- Somasree (1/5): Horrible - It was a horrible experience. The place looked clean but had the worst smell. The bedsheets and cover was dusty and no one was available on the property which is completely fine if the room was equipped. Just the worst experience. It wasn’t clean. Bedsheets were dusty and the smell in the room was terrible.

- Niveditha (9/5): - Really liked the location of the property. The property is small but beautifully maintained and extremely clean.
A caretaker is always available to help, and the entire space has a homey welcoming energy.

- Anand (5/5): Unsatisfactory - It was peaceful and quite. There was water leak coming via stairs outside the room. Balcony is not covered from top and is fully wet and the chair has fungal or mould growth. Bed wasn't comfortable at all for sleep. Not worth the money charged. Especially when there is no parking available.

- Debakshi (1/5): Bad - I made the reservation weeks in advance, just to reach there and get told that they have overbooked and hence have given my room to someone else. What’s the point in making prior reservations and then not getting a room. There are two agencies - a booking agency and the property owners and there is complete chaos between them. Had a terrible experience and would not recommend this property to anyone.

- Jeroen (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and nice cozy room. Location is good. Evreything is walking distance just jew town is a small tuktuk ride but also walkable if you have time.

- Ali (5/5): Not bad but not great either - The best thing about Tamara Wellness Stay in Kochi is Shahid, who welcomed us and helped us settle in for our 2-night stay. He was incredibly helpful and very enthusiastic, and if it hadn't been for him I would be giving a lower rating.
The location is great, near the heart of Fort Kochi, so most things are very accessible if not by walk then are a short rikshaw/tuktuk ride away. There is no lift/elevator, only stairs, so if you have problems with stairs, this is defitely not for you. We stayed on the 2nd floor and there is at least one more floor above. Shahid took our heavy suitcase up so that made the stairs climb easier.
Our room looked really nice, very classic looking but also very clean. It also looked bigger than I had imagined, having seen the photos and read a review which said that the room looked smaller than in the photo.
There is a wooden wardrobe which should be more than large enough for two people's clothes, a side table for a laptop or to work on, and by the door there is a large surface for keeping things on. There are also two table lamps, and a good number of power points.
There is an excellent AC system which I struggled to get to work until I discovered a secret compartment in the remote which if you slide it open lets you change the mode, so if you select the "snow flake" icon, only then can you adjust the temperature. The reason it is so excellent is that not only does it not radiate any light into the room at night (a problem we have had in other places), but it is almost completely silent, which is exactly what you need in an AC as it doesn't affect your sleep. One problem with the room is the bed mattresses. They are way too soft and don't allow one to sleep comfortably at night. The same is true for the pillows, which are very soft. I spoke to the owner as well as to Shahid to see if anything could be done about it, but after checking mattresses in another room, they were exactly the same and no other mattresses were available. Also, the room was advertised as a double-room with a large double bed (on booking.com), but in actual fact it is two single mattresses on single beds joined together. This may or may not be a problem for you.
Another problem is lack of ventilation. The room has lovely windows which you can, but shouldn't, open. Shouldn't because you will undoubtedly let mosquitos in, of which there are plenty at any time of year around Kochi, and that can't be helped. There are no mosquito nets on the windows at all, as they are just old-fashioned glass windows which open outwords. This means that you are stuch with the AC the entire night, and that isn't ideal for breathing well. The only place which does have mosquito netting is the bathroom
We only had breakfast on the first morning (we left early on the second), and it was idli sambar and pineapple. Although we requested it for 9:00am, it was already cold by the time we sat down to eat it. Apart from the fact that it was cold, it really was very plain and wasn't the most exciting idli sambar we have had. It doesn't appear to be made on the premises (there is no kitchen) so most likely it is ordered from somewhere and kept until guests are ready to eat. There is only a single table on the ground floor so guests most likely need to take it in turns to eat during busy times.
