• Amy (10/5): - Been coming to Houghton Lake for years and this was our first time staying here. The room was nice and clean. We had a walkout to the beach that made it convenient for our pet. Overall experience Was great! Definitely recommend staying here.
• Betty (10/5): Beautiful hotel but sky high beds - Beautiful lakeside balcony room. Everything very clean and well kept. The beds were EXTREMELY high, with the box spring being the same thickness as the mattress , combined height of at least 24 ", that sat atop a platform base about 12". Top of the mattress was taller than my hip--and I'm 5'6". It was very hard to get up and onto bed, and it was difficult to scoot over on the mattress too. My feet dangled above the floor at least 9" when I finally sat on the edge of the bed.. We had to use a desk chair to put our feet on to get leverage to move on the bed. Once on the bed, we found them to be very comfy and pillows were nice and numerous. Senior adults may not want a bed so high for their stay.

• JAMES (10/5): Always Have A Nice Stay - Our favorite place to stay when we visit Houghton Lake. The walk out room to the beach area is outstanding. We love being able to hear the waves and go out to the water easily. Very clean and the staff is amazing. There needs to be a screen door so that we can leave the glass door open more often. The breakfast needs to be changed up from time to time. With that said, we will always stay here when we make our annual vacation trip.

I had went for dinner, got back from that in shower I then lay down on the bed and, within minutes starts getting bites all over the left side of my back down my legs. I look and find bugs,old food under the bed, some papers. I was bitten again and I packed my stuff up from the shower still seeing bugs now in bathroom, ice bucket, just everywhere in there I did manage to get pictures Bugs bites in bed Also by now I see the pee all around the toilet!!

You can't beat this place for cleanliness, hospitality, view, sandy beach, convenience to town, amenities such as nice indoor pool, hot tub, sand volleyball, kids play area, beach firepits, nice long dock, and parking! The entire staff went above and beyond! They even gave me my favorite room when I asked. Just a great stay! No complaints, just a few minor things that would be nice to add. Would like to see a meat and hot eggs added to breakfast options. Would like some printed instructions with the TV. A screen door with the balcony door would be nice. A loyality discount program would be very nice too..

Breakfast options are standard. No one at front desk for over 10 min. to check us in. Very unfriendly. Also, MAJOR complaint: when looking on-line at your hotel, every single site specified only 2 rooms are available. Totally not true. Very disappointed in the tricks your hotel and travel sites use to pressure customers to book reservation.
