Guest Reviews
- Donna (4/5): - Location Soft bed
Breakfast was not great
Over priced
- Anna (7/5): Posizione eccellente, il resto da rivedere - Posizione eccellente in pieno centro, sotto l'Acropoli Camera piccola, letto scomodissimo, colazione inesistente, una scala molto alta per raggiungere la camera
- Kirsten (8/5): - Fantastic location. Nothing
- Ben (10/5): - perfect location in the middle of Athens the breakfast could have been better
- Aaron (10/5): -
- Cezary (6/5): Doskonala lokalizacja, reszta mocno przecietnie - Lokalizacja Sniadania
- Peter (10/5): An overnight return to the place I stayed at a few days previously, just as pleased as before - This was a one night return visit to the property I had stayed at 4 nights previously and reviewed that then. I was just passing through this time on my way home. I had a slightly smaller room but it was equally well furnished and equipped. Due to having to leave early morning I didn't have time for breakfast on the lovely roof terrace but I did have a quick cup of coffee there, taking my last look at the Acropolis from it. Overall just as pleased as last time Nothing
- Nickisha (10/5): Very central in Plaka. Acropolis about 10 mins away. Also walking distance to everywhere. Good breakfast. Friendly and h - It's super central. And cute
- Peter (10/5): - Nice big room with traditional decor. Breakfast on the roof terrace with a superb view of the Acropolis, great to watch the early morning sun start to illuminate it. Perfect location for visiting all ancient monuments Nothing
- Nicci (10/5): Highly recommend!!! Athens is awesome!! - Prime location! It couldn’t have been any better!! Literally the best location ever. The breakfast was great and fresh! Easy check in as we got there around 8:00 pm. Small room but that was expected.
- Denise (10/5): The perfect location to stay on a visit to Athens. - The property is perfectly situated near the Placa & the Acropolis. Very clean & beautiful property. There is nothing I didn’t like about the property.
- Michele (10/5): Fantastic discovery, loved it - Fantastic unique haven in the heart of the city.
- Robert John (10/5): Intimate Excellence - Unpretentious, intimate and excellent in a prime location with prime sites, great restaurants and wonderful shopping around you. Wonderful rooftop breakfasts were the star of the stay. Nothing
- Bernadette (9/5): -
- Madeline (8/5): Very good -
- Mayer (2/5): Not up to Booking standards - Very steep stairs up to rooms and rooftop breakfast. No handrails for top 2 steps! Windows didn’t close, headboard too far away from bed, pillows fell down.
- David (9/5): Excellent location for quick access to Plaka and all the surroundfing archeological sites of Athens. - Breakfast could have been a little better in terms of what was on offer.
- Steven (7/5): Good -
- Lionel (7/5): Good - The location (Plaka), the size of the quadruple room. Room was a bit old looking, could be refreshed. Shower could be redone (no door, bathroom was flooded after I took a shower)
- Federica (7/5): Good - Small hotel with a very pleasant atmosphere. Perfectly located in the center of Athens, just steps away from the Acropolis Museum and within walking distance of many other key landmarks in the city. Very clean, with a welcoming and well-trained staff. Good breakfast. The terrace is beautiful, but having stayed at this hotel in late November, it is essential to have an alternative location for breakfast other than the guest room when it's cold. There were some inconveniences with the bathroom: it lacks sufficient covering curtains, and we had a small issue with the shower that was only partially resolved.
- Amy (9/5): Superb -
- Bralley (9/5): Great place to stay if you want to be really close to everything. Comfortable and accommodating. - Location, location, location! This was right in the middle of things--step out your door and you're right near the Acropolis and museum entrances, shopping and dining. Only 5 rooms in the house, and we got the queen suite, which had separate living and bed rooms. Breakfast was on the rooftop with a view to the acropolis with access to it at night for viewing the acropolis lit up. The staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was fine with just enough variety. Bed and pillows comfortable. Bathtub and shower. We opened our windows at night and went to sleep to the sound of really nice street musicians and voices. We were happy with it all. Still not used to disposing of toilet paper in trash can, but that seems to be common in Greece, even at the airport.
- Patrick (9/5): Superb -
- Christopher (7/5): Quirky nice boutique B&B in great position. - The rooms are nice but quite small with limited storage space. Steep stairs to the room and very tricky stairs up to breakfast on the roof. Breakfast comprised many items which had been pre-cooked too long and didn't all go together well. Coffee the only hot drink offered. Views and position and staff helpfulness all excellent. Breakfast should have less items but more freshly prepared. Also bread choice (no toast) poor. Beds have large wooden legs which protrude and given the modest size of the room it is easy to bang your ankles on them. No reception after 6pm so if you have a very later flight you cannot leave your luggage at the hotel until you depart
- Carmen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Guadalupe (10/5): Love it - Best location and the people very friendly!!!
- Emma (10/5): Perfect hotel in a great location - This boutique hotel is an absolute gem of a find. It is perfectly positioned by the Acropolis and the museum, by the start / end of the Plaka, within walking distance of all Athens sites. Due to its location there are numerous restaurants, eateries, shops etc nearby too. We didn't need to use the metro at all apart from to / from the airport, the Acropolis Metro is less then 100m from the door. The hosts were lovely, the room was clean, spacious and had air con and due to the location when the temperature was too hot in the middle of the day it was easy to pop back and cool down. Just a brilliant place. Nothing. I can't fault the hotel.
- Christine (8/5): Very good - Location is fantastic, a couple minutes walk to the entrance of Acropolis and Acropolis metro station.
The breakfast was really good and served on the rooftop with fantastic views.
Magda was very helpful. The lock on the door of our room was broken and could not be locked from the inside.
- Natalia (8/5): Very good - We arrived very early at the hotel 8:00am was closed however their staff answered my call and allowed me to leave my bags. Magda super attentive this Hotel is super well located next to the ACropilis 100% recommended.
- Patricia (8/5): Very good - The location put you in the heart of shopping, dining and a breathtaking view of the Acropolis. Thin walls between rooms allowed me to hear everything in the room next door such as drawers sliding open and closed. This is a very old building so I understand it is the nature of the building, but just know if you are a light sleeper you may want to bring ear plugs. Also the room was extremely small but the bathroom was quite generous. The bed sits on a low frame and was definitely a major toe stubbing hazard. I could deal with the small room, but tripping over the bed constantly was a hazard for me, I would suggest that the management use a different type of bed frame without the sharp corners. Also realize for people with mobility issues, that should clearly be stated in the description. It worked okay for me but if I had mobility issues, it would not have been the best choice.
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Enjoyed breakfast on the rooftop. Narrow, steep stairways to get to the room and rooftop.
- Jillian (5/5): Great location, not much more - Location was the best part of our overall stay. The room was spacious (a higher ground floor priced room). Bathroom was ample. Staff were pleasant, but couldn’t answer our questions very well. Courtyard was nice. Room felt secure. There was no safe, no bathrobes. We both had aching backs from the first sleep which did not improve over the 5 nights. Bed had a very bad dip in the middle. We complained but they said nothing. The terrace was the only place to eat breakfast, rain hail or shine. One day , it was blowing a gale, the next, sunny and hot. There were umbrellas, but they weren’t opened. The stairs up to the terrace would be a bit tricky for someone slightly unsteady on their feet. Breakfast was awful. Dried up cold cuts and cheese. Eggs that had been sitting for hours. For a 5 room guest hotel, the breakfast lady could have easily cooked eggs and bacon to order. The only nice thing about breakfast was the orange juice, although after breakfast, I saw the next day’s juice already being squeezed.
- Arie (5/5): Will not reccomand - Location excellent! There was music from outside the hotel (reataurant?0 and we couldn't sleep but only late after mid. night.
Breakfast was served only on the roof, and it was very windy and not pleasant.
- Nicola (8/5): Good location and very clean - Nice breakfast on the roof with views of the Acropolis. Pretty clean room, Friendly staff. Room was tiny so we kept banging our ankles on the bed legs. Also the stairs were very exceptionally steep up to breakfast area, so would not recommend for older guests. Breakfast area was open to the elements so not sure what would happen if it rained.
- Neil (7/5): Perfectly located for an Athens discovery trip or return. Good rooms, breakfast and easy walk to everywhere. - Perfect location literally just round the corner from the South entrance to Acropolis and with the Acropolis museum and all the Plaka at your fingertips.
Note thet there are V steep steps up to the roof where you will have breakfast, so if you are unsteady or need a lift to get to room of main hotel you will have to think twice about this place, shame though as the view from the roof for breakfast (or any time, sunset, afternoon, whenever) is just stunning as the hotel sits right underneath the Acropolis and is at the junction of a crossroads of main walkway round the Acropolis hill, so it's fantastic for people watching or just chilling with coffee, eggs, fruit, wine, fizz..............Breakfast is good and filling and served with a smile which is nice.
If youre visiting Athens for a break of 3-5 days this is the place to be as its an easy walk to everywhere, ignore the 'it's this many minutes to wherever, you're on holiday so should be taking coffee, pastries and a little tipple anyway, so what is the rush? Can't think of anything other than maybe curtains or blind in the bathroom 😳
- Charlotte (8/5): Very good -
- Christine (8/5): Very good. Fantastic location. - Magma at reception was very helpful with local knowledge. Breakfast on the rooftop looking at the Acropolis great experience and breakfast food very good. We are in our mid 70’s and didn’t have a problem with the steep spiral staircase to the rooftop for breakfast but it could be for someone with walking issues.
- Lawrence (8/5): Successful - Breakfast was good. Location fantastic.
Staff very helpful. Nowhere to put things in bathroom. Needed at least a small shelf
- Yuliia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yota (5/5): location and price - location. it is very close to Acropolis and restaurants. Room was wide enough for our family. Price was reasonable. Greek yogurt at the Breakfast was great but others were just ok and can be improved more. One thing very dissapointed was, there was strong smell of cigarette in a small space where we took the foods. A staff seemed to smoke and have left cigarette butts there. Also staff was not at the reception desk during daytime, so it was difficult to communicate with them. Maybe we should have given them a call... A musician was playing music on the street near the hotel. That was nice at the beginning but the music lasted till midnight.
- Neacsa (9/5): Superb - Location. Very close to Acropoles and other turistic sites.
Breakfast on the rooftop with an excelent view. AC unit making strange noise; have to be stop during the night in order to sleep.
- O'brien (9/5): Amazing location and great breakfast. - We loved the breakfast on the roof overlooking the Acropolis. The room was cute and comfortable.
- Robtus (9/5): Kyria Boutique House great place for sightseeing in Athens - Kyria is a very nice place for staying in Athens with really boutique soul. Seems to be small but with some climate and amazing localization - right at the foot of the Acropolis. The view from the roof, where you will have a breakfast is simply fabulous. The room itself is very comfortable with everything what is needed on board. Magda who welcomed us is so nice, friendly and helpful - thanks to her entire booking process went smooth and easy. I think we will return over there! Thank you very much for special moments we had.
- Catherine (9/5): Historic home in the heart of Athens - Could there be a better location in Athens to enjoy the Acropolis and the magnificent Museum virtually next door to the hotel. Add the morning breakfasts on the rooftop looking directly at the Acropolis and this exceeded all expectations. Yes, it is an older home but the history is its charm. Beds were comfortable and the huge claw bathtub in our room #105 was welcome spot at the end of long walking days. Internet was down for the entire time and had been one of the reasons I chose this location so that was a little difficult given work obligations, but the location made up for it.
- Richard (1/5): Awful….. - Location No elevator. Narrow, steep dangerous steps. No one over 50 years old should use this property. Booking.com rating and description totally inaccurate . Booking.com no help whatsoever in resolving issues with property. We’re over 77 years old and this property not suitable for us but property would not refund any money paid and Booking.com was no help.
- Nydia (10/5): Memorable can’t wait to return - Location is perfect. Close to everything beautiful view great breakfast. Staff is so friendly. Sofa bed mattress ready for an update
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kevyn (9/5): A nice stay with great staff. Fantastic location however noisy, bright at night and small room. - We loved the breakfast and the staff. Wonderful and helpful. We liked the roof top view and the location close to the metro and the attractions of central Athens. The room is smallish so have to work around luggage. Also the room is quite noisy and bright due to its location on a heavily travelled square where people party till 2am it seemed.
- Zacharias (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zacharias (9/5): A hidden gem in the heart of the Plaka! - Kyria Boutique House was ideally located in the heart of the Plaka. The junior suite was well set out on the ground floor and opened up onto a beautiful internal quiet courtyard with a table and chairs. The suite had a lovely relaxing atmosphere. The receptionist, Magda was very helpful and even arranged for breakfast to be delivered to our suite as we were unable to go up to the breakfast area due to mobility issues.
- Peter (9/5): Pleasant accomodation on walking distance of all main sights with brilliant view on Acropolis ! - The location was excellent with brilliant view on the Acropolis. No traffic arround the accomodation and perfectly situated in Plaka on walking distance from all other sights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. For us the breakfast could be a little bit improved with fresh bread. For the rest we liked everything !
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Perfection - Magda was amazing! Very friendly and accommodating with our late arrival. The location is perfect for all we wanted to see and then some. Breakfast was lovely and the young lady who provided it for us was so sweet!
- Pavlos (8/5): very good - position & well equipped sound isolation & cleaning
- Annice (9/5): Superb -
- Annice (10/5): Charming shabby chic hotel in the heart of Plaka. - It was a charming shabby chic boutique hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were perfect. The view from the rooftop of the Acropolis was gorgeous. I'd go back there in a heartbeat. The stairs can be a bit daunting and I certainly wouldn't recommend it for people with disabilities.
- Andrea (6/5): Pleasant -
- Roxane (8/5): Very good - Excellent location near the gate to the Acropolis. Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Close to great shopping and restaurants.
- Craig (9/5): Excellent value and location -
- Eduardo (8/5): Great value for Unbeatable location right one the edge of Plaka, if you can manage the street noise that comes with it. - Location is outstanding especially for the price. the roof deck view right next to the Acropolis is unbeatable. Impossible to park around the property as it is in the historical district.
DO NOT attempt to drive around, you will get stuck with hordes of walking tourists and one way streets.
I wish the staff would have warned us about this, since it cost us one hour of insane traffic.
- Garcia (7/5): The location is excellent but the building needs repair. - Location was excellent.
A/C and beds were good The water temperature was impossible to control.
The water was either very hot or cold.
The last day we didn’t get toilet paper or bottled water.
- Katrina (10/5): Great location and comfortable stay - centrally located in the old town made it so easy to get around. surrounded by shops and restaurants and only a short walk to the entrance into the acropolis.
- Amber (10/5): Exceptional -
- Brodersen (10/5): very nice - Location, breakfast, room
service, friendly staff, just great! Its a pretty small room
- Honor (10/5): Exceptional - Our room at Kyria was gorgeous! The vintage style was done so well and spoke to the heritage of the building. We even had a view of the Acropolis from our window! The view from the rooftop for breakfast was fantastic. And the location was really right amongst the centre of Plaka - ideal for walking and making the most of a short visit to Athens.
- Nicola (10/5): a gem in Athens - best location -
fab breakfast on rooftop and views all good if you like small boutique
