Guest Reviews
- Emma (8/5): -
- Liz (9/5): - It was nice and away from everything but close enough if you needed to go into town.
Quiet.
We went during the week so there was no.one there not sure how it would be if other people stayed in the remaining cabins
- Peter (8/5): - Private, beautiful location, great room with good amenities.
- Jayamini (8/5): Worth for money - It is a calm and peacefull place. It wasn't clean properly at kitchen.
- Joshua (9/5): -
- Wright (8/5): It was a lovely stay, in a calm, serene location. We would definitely stay again very soon- though arrive before dark as - The property was very tranquil, calm and quiet. We loved it. The interior of the yurt was very well decorated and with useful amenities too. Very clean and comfy. The shower also had a lovely shampoo, conditioner, and body wash available to use which was a lovely touch. The shower didn’t become warm, so a cold morning shower was had. Though probably an issue through our booking on booking.com, we hadn’t received photos or a site map prior to checking in- although we had received instructions etc which were very helpful.
Just a small note- the windows didn’t have any blinds which was great for the morning and waking up with the sun, however they may be useful so guests can decide whether they’d like them down at night or not.
- Marina (10/5): Comfy peaceful stay - Location, sauna, modern but in the nature, comfort, peace I wanted to take a bath in the bathtub but was no bathtub plug, so I couldn’t. Was disappointing.
- Merita (10/5): -
- Marina (10/5): Be warmed by fire, soothed by water and lulled by the beauty of the Mongolian yurt. Sublime! - With natural beauty in all directions, nothing compares to sitting around a glowing campfire, bathing under the stars or birdsong, and sleeping in a beautiful circular dwelling as the rain patters on the canvas roof. The Mongolian yurt felt like home after one evening and we didn’t hesitate to book extra nights. Enjoying the Victorian style bathtub was so wonderful, especially after our 10k waterfall hike. It was an experience we truly needed for our hearts and city weary minds. So grateful this place exists…thank you Kanimbia cottages 🤗

- Kirsten (10/5): Excellent get away - Quiet, beautiful, private, cosy and warm, good amenities
- greg (10/5): Tranquil and serene in stylish comfort - The cabin was so comfortable and welcoming. The surrounds are beautiful. It was so peaceful and relaxing. Great views of the stars and Milky Way at night. Perfect as a base to stay and explore for a couple of days, or just stay in and enjoy! Lovely deck to take in the view. Can't wait to come again and stay longer. Nothing!
- Clifford (8/5): Great little stop over. Would like to go back sometime. - The breakfast we brought was good.
Great value for money. Friendly service. Bore water was a little rough to drink.🤣
- Ry (8/5): -
- Lewis (9/5): -
- Tim (8/5): Peaceful - Peace and quiet. No light pollution so the stars were amazing. Not entirely sure why there are cameras all over the place given the remoteness of the location.
Not a problem to me as such, just a little strange.
- nawoda (10/5): -
- Tristan (9/5): recommend - Audrey, the host was super kind and other staff as well. there were 4-5 birds staff as well. when i came back atafternoon they welcomed me more than my own kids, bit of smell
- Coco (10/5): - Stunning location! I loved the rainforest immersion, bathing, sauna, icebath and pool under the trees. I cannot wait to come back again. Interior of the tiny home needs a deep clean to remove dust build up, I reccomend washing all utensils/cups before using them.
- Sonia (9/5): -
- Bob (7/5): Suited our needs but lacked maintenance - Perfect for a rain forest location next door to Mapletown National Park. The view from the verandah was perfect during day but a little active at night with insects. We parked our car at base of a step to verandah and there it stayed for the 4 days as at 80 we required isolated peace time and we not interested in walking trails. This Lavender cottage was perfect for our needs no TV and total solitude. Lack of maintenance. Windows difficult to open, broken latch to same, Front door needed maintenance to latches. Shower head needs desperate rectification as tightening nuts welded into place. Beware, only timber stools to bench and most uncomfortable for long periods. The hanging swing chair was also uncomfortable. Absolutely no hanging space for clothes, so get used to living out of suitcase placed on floor.
- Aleka (10/5): Forest soak - The kindness of the hosts really stood out — when my car battery died, they immediately helped us without hesitation. I stayed in the Mongolian yurt, which felt incredibly peaceful and private. The whole place has such a serene atmosphere, surrounded by nature and horses nearby which added to the experience. I especially loved the outdoor bath facing the forest and the outdoor shower — it felt very relaxing and unique. The kitchenette was also a great touch and made the stay even more comfortable. ✨ The only minor downside was that the shared bathroom is about 45 metres away from the yurt. It wasn’t a major issue, but it’s something to keep in mind, especially at night. Overall, it didn’t take away from the experience.
- Rod (10/5): You won’t ever forget your stay! - Everything there is fantastic.
Audrey is a incredible host and the accomodation is unbelievable.
Nothing beats that landscape.
An absolute marvel among trees.
Thank you, Audrey!! Nothing to dislike about it.
- Prakash Subedi (7/5): -
- Katherine (10/5): 2 nights away to just unwind and relax with my partner - How peaceful it was and was able to just relax and unwind N/A
- Brooke (8/5): Beautiful -
- Kayla (10/5): Perfect last minute getaway - A perfect 50min drive from Caloundra for a last minute kid free night.
- Joyce (8/5): -
- Macfarlane (8/5): It was a picturesque location with beautiful views and the cottage was very clean - The cottage was very clean. The location was quiet and secluded. The bed was hard and the pillows were hard
- Esther (10/5): The perfect nature escape we were dreaming of! - Everything was perfect, the nature, the view, the quiet, the design of the cabin, the decoration, the location. Everything was so restful for the soul! We didn’t know if we wanted to stay inside or outside! When we arrived, the door was fully open and we were afraid something had gotten inside as it was already dark outside. But it was more personal fears than actual threat!
- Samantha (10/5): - The Yurt in the dirt was such a beautiful little glamping tent cottage. Peaceful and secluded but still few cottages around so you’re not fully alone. The outside shower and bath was so cool and perfect to unwind in. They provided fire wood. The perfect little spot to getaway for the weekend, would 10/10 recommend!!
- Jada (8/5): - The tiny house was cute and had its own pool. Firepit area The aircon unit is right outside where you sleep and vibrates the whole time
- Stockmeier (10/5): -
- Cindy (8/5): -
- Ahmed Bin (9/5): - Every thing was good.
- Kelly (10/5): Peace and quite. - Quite, peaceful, beautiful area.
- Paul & Rebecca (10/5): Tranquil piece of Paradise x - Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. Tiny home is complete with all furnishings and amenities.
Stunning view over looking rainforest, with private pool, outdoor bath, sauna and ice bath.
2nd stay here and certainly won’t be the last!
Audrey (Host/Bookings manager) is just wonderful also.
A peaceful, tranquil place to visit with plenty to do for the adventurer too (National park walks with beautiful views and nearby waterfalls)
15 minute drive to neighbouring townships which have lovely restaurants, novelty shops and attractions
- Karen (9/5): - Serenity Nil
- Rhona (8/5): -
- Marny (8/5): -
- Gilbert (10/5): - Lovely location
- Scott (10/5): - Well designed boutique cabin in private bush surrounds. one of the best ive ever stayed in. i think the best!
- Alicia (8/5): Loved!!! - Amazing facilities, we had such a relaxing stay!! Great communication from the staff, although slightly arsey in the response
- Ben (10/5): - Great spot with friendly host
- Emily (9/5): -
- David (9/5): -
- Jensen (10/5): Krishna Farm Retreat - Loved the accommodation, peacefulness, and location. The accommodation was super clean and tidy. Enjoyed just relaxing and taking in the lovely surroundings. Big shout out to Audry, who made our stay exceptional. Waking up to the horses close by was a really nice touch. Time went too quickly, and I will be booking another break at Krishna Farm Retreat. Loved it all
- Ortiz (10/5): -
- David (9/5): - Location; Beautiful environment; Peace and quiet; Excellent pre-arrival directions; Solid attractive building and decor; Comfort. Lack of main door lock (security); Lack of carving knife or bread knife; Lack of compendium; Curtains trailing on the floor (need hemming); Dirt road.
- Natasha (10/5): Farm retreat stay - Farm retreat easy drive… away from everything. It has a beautiful rustic charm. Good pod coffee machine maker and milk frother.
Comfortable bed. Relaxing indoor swing. Lovely balcony and bush views. Perfect place to unwind, disconnect and relax. Loved everything about this country farm stay.
There is a bbq and microwave (no stove or oven) for cooking which is lovely.
- Gabler (10/5): Peaceful - Location was stunning
- Julie (10/5): thankful for our time at Krishna Farm Retreat, blissful -
- Maddy (10/5): Wonderful, clean, quiet - The most lovely stay. Very secluded and away from the busy city. Very clean and has everything you could possibly need. I would stay here again and again and have told friends to stay here! Wonderful views.
- Stephen (10/5): Awesome - I was a patch of paradise. Loved every minute of being there Can't think of anything... maybe my stay was too short
- Julie (8/5): Lovely timber cottage - The location was very peaceful & lovely views.
This is a unique cottage with lots of different artwork.
Lovely confortable bed with a swing seat.
We enjoyed our stay. Lack of crockery & decent utensils & bench space. Frypan needs replacement & fridge needs defrosting.
- Cameron (9/5): -
- ash (10/5): Peaceful - The location and views were beautiful, the peace, quiet and serenity were unreal, we had the best sleep in over a week. Beautiful facilities, stunning views and the cabin were quaint and cute. Our stay was far too short
- Holly (10/5): -
- Irina (10/5): - Very beautiful place ! Everything was perfect
- Tim (10/5): -
- Paul & Rebecca (10/5): Lovely cabin, perfect for relaxing and being amongst nature - The overall presentation, peacefulness and the scenic views of our cottage was amazing.
Humble, clean layout of the cabin which provides a welcoming and relaxing feel to it. Mattress on the bed, in saying this - most places lack a comfortable pillowtop mattress with support.
- Jody (9/5): - Great location and great facilities. We had a great stay. Very quiet. Only comment is that it was a little difficult to find the entry driveway in the dark. Could add something that is highly reflective.
- Curtis (9/5): -
- Mary Franz Smith (10/5): - We love the room, the place help is reconnect again as a couple and very quiet at night time. The sounds of the birds in the morning are very relaxing. Probably need more coffee and sugar for the couple to enjoy. Maybe add some little biscuit for a welcome to the guest.
- Collette (7/5): A beautiful opportunity ro relax and reconnect. - The tiny home is situated in a beautiful location. Very private and relaxing.
The tiny home was comfortable and amenities were good. Host was very responsive. Unfortunately there were obvious signs of damp which could be easily resolved with a deep clean. Would recommend using a larger car due to the 7km of unsealed road to get to the property.
- Philippa (6/5): - Nice location, but a bit far out on a dirt road for some. Do take dinner with you. Very relaxing The bed. Very firm double bed. My husband needs a double just for himself. If you have a drink in the Arvo, you can't really drive in for dinner
- Alana (8/5): -
- Donna (8/5): Really lovely.we’ll be back - Lovely location. Very private. Very comfortable. Loved the visiting butcherbirds and magpies. May could have better lighting in the bathroom. Other than that, nothing we didn’t like.
- Pablo Barrientos (10/5): -
- Tina (9/5): Great little cabin in the woods. We had a quiet peaceful stay. - Very peaceful! Love the inside swing. Maybe supply a small electric hotplate for when the weather is wet and cold outside.
- Gunston (9/5): - Everything about the experience! Worth a night's stay
- Sherrie (10/5): -
- Simone (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicholas (10/5): We came for a nourishing weekend away for our anniversary and walked away feeling completely satisfied - Coming into our accomodation it Felt like “coming home”. Very comfortable and welcoming.
We loved the tranquility of our space and allowed us to disconnect (which was a our game plan) Next time we come, we will plan a little better for bringing food with us to cook at the accommodation rather than driving the distance into the township
- Gillian (9/5): Very enjoyable stay would highly recommend - I liked the seclusion of the room made you feel like you were in the middle of nowhere. Also the accommodation was well set out and very comfortable.
- Lee-anne (9/5): Awesome secluded getaway. - Lovely cabin in an awesome secluded location. Loved my stay. Shower needs updating but still does the job. Found it difficult to locate firewood. Landscaper showed me where to find it.
- Sam (9/5): Just what we needed . Quiet . Relaxing . We had everything we needed the out door fire put was prefect for the cold nigh - Beautiful location nice and secluded . Unique . We arrived around 7-730 ish I think .. so being night time we found it a bit difficult trying to see where we were going and where our little house was .. apart from me being a little hard to ee at night .. this place was amazing .
- Amy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marnie (10/5): We had such an incredible time and will without a doubt be back soon. - The privacy, the sauna, ice bath and outdoor bathtub where incredible Instructions to the property could have been clearer but we didn’t mind the slight detour
- Vicky (10/5): Quiet- away from it all a pretty little cabin in the woods - Peaceful It was perfect - as described
- Anthony (8/5): - Great, quiet and relaxing
- Alla (9/5): Superb - Location is fantastic! It was so quiet and calm.
The little cottage feels like home. I will definitely return to this place soon and will recommend to my friends. No soap in the bathroom, one lamp did not work. But otherwise it was beautiful stay!
- Toni (10/5): - Beautiful place to stay, very clean and cosy, with a beautiful view.
Will stay longer next time
- Liam (10/5): Very comfortable and relaxing with a touch of nature! - The rustic vintage feel was amazing! The homeowners go above and beyond in regards to amenities and comfort. It’s in a fabulous location deep into the Sunshine Coast hinterland. I couldn’t use a camp fire due to the rain haha
- Josh (10/5): - Amazing get away. So peaceful and quiet.
- Kay (8/5): Very good - The surrounds & privacy. The tranquillity. Bed was uncomfortable. Length of stay too short for price. Sauna & icebath were extra cost but not stated when booking.
- Maia (10/5): Amazing Trip! - The property is located in a lovely area—conveniently close to everything and very easy to get around. The natural surroundings are absolutely beautiful, with the calming sounds of birdsong and the gentle rustle of leaves creating a peaceful atmosphere. Lush greenery and local wildlife add to the charm, making the whole place feel alive and refreshing.
- Jamieson (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer - The tiny house was stunning, great location and super private. NA
- Silvia (10/5): Perfect to unwind! :) - I am a local and planned to go to the hinterland to have a bit of "me time" and unwind. The Watarra Cottage was the absolute best place for it! It was a rainny weekend and I got there with the sunset. It was a short stay, yet so beautiful! I loved to sit outside on the balcony and watch the rain, hear the birds and the wind blowing the trees. The heater kept the cottage warm inside and I LOVE the low warm light to keep it all nice and cozy. If you haven't watched the video that the owners made for each of their cottages/tiny house, please do so. You can feel how much they love every little thing they have in their cabins :) I will certainly be back !
- Simon (10/5): Modern luxury surrounded by nature - The whole day in the ‘tiny home’ was lovely. Total luxury but in a beautiful setting around nature. All the host instructions were super helpful and the way the property was set up was stunning. All the modern luxuries you need like hot water, well stocked amenities and lots of cute Personal touches like games and candles to ensure you really enjoy yourself and the meditation space was so enjoyable.
- Siwani (5/5): Passable -
- Roseanne (9/5): peaceful, refreshing stay in lovely environment - Location lovely, breakfast not included, peaceful and quiet bbq lighting difficulties in wind, no hotplate inside only microwave,
- James (10/5): Amazing little place, very romantic and private. - Everything was perfect, amazing little place with tons of privacy. Did not see another person while we were there. Check in and out is a breeze, it's a wonderful location and the cabins are simply amazing! Amazing getaway for a couple, very romantic. There's nothing I didn't like, everything was perfect and we will be back again. The local birds are very curious and will likely steal any unattended food on the veranda, but that's not really a problem that's just nature.
- Jason (9/5): Superb -
- Damion (10/5): Exceptional -
- Samantha (10/5): Perfect location for a peaceful stay 🪻🏠 🪷 - Lavender cottage 🪻 perfect location for a peaceful stay. Exceptionally comfortable bed 🩵 the cabin is well equipped with everything you need. Was lovely to sit out on the deck and watch the birds. We were lucky to spot a rainbow in the valley - just beautiful 😍
- Michelle (10/5): - Was such an amazing and private stay
- Alex (10/5): Great spot to unwind and relax - We had a great stay! It was very peaceful, private and relaxing. The cabin is spacious, comfortable furniture inside and suitable furniture outside. The location is very isolated, but you know there are 3-4 other cabins around and the lady who was hosting/looking after us was very, very kind and friendly – always at the end of a phone. We enjoyed having a fire lit and a BBQ whilst we enjoyed some music and a few wines. Great for a night or two stay to unwind.
- Andrea (10/5): Amazing accomodation and we will be back. - Seclusion and serenity Nothing
- Miranda (10/5): Perfect place to recharge and reconnect with nature. - Peaceful, cosy, well-presented.
Didn’t see another person - was perfect!
Loved the inside chair swing 💚 It was all perfect!
(Except the bed squeaked horrendously every time I rolled over 😊)
