Small but comfortable single room.
Clean with good bedding and towels.
Very good Wi-fi/ Internet
Powerful Shower
Everything that I needed for one night.
Excellent value. Nothing of note
- Carla (7/5): perfect for after the theatre - location can’t complain for the price
- Marcin (8/5): Lovely stay n fun - Big room with sofa n sea view Carpets
- Marie (8/5): Great place for little budgets, great location - The staff was friendly and helpful.
It was nicely located, 2mn walk from the sea, 15mn from the train station/city center.
It was very affordable and had decent facilities for the price.
I liked that there was a kettle in the room and complementary tea and coffee. Hard to complain about much for the price.
Maybe the noise: some neighbours were not being careful with slamming doors... Some others were partying with loud music (basses vibrating in my room) and smoking (not cigarettes...) but actually they stopped before I slept so it wasn't too bad in the end.
Single room not very spacious, but I expected it.
Facilities are not very modern, but all was clean so honestly, great place for people on a budget!
It could just do with a bedside lamp actually as the main light is super white and not very pleasant at night.
- Judy (9/5): Pleasant - Lovely room Parking if function on in tower
- Helen (7/5): - Great location. Lovely room. Nice view. Bed was uncomfortable, the mattress was way too soft. Shower pressure was dreadful.
- Lukasz (10/5): - Bardzo dobry Parkin ciężko znaleźć ,chodź nam się udało darmowy .Po prawej stronie od hotelu około 2 minuty na pieszo od hotelu.
- Lučiana (10/5): - Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help. The location was convenient, Everything exceeded my expectations, and I would happily stay here again. Highly recommended! Low water pressure in the shower.
- Michele (10/5): -
- Kevin (8/5): All good and will stay again - Stayed a few times and it’s a great budget hotel. Clean and comfortable bed
- Clive (5/5): - Convenient location. It was fine, but basic, which we were ok with for our short stay.
- Rajini (5/5): - Hot warer Lack of toilet paper which there should be a fresh roll. The towel is very small there is no hand wash but bottles downstairs, loads of toilet paper,. The reception is miserable two days in a row. The door keeps on slamming from the neighbours.
- Jack (6/5): Value hotel but nothing special - Great location and they kindly let us store our bikes in their downstairs bar which was currently shut. Reasonably priced. It was very hot and stuffy, not their fault but also no AC. The TV in one of our rooms didn’t work and sad very small. The reception was supposed to open at 8 but not one was around or answered their phone so we couldn’t pick up our bikes which was frustrating. The shower could have been cleaner.
- Dhillon (7/5): -
- Pierce (1/5): Awful customer service avoid at all cost - The man told me my bed was clean even after coming to look at it see the pictures and judge for yourself. I was refused a refund and had to check different rooms to try find a clean one, I was also told every hotel in Eastbourne is the same it's not a hotel it's a hostel avoid
- Ollie (9/5): Excellent location, everything you need - Great location, friendly staff, sufficiently clean and comfortable and all at a fair price.
- Leigh (5/5): -
- Deepak (8/5): Good value for money. - Location
- Deea (5/5): - Closer to the beach We didn't like the smell in the room, even with the window open; you could still feel that bad smell.
- Lauren (6/5): -
- Alexandru (1/5): - the hotel is dirty, bad smell throughout the hotel (including the room and bathroom) parking is non-existent. when I arrived I spent more than 20 minutes looking for a parking lot that costs £9.5 for 10 hours. but it is not near the hotel. very rude staff, when I asked about parking they just told me to check the app and that they do not offer parking. in my booking it said that they offer parking nearby for a fee that costs £4 which is a lie
- Jack (8/5): -
- Mike (6/5): It's OK I suppose. - Good location for theatres and seafront. No breakfast and staff could only be contacted via phone! As nobody was ever on reception.
- Debbie (10/5): -
- Jennifer (5/5): It was okay. - Price and location. Noisy neighbours. Could have been cleaner.
- sandra (1/5): - I am complaining , I could not stay here . It was disgusting . My partner has cancer and we could not stay here , the toilet had poo on it , the towels wee not clean , we walked out as soon as we walked in and had to find somewhere else to stay . There was nothing to like , it was dirty , smelly
- David (10/5): Relaxed Eastbourne property. - There is a calm easy going atmosphere. The friendly couple that manages the hotel are very nice. The location is brilliant. It's very close to the Eastbourne arts quarter and provides an excellent view and a cultured air.
- Laszlo (8/5): For that many just to sleep there was ok, hot water come immediatley from the shower. I like that. - Locaion and cheap price. Noisy neigbhbours, without ear plugs I couldn't sleep.
- Dean (2/5): -
- Dean (4/5): Ok for working stays - As a work place to sleep it’s ok but I wouldn’t stay for pleasure purposes Needs a big refurb to rooms
- Anthony (1/5): -
- Nichola (1/5): -
- Mary (7/5): The hotel was adequate for our trip to the theatre , but would probably not stay again - Close to the theatre , not far from beach front , a short walk to town. Advertised a bar and live music ,not available also offers breakfast , don’t think that would be available as all downstairs where bar is was closed off
- Batkin (4/5): Nightmare . - Getting out of place. No bar..No restaurant. Do have but not open. Desk rarely manned.
- Mihai (4/5): -
- Chris (6/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Nicola (2/5): - The room was extremely small. The bathroom very dated and not very clean. No restaurant or bar facilities as closed. Very basic.
- Anne-marie (4/5): -
- Rob Farrow (4/5): - Decor very tired.
Offers a carpark, but parked on the road.
No food.
No Breakfast.
- Julie (8/5): -
- Catherine (5/5): It was an Ok stay, will propably come back if the rate is low on a given time - The bed was fairly comfortable, It was one of the smallest bedroom i have seen in a long time in Eastbourne, there was only one pillow and a cushion, the TV wasn't working properly or i couldn't watch channel 42.
- Carla (10/5): cheap and convenient - Perfect location for the theatre, beautiful sunrise and cheap parking. for the price you couldn’t ask for more. lovely helpful staff at this price point it would be rude to complain
- L (10/5): - Stayed here before so know it's qualities. Clean bedding, comfy bed, great location, good shower, perfect location. Dont come here expecting 5star decor but it's amazing value!!! Slow lift lol

- akinpelu (9/5): - The environment is beautiful!! Nothing
- Graham (7/5): The room was good value, staff very friendly and hotel is in a good location. - The staff and location were great People in adjacent room were very noisy, banging doors and shouting all night.
- Peggy-Anne (9/5): I had a small single room, single bed - it was absolutely fine for one night. - I stayed one night as I was attending the theatre and this hotel was picked because it was good value and opposite the theatre. the lamp did not work.
- Lucy X Lee (10/5): -
- Grace (7/5): Cheap, clean and by the sea! - Cheap, comfortable bed, clean. Had a lift. No breakfast or other meals available.
- Jayne (5/5): Needs updating - It's was in a great location for us, especially as it was close to the theatre. We understand the hotel had only just been taken over, so we couldn't complain to the management, but the rooms need some sorting out. Our shower head didn't stay properly on the stand, so we had to hold it. The window didn't have a lock on it, so anyone could get in. The floor is very creaky, going in and out of the bathroom, and the radiator would not turn off. The dial did not work. Hopefully, the new owners can make a massive improvement, as it's in a great location.
- Kevin (6/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): -
- Marielle (5/5): -
- Yelena (7/5): - Location No option to leave bags prior check in
- Lekshmi (2/5): Pathetic - Nothing Booked the King room got shoved into some random room saying room depends on availability
- Joseph (1/5): -
- Lisa (8/5): -
- Beeney (4/5): - Location Everything else ¹
- Inkpen (10/5): - Everything is in walking distance the staff are friendly and rooms are clean there is tea, milk, coffee and sugar on the reception so you can help yourself if you run out Nothing
- Aaron (10/5): - Wonderful hotel grate staff
- Peter (8/5): - Excellent value for money and a comfortable bed Difficult to fill the kettle. Would be better if they provided a smaller one
- Donald (2/5): We did not get any sleep the people above us was stumping about and arguing shouting and swearing that went on till 3am - It was a bit run down The room was clean enough, however we had no heating, and the shower head would not work, the tv wasn’t working
- Daniel (6/5): Friendly, helpful staff and depressing room - The staff were friendly and helpful. (Always there and able get things for us)
Close to the town centre and pier. The room was run down.
Sheets had marks on.
The walls had marks all over. Even one that defies logic and physics.
The lift was very small, old and seemed ready to break at any point.
- Ben (5/5): Ok. - Location was great Hotel manager was great. But who checked us in treated us like children. Clearly didnt like us. Followed me to the front door from behind his desk when I went to meet delivery driver for food. I even told him this. Felt like I was a teenager and my parents were home.
- Laurie (5/5): -
- Jenny (6/5): -
- Vivienne (6/5): - The staff were kind and helpful
- Abubakar (5/5): Unpleasant - Nothing Room was like hole in a dungeon
The bed was rumbling, noisy and uncomfortable
- Martin (6/5): -
- Francis .F (7/5): Overnight in A Cabin 🤔 - I've stayed there before , one night stay. The room 305 is TINY, The bathroom VERY tiny , but , for 1 nt , OK. Close to beachfront a short walk to town Centre ...Though TINY room. 🤨 Female Hindi Staff member , Blunt Spoken , Male was , OK...
- Emily (5/5): mistake made by staff was made no apology at all - very good for price the staff gave someone else a key to our room on our second night, we were luckily in the room and the person was very apologetic. the front desk lady came up and very accusatory asks for our name ( despite her checking us in herself) and when we checked in; then proceeded to not come up again to let us know what was happening nor apologise. only for a brief apology in passing when we checked out two days later.
- John (7/5): -
- timothy (7/5): -
- Maoliosa (7/5): -
- John (2/5): Old girl needs some undating - Near the front We went in mid may . The heating worked sometimes we were given an electric heater to keep our room warm. There was no room service if you ran out of tea or coffee or toilet rolls you had to help yourself from reception which was rarely manned. Couldn't connect to the Internet and the tv was freeview only. We had a 3 bed room and the distance from the end of the bed and the wall was 150mm so you had to walk sideways carrying a cup of tea and going to the loo in the night was a joke. If you had a walking impediment getting up the stone steps to enter the hotel was a hard job but inside it had a lift which worked. There was no food and the bar was shut but there was a lovely food hall round the corner which did loverly breakfasts and dinners.
Sorry for the downbeat review but Eastbourne was nice and we had loverly sunshine all week.
- Joe (8/5): Great value for money. Top location, clean and staff were friendly. -
- HUMAIRAH (2/5): -
- David (6/5): - The location was convenient for my needs. The room was a bit small but it was comfortable.
- John (6/5): -
- Placinta (10/5): -
- Deborah (10/5): The room at the Carlton Hotel. - The room was very comfortable and the staff were
very nice. I did not have enough toilet paper as I forgot to request some toilet paper.
- Deborah (10/5): The room at the Carlton hotel.. - The room was very comfortable and the staff were
very nice. The room was a bit small in size.
- Stefan (1/5): - Nothing exept the staff Very dirty, poorly maintained and outdated. Everything feels worn out. The internet is weak and you have to wait about 15 minutes for hot water. The only positive thing is that the staff are understanding and try to help.
- PHILIP (9/5): Exactly What I Wanted. - Location, Frendliness of Staff, A Bath !
Excellent Value for Money. For the Price, Nothing.
- muggridge (4/5): -
- James (5/5): Fine if travelling by yourself and want to be off of the street - Staff member was friendly. But was walking around barefoot Room very dated
Wall built around a radiator
Dangerous electrics
Loud Aircon unit
- ismail (9/5): - The location No bar open
