Guest Reviews
- Gary (10/5): Beautiful modern new build bungalow and spotlessly clean - 3rd time staying here and it won’t be the last. It’s a beautiful modern bungalow with everything you need for a great stay and only 200 yards from the town centre.
- Gaynor (10/5): Perfect little bolt-hole for a stay in ashbourne - Very comfortable and quiet but super convenient location close to town
- Robert (10/5): Ideal short stay - Very modern, absolutely spotless and thoroughly comfortable. Nothing.
- sue (9/5): we had a very nice stay in the bungalow - nice and spacious location was very handy for town . The owner was very helpful when the fridge freezer stopped working. he couldn't have done more it was sorted very quickly. Ian the owner brought us a coke fridge to use and we got a brand new fridge freezer installed before we left the right hand side of the mattress wasn't very comfortable
- Sophie (9/5): Cute "cottage" feel - The house was an excellent size, perfectly clean and comfy. Has a cute cottage feel for a new build. It was perfect for one night but I can imagine a couple of days would be nice too, it felt homely. Not a dislike as such but the sofa bed is quite uncomfortable, you can feel the bars a lot which is a shame as it doesn't lend itself to a good night's sleep but I can imagine it's not used often. It was great that it was already made and easy to pull out though.
- Corey (9/5): -
- Tony (10/5): Perfect for our needs. Thank you - Excellent location. Well equipped The sofa bed was not particularly comfortable
- Rebecca (9/5): -
- Sally (8/5): A nice comfortable house with most of what you need for a short stay - Easy comfortable good location Low gate instead of tall gate and low fence between properties which doesn’t make it private or secure. Also need place to put toiletries in bathroom and also all the doors don’t close which is frustrating when you have an animal and are trying to stop them going into rooms and also keep them safe
- Leanne (10/5): -
- Beccy (7/5): -
- Cassie (6/5): Lovely cottage in a lovely town. - Lovely little cottage in a really good location.
The property appeared clean and well kept.
Parking for one car outside.
Great location for going to Alton Towers. The bedding and towels smelt awful, we couldn’t work out if it was that the pillows and duvets that were dirty or whether the laundry hadn’t dried properly after being washed but I couldn’t use the pillow as it was so bad.
The sofa bed is not very comfortable and a duvet had been wrapped around the mattress to add some comfort.
The kettle is shorting and you have to keep moving it on its base for it to complete its boil.
We were sent instructions before arrival about reversing out the street and not to use anyone’s drive to turn around as was a cul de sac, it felt unsafe reversing out of the street onto a road I observed cars speeding up.
- Williams (6/5): Good location - The location was great. No shelf in bathroom for toiletries, bar stools instead of chairs not great at mealtimes with small children. Beds were very uncomfortable both the pull out bed, and bed in the bedroom.
- Philip (7/5): Lovely Location. Some small improvements needed. - This modern bungalow is perfectly located within walking distance of Asbourne's marketpace and centre; everything was within walking distance.
Check in was simple and easy. Communication was clear.
It offered most of the things you would need e.g. towels, outdoor furniture, tea, coffee etc which allowed for a comfortable stay.
The bathroom was very clean. The shower was excellent too.
We felt the property was pretty good value for money too. We felt the property was not as clean as it could be: the sides and windowsills had a build up of dust; the windows were filthy; the TV was covered in fingerprint marks; as you walked into the hallway to the coatstand, a brush was hung up covered in hair and dust; there were cobweb strands hanging from the ceiling in the lounge/kitchen area and the skirting boards were all thick with dust.
Additionally, we really struggled to use the freezer as all the drawer fronts were snapped/broken. There was also a build up of ice. It could certainly do with thawing out.
We were very grateful for the garden area and furniture provided. However, the fence between the ajoining property was very low. Luckily, there were no individuals in the next garden at the time, but had there been, privacy would have been non existent and it would have made us feel slightly uncomfortable. Some may love the opportunity to be social, for us, we like privacy when going away.
- Marie & sasha (10/5): - Very modern, clean, the shower was amazing, the bed was very comfy and very central to all the facilities I would recommend and stay again. The only negative is the curtains in the bedroom let lots of light in and you have to check out early. 12 would have been nicer, so you don't have to rush as much in the morning. .

- chris (6/5): - Great communication and arrival details. Fantastic location for centre of Ashbourne. Nice and clean. Great shower! Nice and clean but lacked personal touch. Missing a few basic essentials, no cleaning cloths or kitchen roll so couldn't actually clean round when we left. No teaspoons to make tea. Some things that make a difference when listing it as 'beautiful cottage'. The internal doors don't fit properly and the hinges squeak. Nice modern bungalow but would maybe benefit from a little TLC.
- Emma (10/5): Fabulous! - The location was fabulous, just a short walk into town. The accomodation was beautiful, very clean and had everything we needed. Ian was very friendly, attentive and responded quickly to my emails. Everything was perfect!
- Kelli (9/5): Great accommodation for an Alton Towers stay with kids! - Couch was comfy. Lots of extra bits and pieces were incided, washing/dishwasher tabs and oil and salt etc. That was really handy. My kids said the sofa bed was the comfiest thing ever! The bed was a little hard for me, but pillows were super comfy!

- Rukash (8/5): - This is a newly built property with all the mod cons. Location is great as the town center is 5 minutes away by foot. Parking outside the property is a bonus. Thanks to Ian for letting us park at the property a couple of hours prior to checking in at 1500 hrs. The carpet in the bedroom needed a good vacuum as there were dog hairs in places
- Faye (10/5): - It was close to the centre, lovely apartment with everything you need
- Brogan (10/5): -
- Sara (10/5): - Location is brilliant, so close to the town and a lovely park. Cottage is really well appointed, good shower, comfortable beds, good kitchen facilities. Lovely garden which is safe for dogs. Nothing, everything was great.
- Sharon (9/5): Great stay - Great property and very comfortable NA
- Suzanne (10/5): We had a very enjoyable stay in a lovely property in a great location - Property was clean, well presented and had everything we needed for our two night stay.
The location was great, we would love to return in the future. Our stay was great, nothing not to like
- Mathew (8/5): - The property was spotlessly clean and in a great location. Bed was a bit firm for our taste and doors wouldn't shut. These are only very small things for an overall great stay
- Lucy (8/5): - Very close to the town centre of Ashbourne, host was very accommodating, we arrived early.
- Philip (8/5): - Very central location. Apartment is quite new and in excellent condition. No close parking but good paid parking nearby. Overnight parking rates reasonable. Daytime rates could get expensive.
- Simon (9/5): everything needed for our long weekend stay - Great bungalow, a well proportioned property which was clean and tidy with everything needed for our long weekend stay. The benefit of being so close to town and the couple of place we wanted to visit made its location perfect.
- Andrea Carolina (10/5): -
- Helen (9/5): -
- Katarzyna (10/5): -
- val (10/5): Fantastic - Having to back out of the drive, inconvenient- manageable but it made us very wary of accidentally crossing over other peoples drives.
- Leighton (10/5): -
- Craig (10/5): Close to city centre loved our stay - Lovely stay over here very clean had a great evening slept great 👍 Property was stunning
- Ronny (10/5): Perfect - Really clean, had everything we could’ve needed and more.
- Paul (8/5): -
- Katherine (10/5): -
- James (8/5): - location was excellent, very clean, warm (frosty weather) & comfortable not really a criticism, but one or more USB sockets would be helpful
- Kaul (10/5): Wonderful Cottage - The cottage was well equipped and spacious. It had a great location too. Nothing
- Aimee (8/5): It was a lovely place, open living room is lovely to be able to cook and still spend time with family, the location is r - Great location, property was lovely and warm and the kitchen had everything needed which was great! Stayed with 2 dogs and the back garden has a really low fence between the adjoining properties, so wasn’t ideal when letting them outside.
- Alison (10/5): Central location , lovely bungalow beautifully equipped - Immaculate property and fully equipped for a lovely mini break Nothing
- Patricia (9/5): - Lovely little place with everything we needed for an overnight stay. There was even tea and coffee available, which was much appreciated. The bed was very comfortable and we would definitely stay again. Nothing to dislike really.
- val (10/5): -
- Sally (8/5): Ideal quiet spot in Ashbourne - Delightful cottage, quiet, well situated. I have emailed the property directly with the issues we had. Please do not print this.
- Robert (10/5): A superb stay overnight in Ashbourne. Great cottage and a great town. We will be back - Modern, clean, well equipped, comfortable, great location and good parking. Nothing.
- ashleigh (6/5): Nice location, very uncomfortable bedroom - Good communication, let us check in early, which was very appreciated. Good location. Nice living room. Bedsheets are bleach stained, bed very uncomfortable, red flashing motor detector in bedroom and bright router lights made for a very poor night's sleep. Kitchen could be better equipped.
- Carl (10/5): - Excellent place and well priced
- Jan (10/5): Already stated, ideal for our trip - Location idealstayed overnight, ideal for our trip.
- Ann (9/5): A perfect stay in a great location! - It was in a great location and was as described. Everything we needed was provided. The owner was polite and friendly and responded quickly to the questions we had. Nothing worth mentioning here. There were a couple of very minor things which we have fed back to the owner and which he has said he will sort before we return.
- Sharon (8/5): Accommodation is great, exactly as advertised. - Parking and good facilities Road closed on way into property. This added an extra unnecessary hour to our journey. Would have been helpful if property had pre warned us to ignore road closure and proceed to property.
- Katie (9/5): Would return the next time we’re in Ashbourne! - Great location, fantastic amenities, very cosy! Nothing
- Ivars (10/5): -
- Gavin (10/5): - Excellent location for Alton towers (20 mins drive), cottage is outstanding beautiful inside , very homely , equipped with everything needed like parking space, dishwasher , washing machine , condiments and cleaning products, owner very polite and helpful , highly recommend, will glady use again Nothing
- Josh (10/5): Great location. Easy parking. Clean and modern with all essential for your stay. - Great clean modern property. With everything you need. Clean and modern
- Paul (10/5): Great place lovely location - The location was fantastic and the cottage was very clean and the communication with the host was great. Nothing
- Hickey (10/5): - Everything except the parking situation The parking
- Rebecca (7/5): Decent stay, and facilities were suitable, however nothing particularly special about the stay. - Clear instruction on how to get into the house, was modernly furnished, and great location close to the main part of town. Had decent facilities for a short stay. Missing teaspoons and tea towels for the kitchen. The bathroom also has no shower curtain so the water splashed everywhere which wasn't ideal. It was a little dirty on the sofa too, but not a dealbreaker.
- Christina (10/5): - Beautiful lay out clean and fresh.
Close to everything we needed.
Quiet
- Marjorie (7/5): - The bungalow was fine.
The location was excellent for walking into,Ashbourne just a few minutes walk. The parking was not good. You had to park at an angle on a slope then manoeuvre the car backwards avoiding a brick wall opposite down Coopers Close to get out as there were no turning spaces. I did it, but it wasn't ideal.
The garden was fine for my dog, but the fencing between the gardens wasnt high so easy to jump into next doors garden.
Apart from that everything was great.
- Stephen (10/5): -
- Susan (10/5): Just what we’d hoped it would be with great communication - Very clean, modern and central
- Michael (9/5): great stay, would go back when all roadworks and mess in town centre gone. - location excellent.parking a bonus.house was lovely and plenty big enough. pity ashbourne is a pile rubble at moment.seems like they doing whole town in one go. right mess.
- Julie (9/5): Had a great stay meeting up with friends who rented adjoining cottage - Excellent location and facilities Pillows and duvet
- Andy (10/5): -
- Lynda (8/5): We enjoyed our stay in Ashbourne & loved the central location of the property to town, within walking distance of sh - Modern, comfortable bed, superb central location within walking distance of a lovely park, town & The Tissington Trial & great for driving to other locations/ places of interest. Parking quite tight/ on an incline. Side gate too low if you have larger dogs, back garden - middle fence dividing properties too low once again if you have large dogs & no privacy if you want to sit outside. Not enough hanging space for clothes - very small rail/ shelving unit & only four hangers provided. A double wardrobe would have worked better. Fridge/ Freezer not being emptied completely of previous guests food/milk. Toaster not being cleaned & crumbs from it all over the tray holding toaster & kettle. Large tin of loose mixed biscuits - not sure if left in cupboard by previous guests or left by owner for previous & subsequent guests - whilst a nice thought, not very hygienic. Kettle has a loose connection- new one needed. Back door to garden hard to close & internal doors don’t close properly.
- Simon (10/5): Great short stay and will be back - Very modern and clean and a great location N/A
- Anthony (8/5): - Great location , nice and clean Sofa bed was not made up . As we didn’t get back till late was a bit of a problem . When we did get it made up it was really uncomfortable. Also there was no milk pods so we couldn’t have a cup of tea in the morning.
- Tracey (7/5): - A roomy and very clean little cottage.
Plenty of space to bring bikes in. No shelving in the bathroom to put toiletries on.
No toilet roll holder.
No hooks in the bathroom for clothing.
Saucepans need replacing they were unusable.
- Ben (10/5): -
- Alex (8/5): - This property is perfectly placed to enjoy the nearby park and town. It's on a quiet cul de sac in walking distance to areas like the Tissington Trail. The property is nicely laid out and spacious. Communication with the owner was excellent.

- Inese (10/5): A perfect base for Peak District getaway - The location couldn’t be better—right in the Ashbourne town centre, shops, cafes, and park is just few steps away. Inside, the property was spotless, well-organised, and thoughtfully equipped with a great kitchen and a comfortable bed, speedy internet, and plentiful charging points. Parking space in front of the house and small garden at the back. Host provided clear and detailed instructions, which made check-in and check-out seamless. Overall, an excellent choice for anyone seeking a relaxing Peak District getaway.

- Micah (10/5): The bungalow was lovely clean and comfortable. - Thank you for accepting our last minute stay. The bungalow was lovely clean and comfortable. We will definitely come back here if we return to Ashbourne for a longer stay.
- Svetlana (10/5): A wonderful cottage house in a great location. - A wonderful cottage house with a well-equipped kitchen. The location is great. It was spotless clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bedding did smell a bit damp and the mattress was cheap and comfortable, but otherwise, the stay was perfect.
- Razvan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional - Loved everything about this property! Clean, tidy, had everything you need for short stay. Clear communication from owner, easy to find, spacious, lots of hot water and good pressure for the shower, easy walk to town and the bed... omg... I had the best night sleep ever, so, so comfy! Great location for the walks we wanted to do and located down a quiet street. Thank you for our stay. Nothing, all absolutely fabulous!
- Claire (8/5): Well equipped bungalow close to all amenities. - Fantastic location. Close to the Peak District national park, and Ashbourne centre with good shops and lots of places to eat and drink. Good facilities in the bungalow, which was well laid out. It was a modern bungalow not a cottage. The bed was not comfortable.

- Talbot (9/5): Superb -
- Marie (9/5): A lovely cottage in a good location. - A comfortable cottage with all necessary amenities. I really liked the little outdoor patio, the proximity to town and the fact that tea, coffee and milk was provided. No shelf for toiletries in the bathroom, nor hooks for clothing.
As a non UK resident, an explanation of how the door locks worked (i.e. raising the handles) would have ben welcome.
- Katrina (10/5): Perfect place to stay. - Clean and comfortable
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nick (10/5): Exceptional -
- Robert (8/5): Very good -
- Jane (8/5): Lovely accommodation, comfortable and very close to the centre. - Lovely, compact property very close to the town centre. The host was very helpful and easy to communicate with. Unfortunately, a house is being built in close proximity to the bungalow and builders start work early. It wasn't an issue later in the day as we were out all day. Also, a lot of work being undertaken in Ashbourne Town Centre. It would be useful if the cottage had some over the door coat hooks in the bedroom & bathroom and a clothes dryer so that the tumble dryer doesn't have to be used.
- Neha (7/5): Overall had a good stay - Location , property layout and arrangements. Bed was very uncomfortable
- Neil (6/5): Fitted our requirement for an overnight stay on route to Scotland - Was very clean. Nice shower. Proximity to lovely park No dining table. Bed sheet was worn & bobbly. Garden wasn’t enclosed for dogs, needs better dividing fence & side gate. No table lamps in lounge. Tricky parking. Very basic kitchen equipment
