No dishwasher even though we were told to load the dishwasher and check out. Not cleaned properly. Dust on the carpets and behind doors. Shower stall extremely small and water control was odd. Super hot or super cold water. Start of autumn/winter, night was freezing cold but no heating. One heater but was no use. Kitchen was large and equipped but really old utensils.. non stick pans were bent and badly scratched. No bread toaster

• Katie (9/5): - Comfortable 3 bedroom apartment with views of the bay. Check in was easy lock box system. Accomodating hosts. Bedrooms were hot in summer. Bathrooms were not renovated with rest of apartment so showers were small with poor water pressure.

La maison avec un petit jardin Il y avait des petites fourmis partout : dans la cuisine, la salle de bains, les chambres, notre lit. Nous avons dû jeter trois brossettes intercalaires pour les dents car elles étaient pleines de fourmis. J'ai demandé au propriétaire de rembourser les frais de nettoyage. Il a refusé. Le matériel de cuisine est très vieillot. Dommage de ne pas entretenir convenablement ce bien mignon et très bien situé.

• Ingrid (7/5): Nice House in front of the sea - This house has an amazing situation just in front a beautiful beach - the living room is warm and the staff was really welcoming and helpful The bathrooms were too small and the plmubing have to be modernised We had a problèm with the washing machine and the hob but Mickael found us a solution to fix the problem !

• Mary-Anne (8/5): Spacious and well-designed modern beach house - Lovely location directly across from the beach. The property borders the main road on one side, which can be disturbing, but the house has lovely beach views at the front and hill views from the back. Hard to keep property clean because we could find no dustpan and no vacuum cleaner. The dishwasher drawers also did a very poor job.

• Paola (9/5): - Excellent space to chill by the sea in! Super comfortable, nice and relaxing. Had just about everything we needed. Loved our stay and would definitely come back. Nothing of note! Shower pressure could have been better and the sponges left in the kitchen were old/used/smelly (but there was a scrubbing brush).

• Heather (4/5): Disappointing as the accomodation was substandard - The location was excellent, very close to the beach Substandard accomodation. In the bedroom with two single beds, there was mould on the carpet by the window. The latch on the window was broken. Because there had been a power cut earlier in the week, the oven didn't work, & needed to be reset. The appliances were old & need to be updated.

• Susan (9/5): Fabulous location. Had everything we needed, easy because didn't feel like anything was too precious - shower pressure on warm a bathmat and additional towels would be great (this is being picky!)
• steve (7/5): We enjoyed our time in this cosy bach, which was very close to the beach and bike trail. - The location was great - just a few metres from the bike track and beach, and in easy walking distance of cafes etc. The bed and sofa were comfy and it was cosy, and had a small, relatively private back lawn. The small, full kitchen was well equipped with a large breakfast bar. The carpet was threadbare in places, and one window latch was missing, so it needs some TLC. It was the kind of bach you could relax in though.

Absolute beachfront property and minutes walk to local cafes Amazing scenery from every angle of the property Mountains to the sea. Great little escape but will definitely be staying longer on our next stay. Love this place

• Katie (10/5): Brilliant! - This place was amazing. The kitchen was well-equipped, which made it easy to cook meals during our stay. Everything we needed was there, from cookware to utensils and salt and pepper. The beds were really comfortable, and the rooms were quite large and very spacious. The space was clean and had everything we needed for a relaxed and easy stay. The sofas were super comfy and the views were stellar. Overall, it was a solid choice and we’d definitely come back. Nothing! It was fantastic!

• Kirsten (8/5): Very good - Location on the beachfront is fantastic and the house is wonderfully sun soaked Katja was very responsive and kindly accommodated our request for an earlier check in Well supplied with everything you need The bathrooms are still the originals so pokey wee showers The bedrooms were pretty chilly, so just to be aware you'd want to pop a heater in there to warm it up before bed

• Mairi (9/5): We had a fantastic time and would definitely return to this house. - The view and location was perfect. It was just across from the beach. Plenty of space in the house for a family of 5. There was a shower outside to rinse off any sand. The shower pressure was weak and there was very little light in the shower rooms. It was not a big deal though.
• Diana (10/5): Excellent - Spacious, comfortable and very well equipped to accommodate our two families. Right on the beach making access easy for walks and play. Games galore to entertain on the rainy days and a warm fire for the cooler evenings. We had everything we needed and wanted for our holiday. Thank you!

• Tracey (7/5): Great location - The location was absolutely fantastic. Right next to the beach. The Chalet had everything you needed and the beds were very comfy. The chalet just needed a good clean. The bedroom blind had flies on. The carpets just didn't smell nice as well as one of the arm chairs which had a wobbly leg.

• Chris (6/5): Was fine for a short stay - The property while functional could do with an overall update esp, bathroom, shower very small water pressure average. - bbq I left cleaner than found, also needs updating heat deflectors rusted out - kitchen, one of the frypans is buckled does not sit flat on the element, and the element control is very slow to adjust down in temp Realise this is some what commensurate with the taffifs charged but feel updates should be scheduled
• Hayley (7/5): A little underwhelmed based on price. - The outdoor seating was great to have dinner It wasn’t that clean. Also very basic set up. Cheap teas etc for paying over $300 for this tiny place you expected a little more. Definitely no frills with this house. Guess I’m used to air bnb offering a nice selection of hot drinks etc our last stay in a property on way home in Motueka was a lot nicer and half the price. It an alright cottage but I’m assuming you’re really paying for the location being right by the beach.
• Dianne (9/5): A wonderful little chalet, lots of extra thoughtful touches, we loved it, & didn't want to leave. - perfect location, a minute from the beach. The cabin had everything we needed, felt comfortable , peaceful & private. we would have liked a blind in the bathroom on the frosted window for added privacy. Perhaps a side light in the lounge for when watching TV.

We felt it was very expensive for what we got. One towel each and one tea towel for 5 nights no hand towels, no dishwashing liquid. Plus, it really needed a good spring clean

A beautiful spacious apartment with a view And everything we needed There were some ants but the owner took care of it. The shower is not so comfortable and the bathroom sink has separate tap for hot and cold water.
• Frances (7/5): A peaceful retreat near the sea - The location near a walking trail and the beach was just a stones throw away. It was peaceful and quiet. The accommodation was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes, pots pans and an air fryer as well as the microwave. It was still cool outside and the place was took a while to heat up.

We had a bit of a problem with ants coming up under the kitchen sink! Plus we had heavy rain one night and the bathroom window leaked!Boxes of tissues would have been handy but there were none!
• Polly (7/5): Some good some bad. - Lovely flowers in the room. Kitchen/lounge was good. Not far from a lovely restaurant and 7 minutes to Takaka. Quiet and peaceful. You could hear the ocean. This is an old Bach poorly updated. There were issues with the house on the day we arrived and 2 days later. at first, there was no response from the message I sent. It wasn't until I emailed a couple of days later that there was communication. The bathroom is small and has no ventilation.

• Paul (6/5): Nice but quite noisy. - The accommodation was fine, beds comfortable and the TVetc all worked well. There are clearly some issues of repair that need to be done I.e. large cracks on the walls and areas of ceiling sag which show age and historical damage. It is single glazed and does get a lot of condensation (we stayed in mid October so that isn't unexpected) so a dehumidifier is not a bad plan if you plan to stay for a while. Proximity to the beach, a local dairy (corner shop) and cafe/bar restaurant were great. It is poorly insulated and is right next to a road which gets a fair amount of trucks as they make their way to an from further around the bay (quarry site)? There are also a series of building works going on surrounding the property as places are renovated or built or repaired. This all leads to a gait amount of noise at key times of the day.

Easy check in, beautiful accomodation with all basic necessities provided. Lovely hist and highly recommended to everyone! Such a beautiful spot, can't wait to go again! So good for an easy get away woth friends or family! We felt like we were living in luxury. Excellent service and happy with our stay. Nothing we didn't like. Only thing we would do different next time would be to bring extra blankets as the bunk bedding was beautiful, but some friends got a bit cold. We did have a fire place though to keep us warm! A++++ happy with the beautiful stay!
