Guest Reviews
- Andrea (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were just like our family. The cottage was comfy with everything you would ever need. The dog was really safe. The Outlook and location was amazing. Brilliant little day trips into the surrounding bush was just lovely. Nothing.
- Eloise (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely service and Mary was so kind! The Tim Tams were so sweet, plenty of streaming services and my pup was super comfy! Nothing! It was great!
- Christopher (10/5): Comfortable and warm property in a great location. - The setting is serene. Sitting up among the trees with beautiful birds visiting.
There is plenty of room with a well equipped kitchen and living area.
The little touches with our host Mary provided were thoughtful (who doesn’t love tim tams). Nothing really, we’ve been on the road for a fortnight and this one’s a gem.
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lauren (10/5): Wonderful, cosy and relaxing - We loved our stay. Marty was lovely and very hospitable. A very warm welcome. The property was better than we imagined from the photos. Separate kitchen and separate bedroom with twin beds and a cot which they got ready for us. The cot was very comfy and our little one slept well. There was a kingsize bed in the living room so could watch TV in bed with the fire going. Mary had the fire going, candles and electric blankets on for when we arrived which was so cosy as it was a cold evening. We even had a decanter of port and tim tams which were a lovely addition. You literally have everything you need there. Its like a hotel, shampoo, conditioner, soap, blankets, towels etc. It would be lovely to go back in the summer and use the BBQ etc but if you want nice and cosy then great to go when its cold. Some people said cant go with a family but I disagree, its small but you can definitely fit a family. We will definitely be back! The website was a little confusing as said no children allowed when booking but mentions trampoline/water park for children so i was a little confused and had to check with Mary. The spare room is a little confusing too as thought we had to pay more but we didnt, you just need to let her know if you want to use it. It has a fence around the apartment therefore, I wasn't sure if we were able to explore the gardens or if they were private but wanted to see the playground areas, however we didn't just in case. It would have been nice for Mary to mention whether you are able to on arrival :) The spare room does get quite cold and it has a fan heater but you wouldn't be able to leave that on too long. It could be worth getting a small oil heater to put in the room during winter.
- Kerin (9/5): Great location and facilities, welcoming host would recommend to friends and family - Loved the location, outdoor area had a great view, spacious, comfortable and very clean facilities. There were personal touches including the warm greeting on arrival that made our visit most enjoyable. Bathroom was very clean, serviceable but a bit small
- Jacqui (7/5): Yarra Ranges Country Apartment...Cute & Cozy - Yarra Ranges Country Apartment is a cozy intimate little apartment attached to the main house...yet private too.
Mary, your host is exceptionally warm and inviting and makes you feel extremely welcome to her accommodation.
The kitchen is roomy, as is the living area and outdoor areas are beautiful also...if you're lucky to wake up with the sun, sitting out in the BBQ area the local wildlife luvs to come and greet you...the wild parrots & cockatoos happily flew onto the hand rails surrounding the outdoor BBQ area and onto the table where we had our morning coffee and breakfast...so beautiful. It's not that we didn't like the bathroom...it's very small and does its job...as both the shower and toilet are accessible...the shower unfortunately was great water wise for me...yet my partner had a scolding one minute and a cold shower the next...it wasn't a very fun experience for him at all...we had a feeling the washing machine or house water, shower etc must have been causing this problem...as I said...it was definitely not a fun experience for him at all...🤷🏼♀️
- Hannah (8/5): Comfortable and cosy winter hideout! - A cosy, warm and comfortable stay during a weekend of winter rain. Mary kindly made space for us to park undercover which was thoughtful. Great communication prior to our stay and very accommodating to our needs. A very busy weekend, was grateful for the space for retreat to. Thanks Mary
- Graeme (10/5): We had a nice relaxing and calming stay. - It was nice and quiet, warm and inviting and most of all relaxing. We loved how quiet and inviting it was .
- Katie (10/5): Tranquil and Peaceful - Loved how cosy it was, clean and just beautiful The bed was a bit hard but had being too linen
- Monique (8/5): This is a cute little place to get away from it all with a well equipped kitchen. Bonus having washing machine and dryer - Great location for the areas we wanted to visit. Lovely cute place
- Joseph (9/5): Wonderful, super enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable getaway holiday apartment for lots of fresh air! - Mary and Anders were wonderful hosts of our stay in this holiday home situated in the heart of Mt Evelyn, but only 20-30 mins drive away from many Yarra Valley wineries, Healesville and the Dandenong Ranges National Park.
The holiday home is well equipped with air conditioning, heating, a cosy kitchen pantry with everything you need, and very comfortable beds!
We really liked the natural surroundings of the property with its extensive backyard for kids to run about, and the many cockatoos that we saw up close in the mornings.
Yarra Ranges Apartment is a really great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life and a place to go to for lots of fresh air. Truly a gem and we hope to stay here again when we next visit! Apart from the breakfast counter in the kitchen, the main dining area is a sheltered patio which gets chilly during the non-summer months. Honestly, a good to have as we were out for meals most of the time but it would be really lovely if there were a means to have a fully enclosed patio for a family to sit around a table and enjoy.
- Nangsuan (8/5): Very good -
- Gerard (10/5): Exceptional - It was quiet, quaint, and had everything I needed. The beds were very comfortable and clean.
- Paul (9/5): Peaceful and relaxing. - Great location and a very comfortable apartment. Nothing - our stay was very pleasant.
- Joseph (9/5): Great hosts, amenities, very comfortable king size bed, cheese, port, biscuits, BBQ etc. Thankyou. - Mary was so welcoming and we were so impressed and appreciative of the attention to detail eg roses from their garden, complimentary port, cheese, biscuits. The King sized bed was soooo comfortable. We loved the view and serenity from the patio area, listening and greeting all the bird life. Highly recommend for anyone who is feeling stressed and wanting to get away from the noise of the City. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't great, but we still had a lovely time away. Thankyou Mary and Anders. Kind regards. Joe & Julie PS Great to have the BBQ for meals at night.
- Heather (7/5): Lovely place to stay, 20 minute drive to Yarra Valley. Nice place to stay for a weekend. - Apartment is very well set up. Well equipped. Outdoor area is great along with the view just as portrayed in the photos. Hosts were very helpful. Would have preferred to pay with credit card. Also if you wish to use the separate bedroom , you need to let hosts know, as we required a second bed.
None of this was evident on the website.
- Kareem (10/5): Exceptional -
- Adrian (8/5): Very good -
- Raymund (10/5): Good experience, excellent view and harm welcome from the host. - Great Location and Homely Feelings. None
- Vishal (9/5): Superb - Mary & Andreas excellent host
Clean property with charming views
- Sarah (9/5): A lovely quick getaway that could have been a night longer to appreciate the quiet and tranquility. - We did not have the breakfast option, however Mary did have extras available for us which made it special. Cheese, blueberries, Tim Tams and crackers which not all BnB's do.
It was very clean and had good utensils and facilities - if a longer stay we could have used the BBQ etc.
Very, very quiet and Mary was a lovely host. She had a lot of information for guests to access as well - which was about the surrounding areas and where to visit.
Uber access to Lilydale for dinner was great and relatively cheap too. Recommend EnTHAIced. Great Thai food. The sloping driveway was a bit tricky for my partner to access due to her mobility but other than that - nothing that we did not like. It was small - suited our needs but for a small family (with multiple children) not suitable. Perfect for couples though.
- Sarah (10/5): Cosy and relaxing stay away - My husband, 5 year old daughter and I had a delightful stay at Mary and Anders country apartment. The apartment had everything we needed. The main area was really cosy and it’s a short drive to wonderful parks and restaurants. We’ll be back to explore more of the area. 😊
- Arun (9/5): Superb -
