Guest Reviews
- Monica (10/5): - Prioritaria accogliente e disponibile ; camera pulita e in ordine con vista mozzafiato!
Poco distante dal centro, perfetto per una notte in totale tranquillità.
- Nigel Pike (7/5): - Quiet location outside village - also a negative, on 400m path unlit at night, of course!! Evening meal good, room nice views, helpful staff like Christian. Comfy bed, as everyone says. Christian offered return boat to copa on his dad's boat. Same price. But it was luxury, like our own little cruise. Staff helpful, but had to be nudged on numerous things. Didn't explain shower needs 5 minutes to pull hot water through. No water or glasses in room. No heating in room though listing shows heating. For Bolivia, lovers of nature, plants, flowers, murals, it was disappointing that the lovely terrace and garden areas with fab views had nothing growing. Very bare, apart from grass. Feels very welcome, as does main hall area where we ate. So, very basic, very uncolourful, a distance from the village, and staff who needed nudging. If you don't mind that stuff, the views are fab, and perfect if you really did want to get away from everything
- JJ (10/5): One of the best views we’ve ever had. Great friendly hosts. Would stay again! -
No hubo nada malo.
- Victoria (10/5): A Magical Escape with Breathtaking Views - A Magical Escape with Breathtaking Views
Our stay was absolutely beautiful, peaceful, comfortable, and spotless. Although we were delayed by the boat and had to climb what felt like a thousand steps to reach the lodge (a bit of an exaggeration!), the host went out of his way to help—he sent his younger brother to meet us along the way, and he was incredibly kind and helpful.
By the time we reached the lodge, night had fallen and the moon was just beginning to rise over the horizon—a massive orange glow that added to the magic of the moment. The views from the lodge were nothing short of breathtaking. It was truly a special and unforgettable experience. Just be prepared for the climb to get to the top. I’m not very fit, so for me it was a bit of a struggle—but definitely worth it once you’re there.
- Sharon (7/5): Lovely stay - The location and view were sensational with a gorgeous view across the lake towards Isla de Luna. The bed room was comfortable and well set up. We liked the fact we were not located in the main village. You can order simple meals from the kitchen. The fact there were no signs along the way to direct you towards the hotel. We hauled our bags up the hill way beyond the track that was leading towards the hotel so were not impressed as it is a steep climb with bags. A sign and better written directions would assist others to avoid the same fate, eg take the left hand track before the Church.
No hot water and the sewage smell that emanated from the bathroom was intense but I am assuming this is a problem for many hotels on the island.
- Ewan (6/5): Pleasant - The views were amazing, bed was comfortable and breakfast was decent as well As this was on an small island we were not requiring luxury however the bathroom was not particularly clean and we had no hot water.
The check in was quite odd and had no information about how to get there. They also said they had a washing service and they gave us back our washing wet (and was quite expensive)
Seems like this has been said a couple times but the payment system is quite frustrating, we booked through booking.com but then on the day of payment we were required to pay in dollars. We didn’t have dollars so a random exchange rate was put on to the price. We didn’t mind too much about a slightly different exchange rate but it all seemed really unclear (and we paid more for the room as advertised)
- Jéssica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louise (8/5): Very good -
- Ute (10/5): Fabulous - Loved the breakfast, absolutely loved my room and the gorgeous view of the lake out my window and the cosy warm super comfortable bed. Wonderfully quiet with easy access to the sun temple and Yumani (via the back tracks)
And most of all Rosa and Mario went out of their way to make my stay as beautiful as can be. They picked me up from the ferry and transfered my luggage back down to the Harbour when I left. They have their own boat so Mario shipped me to Challapampa for my walk back to Yumani
I loved every minute of my 5 night stay Loved everything
- Brynley (9/5): Beautiful views! - We loved our stay at Ecolodge! The beds were super comfortable and the view of Lake Titicaca is incredible. We stayed two nights but would have happily stayed longer.
- Dirk (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kathleen (8/5): Very good - The Ecolodge offered a nice accommodation, with a huge and very comfortable bed. It’s further away from the harbour than thought. The way there is best if you don’t carry much luggage with you
- Brittany (8/5): Very good - Beds were incredibly comfortable, breakfast was nice. Room had a good view. Property was a little hard to find as google/Apple Maps don’t work. Owner converts the booking.com price using the blue market rate not the offical. You can pay card at the property if you don’t want to use that rate.
- Jimmy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jarred (8/5): Very good - The views from the rooms and the accommodation are stunning, and even though it's a little bit of a walk to get there, it's well worth it. The rooms are large, clean, and the beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was also abundant. The showers were a little weak, and were more warm than hot. The exchange rate Booking uses is not the exchange rate the accommodation uses. Regardless of what Booking says, the rate is 150 BOB per night, which is more than we were expecting. This seems to be a common issue with most accommodation providers on Isla del Sol.
- Lisa (8/5): Very good - Really nice and spacious room in a good location. Beautiful views over the island and only 15 minutes away from the Sun Temple and 15 minutes away from Yumani town. Hot showers and very comfortable beds. We got charged more than the price we booked for. Plus the exchange rate wasn’t right and end up costing us more.
- Rebecca (9/5): Superb - This was the best sleep I’ve had on my trip. The beds were super comfortable and the breakfast was lovely. After hiking isla del sol it was a lovely place to spend the night The exchange rate for usd to bolivianos used for payments wasn’t ideal but this is but a tiny tiny issue after a fabulous stay
- Jaime (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daria (9/5): Superb - I absolutely loved my stat at the lodge. Beautiful surroundings!
- Alex (9/5): Superb -
- Esteban (10/5): Awesome place! - Really beautiful and peaceful place!
Location is great as it's super close to the Sun temple in the South part of the Island
Cristian and his mom Rosa were super welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was a nice way to start the day
By far the nicest place we stayed in Bolivia!! Highly recommend this place
- Ethan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrea (10/5): Best view over the lake - Most comfortable bed in Bolivia
Breathtaking view over lake Titicaca both from the room and from the dining area
Chilled vibe surrounded by animals
Warm accommodation and warm showers
Sweet hosts who cooks amazing food. Nothing. Just be aware that it is a steep hike from the Yumani port. Consider carrying a smaller pack with you and dropping the main luggage at Copacabana or at the port or hiring a donkey!
- Olaf (6/5): Pleasant - The view was exceptional. You have your own little house with lots of space. It is a little bit far away from the village and all the restaurants (still walking distance). If you want to eat there, you have to let them know a couple of hours in advance.
The water pressure is very low and when you close the window in the bathroom it starts to smell soon.
The breakfast was not very good, not even Milk or milk powder for the coffee was available.
- Thierry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jiri (10/5): Best place on this Island - Some kind of solar heating.
Large, clean rooms
No English spoken, but friendly owners try to communicate through Google Translate.
Amazing view
The location is out of the village, so it's more quiet.
Good breakfast
Good quinoa soup
Good wifi Food takes ages... definitely more than one hour.
Dinner is limited and somehow OK. There are much better restaurants in the village itself.
- Marie (6/5): Pleasant - The host came to help us carrying the luggage.
The room was nice. The laundry costed a lot (we had quite a lot if it, but it basically was the price of the room), and it was not dried (we gave it around 4pm and needed back at 10am the next day). I understand if it could not be dried in time but would have liked to know because after wet laundry is just a moot point...).
The host said on booking we did not come and canceled the reservation afterwards. They acknowledge their mistake when I noticed but did not correct straight away.
- Fliss (9/5): Superb -
- Imogen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mat.eo (9/5): Superb - Great place, clean, stuff very helpful, no complains. Would recommend it
- Eliana (10/5): Exceptional - Suite was lovely! Very comfortable, hot shower and delicious breakfast. Owner was very kind to provide us explanation how to arrive to the top of island.
View in the first hours of morning is totally amazing!
Highly recommend. Ecologe is missing signaling to find easier the way to take, anyways if you ask on island everyone knows where it is.
- Imogen (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful views from the property- stunning sunrise About a 10/15 min walk to the local village (but that does make it more beautiful)
- Angel (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely room , comfy bed , excellent views , we really enjoyed our stay
- Kelsey (10/5): Exceptional - The views from this place are incredible! Rooms were clean, beds were comfortable, everything was great. Would definitely stay again. The property uses a solar water heater, which is great and very eco friendly, but just know it means no hot water in the mornings.
- Clementine (8/5): Wonderful stay in a great location - Clean rooms, comfy beds, great breakfast, great views of the lake
- Lais (10/5): Amazing stay for slowing down and enjoying the island - The comfiest place, super clean, staff was amazing and location was also great. The views are a plus, right in front of the lake and we could even see the starts from the window inside. Just perfect! Literally have no complaints
- Anaïs (8/5): Quiet and charming location - Very comfortable bed, beautiful view over the lake (20mn walk from the port) and nice breakfast No hot water
- Leticia (8/5): Very good -
