- Mike (9/5): Hotel Uran what is the perfect place to begin and end our hike to the top of Cerro Chirripo. Thank - Breakfast was great. The staff was really nice and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. Walls were not so soundproof. Could hear talking snoring and TVs and other rooms, but still good value for the money.

- Luis (8/5): Very good -
- Kayci (8/5): Great stay, easy access to trail, accomodating for hikers and travellers, simple yet comfortable accommodations, beautif - Right next to access trail for Parque Nacional Chirripó. They allow parking beyond your checkout for you to hike up Chirripó. Very accommodating.
- Nguyen (10/5): Wonderful . Highly recommended - Walkable to trailhead
Breakfast and lunch can b purchased
They allowed us to do quick shower after coming back from the hike
- Kai (8/5): Very good -
- Jon (10/5): Very nice - Very clean, hot shower. Right next to the start of chirripo
- Joe (5/5): Could have been more comfortable with some minor enhancements. - Proximity to the trail head is great. Free parking also. Small shop in the reception for gifts or practical items. Staff were friendly. The facilities are very basic. There is a coffee machine in the room and cups but not actual consumables like tea or coffee to be able to make in your room. There is a microwave. The hot water is hot and miss. My mattress had a lot of stains on it which wasn’t ideal and there were some holes in the towels.
- Pooja (7/5): Good -
- Violetta (10/5): Exceptional - Nice mountain view from the apartment
Good location for starting hikes
- Luis (10/5): Exceptional -

- Daniela (9/5): Great place for starting your Chirripo adventure - The hotel is as close as you can get to the entrance for the Chirripo National Park.
The rooms are nice, simple and with everything you need. The staff is really helpful and nice. There's even a physiotherapy place located in the hotel.
The bonus of this place is that you can leave your car park there until you come back from the hike and they also lend you the showers afterwards. When using booking.com, we paid way more for a room and it didn't include breakfast.
Contacting the hotel directly is $80 and it includes breakfast.
- Jeremy (10/5): Exceptional - Staff was amazing. The owner and his friends song me happy bday! I liked everything
- Alonso (7/5): Lifesaver for a heavy hike. - Location is optimal right next to the National Park entrance. You can take a shower before leaving the venue. Needs replacements on cleaning supplies, towels and bathroom soaps. Coffee must be requested on the front desk reception. Thier machines must be cleaned.

- Jannika (8/5): Excellent location at the entrance to the national park - Staff is super helpful and friendly
- Jules (8/5): Very good -
- Marvin (8/5): Very good - Perfect starting point for the Chirripo climb
Free Parking during the hike
- Jannika (8/5): Super friendly staff at the foot of Chirripo hike - The staff was extremely friendly and super helpful. They looked after us when we were late for our check in and really accommodates us during our stay and kept our car in the parking lot. Parking was a big plus for us.
Location is great to start the Chirripo hike, and to walk to the town. Room was clean, and comfortable, yet very basic for the price point.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Tawney (6/5): convenient location for Chirripó but unclean - if you’re hiking Chirripó, you should book here. The convenience of the location alone is a great value. The staff were very kind and helpful and the food was fine but keep in mind that this place is catering mostly to backpackers so it is very much a no frills kind of place. I was expecting bare bones and nothing luxury at all but even with the very low expectations, I was disappointed in the cleanliness of the room. The sheets were stained, like very stained with what looked to be drops of blood. I wouldn’t even get under the blanket, I slept on top of it. If they would invest in new clean sheets/bedding I think that this place would be a great stop but it just grossed me out. the room was very unclean. The bedding was all horribly stained.
- Katharine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diego (10/5): Exceptional -
- Henry (10/5): Great value, very friendly staff, close to trailhead and Cloudbridge - Everyone was very friendly and helpful. They even let us check out late without any fees so we could have time to visit Cloudbridge Nature Reserve, which is just up the road, and grab a quick shower before heading to San Jose. Especially considering the condition of the road, more and clearer signage on the way up from town would be helpful. We arrived at night, and the sign at the fork in the road just before the hotel was hard to read in the dark (and even during the day, to be honest).
- Linh (10/5): Excellent stay before and after Cerro Chirripo hike - Staff were extremely hospitable, especially the owner Rohel. The hotel is less than 100m away from the entrance of the hike. The food during dinner was really good as well!
- Philip (9/5): Great overall stay. - Perfect location for Chirripo hike.
Super helpful staff. Nothing - this was great
- Evert (9/5): Superb -
- Viktor (9/5): Superb - The place is an ideal starting point for the Cerro Chirripo hike. Parking your car here while you are on the hike is allowed at no extra charge which is definitely a plus. It was possible to adjust the time of breakfast so that we could make an early start. The rooms are simple, but good size and the beds are comfortable. Washing machine was not mentioned in the description, but there is one and we could have our laundry done for a reasonable price. Considering that hikers are the target group for this hotel, it might be good to have some hangers/ hooks/ or a rack around the room.
- Danelle (10/5): Great mountain accomodations! - Close to trailhead for hiking Cerro chirripo! Close to Cloudforest preserve. Comfortable room- really big. Really nice people that run the place. Good restaurant with great mountain views.. Fun souvenirs to buy after climbing chirripo. Cold showers. Kinda far walk from the parking lot to the room, although the trail to the room was cool.
- Cole (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (9/5): The cabin was spacious but simple and a little rustic. - fabulous location. We were given a huge cabin that was spacious and comfortable.
- Kelley (8/5): Perfect Launchpad for Chirripó - This is a great place that caters to Chirripó hikers. Excellent breakfast they packed up for us to take on the hike and the food in the restaurant was delicious (especially the nachos after the long hike!) The beds were really comfortable and they provide luggage storage :)
- Petar (8/5): Very good -
- Petar (8/5): Descent place to stay before/after a Chiripo visit - Good location, can be combined with the Chirripo hike, remote, safe parking place, good wifi. Water wasnt hot (usually not a pb in Costa Rica) but after 2 days hiking in the cold above it makes a difference. Fridges in the rooms are as loud as motorbikes, we had to switch them off. Pillows were massive and hard to sleep on. In general the feel was of a private room hut rather than hotel.
- Frédéric (7/5): Good - Right there where the trails start, organized to cater to hackers. Best starting point you could imagine. It got cold at night in the room, but the covers were thick enough to keep us warm. Shower was warm but not hot.
- Eneli (10/5): Perfect location to go to Chirripo - The location is excellent to go to Chirripo National Park. Just about 50m and you are in the beginning of the track. When leaving early for the hike, they pack you your breakfast.
Room had all you need, basic stuff. Bed was clean and had blankets also.
You can leave your car in the parking lot if you stay overnight in the national park. Very convinient.
- Alejandro (9/5): Superb -
- George (8/5): Very good -
- Carlos (9/5): Nice place to stay before and after the Chirripó trip, very close to the entrance and of the trail and friendly staff. - We loved how they treated us, they nicely packed our breakfast to take it to our Chirripó trip. They also kept in a safe place our belongings that we didn’t take to the trip and they allowed us to use their showers after we came back from the trip. The wifi was not the best.
