Guest Reviews
- Aniket (4/5): Don't fall for the pictures! - The best part and the only good part about the stay were the two people managing the property Subhash and Kamlesh such courteous attendants. The stay is advertised as opening up to a green luscious lawn but the reality is far different. The lawn is part of a school and the accommodation has a separate entry on the first floor. Facility wise the room was spacious but that in itself comes with challenges of cooling it down and with none of the ACs working it was a rather inhabitable stay. For the price paid one would hope to get more amenities in terms of toiletries too which was bare minimum.
- Chirag (5/5): -
- Guilherme (10/5): Muito bem atendido e recepcionado. - O atendimento foi excelente.
- Jelena (9/5): - Central location, nice staff
- Rajput (10/5): Home stay just like a home - The staff is very courteous and was a great help. A common sitting area is amazing. Cafe sum is a very cute cafe and earthly. Mr. Subhash, the manager is very helpful, kind and polite. Ac and fan were making sound in the night. It was a small thing but a person like me had difficulty sleeping. Small suggestion if night light can be provided in the rooms.
- Darren (10/5): - Very clean, peaceful and quiet area, not far from some super markets and shopping malls, staff very friendly. Beds were firm but comfy. Nothing really, everything was great. Didn't have any food there so I can't comment on that.but it looked very nice
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely boutique vintage charming hotel great value - Beautiful vintage boutique hotel with lovely rooms and tasteful decor in good quiet location. Charming and calming! Subhash the Manager was fantastic booked us airport transfer and got up early to ensure we got away OK. Lovely food in the small restaurant and near other authentic places to eat. Jaipur is stunning see my photos of old city Nothing
- Erin (10/5): -
- Holly (9/5): Fabulous stay in a great location - Subhash the manager went above and beyond to help us during our stay. Anything we needed he was happy to help with. His colleague Complice was also so friendly and kind, and the security guard who guards the property was also so kind, making sure we got into our ubers safely and smoothly. Thank you Subhash and team!
The location of SUM is lovely if you are looking for a more peaceful stay - it is a more residential area and it's just a short taxi drive to all the main sites. The area is also great for good restaurants so there is plenty on your doorstep. The communal areas in SUM are lovely and the breakfasts great. Baagh room was lovely - beautifully decorated and clean. Baithak room was a little small for two people and there is limited wardrobe space to unpack. However, it was clean and still perfectly comfortable.
- Megan (9/5): Fabulous venue, kind and caring staff. - Beautiful building, gorgeous architecture. Cute Indian home stay
- Junko (7/5): - Staff Location and food
- Kuldeep (8/5): Comfortable and peaceful. - Location was great. However, breakfast was too basic with few options. Could be made more extensive with fruits, condiments etc Food options
Bathroom toiletries
Tea/ coffee service. Tea bags were missing. Creamer was missing.
- Martine (9/5): - The staff is amazing! Very friendly and helpful. The food is really good too. Highly recommended
- Giulia Eleonora (8/5): Una struttura affascinante e ben tenuta nella fantastica jaipur. - Staff super gentile, camere belle e ben arredate.
Cucina molto buona Di notte potrebbero sentirsi dei rumori, tipo ronzii di macchinari intermittenti. Ma con dei tappi alle orecchie si risolve tutto :)
- D Khoo (9/5): Riverside luxury hotel with a stone's throw to Chinatown - The location was perfect for taking a river cruise or boat ride across. Room and hotel seemed a bit dated.
- Jaya (9/5): A charming getaway that one can go back to again and again. - The location is good as it is in a residential area which is very quiet. The hotel is extremely charming and beautifully renovated. Some of the rooms may appear small but that is because it is an old construction. Within small rooms, there has been an attempt to utilise space ingeniously and give the rooms character. I must compliment the architect who has renovated this building beautifully. There was nothing that I disliked. Perhaps the breakfast options could have been better.
- Harsh (9/5): -
- eva (9/5): Great stay - Beautifully decorated, great location. Kind staff The matress was a bit too hard.
- Fabian (10/5): -
- Emma (8/5): Lovely boutique experience with great style, breakfast and homely vibes. - Beautiful little vintage Haveli. A labour of love for the team, who are delightful- thanks Subhash and team. Feels like home. Great breakfast. Fab style. Quiet area, but pretty central. Good communication as well.
- Annalisa (8/5): Great place, I´d book a larger room next time! - Subhash is the highlight of SUM, he is such a wonderful manager and was a great help! The cafe is also wonderful, reasonable priced, and delicious. Location is also in a great part of Jaipur and silent. The baagh room felt significantly smaller than in the photos. Bathroom also smells very musty, but it is an old building after all.
- MARTIN (9/5): -
- eva (9/5): - Nice interior design, very kind service, silence, good location Bed too hard, the photo of the harden in booking should be deleted, since guests cannot access the garden
- Jiali (9/5): - Clean and comfortable. No
- Radheshyam (9/5): -
- Anuja (9/5): - Excellent Location and Helpful Staff
- Nicolaides (9/5): -
- Suren (9/5): Subhash and his hospitality is the best, as they come. He goes above and beyond to help, make guests comfortable and t - A beautiful property in traditional Rajasthan Havelj style. Located in newer part of Jaipur, it is accessible to shops, attractions, restaurant and more Liked everything about the hotel. One suggestion would be to expand the breakfast menu or rotate to have variety
- Jessica (9/5): We loved our time and felt very well looked after. - We couldn’t have been better looked after by the Sum Jaipur team. They were super attentive and went out of their way to ensure we had a great experience - booking restaurants for us, arranging travel, coordinating sightseeing experiences, cooking great food. You have to get a taxi/tuk tuk to the old city but it’s not necessarily a bad thing as you get some peace and quiet at the hotel!
- eden (3/5): Could have been good but definitely wasn’t. Won’t be back - The family who run it are lovely. The wife makes very good omelettes. No hot water for the entire three day stay. They keep telling us it would be fixed but no. Couldn’t give us another room or any compensation. Workers trying to fix it kept us awake. Pictures online were misleading. Not up to western standards. Sad but true
- Karthigesu (9/5): Great stay,, excellent staff. - Excellent staff and hospitality. Subhash, the manager at Sum Jaipur was particularly helpful, well spoken and very polite always attending to our every need. The housekeeping boy was diligent in keeping the place clean. He also doubled up whenever we needed an auto - he'd run to the main road to hail one for us and always did it with a smile. Likewise, the kitchen staff and the watchman. We had dinner on our first day at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed it. Only downside, not for me at least since I'm vegetarian, is you don't offer non-veg aside from eggs which my husband missed terriblly.
- MARTIN (9/5): -
- Wen Ling (10/5): -
- Cristina (8/5): - La decoración y la localización En las fotos parece más grande el jardín y la fachada
- Eran (6/5): A pleasant place outside the city. - The owner and the staff were lovely and ready to help us at any time. The room we got was nothing like what we saw in the pictures. Alos the location is a kind of outside everything. But the owner helped us by getting transportation quickly upon request.
- Hin Seng (9/5): Peaceful serenity in bustling Jaipur city - Charming property tuck away from city bustle yet conveniently reached by Uber. Step in and we are immediately calmed by the peaceful serenity. Warm hospitality extended by Subhas and team. Room lacked views
- Kate (7/5): -
- Julia (10/5): Loved everything about the boutique hotel! It felt like a home from home in Jaipur, the staff were incredibly welcoming - We loved the manager, Subhash - he went out of his way to make our trip as memorable and enjoyable as possible and had really helpful recommendations and advice. The interiors and rooms were beautifully decorated and the breakfast each morning was great.
- Salma (10/5): Thank you subhash! - Great breakfast and exceptional customer service, Subhash was very professional and helpful during my stay. He went over and beyond, i was so impressed . Breakfast was exceptional. I liked the decor, it was beautiful and simple! Loved it.
- Manushree (9/5): - We had an excellent stay in sum Jaipur. What made our stay especially memorable was how attentive and proactive subhash (hotel manager) has been. Thank you!
- Rebekah (10/5): -
- Felix (10/5): - The staff were amazing. Rooms were very nice too Nothing
- Janika (9/5): - It was a very cozy hotel, very clean and the staff was very friendly! It’s a bit far from the main attractions, but it was a big issue as it’s very easy to get a drive or Uber to drive around.
- Amy (10/5): Just the best place to stay! - The location was excellent- quiet, but not too far from the action. Some excellent restaurants and cafes nearby. Beautiful decor and very comfortable. Subhash could not have been more helpful- he organised a transfer from the train station and sorted a late dinner on our arrival, escorted us to a private shopping experience and then even kept our bags after a late checkout and opened up the room so we could shower and get ready for our bus trip. The food was absolutely delicious as well. Staff were all so helpful and not in your face at all. His authentic approach to making our stay memorable was so appreciated. Nil!
- Amarinder (8/5): -
- Pia (3/5): Bad - Food was good and rooms were clean The rooms were average at best, rooms that were supposed to be costing around 2000 to 3000 costed 7000.. they do not have parking at property and they make you park the car outside the gate, which feels very unsafe. The rooms are very small for the price. The location is inside very small small streets above a school. I will not recommend this day to anyone.
- Damian (8/5): - The receptionist was the nicest person ever. Very helpful in every moment! The rooms were separated by the thin door and we could here literally everything what our neighbours were doing not to mention long night conversation. We could even see the light since the door has a window with a semi transparent cover on it which was iluminating our room at night.
- 2020202020 (8/5): - Beautiful property and very well maintained and very clean
Manager Subhash was extremely helpful and on hand to help and answer all questions Restaurant food wasn't great and menu options every limited meaning having to dine out each night.
- Selmaan (10/5): Tasteful, beautiful little boutique hotel run by very helpful staff - Design, decor, cleanliness
- Anushka (7/5): -
- Christina (9/5): Great location, friendly staff, comfortable and beautiful rooms. - Location convenient. Very quiet. Beautiful design to hotel (owner an architect), including great common areas and a small garden. Antiques on sale at reception, which proved tempting. Breakfast - limited options (because they only have six rooms) but very tasty! Good communication. Slight damp smell in one of the rooms. But that’s Indian drains…. Better (stronger!) coffee would have cheered these two coffee addicts.
- Saumya (8/5): -
- Joanna (8/5): We felt like home - Common area, old original design and very nice stuff -
- Chloe (10/5): - The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our requests and changes, best hospitality We've received in India! The food was quite good and the room was very clean. I will definitely be coming back! Thank you Sum Jaipur for such a nice stay!
- Sam (10/5): Perfect - Everything Nothing
- Jess (9/5): Beautiful property, amazing staff.. thank you! - The property is beautiful, a good location but you have to walk far/taxi to get to some places. Amazing common space and balcony. The staff were very friendly and accommodating helping out with everything possible. Nothing
- Arjun (8/5): Very good -
- Omayya (10/5): Exceptional - The service was absolutely exceptional. It was a last-minute booking but they accommodated the request promptly. All staff from watchman to hotel manager were super supportive and kind to me being a female solo traveller. Quiet clean room, delicious food, excellent customer service. They even helped me get a ride to the airport after being ditched by my guide. I would recommend Sum Jaipur with no hesitation. -
- Alejandra (10/5): Exceptional - The staff were incredibly attentive and helped to make our stay a pleasant time. The property is designed with incredible detail and taste and the food at the restaurant is delicious. I would definetely recommend staying here if you are looking for good value for money.
- Stephen (10/5): A bohemian dream In Jaipur. - A lovely gem in Jaipur. The decor both in your room and common area was finished to a very high standard. We really loved the vibe. It was like a peaceful paradise! Slightly out the centre but with a 10 minute tuk tuk, you were there. Also, not being in the centre meant less noise! Meaning for a good sleep in a comfortable bed.We had lovely hot water and the room was spotless, our room was very clean.
In the common area, there is access to filtered water which I thought was a nice touch. We enjoyed our breakfast each morning.
The hotel manager was very friendly, always asked if there was anything that we wanted or anything he could help with. He welcomed us with a drink on our arrival and when we met him and saw the building, we knew straight away, we made the right accommodation choice. Also, shout out to the staff in general, all have a smile on their face and are very pleasant. We would definitely recommend to friends and family. We honestly really enjoyed our stay here.
- Damania (8/5): Very good -
- Sarah (9/5): Superb -
- Meenakshi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brad (10/5): Sublime - Perfect place - very stylish, great facilities, spotlessly clean and quiet (a rare thing in India)!
- Kajsa (9/5): Superb -
- Julie (8/5): Very good - Wonderful friendly helpful staff.
Spacious clean rooms. The hotel is tucked away and not easy to find.
- Michael (10/5): An oasis of calm - Subhash, the manager, is a fantastic host. Nothing was too much trouble.
Sum Jaipur is an oasis of calm amongst the noise and frenzy of Jaipur. Breakfasts were excellent and we enjoyed the terrace area for drinks. We liked the fact that Sum is a located down a backstreet in a non- touristy area. You had a sense of being in a local community and a safe environment within a short taxi ride or tuktuk to the Pink City Highly recommended. N/A
- India (9/5): Charming quiet boutique accommodation - Lovely quiet boutique accommodation set amongst a residential area. The styling of the premises has been done with a modern Raj aesthetic and provides guests with some wonderful options for relaxing.
The beds are firm, bathroom nicely set out with a good supply of hot water. A fairly new establishment there are some small items that would add a final touch to their guests experience. Bedside lamps would be helpful. There is no dedicated USB charging, so make sure you have your power adaptor.
Hopefully a few will be implemented before I return next month. The staff are very keen to ensure a fabulous experience and kept a supply of hot ginger, lemon and honey available for me.
The cafe attached to the hotel serves as the breakfast area. My only wish was for a proper coffee.
- Ibrahim (9/5): An amazing haveli experience in the middle of Jaipur - its a very authentic boutique hotel, a haveli experience in the middle of Jaipur. common areas are great to unwind and relax after a long day. the manager Subash, has been always reachable before and during our stay to ensure eveyrthing was perfect. this has nothing to do with the hotel. However, a tour guide arranged by the hotel was terrible. he took us to shops and when we didnt want to buy anything he did not even want to show us around and drop back to the hotel. arrange your own guide, tuktuk and laundry. again nothing to do with the hotel.
- Ross (10/5): Great stay at a heritage property - Wonderful stay in a traditional Haveli. All modern conveniences despite being a heritage building, and great value.
- Mohamed (10/5): Quiet luxury in a Jaipur Haveli - Loved the calm and peaceful environment they created but the staff are what make the hotel. Subhash looked after us like we were his own. It is a bit difficult for taxis to find the location but the hotel send you an email to make it easier.
- Shashank (9/5): Superb -
- Charlotte (9/5): Gorgeous home from home after a busy day in Jaipur. - It was beautifully decorated, really lovely staff, loved the whole thing. The shower didn’t work properly the first night but they fixed it quickly and everything else was amazing
- Kenise (8/5): Very good -
- Katharine (10/5): Highly recommended boutique hotel Thanks Subhash - Lovely property, but staff sets it apart. Subhash is an outstanding manager and host.
- Sushant (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good -
- Belinda (9/5): Wonderful Haveli Stay with Exceptional Hospitality - We loved our stay at Sum in Jaipur! The beautiful haveli-style hotel is full of charm, with thoughtful interiors featuring local arts and crafts. The staff were warm and attentive, especially the manager, Sabhesh, who shared great local tips.
Breakfast was delicious, with freshly made parathas among the highlights. If you’re looking for an authentic and welcoming stay in Jaipur, Sum is a fantastic choice!
- Kalpana (10/5): We had a great time! - Staying at Sum Jaipur was a great experience. Very nicely decorated rooms, great food. The manager and the owner went beyond our expectations to assist us in every way possible. The staff was very friendly. we enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this hotel. Our family had a comfortable and enjoyable stay.
- Zoha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (9/5): A nice place to stay in Jaipur - Architecture and decorated beautifully. Dependent on which room you have, you may hear nearby guests.
- Marco (10/5): Top stay in Jaipur - lovely staff and cozy stay - Staff, Food, Clean, Style - staff is always ready to accommodate your request. Property manager knows how to treat customers. Delicious breakfast and chance to have a fast lunch with both Indian and international food. Property is well cleaned and rooms are so stilish
- Reimi (8/5): Very cozy - Loved the common area. The cafe had nice breakfast. Short staffed. There was only one person managing everything when we stayed.
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Oliver (10/5): Charming hotel. Great location. Phenomenal staff! - This hotel has a very charming and authentic Indian feel, whilst still having all the modern comforts you would want. However, it is the staff who stand out. Subhash could not have been more helpful and really went above and beyond ensuring we had everything we needed. Through him we were able to seamlessly arrange airport transfers and excursions around Jaipur
- Jain (10/5): Must Stay :) - Amazing location , amazing hotel and helpful and prompt staff nothing
- Arianna (9/5): Adorable bnb style property - I stayed in several room in this property.
Kutch was my favorite
Lovely staff and very nicely decorated
- Chloe (7/5): Good -
- Deepa (8/5): Loved the local experience - The local flavor, food, ambience Nothing really
- Eriberto (10/5): Amazing short stay! - The staff were very nice and helpful, especially the manager Subhash, who accommodated my early check-in. The room I booked and the common area are clean and well taken care of. I love the interior of the place; it's very aesthetic. There's a cafe/restaurant on the property if you don't want to eat outside and an area if you want to do yoga. None
- Norhayanti (9/5): Great interior, clean room and huge bathroom, value for money - Interior was a good mixture of traditional and modern that you would immediately fells like home. Breakfast was basic but good prepared freshly for you. Location was okay and you can easily arranged an Uber to move around and not far from main attraction of Jaipur. The main highlight was the person in charge of the accommodation, Mr Subhash. He made us feel comfortable before and even after we check out. His great hospitality will make you feel that you’re at your own home. WiFi connection was a little bit of challenge but I believe it was only during our short stay.
- Nastasja (8/5): A good stay - The courtyard and the room No soap, no “do not disturb” sign, manager a bit pushy
- Kaapua (8/5): Well looked after by the team. It is out of the way and a B&B not a hotel, but the sfaff are excellent - Great staff who went extra mile. Great place. Felt safe. Good food. Very safe. Loved the shared space No tv, water needs 10 min to heat up before showers.
- Francesca (8/5): Very good - Subhash was a lovely host
- Jacob (10/5): Great hotel! - Everything is beautiful and high quality. Nothing to add
- Lara (7/5): Good - Location
Pricey
- H (9/5): Picture perfect restored old mansion with great terrace - Sum is a very beautifully restored 500 year (?) old building in a quiet neighborhood. There is a beautiful roof terrace where you can lounge and a picture perfect common room. Water cooker in the rooms.
The a la carte breakfast is really good and the staf is very friendly. There is one twin room, that is only suitable for a family or a group as there no sound proofing between these rooms.
We stayed in one of those the first night, but were kindly relocated to another room the next day.
- Jordan (10/5): Relaxing stay at a lovely boutique hotel in Jaipur! - Subhash and his team (including Prem) were so accommodating and helpful during our stay. We loved our room and the property. Breakfasts were good too, and it was very quiet at night.
