Guest Reviews

- Hugo (6/5): - Bathroom is outdated, no sink

- Paul (9/5): - Close to hiking trail up local mountand restaurants. Gate to secure motorbikes, strong wifi in bungalow, hot shower, offers coffee and tea. OK porch for floor sitting. Provides tp, towel and power outlet Mattress on floor, no sink so you use the shower spout instead, mosquitos can find way inside while sleeping. OK for a couple of nights and better than staying in a tent. The whole area around Rinjani costs a little more than other parts of the island. Would like drinking water to refill water bottle.

- Evy (4/5): - It was kinda clean We had a disappointing stay at Puncak Rinjani Lodge. The owners were friendly, but when we arrived, they just said “room 2” without giving us any other information. We tried asking a few questions, but since they didn’t speak English, it was hard to get clear answers.
When we went to shower, the water hadn’t been turned on. Even after it was, it was cold. We asked several times about hot water, but they couldn’t get it to warm up. They also turned something off at night that meant we couldn’t flush the toilet, which was really unpleasant.
There was no breakfast available at the homestay, and we couldn’t find anywhere open in the village. We checked some places on Google Maps that were supposed to have breakfast, but they were all closed, though that could have been because we visited during the low season.

- Laedami (10/5): - Lokasinya strategis, sangat tenang
- Paula (7/5): Good location, cold shower - Good Location for hiking, friendly owner. We got tea twice which was really nice. No sink, cold shower in a climate where you would prefer a warm shower.
- Gabrielle (9/5): -

- Azman (1/5): Bad - Nothing Having 2x power trip off... Around 10pm need to change room due to no water tap....and new room without hot shower.. Just imagine no hot water in the morning at sembalun.. ❄️❄️❄️😩😩
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mali (7/5): Good -
- Chumpon (10/5): Great vacation - Good location, near the center and restaurant. -
- Ankit (9/5): Superb -
- David (3/5): Good location, bad rooms and not value for money - Far from the noisy main road, set in a garden with a great view of the volcano and nearby Pergasingan hill. There's no alcohol available in the town, including in restaurants, making for an authentic rural Indonesian experience. And, as the "town of a thousand mosques", simultaneous competing calls to prayer ringing out from 0430, and at various times throughout the day, made for an unforgettable experience. This guesthouse is probably further away than most others, so relatively quieter. The sign outside this guesthouse has a different name (Wisata Rinjani) and seems to be on google maps as that. Breakfast was available for about $10+, so an extra 30% of the room price, but no sign of a dining area. Nor any other guests. All very strange. The layout is about six detached cabins in the owner's garden. There is no shared space, no use of kitchen, nor much contact with the owner so i wonder if the previous 10 star review, describing it as a homestay, has even seen the place. Or maybe it's changed ownership recently.
The cabin is small, poorly constructed (so doors swing open etc) and smells powerfully of chemical air freshener, presumably there to hide the bathroom smell of sewage when it rained. The bathroom lacks things like a mirror and a basin. The room has no shelves or hooks to hang clothes. Soft mattress, big hard pillows. Has blanket (cool at night there) but no second sheet. Note there are no interior photos of the rooms on booking (at time of writing, at least). Wifi never worked at all. Small porch but no chair. 15 minute, rural (dark) walk to main street with shops, so need transport. Overall, wildly overpriced at $30, considering the very basic accommodation and uprofessional feel.
- Katherine (10/5): Lovely Homestay with a gorgeous family! Thank you! - Lovely and beautiful family that took complete care of us!
