Guest Reviews
- janet (9/5): - The space The stairs
- Kevin (9/5): Superb break in a lovely town - Everything! Location, comfort and cleanliness Would have been nice to have had the rear patio door keys.
- Anelli (7/5): - Location is fab, great bathroom. The room is very small and has a lot of furniture that could be taken off to make it more comfortable.
- Shafaq (10/5): -
- Jane (10/5): Great place to stay, would definitely recommend. - Fabulous hotel in a great location and with parking. Our room was lovely and the bathroom was enormous. I wish we could have stayed for longer. Nothing.
- Carl (10/5): -
- Suzanne (8/5): -
- Megan (8/5): Quiet place to stay, rooms great! - Bed comfy. Bathroom big and spacious. Room very clean. The fridge in the room was a nice touch.
Netflix on the telly. Hairdryer was a bonus. Great location. Quiet place to stay. Rooms fully equipped. Hallway/porch area could do with modernising/upgrading as it was a little dull and dark with lots of CCTV, no welcome info/tourism brochures/ restaurant recommendations ect. Hallway smelt a bit musty.
The CCTV on every wall could be considered a good thing for security, but it felt a little intrusive when you first check-in. Stairs very steep and creaky but it’s understandable as it is an old building.
We stayed for 1 night. There was a pile of used bed linen that was on the floor of the landing next door to our room which stayed there from check-in until check-out.
Having a fridge in the room was a nice touch. However a couple of bottles of water in the fridge for when you arrive would have been great.
- James (7/5): Met expectations - comfortable - peaceful - pretty decent. - I thought the Marmot pretty much fitted expectations - the bedroom and bed were comfortable although I thought the pillows a little thin. The kitchen facilities were good and the bathroom was excellent. The area was quiet and felt safe. My only real concern was using the shower - I did not feel it was a non-slip surface - a mat might help.
- Charlotte (10/5): Lovely and very cosy stay! - Clean, homely, lovely bed, everything we needed! Nothing to point out, nothing inconvenienced us in any way.
- Michael (10/5): Decorated in a quirky way and to a high standard . A real breath of fresh air from the norm . Fabulous - Beautifully presented accommodation in a near perfect location . Everything provided for a short comfortable stay and great bedding and mattress for a fabulous sleep. Nothing
- Paul (9/5): Great apartment, clean and greta location, parking is charged as an addition - A very smart apartment easy access and location of keys. Nice touches with the tea, coffee and biscuits and fresh milk. Very clean and confortable apartment I was a little surprised that car parking was charged as an additional amount at £14. I am sure the booking details said parking was available but there was no mention of this being chargeable or indeed the amount. It should be shown in order to make a true cost comparison
- frank (4/5): Disappointing. Absolutely did not live up to pictures on website - Bathroom good Mattresses terrible
Only one comfy chair so other person had to sit on the bed
- Jamie (10/5): Wonderful Room in Central Harrogate - Had a wonderful stay at the Marmot. Right in the middle of Harrogate. Amazing staff and information system giving all the information you could ever need. Beautiful large room with an incredible bathroom. Would definitely recommend to anyone
- Sinead (10/5): Really good. Recommend. - Decor was nice, room was big enough and a huge bathroom. Really appreciated the double sinks as we were two friends sharing. It was very clean!!
- Claire (8/5): Great location for a Harrogate stay - Towels and bed linen good quality and very clean
Fresh coffee, cafetier & milk on arrival Too many steps at back for my elderly mum
Apartment cold and had to ask twice for heating to go on
Pay extra for parking at rear an additional £30!
- Janet (10/5): -
- YUE (10/5): very nice room and location is great for everything. will come next time. - room is really nice and comfortable.
- Helen (8/5): Business trip and The Marmot made it relaxing. - Central location, really friendly contact, and great styling. Gate way could do with a tidy - first impressions count and there was an old sock in a pile of leaves there. But it’s that time of year with fallen leaves.
- judith (8/5): Lovely clean apartment, great location - Very clean, lovely little kitchen area hidden as a cupboard, comfortable bed, huge bathroom Too warm, there is a fan but just moved warm air around, opened windows but because overlooked had to keep blinds down
- Michael (10/5): - Lovely room, very spacious in a great location. The staff welcomed us on arrival and let us check in hours earlier. Would highly recommend if you're visiting. Nothing
- Richard (9/5): I needed somewhere for a quick overnight stay. I didn’t spend a long time there; just for sleep really, but it had every - Spacious and clean with a large bathroom too! Nowhere to park!
- David (9/5): - Fabulous night over in room 4. Lovely, quirky room with a huge bathroom. Communication prior to visit was spot on and made accessing the property very straightforward. Great location as well. Definitely be back. Not a thing tbh.
- Margo (8/5): Lovely - Location. Space, large bed, large bathroom, Slight damp smell on entering but everything else good.
- Ian (10/5): -
- Robbie (8/5): - Location was perfect. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and clean. Woth everything we needed. I twisted my ankle in the bedroom as there has been a fireplace or something took out. The floor in the bedroom is uneven with an edge. Causing me to twinge my ankle. Definitely needs looking into. As it could seriously hurt an elderly person. The beds are 2 singles together..Which the little gap causes issues.
- Steven (10/5): Perfect - Lovely comfortable place to stay right amongst all that is good about Harrogate. My partner was obviously impressed as she booked for a break in August
- Ian (10/5): -
- Neal (9/5): -
- ManuSa (10/5): -
- Isabela (8/5): Great - Close to convention centre. Clean.
Love the little kitchen with kettle, cups, etc
The bathroom was probably the highlight! The stairs in the front and at the back with the gate.
No ironing board
- Jackie (9/5): -
- Rebecca (10/5): - Great location, comfortable bed and beautiful big bathroom. The cupboard facilities for making a drink was a nice touch. Nothing
- J J (10/5): - Very easy instruction to enter the building, I met one lady and was very friendly, will definitely stay again, many thanks jj
- Mrs Lady (10/5): -
- Bernard (10/5): Loved the kitchenette and milk, snack provided, bed very comfy HuGe bathroom with a separate shower - Marmot was in a quiet street in Harrogate. Walking to center of town and beautiful parks
- HelenTeale (10/5): - Fantastic stay in the apartment. Well equipped, beautiful decor, nice big bath and shower and plenty of hot water, beautiful livingroom and fully equipped kitchen. Excellent location for town and attractions. Excellent value for money. I expected to hear some noise being so close to town and the main road. But it was very peaceful even in the livingroom at the front of the house.
Nicole was an excellent host, very easy to get hold of and prompt to respond both prior to and after our stay and accommodating to our needs. Would highly recommend The Marmot. Thanks for everything Nicole. X
- David (3/5): Good and poor points - Great location. Massive bathroom. Nice little kitchen Room dark. Heating controlled by owner. Boiling hot in room and had to leave window open. Property on main road and never had any sleep as people walking past noisy 12am /2am /4am / 5am then cars started. Also feel parking should be included as it's part of hotel. Would understand if parking was not part of hotel.
- IGL04103 (10/5): Great Stay - Enjoyed a really great stay...highly recommend 👌
- Paula (10/5): - We had a lovely overnight stay at the Marmot. The room was beautifully furnished, well equipped & spotlessly clean. The bathroom was huge & to a very high spec, with lovely toiletries. We appreciated the snacks & fresh milk provided. The location is perfect, so close to the centre of Harrogate. Communication from the host was excellent. The only downside was there were no parking spaces left & we were given the location of a car park nearby.
- Johanne (10/5): Great place to stay with nicely decorated rooms and good communication from the host - Location, good lovely clean room comfortable beds and a lovely bath Always very good
- Barry (10/5): Great stay in a lovely apartment with everything we needed in a very central location. - Location was excellent, room was very comfy and spacious also. Would’ve preferred no additional parking charge but I understand why it was there.
- Wendy (9/5): Great location and communication from the owners - Very good location, parking available (additional cost at rear).
- C (7/5): Lovely rooms and bathrooms in centre of Harrogate. - Room was lovely and large well appointed bathroom. With a nice kitchenette that had tea/real coffee & fresh milk provided. We had an issue with the heating when we arrived and the room was cold. They owner came over to try and sort it out, apparently an issue with the WiFi. It was a bit warmer the next morning. We used the television but the same WiFi issue was causing the television stream to break up.
I’m sure once the WiFi problem is sorted these minor issues will be resolved.
We were also given a small refund of £12.00 for the problems.
- matthew (8/5): -
- Thomas (9/5): Great - Great place to stay The doors very noisy 1 inch gap under the door - would benefit from a under the door stop
- Abigail (8/5): Lovely room perfect location great bathroom - Nicely appointed room with a lovely bathroom. Location, perfect for wandering around center of town close to Betty’s and the Turkish Spa. The beds were very comfortable, but I found the pillows way too hard for my head as my neck is not good. I did inquire about feather or softer pillows, but they did not have any.
- Robert (8/5): I will use this location again when I am back in Harrogate - Surprisingly big room and bathroom with great amenities.
- Laurie (9/5): - Modern clean and comfortable
Would stay there again The stairs
- lee (10/5): Fabulous room loved the kitchenette small and well thought out. a wow bathroom - N/A The bed was a little hard and uncomfortable, would have been better with a tempur topper on it to
- Sharon (7/5): The property was so central to harrogate town centre. The room itself was disappointing and hallway - The bathroom was very modern and clean. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bedroom reminded me of my student room. More Boho less chic. The main houses communal area was very shabby. The towel rail in the bathroom wasn't working. The decor in the bedroom needs updated and the paintwork needs cleaned.
- ben (10/5): -
- Tristan (9/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): Great stay perfect location - Spotlessly clean and nice decor. Location ideal right next to the town centre, but quiet at night. This was our second stay here. Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Perfectly located for our needs. Comfortable and good value. - Comfortable, clean, well located. Nothing
- Beverley (10/5): So good we came back - Second time staying here, different room this time. Location is perfect, room is great with a very firm and comfy bed, bathroom gigantic, handy little kitchenette in bedroom, lovely and warm on a cold winter’s day, pristinely clean. Highly recommend!
- Emma (10/5): -
- Dan (8/5): Absolutely fine - Nicely decorated. Friendly staff. Bit loud outside
- Gail (9/5): Excellent value for money, good location. - We stayed in Room 1, very comfortable plenty of space. Had everything you could need. Sofa bed was a bit tired structurally. We only used it as a sofa but the top part did tend to slide forwards when sitting.
- Dean (5/5): Very disappointed - Great location close to everything Stayed before thought it was great so booked again but I was left disappointed this time room was cold and you can adjust the heating stayed in room 5 and the room door constantly rattling and strange humming noise overhaul very disappointed my wife and I have hardly slept due to the noise
- Scott (8/5): Lovely room with big bathroom - The bathroom was huge and felt luxurious. Large free standing bath and nice new fittings. Nice bed and kitchenette, with some basics needed for snacks, but for hot meals better to go into Harrogate. Free milk and tea/coffee was a nice touch Not much they can improve, maybe free parking.
- Chris (10/5): - Great location in the centre of Harrogate big room with an even bigger bathroom and very responsive to any queries you may have. Would definitely stay again.
- Jon (9/5): Great location and cosy apartment - Excellent location and a spacious apartment.. very clean and looked after Nothing tbh very nice stay
- Lorraine (8/5): Lovely central overnight stay - Great location and great price for an overnight stay 👍🏼 Spacious rooms and bathroom and really good communication from management from start to finish. Definitely book rear car park if you're traveling by car. This is preference, but pillows too flat and bed a little hard. 😴 Appreciate that may be someone else's dream sleep though.
- Nicky (9/5): -
- Rob (8/5): -
- susan (10/5): - Great location . Lovely room. Very comfy bed. Huge bathroom. Everything we needed. Will recommend and return
- Jess (10/5): Great one night stay - Great location, spacious and well equipped. Nothing
- Kelly (10/5): -
- Alex (10/5): Excellent - The bathrooms was lovely. Bed was very comfy. The lady on what’s app was very attentive. Great value for the money. The only thing I would say if to have normal coffee in the room rather than a cafeteria. Also the room doors were very noisy.
- Rosemary (7/5): - super location close to centre of Harrogate. in the dark quiet difficult to find the parking area and get into the property from the rear.
- Rebekah (10/5): -
- Sharon (10/5): Superb stay - Excellent location for the convention centre. The facilities in the studio were super and gave us the opportunity to cook our own meal. Beverages were provided in ample amounts, even biscuits and crisps and even a small bottle of proper milk in the fridge. On arrival the young gentleman was very polite and helpful and even offered to carry our bags to the room. The bathroom was amazing, wish I could have packed it up and taken it home.
Nicole couldn't have been more helpful or quicker responding to my request to turn the heating up. We were very chilly when we arrived, (2degrees outside) my friend has Reynards syndrome so feels the cold alot more, but she was soon comfortable when Nicole adjusted the heating. Will definately come back. Could have done with a plug for the kitchen sink, but everything else was superb.
- Elaine (9/5): A very very nice hotel - A large comfortable room, huge bathroom with both walk in shower and free standing bath.
Loved the 'kitchen' cupboard, microwave, toaster, sink and a supply of tea, coffee & biscuits. Milk in the fridge was very much appreciated.
The decor is quirky and interesting ( as shown in
Photos) a nice change from big chain hotels.
The location is great with restaurants and bars virtually on the doorstep and centre of Harrogate only minutes walk away.
A very nice hotel.
- Ned (10/5): - Nice, clean, fantastic bath
- Gavin (10/5): Spot on! - Room really clean, great facilities. Good location. Comfortable bed. N/A.
- Lynne (10/5): Fabulous stay in Harrogate. - Convenient location for the Convention Centre. We'll laid out, comfortable and clean.
Had all the amenities we needed for a self catered stay. It wasn't a dislike, but a microwave in the kitchenette would gave been a good addition.
- Laura (8/5): - The decor was really fun. The artwork and the furniture. The kitchenette works well. The bathrooms are hilariously big and out of proportion for the bedrooms. Location was perfect. Communication good. Only one key in a twin room. We kept having to worry about who had it. A simple second key would have helped us significantly. The beds aren’t particularly comfortable. The blinds take forever to put up and down which was just annoying.
- Alain (10/5): - Straightforward to check in, room was made beautifully, both bedroom and bathroom were spacious, bed was comfortable and the small kitchen had everything we needed
- Andrew (9/5): -
- TandyKelly (8/5): Beautiful place , right on top of the city centre - Bathroom was stunning , shower and bath where the best part Pillows need changing and the noise above
- juliana (9/5): recommended place to stay ! - Fantastic location, lovely rooms particularly the bathroom!
recommended!
- Angela (8/5): We would book again - especially if we can have the room slightly warmer 😁 - Great location
Really easy to access key and get in
Comfy bed
Large clean bathroom
Lovely extras such as t bags milk and biscuits It was too cold
We were contacted by email and advised to let them know if we needed anything
The email was a “no reply”. I sent 3 emails requesting the hearing to be turned up but all 3 bounced back.
Was warm enough in bed but did prevent me from enjoying the lovely bath.
- andrew (9/5): Great location, clean, stylish, and great value for money. I would go back - Great location, clean, stylish, and great value for money. I would go back
- Tim (10/5): wonderful experience - Location ideal, facilities outstanding
- Faraj (9/5): We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again next time we are visiting Harrogate - Spacious, clean, modern, great location No luggage storage to keep
Luggage for few hours after check out
- Claire (10/5): - Great place with everything you need, a lovely big
bathroom with bath and a shower.
Great location would definitely stay there again. Nothing.

- Lewis (10/5): A+++ accommodation! - Great little flat, very well located, all amenities, comfy bed. Like home!
- Michelle (10/5): Had a very enjoyable stay - The location is excellent the bathroom is amazing Nothing
- Aimee (7/5): Good for a weekend getaway - Well located and well appointed rooms for a short stay, no staff on site but responsive via WhatsApp/messenger and helpful Not the most suitable for travelling with a baby, our room was on the top floor and there was no lift and the room was very cold
- Claire (10/5): Great property - Love this place, the location is brilliant, rooms are a good size, bathrooms are huge. It has everything you need. Communication from the owners is great too via Whatsapp, both before and during your stay. N/a
- Carla (9/5): -

I'd definitely stay again
