Guest Reviews

- Stephan (8/5): - Beautiful Japanese house with multiple guestrooms. The room I slept in was a little small with a futon bed, but big enough for one person. It will be a little cramped with two people. The kitchen and downstairs area is free to use and well equipped. The staff doesn't sleep at the location, so the second night I was all alone in the house as there were also no other guests. That was a bit creepy. There is no comfortable place to sit inside the room. And the blankets were a bit short for me (I'm 190 cm tall).
- Sigrid (10/5): - Ein sehr schönes Gästehaus mit sehr freundlichem Gastgeber. Es war sehr sauber und gemütlich.
- Andrew (10/5): A comfortable and welcoming guest house - We loved the communal feel of the house and the hosts were so welcoming when we had a wonderful dinner onsite. The food was fantastic and the hospitality even better.

- Tom (9/5): So friendly- everyone in the village came to say hello, very welcoming and fun - The host was so welcoming and took us to amazing waterfalls to swim. Lovely people came to show us photos and to talk to us and give us gorgeous local art. A really gorgeous drive out from Nagasaki to this wee village, which had a lovely bakery and a lovely feel.

- Filipe (10/5): - Le propriétaire était incroyablement gentil !
Très abordable, j'étais le seul client
- Ida (10/5): Exceptional - Felt so much at home at this cozy guesthouse! Beautiful sorroundings, amazing hospitality! Can not recommend enough!!
- Narek (10/5): If I'll ever come to Saikai, I know where I will stay ❤️ - 'Clean
'Comfortable
'Quiet I have nothing on my mind 🤷
- Alan (8/5): Very good -

- Sarah (10/5): Beautiful spacious refuge between mountains and see with a musical experience - I didn’t expect a house this big and equipped. I was welcomed so caring and friendly and got help with everything I needed plus many more opportunities and offers for day trips and food options. I could even use the sounds system with their vinyls and the piano they have (really good sound!). Also, I cooked for myself in the evening with food I got in a supermarket of the next city. For a daytrip I rented an e-bike and went to the local waterfall (i was alone there!!) and to the sound shower museum, which I can highly recommend. Owner and staff are incredibly friendly and warm hearted. Nothing really. The only inconvenience is maybe the bus schedule and the supermarket being a bit further away. I came in winter which might offer less activity opportunities. But if you like nature it is still very worth going anytime!
- Wye (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karol (10/5): Feels like visiting your grandparents countryside house, at least according to my Japanese friends - Extremely spacious
Amazingly comfortable common spaces and rooms
Nice staff, they are mostly not there but they will try to accomodate to your schedule with check in
Remote area but views are nice, a car is probably needed to reach it.
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Charlotte (10/5): It was a relaxing and wonderful stay in this fabulous Yukinoura. I recommend you to go, especially on the weekends. - It is a house in a small village, close to the river and to the sea. Its architectural design is contemporary and traditional at the same time. The host and all the community is very welcoming and supportive. It is more than a house. I really enjoyed it.
- Gianluca (9/5): Superb -
- Clara (10/5): Perfect stay - Very good stay, the people (and place) were so nice. We had an amazing night with a music show and had the chance to exchange with local people, they even took pictures and print them for us, what great memories! Thanks again for the precious time together
- Zulhairi (10/5): Exceptional - Feels like home. It's really comfortable and the owner very friendly. None
- Ethan (8/5): Very good - The downstairs lounge is so nice and the surrounding area is very quaint as well. We really liked getting out into the countryside and the town is so cute. Would definitely want to come back here. We booked the family room for two of us and it was just bunk beds. Next time we stay we will probably book a different room. The bunk beds were single size, but comfortable. If you are a couple, maybe do not book the family room unless you want separate beds.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diederick (7/5): Nice for ikeshima! - Location was good, staff was nice, facility was ok, but good for the price. One downside was that the two nights we stayed there were minor parties in the living room, both times making enough noise for us to be unable to sleep. We did not really understand what or why, but it is not reallu professional to the guests
- Nathan (10/5): A wonderful stay in a beautiful town, with an amazing and welcoming community. A beautiful place! - The location was incredible, and the guest house was beautiful. Everyone was so welcoming and kind, and the activities we took part in were so fun!
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was incredibly friendly and treated us very well. It was a pleasure to talk with everyone. The whole place felt like home. I would definitely visit again!
- Johann (7/5): Good -
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emily (9/5): Kind of a hostel for grown ups in a beautiful spot in a small town. - Neat opportunity to stay in a beautiful old Japanese house with a community vibe. Lovely first floor with diminutive vintage kitchen (see pic. for reference I’m 5’4” / 162 cm) and tatami dining area. Beds upstairs were comfortable. Two rooms have a view of the river. Lovely deck for evening drinks or breakfast overlooking the river. All very clean and staff was friendly and helpful. Towel rental was ¥100 for bath, ¥50 face. There were a couple of extra large spiders, though they seemed more afraid of us than we were of them. Toilets are on the 1st floor - our room was on 2nd. Do make a reservation if you want to be served breakfast (at Mahalo on the other side of the pedestrian bridge) or dinner onsite. Otherwise nearby food options are limited.
- Yukiko (10/5): Exceptional - Very accommodating and welcoming owner. Quiet location and a good experience of traditional Japanese living.
- Yanír (10/5): Exceptional - very nice house
nice people to talk with
- Nichole (9/5): Friendly and easy. - the beds were very comfortable and the bar/restaurant was delicious. the toilets were quite small - it was difficult to help my small children use the toilet since I couldn’t fit in the room.
