extremely nice, helpful and speaks English very well. The location is really convenient, near the main attractions but also quiet. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly. No mosquitoes net, so got bitten really bad;/
- Nikoleta (7/5): Good - Very good lication, just a few meters from the busy and very noisy street. Very nice garden, just to sit, drink your tea and listen to the birds. The girl which took care of us, I think her name is Adhi, was very kind and helpful, she gave us valuable information about the transport options to Sigiriya and to Kandy. The hostess and her qute grand daughter were also very nice. The bathroom and the room were not quite clean. The sink was leaking. The water preassure was not enough in the evening on the second floor. We could use some mosquito net so that we don't sleep on closed windows.
- Ezequiel (10/5): Super friendly family :) -
- Chatnarong (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Léa (10/5): It was an amazing experience to stay here! The people are very nice! Everything is clean, the shower, AC and internet ar - The people are very nice! Everything is clean, the shower, AC and internet are working well!
- Dorian (8/5): Very good - Big airy room, balcony, large garden friendly and helpful staff. Will arrange moped rental if asked. Supply free filtered water. Electric hot water system didn't work, maybe could of used a mosquito net.
- Sasi (6/5): Pleasant -
- S.g (4/5): Disappointing -
- Andrea (10/5): Good choice in Dambulla - The family is so friendly and welcoming. They really helped us during our stay. The location is easy to reach from the bus station. Peaceful place but still close to the main road.
