• Valentin (10/5): - Une excellente guesthouse sur la boucle ! La gérante est hyper accueillante et met tout de suite à l’aise. La literie est confortable et le linge sent très bon la lessive, ce qui est vraiment appréciable après une journée de route. Le cadre est magnifique, en bord de rivière, et le soir avec les lumières, l’ambiance devient vraiment charmante. Possibilité de manger sur place : les repas sont délicieux, entièrement faits maison. Je recommande sans hésiter !

• Katie (10/5): Incredible Stay - Such a beautiful spot. We stayed here on night two of the Thakek Loop and couldn’t have been happier. The staff and atmosphere were incredible. Make sure you stay here if you’re planning on stopping in Konglor for the night.

• Manon (5/5): - l’emplacement est joli est chambre propre 1) nous avions payé 1 lit nous avons eu des lits jumeaux 2) le wifi n’a pas fonctionné sur les jours où nous étions, donc aucun service 3) nous avons mangé au restaurant de l’établissement (très bon) mais les personnels et des français on mis une énorme enceinte, impossible de s’étendre dans le resto la fête a continué jusqu’à 00h et la musique était très forte

Le seul petit « bémol » vous ne payez pas le montant annoncé par booking (qui dit que toutes les taxes sont comprises, mais c’est faux, l’hôtel vous ajoute une taxe à l’arrivée, mais nous n’avons pas compris ce que ça représente).

• Annika (10/5): - Ziemlich neues Resort, Zimmer sind noch sehr neuwertig und gut ausgestattet. Sehr schöner Blick auf den Fluß und die Berge. Sehr zu empfehlen ist die Halbtages-Kajaktour, die man über die Unterkunft buchen kann (tolle Tour, top Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis, wir waren zu zweit nur mit dem Guide). Die Koglor Höhle ist in 10 Minuten fußläufig erreichbar. Weitere Restaurants in Laufnähe.

• René (8/5): Bungalow am Fluss, ruhige Lage - Nette Bungalowanlage am Fluss. Kleine Terrasse, Schlafzimmer mit Tisch und Garderobe, Badezimmer mit Dusche und heißem Wasser, und so angebracht, dass anschließend nicht alles nass ist. Gut 900 m zur Höhle und sehr ruhige Lage, da etwas abseits der Straße. Das Bett war wirklich steinhart, da die Matratze im Grunde ein Brett ist. Es gab nur kleine Plastiktütchen mit Shampoo, da wären Spender umweltfreundlicher. Auf der Terrasse mag man nicht wirklich sitzen, wenig Atmosphäre. Ebenso im Restaurant. Der Empfang war nett, aber es gab sonst wenig Ansprache. Wir wollten eine Tour buchen, die war für uns beide 400.000 Kip teurer als direkt an der Höhle. Schade eigentlich, es könnte mehr aus der Unterkunft gemacht werden. Auch durch eine nettere Anlagengestaltung.

• Tim (9/5): - Wir waren früher da als erwarted und das Checkin verlief ohne Probleme. Im Ressort kann man gratis Kajaks ausleihen und den Fluss erkunden. Das Abendessen war unkoordiniert und wir mussten lange auf unser Essen warten.

• Claire (9/5): - L'emplacement du resort est idéal (tout près de la grotte de Konglor) et niché près d'un cours d'eau, ce qui rend le lieu très agréable ! La chambre et la salle de bain sont propres. Le lit est un peu dur mais reste relativement confortable. A savoir : le resort fait restaurant, les prix sont un peu cher mais les plats sont copieux et très bons.
• Stanley (7/5): A good stay during the loop! - We had a good stay here while on the loop! The location is fantastic - along a lovely river and very close to the cave. The room was basic but it was clean and had a nice balcony to sit and read during the day. We had good fried noodles from the restaurant and the staff were helpful! The room could have done with a bit more furnishing. The lights in the room didn't turn off properly which was odd and meant even at night it was quite light in the room! We went elsewhere for breakfast as there weren't many options.
• Joke (9/5): - De locatie is adembenemend mooi, maar de lieve mensen die dit resort runnen maken het nóg mooier! Het eten is ook fantastisch, en de porties zijn enorm. Nadat we de grot hadden bezocht lagen de kayaks al klaar en zijn we in helder blauw water gaan zwemmen. We hadden hier echt nog een paar dagen willen blijven!

• Caroline (7/5): Budget place with lovely river views - It was lovely to be able to see the river from our room and to enjoy the peace and quiet as the place was mostly empty. The bathroom was one of the better ones as it had some built in shelving to put toiletries on and the shower was away from the toilet so the floor around the toilet didn't get wet when you showered (no wet floor during midnight toilet trips!). Air con was efficient but the wifi was a bit erratic (my husband was able to do an hour of online tutoring with a student in China though so it was good enough for that). The bed was very hard (common for Laos) and there were no sidetables or side lights by the bed and the overhead lights were very bright. Weirdly, the overhead lights stayed on all night (very dim) even after turning them off. None of the staff spoke English. Whilst it was nice to have a balcony to look at the view from, unfortunately our room had a tree in front of it which partially blocked the view. It looks like a tree that has just grown by itself rather than has been planted so it would be easy to take it out and move it elsewhere. Also, the chairs on the balcony are cheap plastic things that are very uncomfortable to sit on. This place could be so nice if they made the effort to tidy up the surrounding areas and make them nicer. The garden is overgrown and messy - in the rainy season when we were there it is just one big muddy puddle. There are no paths to walk along so you just have to get muddy shoes. With a bit of time, effort and money they could make it so much nicer and charge higher prices because the location on the river is as good as the much more expensive resort nearby that charges double or triple the price.

• Thomas (9/5): Sehr netter Aufenthalt, danke für die schöne Zeit und viele Grüsse nochmals an Kipuh. :-) - Es war eine ruhige Unterkunft, die Inhaber waren sehr nett und man hat uns bei allen Belangen geholfen. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Frühstück war sehr gut und die Nähe zur Höhle war fußläufig. Wir sind mit dem Bus angekommen und man hat uns bzw. unser Gepäck im Dorf aufgelesen, da Google keinen Weg dorthin gefunden hat. Wenn wir nochmals dorthin kommen sollten, würden wir wieder dort buchen wollen.

Konglor cave is walking distance and was spectacular. They dropped kayaks at the cave for us so we could kayak back. Food in their restaurant was also great!!! They also arranged our transport to Vientiane!

• Finuala (9/5): My absolute favorite place in Laos so far. The people of Konglor village are just beautiful. - The location is stunning, what a way to wake up every morning. The staff are lovely, limited english spoken but we muddled through with good humor. The whole place is so relaxing and peaceful. Not much really, the shower was a little cold. It wasn’t a big deal.

• Chad (10/5): Excellent staff and owners… we loved our stay here. - Wow what a great place to stay! Our favorite in two weeks in Laos. And wish we could have stayed longer but unfortunately wrapping up our trip. The hotel is in the best location… all rooms right on the river which is a great value… hot during the day and so nice to swim and float in the free tubes during the day. Easy access to the cave. Excellent restaurant. And the staff is the best! Met the brother of the owner and the hotel was run by his two daughters during our stay. They treated us like family. Very hospitable. Swam with us when we checked in and again during the day. An annual festival at the local temple the first night (first full moon in October or perhaps the first after the fall equinox). The sisters took us to the festival and assured our comfort throughout our time there. They are great cooks and very generous hosts. Very clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Will miss our time here the most. This is a new hotel in the area… and it is perfect.
