Nous sommes passés par l’hôtel pour réserver nos excursions et notre guide Dolla était vraiment top ! Une belle personne qui nous a appris pleins de choses. Une très belle adresse !
• Maria de la Saleta (7/5): El mejor desayuno del viaje en un hotel céntrico y cómodo - El desayuno en este hotel fue, sin duda, el mejor de todo nuestro viaje. Además, la ubicación es excelente: en pleno centro de Morondava, a poca distancia de la playa y rodeado de muchos restaurantes locales y turisticos. Aunque el acceso a la playa no es directo y hay que callejear un poco, Moronaba nos pareció una ciudad super segura. Desde el hotel nos ofrecieron varias excursiones y pudimos organizar fácilmente una salida para ver el amanecer en la Avenida de los Baobabs y continuar directamente hacia el parque de Kirindy. El conductor fue encantador y todo salió perfecto. Nos sorprendió un poco que, aunque había una lista de precios para las actividades, nos dijeran que “los precios pueden ser estos u otros, se puede negociar”. Nos pilló un poco desprevenidos. También habría sido útil tener más información detallada sobre lo que incluía cada excursión: por ejemplo, la visita a Kirindy no incluía la entrada al parque ni la comida (que puede sonar obvio, pero en otros hoteles durante nuestro viaje incluian todo), y por suerte llevábamos suficiente efectivo, porque de lo contrario hubiéramos tenido un problema.

• Carol (1/5): What a waste of a beautiful property. - We booked. It was confirmed. We drove in. Nobody around. All the doors to the rooms were wide open. We had a good look around. There were two people sleeping in what seemed to be staff rooms. They both looked up. Saw us and went straight back to sleep. The horrendous attitude of the staff.

• Luciana (7/5): Ottima sistemazione a - Struttura accogliente e arredata con molto gusto. Camera ampia e confortevole con grande terrazzo . Silenzio e relax. Gentilissimo e disponibile il ragazzo che fa da sorvegliante e tuttofare. Ci ha tenuto compagnia mentre aspettavamo il nostro taxi alle 2:00 del mattino ed era sempre presente per qualsiasi richiesta. Mancanza di un piccolo frigo in camera e di un set di cortesia the/ caffè . La reception è attiva solo in mattinata quando è possibile fare colazione . Durante il giorno non c’è nessuno , per fortuna c’è il sorvegliante che è un ragazzo dolce e disponibile.

• Amanda (10/5): Great place in Morondava - Kily House was super clean and comfortable, the room was spacious, and had everything we needed, including fresh towels, hot water, an air conditioner and a fan. Keep in mind there is an extra fee if you pay with a credit card. They even made us breakfast to go, since we left super early for check out. I highly recommend this place. Since many tourists have drivers and tour guides with them, it would have been nice if they had accommodations for them as well. Our tour guide and driver had to stay a few doors down.

• Maja (5/5): The room did not make up for the unfriendliness. - The room was large, nicely furnished, and clean. I arrived in the evening with my driver. Although I had asked in advance whether there was accommodation for the driver and the answer was a clear “yes,” there was no room available. So my driver had to find a hotel nearby. We were able to leave the car at the hotel. Because we wanted to leave early the next morning to see the sunrise in Baobab Alley, which I also told the person at the reception, I paid directly in the evening. The next morning, our car was blocked in by two other cars, so we couldn't drive away. After I called the hotel, the lady from the previous evening was very rude on the phone, telling me that it was my driver's fault and that he should have coordinated with the other drivers. That wasn't possible because he couldn't stay at the hotel. After some discussion, the woman told the drivers of the other cars to move their cars, whereupon I was once again rudely reprimanded by one of the drivers because it was our fault. To be honest, I was quite shocked by the way guests are treated at this hotel. Apparently it was a misunderstanding, but I have never experienced such unfriendly treatment of guests at other hotels (especially since I was the least to blame).

Nos dieron una habitación en la planta baja que tenía una preciosa terraza. Justo en frente del hotel hay un bar con karaoke. Estuvieron de fiesta hasta las 3am. Pero las ventanas están bien aisladas y amortigua el reunido. IMPORTANTE no sirven comidas solo desayuno

• MYUNGLIM (9/5): Great value accommodation. - Great value accommodation. The rooms are simple, with no refrigerator or air conditioning (no shampoo, etc.). They're relatively clean, making them ideal for an overnight stay.

The breakfast was also very good Given the set up of Morondava - it’s difficult to get to the beach directly from the hotel…not a huge deal - but just bear in mind the hotel doesn’t overlook the ocean. We really loved this place and thought it was just as nice as Palissandre

No mosquito net (but to be honest, not many hotels in Morondova have one), very loud music from the bar across the street until late hours. If not for the loud music, it would have been a perfect stay.

• Thea (6/5): Clean but loud and overpriced - The room was big but was quite sterile and lacked character. -It was opposite a very loud club that does not stop until the morning. -For this price you should expect more reliable and faster internet even in Madasgacar. The internet kept dropping out. -Completely overpriced for what you get and in Madagascar. The owner just sees you as a walking dollar sign and is extremely calculative. We also booked the Baobabs and Kinsey Forest day trip through him and he started at a ridiculous price in EU$ to try his luck. Even after you negotiate, he weaselled the price back up with questionable tactics and it's still overpriced and does not go to the driver. You can organise that day trip through any hotel on that street, or even better, go directly to a driver as they get a tiny tiny amount. - While the breakfast is good it is an additional $6Euros each which is overpriced compared to any of our lovely stays in other parts of Madagascar with comparable breakfasts and should be lowered or included given the price for the room -There are other nice places with Madasgacar charm on the beach such as Chez Maggie that you can book directly and are not on Bookings.com

• Cody (10/5): Incredibly helpful staff!! - Due to unforeseen circumstances we had such a short time to spend in Morondava (arriving at midnight and leaving on a plane the next morning at 7am) and the management were so helpful! They assisted us by booking transfers to the hotel so late at night and ensured that we had an updated tour to see the baobab trees in such a short time. We could not have done it without their assistance and are so glad we didn’t miss out. The communication we received was excellent and we are so grateful for their assistance. The room was also very comfortable with the best air conditioning we had the whole time we were in Madagascar.

Dont trust the husband for anything he will try to charge an extreme amount to do any activities. Cockroaches in the sink. No tv in the room as it states. Power goes out all the time. This place is a joke. unclean, husband is a scammer. I found my own ways in getting us places by working it out with the locals. They need money bad and will try anything to leverage anything out of the guest. Beware of this place and you have been warned
• Timothy (9/5): Beautiful spot, no restaurant on site but otherwise couldn't be better. - Perfectly lovely inside, location within the town couldn't be better, everything presented as high quality and brand new Some loud music across the street late at night, town shuts down power overnight so no AC, just a fan on generator. Paying by card is a convoluted email/link thing which they didn't have a firm grasp on, I had to help them verify that it went through.

• Shaaron (9/5): Kily House is friendly, non-expensive, fantastic. - Kily House is a great place to make home in Morondava. My room had a private, balcony overlooking the canal. The room itself had all the amenities of a five star hotel. Spacious. Strong and stable wifi. Huge comfortable bed. Black out curtains. Lovely bathroom with great water pressure. I walked out to very close nearby restaurants. Did not use breakfast facilities so cannot comment. If you want a friendly, non-expensive hotel in Morondava, Kily House is it. I would prefer to be able to pay with credit card rather than Kily House’s complicated transfer system. Cash is okay. Only stairs to upper floor.

• Nicolesattler (10/5): Exceptional - The staff is super kind and helpful and the room was amazing! Very clean and pretty big! When I came back from the NP, I booked it again, because I loved it. The beach is nice but maybe not for a swim… It’s an one hour drive to the Baobab trees, about 3 hours to kirindy and 9 hours to Tsingy.
• Cinzia (10/5): An peaceful well decorated oasi - Beautifully decorated room , the whole accommodation has lovely touchy details . Everything, I mean every is super clean and tidy ( the place has just opened ). Like the whole Morondava it experiences at night a power shortage, but the very silent AC machine can be used until 10 pm and I must say the room was cooled down til morning ( they provide a fan with a misty function ,but we didn’t use it ). The room is big , comfortable walk in shower , good water pressure , new faucets. The bed was a bit hard ( everywhere on this island ), but king size. Tina the manager communicated with me very friendly , she welcomed us warmly. The private terrace is spacious , private and the whole location is quite with a well kept garden . Breakfast was stunning, served in European style , so abundant for €6 each , as far as now absolutely the best ( 2 weeks on the big island ). I highly recommend this place , if only for one night , it was a life saver ( I ve been not sleeping well in 10 days). Wi-Fi was not working properly.Unfortunately the driver’s accomodation offered no fan and no mosquito net . Considering that a fan is about 200.000 ariari and a net about 7000, I would add this for the poor ladders. Our woke up very tired after a difficult warm mosquito night : for our safety on the road , I d rather had preferred a good sleep for him.

• Anouk (10/5): New hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and great showers! - Very new hotel. Unfortunately we never saw it by day as we arrived in the night and left before sunrise. But the room was super nice, new, comfy, even had aircon and a really nice, hot shower with good water pressure. Would have loved to stay longer. Personnel really welcoming. Walking distance to many restaurants.
• Mirko (10/5): Nice guesthouse to stay some days - Kily house is the best place to stay in Morondava. It’s not far away from the market and close to the beach and river. The guest house is clean, the staff great (Tina is the best :) and they will ensure you will have a great stay here. Even though the guest house does not have a pool, for a small amount you can use the pool from the resort next to it (1min walk). So it’s the perfect point to start your activities from or to chill some days before continuing your trip.

• Silencio (9/5): Nice trendy beach hotel with chill decorated rooms. - Very nice decorated comfortable rooms with huge sliding doors to terrace. Centre of Morondava is within walking distance. Lots of restaurants in direct vicinity. Fantastic a/c and ventilator. Rolling black energy blackout at night for A/c only. Across the street is a club that can give some noise pollution especially during weekends.
• Lana (10/5): Review pt2: they went above and beyond to return our phone - Review pt2: We forgot one of our phones in the room. The people of the hotel were driving to Tana 2 days after we left. It was meant to be that we would be in Tana then as well. Our driver met up with the people of the hotel and we got our phone back. We couldn’t be more grateful. They really went above and beyond for us. Couldn’t recommend more (see my first review about the hotel itself).

• Yaamada (10/5): Absolutely wonderful! - Hotel manager Tina and her staff are friendly and attentive. They arranged a personal drive tour to the Avenue of Baobab and Sacred Baobab of the Kirindy Villlage without preceeding booking. You can watch the beautiful sunrise, the stars of the southern sky, sailing boats passing through the canal and local people walking on the street at the wide balcony. Decors are simple but well coordinated with local items. You'll enjoy laid-back time here. Price performance is so high. No hangar and rack in the room, but it's a small matter.
