- Mara (9/5): Visiting Sayulita for a destination wedding gathering. - The Hotel location & view were wonderful. Easy walk to town or beach. [GREAT coffee @ La Chula just below.] La Esquina staff go above & beyond to maintain the property & keep the rooms in beautiful condition. A thing that we grew to really appreciate were the sound-proof beachside sliding doors. Sayulita can be a very loud place...music can be blaring from the beach bars. But with the doors closed & AC on, we were in our own quiet retreat. (Black-out Blinds were also a plus) Management were kind, very accommodating and responsive as well. Highly recommend La Esquina to anyone interested in visiting Sayulita!

There’s also a great restaurant called Baklava down the street on the beach. There was just one issue, a neighbor on the corner played loud music until 6:00 am.

We appreciate the easy check in and check out process. Our room was perfect for us two and plenty of space. We had a wonderful view and loved that the pool was as nice at is pictured. Although we didn’t make use of the kitchenette area, our room was equipped with everything we would have needed to prepare a quick meal in our room. Absolutely enjoyed our stay at La Esquina.

- Forrest (10/5): Wonderful, upscale but casual propert steps from all the action in Sayulita. - Loved the beachside location, the sparkling clean rooms the friendly but unobtrusive staff and just the whole relaxed, beach vibe. The neighborhood got a little loud sometimes at night but I really can’t say I don’t like it. It might be a concern for someone looking for an ultra quiet getaway.

Walking distance to all restaurants, etc. Quiet at night except for Friday and Saturday when the music went til 430 am. Not sure if that is every weekend or just because the fair grounds that was on that weekend. Just a little expensive.

Plenty of cooking utensils. I would ask for the apartment higher as we could not leave our curtains open because everyone could see us .

It was right on the beach, I opened the doors at night and the ocean waves put me to sleep. The pool was clean. The bed was comfortable. Housekeeping came daily. The management people were very helpful with the renting of a golf cart for my spouse. I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it.

We rented a golf cart to get around and they had a little spot for us to park. But everything is very walkable too so you don’t really need one.

Our room was clean and well appointed. I especially liked that they had a bottled water cooler inside. Walking into and around the town was convenient. The boomboom of loud music from the bar/resturant nearby starting around noon and going till 2am was annoying and greatly hampered the enjoyment of listening to the surf.

When we returned back to the hotel our second day there our door was wide open, as the staff had entered the room, but nothing had been cleaned and the bed was unmade. We didn't know why they had entered our room if they didn't even bother to clean it, give us fresh towels, or make our bed. It made us feel unsettled, as our room should not have been left open with our valuables inside. We also wish there was coffee included with the coffee maker.

Located near the center of town but calm, a couple safe blocks away from the night life. Beautiful room with great kitchen amenities (the clean water cooler and ice tray were a nice touch). The staff were quick to respond and very courteous. We felt bad about the sand they diligently cleaned off the floor every day, wished there was a broom in the room. We stayed for a week and for several nights there was a lot of yelling and screaming; maybe at sports? Not sure if this was from the room above us or the balconies of the hotel next door (located about 20 ft. behind our room). Kind of ruined the peaceful sound of the waves, not to mention our sleep.

- David (6/5): Good visit because of the view and location, but we would not stay there again. - The property's exterior premises and pool area are well maintained, and the location and views next to the beach are superb. The studio room is spacious. There was no furniture in the room! A comfortable bed was provided. The only other furniture (except for shelving cupboards and closet) was a small kitchen-like table and three metal kitchen chairs. The table top was scratched and damaged and we requested a table cloth to cover it. The metal kitchen chairs were old and rusting. We advised management that there was no comfortable seats to read or chat in the evenings. The response was that our comments would be considered.
