We booked a cruise of the bay through the hotel which was the best value by far and the hostel made sure we were dropped off and collected on time! The room was very comfortable and clean. Would stay again without a doubt. Thank you !
- Raphael (6/5): - Sehr saubere Zimmer und freundliches Personal. Im gebuchten Mehrbettzimmer hat ein anderer Gast geschlafen und es wurde spät am Abend schwierig eine Lösung zu finden. Nach längerem Gespräch mit dem freundlichen Personal haben wir uns geeinigt uns das Schlafzimmer zu dritt zu teilen, da die Option einer Änderung oder eines neuen Bettes im Schlafsaal nicht möglich war. Wir bekamen den Betrag für das Doorm-Bett erstattet !

- Michael (10/5): Alles war sehr gut! - Sehr schönes Hostel, freundliches, hilfsbereites Personal (u.A.. haben sie mir geholfen ohne große Wartezeiten eine Vietnamesische SIM Karte zu erwerben, oder als ich eine Decke brauchte war das kein Problem). Frühstück war auch gut, das bekommt man im 6.Stock, bei guten Wetter auch auf der Terrasse. Es gibt 2 sehr schöne (gratis!) Fahrräder. Leider waren die aber nicht betriebsbereit. Mit einen (sehr) kleinen Aufwand wären die das. Aber wie gesagt gratis, sprich das war für mich auch kein Problem.

- Ho (10/5): Rất tuyệt - Tôi thích không gian và tiện nghi trong phòng, giá cả lại rất hợp lý phải chăng, có cả phần ăn sáng nhưng tôi chưa kịp ăn vì phải đi sớm, phòng của tôi là phòng dorm 6 giường nhưng lại có không gian chung rất rộng, sạch sẽ và mỗi giường được chia rất riêng tư, đặt biệt dù chỉ có 6 giường nhưng lại có tới 2 nhà vệ sinh ngay trong phòng. Tôi cảm thấy rất hài lòng và thoải mái dù chỉ ở một đêm. Nếu có dịp tôi sẽ quay lại book ở đây và tận hưởng tiện nghi hơn. Nhân viên cũng rất nhiệt tình thân thiện và sẵn sàng giúp đỡ. Ko có gì cả.

- Imogen (10/5): Exceptional - We have been travelling for approx. 3 months and this has been our favourite accommodation yet! Amazing value for money, very clean. Has clearly had very good up keep. Free bicycle rental. Breakfast included was really good.

- Alison (9/5): Good - The beds were confortable. Everything was clean and there was a balcony. They helped us book the bus to come from ninh Binh to Halong but the bus company was very Bad (not their fault though). We stayed only one night. The morning, we had breakfast included with our Booking genius grade, but the woman didnt know about it and they havent planned to make breakfast. When I showed thé Booking on my phone, they made a breakfast for us. When we arrived, the adults there didnt know english at all. We were checked in by a child who didnt seem very happy to be the translator. We wanted to pay by card, they do have the machine but the woman didnt know how to make it work and we almost blocked our card. To be fair, the day after, there was a man who was able to speak english. However, he gave us wrong information about the ferry to cat ba (i searched on internet for the schedule but it told us that we had thé wrong Time, which made us worrying and arriving there very early because it turned out that internet had thé correct information).

- No (10/5): Love - I came to Ha Long after the century storm Yagi. Everything was almost destroyed. Even though the people here are concentrating on fixing it with high intensity, they are still very welcoming, open-minded, and I even had some interesting experiences here. The hostel was heavily damaged but what I saw was that my room was really clean, fragrant. They had super cool AC. Sadly, the swimming pool was being repaired so I couldn't experience it yet. But next time coming back here, I will definitely try. Highly recommend for everyone, anyone especially travelers. Nothing

The weather was nice, the scenery was beautiful too. I also booked a tour to Ha Giang from her. If I ever come back, I will absolutely book and recommend many friends of mine to come here.

- Armando (8/5): Warm, quiet place. Not a hostel - Queen is an excellent host. She went above and beyond to make our trip satisfactory and to solve some problems we encountered in our trip. She really is quite exceptional. First of all, the name hostel really does not apply to this small hotel. Don’t expect any kind of socialising here. The bathroom is barely separated from the room so no privacy there. As well, Ha Long has hardly anything to offer, so you’ll spend a long time trying to find anything worthwhile in the hotel surroundings.

I extended my stay by 2 nights in Ha Long because it was such a great deal and I had such a relaxing stay! Very clean, super comfy bed, balcony, TV with Netflix!!! - Anthony (10/5): Quiet luxurious hostel in the heart of the new development area of Ha Long's eastern side. - Jane and her family were very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. There are a lot of good food options very close by. The view from the rooftop is amazing. Only a very short walk to get a close look at the beautiful towering limestone islands. You can order breakfast on-site or head off to find your own. If you want to take a look at the extent of the development there in recent years, take a look at the timeline feature on Google Earth. It appears that tourism is slowly returning since COVID, and we stayed in the middle of winter, so the whole place is very sleepy. That's exactly what we were looking for so it was great! However, if you want somewhere with more nightlife, perhaps try BBQ hostel 2 on the other side of Ha Long

- Carlos (7/5): Nice relaxing place in a quiet area (bbq 2) - It feels very relaxing. I was supposed to be in bbq hostel Halong 1, but they asked if I could go to bbq hostel Halong 2. I didn’t mind. The area where bbq 2 is very beautiful, feels like a villa. But there is nothing to do around. Even finding a shop is hard and you will have to walk. Not many restaurants and places to go around. I always had to ask a cheap taxi to go to the main bush area. But other than that, bbq 2 is great!

- Zenabundance11 (9/5): Wonderful, very helpful and lovely to spend time there - The breakfast was very good for the price 35,000 dong. Two egg sandwiches & fruit. The beds like many other backpackers are like sleeping on concrete my only disappointment.
- Dawn (10/5): Superb hostel best I’ve stayed in. - BBQ hostel was hotel standard. Superb quality for money. I would definitely recommend. The staff were accommodating and friendly and the breakfast was tasty. Our tour to Ha Long bay was organised brilliantly and pick up was on time. Jane was especially helpful with arranging a bus back to Hanoi. Thank you. A little away from the bay.

- Rick (10/5): Super pleasant night - Well in advance the lady as me if I could come later than the date I’ve booked. Probably because they were over booked in the room that I got. Since I’m on a tight schedule, this was the only date I could and would like to sleep at bbq hostel. Instead of cancelling. She surprised me with a VIP room which was absolutely stunning. The luxury in that room is that of a multiple star hotel what you would pay a fortune in in any other part of the world. The lady was friendly and they do laundry service . Just got a couple of bucks you get all your clothes back. Clean , dry and folded. Nothing nothing. All was good. From entree to staff to room
- Ana (1/5): A Disastrous Experience - Beware of Deceitful Practices - Clean rooms The staff sold us a day tour without revealing all the details, leaving us in the dark about the conditions. To top it off, she initially quoted one price and then demanded more money, resorting to threatening tactics when we refused. The tour itself was terrible - no water provided in scorching heat for 7 hours. To make matters worse, they tried canceling our Booking.com reservation after having stayed and payed. On top of that, the rooms were small and lacked basic amenities like a desk or soap and water for 4 people. The location was far from the main tourism area, with a limited offer of nearby restaurants. Avoid this place.

- Grace (9/5): Comfortable - Very clean, comfortable beds, great value for money, quiet area, helpful staff who did our laundry and booked a transfer to Hanoi for us. Felt very safe as two female travellers. Location was far away from the main area of HaLong Bay, had to get taxis into the city area.

Staff very friendly and helpful, sweet and nice people that will make your stay easy giving you recommendations, plans, and helping you with whatever you need. Nothing, everything was nice.

- Nemian (9/5): Superb - The family that manages the hostel is so friendly and helpful. The dorm was clean and spacious and the two toilets are really convenient. The restaurant/bar was not open but they would still serve an amazing breakfast.

- Georgi (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing beds with a lot of privacy (in the dorm). Super friendly staff. You can get a bicycle for free to explore the city or go to the beach. Really nice area with lots of cafes around.
- Clement (9/5): Great value for money at a great location 👍 - Rooms and toilets were clean. Toilet was equipped with a hair dryer, which turned out to be super handy. Room was also spacious enough for us to move about even with our luggage. Host can communicate in good English, which made our planning to Halong Bay so much more convenient and pleasant. She even recommended places to eat in the area, and lent us umbrellas when it was raining. Location wise, it is located very close to the bay! You may take a stroll along the bay in the mornings or late evenings and enjoy the scenery. Just be careful with the road crossing 😅 Lights at the corridor are run by motion sensors and they turn off VERY quickly. Can be a tad scary when the hallways become dark.
- Huw (5/5): Passable - Room was as advertised, and staff were friendly. There were no Breakfast options, just got a egg sandwich. The facilities listed were not included (pool table, table tennis and picture of a jacuzzi). The location was poor with very little to do in the area, both my group and another group struggled to find activities within a 30 minute walk of the hostel.
