- Dhany Lionel (3/5): Owner of Paragon: READ THIS - I became friends with the staff: Pak Salim, Tara, Bagus. I think the owner of this property don't have a vision on how to run a hotel should. Owner are so lucky to have the staff as said. My last day of stay, wake up without the water running. I had to sprinkle my self with mineral water instead.
- Francesco (6/5): - Economic hotel in Jakarta centre, close to MoNa, restaurants & street food stalls and Gambir Train station (reason why we chose it)
Nice and friendly staff.
Ok to sleep for 1 night on budget. Rooms need a big renovation, furniture are very old as well as bathroom really run down...
AC is noisy with black mold all around.
- Bérešová (7/5): All good - Staff is super helpful and friendly, good deal for the money :) The rooms should be renovated
- Rozana (1/5): Will not recommend - Near Gambir train station. Price is good The hotel need a facelift . Seriously it was so rundown. When we enter 1 of the room, there was a big lizard welcoming us. We request to change to another room. lighting for the rooms are very dim. The photos shown in the website does not shows the real situation.
- Albertine (5/5): - Location
The lobby gives the idea of a charming old style hotel Old becomes run down and very badly maintained.
Our bathroom was flooded due to leakage of the toilet. Which also made the bathroom dangerously slippery. The toilet didn't flush many times. The hand douche next to the toilet had a tiny stream of water with no force at all.
In the new room we got assigned to the on the 5th floor the toilet didn't work at all. So we didn't move, we were there 1 night and a day plus the beginning of the evening, so we endured it. There was no partly refund to be discussed eventhough it was obvious that that should hsve been given.
We were on the 4th floor and had absolutely no wifi although we got a password. Even after indicating this at the reception nothing was done about it.
There is no roomservice evenghough it says so on Booking. No restaurant other then a small corner with some snack food.
The chairs in the room are very run down.
The room and bathroom were not only rundown but not clean on top of that. Black long hairs that fore sure were not ours.
It is not sn extreme high proce for Indonesian standards but really no value for money
- Biswajit (1/5): - Nothing to mention about except fair location. No hot water.. Even issue with normal water in the bathroom. Not even clean. This is really too old building.. It needs thorough renovation. Not fit to run as hotel
- Marie (7/5): -
- Wan (1/5): Bad - Location area good No WiFi Internet in room
No water in at WC
Toilet room not clean
Have a bug at bed.. To many..
No TV channel
- Ambarwati (7/5): Good -
- Qasim (1/5): Idont like too stay aging - Not clean too old Very bad
- Erlangga (7/5): Good -
- Qiaoqing (5/5): Passable - The staff is helpful and hotel is in a good district. Many small parts are broken that impact their functions.
- Marini (7/5): Good - Service from the staff at reception caunter. My son left his tablet at the hotel room, hotel staff noticed it and keep it until we came back and take it.. Thank you so much.. Near to gongdangdia stasiun and also dream date cafe.. Just walking distance.. Many eateries Infront of the hotel, thamrin and GI also few KM from hotel.
Spacious room, suitable with the price. Nothing.
- Muhammad (8/5): It's in good location - Over all locations was good room was neat clean. Washroom wayervnul was broken not good water was tipping and charge por also was bad i
- Jaya (8/5): Very good -
- Yan (5/5): Passable -
- Isobel (8/5): Very good -
- Michelle (7/5): Good - The room was completely sufficient for the price.
With air conditioning, two bottles of water every day and free water in the lobby Wifi was not working in our room.
Could have been cleaner, the mattresses for example were really dirty. At the last evening we saw a cockroach in the bathroom.
- Robert (7/5): Good - Elderly hotel with elderly credentials and an interesting collection of traditional artworks. Nothing much seems to have changed since it first opened possibly some forty years ago, including the reception staff. Money has been saved by not repairing broken things such as lift-button lights, which is admirable thriftiness but possibly not wise hotel management. It's in a good location near necessary places. The room was large and sported a window. Clean, good enough linen. Quiet. All surfaces clean. No hidden piles of trash. Cheap. The AC was ancient and somewhat asthmatic but did at least work. The welcoming reception staff weren't welcoming but rather gruff but they were wearing neckties also of ancient vintage (a plus). No towels provided even after I called and asked; fortunately the breakfast boy came back with a set. Breakfast was noodles in a box delivered by said boy to the room at 7am, however, the noodles were tasty. The "cafe" areas indoors and outdoors at the lobby are not for use; display only.
- Fatma (6/5): Pleasant - The location is great Lizards in the room, ants ... Not very clean. Stains in the bed.
- Dhany (7/5): Def will come back - my regular hotel cleanliness must be upgraded
- Judy (3/5): We were disappointed with the experience. - Proximity to suburban rail.
Close to street food market stalls at night
Breakfast was traditional Indo food. We were sent to a room that had not been service since the last guests at midnight.
Had to sleep on an unchanged bed.
Stayed 3 nights because we had already paid and only changed the towels once.
- Christian (4/5): The room was hot, the AC didn't blow hard, and the provided password for the Wi-Fi didn't work - Location Out-to-date hotel.
- Marko (6/5): Pleasant -
- Filipe (9/5): Superb - Lift doesnt work to the 5th floor, staff dudnt speak a great english, the floor was dirty
- Mahadi (10/5): Exceptional - good
- A.tran (6/5): Pleasant -
- Sri (8/5): My girlfriend was very happy, safe and comfortable. What sucked for me is I couldn’t extend her room so she didn’t have -
- V. (7/5): Good - nice location, friendly staff
- Ann (2/5): Very poor - Location was good. Close to the LRT and the street food area. Unfortunately, due to my friend's family emergency, we weren't able to stay byt through Feb 29th. They didn't clean the room until we returned at 4pm the first day and if I didn't insist, they wouldn't have come. I thought it was odd that they hadn't done it by that time.
The 7th Floor internet was atrocious: it was mostly nonexistent. They did try to fix it the first night but they gave up (and we gave up) by the 2nd night. I don't know why they couldn't invest in a better modem.
The water pressure was low when both hot & cold water were on. The sink faucet was difficult to turn on & off.
The furniture was old.
- Novilia (6/5): Pleasant -
- Maimon (3/5): Trust me, just by looking at the linen, you feel itchy - Close to main tourist destination Super dirty. Bed dirty. Pillow cases so so dirty. Toilet is very dirty.
- Pushpalatha (8/5): Very good -
- Saju (4/5): Disappointing - Staff and location good No tooth brush and paste ac not good condition bed and furniture very old building also old
- Ibrahim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dhany (8/5): My Home away from home for my business trip. - Close to everything and everywhere. My home base for Jakarta biz trip. I've stayed here 3x a month for 3-4 days. The staff has became my friends. Especially Pak Joko. Old building, though it has potential the propriator seems that not interested to renovate their property to its former glory
- Susan (7/5): Good - when I asked about breakfast, what time, how to order etc. I was simply told that it would be brought to my room, it was, at 07.30. Something in a box and a bottle of water, I wasn't impressed. Likewise I had looked forward to having something to eat in the restaurant when I arrived but the restaurant is shut.
- Hong (2/5): Would not stay such hotel. - Location near to train station Very rundown hotel. Toilet very dirty. Flush system not functioning well.
- Francesc (3/5): A ruinous hotel, cheap but crappy - Close to the train station and national park The dismal state of the room
- Michal (10/5): Exceptional - weaker wifi in the room
- Titawaty (5/5): it was okay just to sleep for one night - close to Monas and US embassy it is old hotel and need a lot of renovation, AC was dripping water to the floor. the room was warmer than the AC temperature should be.
- Ahmad (1/5): Old . Dirty . Not worthed for money - Location Old hotel , staff was rude
- D.gia (6/5): Pleasant - Close to gondangdia Station and jalan jaksa area, staff helpfull
- Gaetan (7/5): Great location. Pleasant stay - Great location! And very polite staff The rooms could do with a makeover, especially the bathrooms
- Dhandy (8/5): Very good -
- Imeliana (6/5): Pleasant -
- Dhany (7/5): Close to anywhere. Perfect hotel for a night or two. - Seriously easy access to anywhere. Hotel with such location, room size, comfy bed and good showee...how come the owner didin't think or plan to renovate it?
- Saheera (9/5): good stay - proximity to the train station and lots of good food around the hotel the toilet flush kept flushing all night
- Lucy (8/5): Very good - What we expected, nothing wow but worked perfectly for us for a couple of days. AC worked well, room was clean and good location
- Putu (5/5): Passable -
- Taha (8/5): Very good - Bed sheets so old
And cover pillow too
- Fitriana (4/5): Disappointing - location is strategic Hotel needs renovation badly
- Ivan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Yulvia (3/5): old place needs maintenance. the tap water spash everywhere and make you wet. the fridge is super dirty with fungus. unb - good location disgusting
- Ramesh (1/5): horrible - nothing everything was rubbish and waste of money
- Nina (7/5): good value for money - The reception is open 24h, staff is kind, they bring breakfast in the room, food was yummy (consider vegetarian option 😉).Wifi was working, bed was comfy. location is nice, close enough to everything by walk or by Grab.
Ok for one or two nights. The room was a bit dilapidated and would need a renovation. Bathroom would need a proper cleaning once in a while. Sheets were clean but they had old stains on it. money value was still good.
- Leila (6/5): not so clean - locatie, the lobby, some receptionists there was a lot of hair on the ground. in the hallways and in the room. the sheets weren’t clean.
we asked a receptionist for knive and fork, and he couldn’t care less. later someone did his best to come to the room. There were also employees who were friendly.
- Khairul (4/5): Disappointing -
- Mila (2/5): Very poor -
- J (6/5): Pleasant - Staff are helpful
Very close to Gondangdia train station Rusty showerhead, just a few holes squirting out water
Mattress is old, sags in the middle
- Mohammad (5/5): Passable -
- Ario (5/5): Passable - Location Building is not well maintained, cleanliness is just fair.
- Thi (5/5): Passable - close to train station old building. it’s needed to be refreshed. toilet faulty
- Anonymous (3/5): the staff was unfriendly, food very poor - I did no like the property at all bad location, the room was dirty
- Evdf (8/5): Very good -
- Mohammad (1/5): not recommended - location nothing
- Anonymous (5/5): Passable -
- Evdf (7/5): Good -
- Eisenzone (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gareth (9/5): Superb - Helpful staff
Location good for coffee, resturant and shop but far from tourist sights. Resturant in hotel didnt look like it was open
- Priandono (5/5): Passable - The location is good, close to tourism objects (national monument, national museum, presidential palace, cultural center etc) The property need renovartion to be more comfort and fit with recent hospitality standard.
The hotel management seems know too little about the property and its operation (room quality etc).
- Peter (7/5): Good - The hotel was ok. The extremely poor wifi was disappointing.
Even in the lobby it's poor.
I'd a lot of trouble booking an onward flight on line.
- Hakimi (8/5): Very good - 10 minutes (walking) to Sarinah.
- Dato (10/5): Exceptional - The best The best
- Victor (4/5): Disappointing - the location is great, just in the center og town. the aircondition in the room works great and the room we ended in sad clean. the breakfast is good if you like rice and spicy chicken. the Wi-Fi was good we didn’t have the best experience. we arrived in the evening and got our room, I noticed that there was blood stains on the bedsheets so I asked if we could have them changed or get a new room, the manager seemed really annoyed with it, but ended up showing us to another room, that clearly hadn’t been cleaned. we had to ask to get another room and now he was really annoyed. we thought that our request was fair so it was just weird that he had to react that way. when we asked when the breakfast was he told us 7.30, we asked if it could maybe be possible to get it a bit later. it wasn’t.
the hotel is a bit old, but the beds are okay. the pillows really not great. you could probably have a good experience at the hotel, the manager maybe just had a bad day
- Sulaiman (7/5): Good -
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Irmina (8/5): Very good -
- Sigit (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (1/5): Way overrated hotel, old, dirty and broken room facilities - nothing good about this place, just happened the AC and hot water still working. Very overrated. Nothing works or works well in the room, even a lot of things are broken, fridge is dead, safe deposit is in the permanent lock. Bathroom is a nightmare, broken toilet bow, leaking water spray, broken hanger and stain/dirty everywhere.
- Alaa (8/5): Very good -
- Natalia (7/5): Good - Good place near train station if you wish to get a morning train to Semarang p.ex. Air Conditioning right above the bed. To loud and too windy :/
- Ilaria (7/5): Good location - Location close to Gambir Station. The stuff prepared and early take away breakfast for us which we appreaciated a lot. Gave 7 for the stuff. The place is a quite dirty. The bathroom very old and should be improved. AC half broken, hard to regulate to a proper temperature.
However the place is quite cheap and does the job for one night before heading off somewhere else.
- Nicolas (8/5): good for one night in jakarta before taking a train - Close to Gambir station ( 15 minutes walk)
- Dušan (7/5): Good - It’s a beautiful hotel, but it seems very old. it needs some facelift. other than that, everything else was great
- Martijn (3/5): Good for once and one day. - location is good to use as base for train travelling. dirty and not hygiënisch.
- Michael (4/5): Disappointing - Location and some staff were nice. No breakfast
- Supreet (6/5): Pretty ok for a private night's stay in Jakarta on budget. - Easy to reach, right in the middle of Menteng. The location is excellent.
Staff allowed us to store our luggage for a few extra hours post check-out. Toilet was ancient, did not work the first time and we had to call the reception to send someone to fix it.
AC remote didn't work as well, which they replaced. The AC took a while to cool the room.

- Mohamed (8/5): Very good -
- Rash99 (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is good and the rooms are spacious nothing
