Donna (10/5): - Charming old hotel and great location. ALL of the staff, reception, bar, restaurant and room staff service was above and beyond. Our room was lovely with a sitting area looking out over the water. We went out fishing one day; the head chef prepared a beautiful and delicious meal with a couple of fish we brought back. Again, above and beyond! No lift, but did not have to take multiple flights of stairs.

Angela (10/5): Superb! - We stayed here again recently as John was doing the valentia half marathon,everything was so well organised in the hotel ,so accomadating ,even for an early breakfast.and food was amazing after the event.,a lovely touch in our rooms were the nutrition bars provided and a good luck card ,which was a lovely touch for all who did the race.staff are very helpful and friendly. And reception is wonderful.A hugh thankyou to mags again for arranging a late checkout for us after the marathon.looking forward to staying again.Thankyou Royal Valentia!.
Louise (7/5): Very pleasant experience. - Fabulous location with a real sense of history. Spotless interior and nice outdoor space with beautiful views. Overall a nice experience and good value for money. The shower in our room was broken which was surprising for a hotel of this quality. We didn’t realise until the morning after we checked in so it was too late to get it fixed or change our room. Also, some of the younger staff members could have been a little more friendly and welcoming. For example, when we went for breakfast in the morning, we weren’t greeted with a “good morning” or “hello” but simply “what is your room number”. I do not mean to be pedantic but I really think this hotel could be excellent if it worked on a few details.

Disap - Location and comfort Breakfast very poor , tea had the most peculiar taste , when I asked one of the staff , she said it was regular tea , unable to drink it . Had a cooked breakfast but again not able to eat it as sausages cheap and fatty , also black pudding peculiar taste so didn’t have any breakfast .
Patricia (9/5): We adore this hotel and will be back - This is a proper old fashioned hotel with charming and well trained staff, a proper dining room , and a superb situation overlooking the harbour. Our bedroom was delightful and nice and big. A chef's special would have been nice as with the same menu for a week, it's sometimes difficult to vary your choice. A seperate residents bar would be an asset.

planb4ugo (10/5): Everything you could possibly need under one roof - Location is special and the views are amazing. Everything under one roof as the hotel has a bar and restaurant on site. The food in the restaurant was great and the service and atmosphere in the bar was equally good. In better weather the hotel has outdoor seating perfect for sitting out with your drink of choice. This is an older building which has been remodelled in a way that every room is different. I had a small double room that was perfectly formed and my friends shared a very large double/triple room with outside access to the patio area. All very happy with our rooms. Breakfast the following morning was plentiful, good quality and included my absolute fave PORRIDGE ! Keep up the good work.....we will be back.

Eveline (8/5): Valentia Island ist wunderschön! Gutes Hotel, um die Insel zu erkunden! - Wunderschöne Lage direkt am Hafen! Wir hatten Zimmer 505 mit 2 grossen Fenstern zum Hafen. Wunderbarer Blick! Haben es sehr genossen. Haben 2x im Restaurant gegessen. War ok. Super Ausflugsziele von der Reception erhalten! Bett ist bereits ein bisschen in die Jahre gekommen, aber die mega Lage macht das wett. Personal im Restaurant nicht aufmerksam und eher desinteressiert. Schade!

Es entstand der deutliche Eindruck, dass Booking.com-Gäste schlechtere Zimmer erhalten. Unser Zimmer befand sich in einer abgelegen Ecke des verwinkelten Hotels. Das WLAN funktionierte nicht. Trotz Reklamation wurde das Problem nicht behoben. Ein Zimmerwechsel wurde uns nicht angeboten, obwohl ausreichend freie Kapazitäten vorhanden waren.

Full Irish breakfast served without beans this is nonsense.
