Guest Reviews
- Nicola (8/5): Enjoyed the peace and quiet with a great view across the fields. - Quiet and comfortable and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and the sofas and bed were very comfortable. It was tricky getting off the road onto the property and back onto the road, and a bit difficult to park and turn a car round. Also the decking was poor and rotten in places, making it quite difficult to fully use.
- Guest (8/5): Perfectly adequate for our trip. - Good location for nearby wedding venue. Fully equipped kitchen which included tea, coffee, oil etc Bit dated but fine for a night.
- Gintare (10/5): -
- Sophie (10/5): A perfect place to relax, unwind, and soed time with family. - The property was charming, perfect for a family and set in a beautiful location surrounded by countryside. Clean and tidy with everything a family needs, including outdoor play equipment and inside family games. The host was really helpful, accommodating and friendly.
- E C (9/5): Lovely lodge, conveniently located for visiting Hamerton Zoo and the fens. Very helpful host. - The lodge is lovely: very comfortable and equipped with everything we needed for our overnight stay. Beautiful view from the terrace over adjacent countryside. We would happily have stayed longer and hope to return. Private parking on gated drive, with trees helpfully marked to aid parking and turning. Susan is an ideal host. She responded quickly and with helpful tips to our advance queries and was on hand to help during our stay.
- Berthel (9/5): - Meget hyggeligt træhus, med udsigt til skønt naturområde.
- Helen (8/5): Adequate for overnight stay - Location to wedding venue Landscaping needs uplift
Metal steps to property slippery veranda seemed to be rotten
Difficult to park

- Anne (9/5): Great fun for the whole family 😃 - It was a great location, away from the beaten track. Great garden for the kids to run around and use the tractor and zipline. Very friendly host who communicated well and gave advice about where to go Parking around the trees was a little challenging but we managed! Pleased with the tape on the trees for extra visibility
- Rebecca (7/5): Comfortable little lodge, exactly what we needed - Location was perfect, as we were attending a wedding in a venue very close by. The bed was comfortable and the place was very clean. The hosts were friendly and accommodating, allowing us to check in early so we could get ready before the wedding. A couple of sachets of UHT milk would have been great to have in the kitchen in order to make a quick coffee before leaving in the morning. The wifi password left in the living room also didn't seem to work, but that could have been my error, and I didn't have time to troubleshoot before rushing to the wedding.

- Stephen (8/5): Ideal in so many ways. Would stay again if in area. - Very clean and well appointed property with the added bonus of frozen and tinned food made available, together with toiletries and medications, which were a very nice touch. Host was welcoming and readily offered milk so we could have a cup of tea on arrival. The living area was all that we wanted Beds were rather soft and lumpy, perhaps near the end of their practical use?
Risk of insect bites.
- Emma (8/5): What a perfect choice for an overnight stay (or longer) lovely location, beautiful views, clean, comfortable, all the fa - Beautiful log cabin, excellent location, full facilities, lovely views Nothing

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in the area, or are attending a wedding at Holmewood Hall, this is the place to stay!! There's nothing I didn't like about Woodmans Lodge, perfect!!
- Paula (10/5): I would visit again in a shot. The boys loved it. It was so tranquil. They had everything there. - The lodge was lovely. I sat outside watching the children and we saw so much wildlife. It was quite magical. Lots of things for the children to do including electric cars, zip wires and more. N/A
- Hodgkiss (9/5): Ideal peaceful location, with a local pub - Lovely location and everything you need is there
- Sheik (10/5): Perfect place and fantastic host - The property was perfect for our needs. We were attending a wedding at Holmewood Hall. The host was very friendly and went out of her way to be helpful and flexible. The lodge itself was very clean, spacious, quiet and 10mins walk from the nature reserve. Will definitely stay there again!
- Harriet (9/5): Perfect for what we needed it for. Great for the children. They didn’t want to leave. All the facilities you could need. - My children loved the garden, zip line, swing in the trees, sunken trampoline!! Very clean in the lodge. The double bed mattress, feeling every spring in our body. Kids beds great.
- Felicity (10/5): Amazing place to stay - Beautiful view.
Thoughtful touches.
Great information about the local area and hosts. Maybe, offer a thinner quilt for the warmer of days, although in the UK they are few!
- Cowburn (8/5): Lovely family getaway - Lovely location. Great garden with things to do for the kids. Well appointed and comfortable.
- Bigk (9/5): A relaxing and stress-free vacation. - Excelent facilities in the lodge.
How the wild animals - grey squirels, muntjacks(two!), rabbits and numerous types of birds - just wandered by the dwelling or came into the compound in the mornings! The access from/to the main road could be better (two large trees restricting passage, to some extent, which would cause awkward manoeuvring for a large vehicle), but not a spoiler..
- George (10/5): Lovely lodge in a great location that can be enjoyed by families or couples - Very nice place to stay, 2 minute drive or 5/10 minute walk to holmewood hall. Really nice place with a garden for kids to play, wish we had stayed longer!
- Nancy (9/5): Superb - Beautiful and peaceful location
Garden area with play equipment
Well equipped kitchen Some of the beds were not very comfortable
- Jonathan (9/5): Base for the night before a garden party nearby - Location and lodge were brilliant Nothing
- Lindsay (10/5): Great lodge lots of space - The lodge is perfect for anyone looking for space to relax in. We were a family of 4 and it was just what we needed. Not only does the lodge have everything you could think of, but the garden area has things to keep the kids occupied. The kids loved it, there is a swing, trampoline, zip line and little electric jeep. Kept our daughter occupied and helped burn off some energy after a long car journey.
We had a very comfortable stay and the hosts were very welcoming and showed us around.
Would highly recomend and we would book again in the future. Thank you We didn't have anything we didn't like
- Amanda (9/5): Superb - Lovely lodge in a secluded place, lovely patio to sit on. Very peaceful just what we wanted. Nothing.
- Heather (9/5): Perfect location, comfortable and self contained -
- Thomas (9/5): Highly recommend for families. Great value for a nice lodge that's fun and has a wonderful view - Wonderful hospitality! They set up a BBQ for us and charged an electric ride on car for my kids. My kids also loved their trampoline and zip line. We saw two baby deer out the window whilst staying and had fun making banana bread in the kitchen.
- Richard (8/5): Friendly - Seclusion and wild life Home feel in a country setting
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional - The peace and quiet. The zip wire, trampoline and swing were perfect for my son. N/A
- Rebecca (10/5): Like a home away from home! - It was so homely and comfortable - the host had thought of everything to accommodate us and make our stay lovely!
- Olga6913 (8/5): Nice hideaway from a hectic city life. - Great hideaway when you are tired from frantic city life. Located virtually in the fields, very quite, fresh air and plenty of thing to get you kids occupied (zip line, swings, etc). Susan (the host) is a very welcoming lady, she helped us out when I can't book us a taxi to go to an important event during our stay. The mattress on the double bed was too soft, a bit uncomfortable to sleep if you back is not 100% healthy.
- Paul (9/5): Stunning location and brilliant hosts - The setting was beautiful. For the kids (ok, me too) the rope swing, trampoline and zip wire across the garden was amazing and made the stay unique. The host was so kind in leaving some treats for us. Let the host know if you don't like dogs as their very friendly dog likes to come and meet the guests in the lodge.
- Barb (10/5): Excellent - The lodge was beautifully decorated, the views, very comfy Signage to the property excellant
- Shaun (10/5): Exceptional - Accommodation had everything we needed, was comfortable and clean. The setting was great and the garden was ideal for entertaining the kids. Would definitely visit again and highly recommend.it.
- Rachel (9/5): Superb -
- Wayne (9/5): Very much enjoyed it. A great place to stay and would stay again in the future without hesitation. - Loved the location. Very spacious and clean. Internet was very slow and hard to see traffic when pulling out onto the road but luckily there wasn’t too much traffic.
- Martin (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed the stay. I could happily stay again and for much longer. Highly recommended. - Location excellent. Warm cosy and peaceful. View over the meadow to the Hall was perfect. The weather even allowed half an hour sat out on the decking. The host was charming and the dog really friendly. The double bed was uncomfortable for me but the single was ideal.
- Louisex (8/5): Very good -
- Gintautas (10/5): Relaxing stay in countryside! - Location was very calm and nice. All facilities where good. Bed was very comfortable. Would recommend to my friends! All good!
