Guest Reviews
- Brook (6/5): - Parking and location It wasnt very clean
- Jonathon (8/5): -
- Shirley (10/5): - Tv didn't work
- Kenneth (10/5): Clean, Quite, Comfortable - Location, Staff, Clean, Quite, Comfortable, Easy Check in and parking NA
- Jacob (10/5): Very affordable and surprisingly accommodating lodge, would definitely stay again thank you!! - Liked the price/affordability, the very quick and easy access to the highway and restaurants etc, I really liked the staff, they were very very friendly and helpful and very professional and very courteous and efficient. The guy with the glasses that helped me out Friday evening and Saturday afternoon was extremely helpful and accommodating. Very happy with the stay overall! There were cobwebs on the walls and almost in every corner and there were a couple spiders and a couple flies in the room. There were people that I believe live in the motel or are doing an extended stay, that solicited me around 2:30 in the morning Friday night and wouldn't go away until I said no about three times, but other than all that 10 out of 10 stars. 9 out of 10 Stars if including all that!
- Devin (10/5): -
- Deniz (10/5): -
- Fusco (8/5): - For me it is usually location and quietness. This has both for my trips to Baltimore.
- James (8/5): -

- Edward (6/5): - The HML is an older, bare-bones motel. It really needs to be fully upgraded. No seating in the ultra-small lobby. No dining area. Rooms are pretty clean, but they are not very spacious, and the furnishings are older. The mattress in my room was saggy. No USB outlets. Parking is convenient. I won't stay there again.
- Andreina (10/5): - it was pleasant
- ned (10/5): - This was my 2nd stay in a week. Room clean and comfortable. Front desk clerk very friendly. The property needs a remodel but good value for a 1 night stay. No issues
- David (10/5): - Stayed for one night to sleep, great facilities
- Miranda (2/5): - I booked a hotel in my name paid for it with my card, tried adding my fiancé on to the room agreement as a common courtesy for the hotel in order for them to know all parties staying at their establishment.
Upon check-in only my fiancé was on the room agreement, not myself. Mind you, we both were present to check-in. The person working was already racist towards me an American, & my fiancé and African German-American. This guy wouldn't accept a $100.00 cash deposit, would not take my card because the room was in her name. I even showed him i booked it on my phone,my Expedia application, my email, He was rude to the point that we felt uncomfortable staying here. Especially with the derogatory names.
I even paid for the insurance, something I never do, my fiance told me to do it just to be safe. Only to find out the insurance is a joke. Pocket money Expedia gains long-term in hopes issues never arise from issues, a SCAM.
What Expediadoes do is say we refundedyour insurance, so as to not honor it.
Insurance fraud? Checking into that.
So if i pay for car insurance have an accident i just get refunded my insurance payment without the issue being covered? I think not.
We were hung up on by the first representative, had to call back... all this taking long-periods of time. To be refunded, customer service would not help us get a room, holding our refund hostage so we just slept in our vehicle because it was too late to try to find a place.
Insurance. Was a complete scam.
- Sara (8/5): - Not really
- ned (8/5): - My stay was good. No issues. I will return again. What I liked: bed was comfortable with good pillows and sheets, good towels and a very hot shower. The room was clean. The property is in need of an upgrade but met my needs for a 1 night stay.
- Jamanika (10/5): - Had accessibility room was set up perfect!
- Brian (8/5): - I had a very pleasant 9 day stay at HML and will definitely stay there again when I am in town.
- Scout (10/5): - I am so absolutely pleased with my stay at Hilliard Motor Lodge! What a lovely place. I arrived later than anticipated but didn't wait long in the lobby to have someone check me in. I loved all the plants in that area, and though I didn't take advantage of it, they had coffee available in the lobby each morning. Everything was clean and pleasant. Somehow the TV channels showing movies didn't even have commercials so that was very cool. I think the only thing to comment on, which wasn't a problem for me because I am short, is that the shower head was very low. So if you are a taller person, this might be challenging. But it was fine for me! Water was hot, pressure was fine. I really can't say anything even remotely bad about my stay. I would definitely stay here again! It was very nice. Easily 5 stars!!!
- William (8/5): - The friendliness of the staff and housekeeping crew was top notch.
I was disappointed the only thing that was offered was coffee from 6-11AM, meaning no type of breakfast items not even muffins nor donuts for the price required to be paid.
- Paul (10/5): - Friendly staff. Only coffee but no breakfast but terrific for the price.
- Paul (6/5): - Breakfast tasted watered down. Waffle mix was very thin, syrup cold, apple and orange juices had no flavor.
- Lisa (4/5): - Staff needs to have better eye and detail when cleaning the rooms. And clean the shower a whole better. I'm bringing my own cleaning supplies next time I'm there. Stayed several times and this is the 1st complaint I have done.
- Greg (8/5): - The room wasn't what I booked. I booked a single queen room and got 2 queen beds. Not an issue for our 1 night stay but it wasn't what I booked. The pictures online are different than what we got. Old and outdated room. The towel shelf in the bathroom was pulled away from the way at one anchor. The cleaning staff needs to do a better job. Metal lamps in the room which appeared to be pretty old. Overall, it was just ok.
- Joni (4/5): - I felt unsafe. Too much activity outside my door for my comfort. It was fine. I know now that I was safe, and I think it was blue collar workers just trying to make their way.
- larisha (6/5): - Property was decent, not as clean as it could be, but definitely not the worst.
- Jennifer (10/5): - Exceeded my expectations!
- Shelby (10/5): - Nice
- Robert (10/5): - Perfect for what we needed! Large clean room and comfortable bed ~ we'll be back next year!
- Shelby (10/5): - Nice
- Andrew (2/5): - Sheets were dirty , bathroom was not cleaned at all .
- carol (2/5): - One night stay in this motel. Someone opened our door in the middle of the night using his key! He peobably got the wrong room number, but why his key can open our room?
Next morning, the stuff knock our door before 8:00am while we still sleeping. Telling us there are some water problem and want us to switch to a different room. There is no sign of water issue. It’s a one floor building. We refused since we will be leaving in one hour. There was no noise around us indicating any emergency fix in the room nearby.
Don’t know what’s going on.
- Amis (10/5): - The property was in relatively good condition. Although there were some issues with certain amenities not functioning properly.
- Jyan-Jung (10/5): - Shopping
- Rosemarie (10/5): - the staff was very nice it was close to a lot of food places
- Harold (10/5): Great hotel for a convention - A week long convention trip. Bring your own coffee maker or go to the office for a free cuppa. Then again its right next door to a Tim Hortons with great coffee and fresh donuts. Stayed in a handicapped friendly unit cause both of us are disabled. Great Stay
- Janet (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay, the employees and pur surroundings. Little bit of everything
- Martha (4/5): - Beds were comfortable! Front desk could not find our reservation right away but after showing the reservation confirmation we were able to get the room. We had four people and there were not enough towels for all of us. Had to ask for more.
Very convenient to access the interstate.
- nephtalie (2/5): - I checked in 11 pm once I open the door room was smelled and dirty out property was terrible I have left to find another place with my wife and my two kids wouldn’t let my kid sitting on the bed this crazy I have never seen anything like this
- Jennifer (6/5): You get what you pay for - Third time isn't always a charm. The bathroom was disgusting, mold under the counter of the sink and an air purifier in the room should've told me to change rooms or motels.
- Greene (7/5): -
- Surya Prakash Rao (2/5): - No cleaning at all in the room.
Bathroom, wash basin and flooring no one cleaned. I won't recommend this hotel at all to anyone.
- Angela (10/5): The office staff was very nice - Clean
- Angela (10/5): -
- Jennifer (10/5): Overall worth it. - The check-in desk person was very hospital. The room was decent, a little out dated but can't really complain for the price paid for a week.
- karl (10/5): Good stay - Older property, but well maintained. Would stay again, extremely good interstate access and food/entertainment nearby.
- Paula (6/5): - The desk attendant was very nice and helpful. We asked for rooms next to each other, and they were happy to accommodate us with a smile. The price was the best part. When we got to the room, both rooms had an odor, the beds were made neatly, but had stains on the covers. Walls had smears, the mirror was not clean, sink faucet had stuff that could be scraped off on it. The bathroom could have been cleaner. The only way I would stay again is if I looked at the room before I paid.
- Matthew (10/5): - Check in was quick and easy. Room was clean and rates were affordable.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Review before staying - Rooms are not clean, rooms are invested with bugs that bites you while you sleep, stayed because I relocated to Ohio, will never stay again, left belongings was afraid everything was invested that I couldn’t immediately wash right away, spoke with property many times about bugs was told
To go by flea spray.
- christal (6/5): - Very nice front desk staff but my lock didn’t work on my door
- Nichole (10/5): - They have good customer service and kept rooms very clean
- Lee (6/5): You Get what you pay for. - You get what you pay for. We knew it was an older hotel so we expected it to be a bit outdated. No big issues. The cost was commensurate for what we paid for.
- Brandy (4/5): - Staff was very friendly other guest were very disrespectful and noisy
- Kelley (2/5): - The room was disgusting. We had bleach wipes and had to wipe everything down. We went to the store and got Lysol spray and sprayed the beds anf the pillows. We end up buying throws to cover up with and sleeping on top of the bed. We were there for a concert, so there were no rooms so we had to stay but never again do not go there. The cops drove through the parking lot three or four times a day.
- Kelly (4/5): - The room smelled like cigarette smoke, the lamps were filthy, there was rust in the refrigerator and the toilet was wobbly.
A random man was trying to get in our room and the man working at the desk simply said there’s nothing he can do… (he didn’t care)
Checkout was at 11:00 and housekeeping woke us up by banging on the door and OPENED THE DOOR while we were in bed at 8:00 am!!
Then she banged on the door again at
10:30.
I’ll never stay there again and you shouldn’t either!
- Quentin (10/5): - First rate check in I was checked in in less than 10 min
- Charlene (6/5): - No remote for the tv. No washcloth. Empty alcohol bottles in the garbage. Staff at check in was super nice and efficient.
- Andres yesid martinez (4/5): - When you opened the door smell like mold , maybe the carpet , big hole under the carpet next to the bed, the floor is like bumping . The smell at the bathroom was the worse like urine or piss. So for a last minute reservation is ok for last minute book no more than that , the carpet also is really really dirty .
- Makenzie (2/5): - The space was unclean with visible bugs. Staff throwing away belongings too. There were no toiletries when we arrived, and then belongings were thrown away after room service was done. The office entrance is also not handicap accessible at all.
- Krystian (10/5): - Worth the price. Pretty chill.
- Heidi (8/5): - Staff were very kind and helpful. Rooms were basic but fairly clean.
- The (10/5): - Very Clean. third shift attendant was very nice and cheerful.
- Murphy (9/5): Superb -
- Kay (10/5): - Really nice and very helpful
- Robert (10/5): - For a motor lodge it was a great experience. Rooms were spacious and cleaned every day. Tub needs an upgrade but it wasn’t terrible. I would stay there again with my family.
- Mary (4/5): - Close by to dinning and shopping and freeway accessible
- Mary (6/5): - The hotel was close to the stores and dining and easy access to the freeway. They need to do some upgrades to the furniture and room accommodations.
- Jeffery (8/5): - Older property and furniture in the room. Clean. Comfortable for my 2 night stay.
- Jenna (10/5): - Employees were super nice and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Many food options close by
- Susan (2/5): Icky. You get what you pay for. Could not leave fast enough at end of stay! - The location was convenient to the highway but so is the modern AVID across the street. The list is long: the stale, damp order; the damp rug and always damp bathroom floor even though we did not take showers; the chair at the desk had couple wheels folded over and the back tipped you too far back; lack of response requesting the chair be replaced over two night stay; a prong broken off in the plug in the lamp next to the bed; the room had fridge (with inch of ice in bottom of freezer), a TV, and microwave with only two plug outlets for the 3 appliances; tv console missing a piece of trim; control on AC broken; and security lock was falling off the door. Do you need more?
- Iris (10/5): - A safe place in a good area.
- Erin (8/5): - Fine for what I needed
- Lisa (10/5): - Our go to spot when in Columbus
- Jason (8/5): Basic room for basic people, satisfied - Usually smaller hotels get knocked down for any extra things that the big boys have. Most rooms just need a bed, shower, tv, fridge. No frills here, but efficient in what they have. Its not home away from home, its a hotel and has what every hotel needs to have.
- Heidi (10/5): - It was a clean place to stay
- Mary (10/5): - Quiet area Clean room
- Covina (8/5): Will stay again - Not a vacation spot to stay , but definitely fitting for a business stay for a few days. No bells and whistles, but a decent nights sleep.
- Butcher (8/5): Comfort at a great price - Staff was super friendly at this family ran facility. Room was clean and comfortable and easy access to food fuel and freeway One entrance for vehicles
- John (8/5): Very good - The coffee was excellent in lobby.
- Cortney (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chaley (5/5): Passable -
- Lisa (10/5): - Gonna be my go to place whenever I'm in Columbus
- Douglas (8/5): - I’ve stayed here many times, and usually have a nice stay! This time I had a nice stay until my last day. A man and woman was banging on my door at 10am asking me when I was checking out. That really upset me, because I was still sleeping! Check out time is 11am, so why are they banging on my door at 10am? I heard them do the same thing to my neighbor!! This is unacceptable! I enjoy staying here, but this is one thing that will get me to stop staying somewhere.
- CORINNE (6/5): Review - Price was good. Rooms were huge and clean. There wasn’t any soap in the room.
- Angela (8/5): Bring Wipes - Look, you get what you pay for. It wasn’t awful but it wasn’t great. It was quiet, close to everything we needed, and the staff were polite. The place is a bit run down and not exactly clean. I purchased cleaning wipes and wiped down every surface but unfortunately I didn’t have a vacuum so the crumbs stayed on the floor. We also found a sock and a pocket knife that were not ours. We’d probably stay there again on a tight budget but we’d be sure to bring Clorox wipes and a vacuum.
- Brian (8/5): - A good, no-frills option for a night's lodging. A bit dated, but everything worked and it seemed clean.
- 614krisb (10/5): Exceptional - The room was outdated but lovely and spacious. That's what I enjoyed the most. Some rooms are outdated and grimy. This was one of them. Felt like visiting the Schitt's Creek motel...
- 614krisb (7/5): Good -
- W (6/5): - This is not a bad place for the price, but the sound on my television came on at 2 o’clock in the morning. That was not at all helpful. After I figured out what was going on I was able to move some furniture and unplug the television so I could go back to sleep. When I checked out in the morning the clerk at the front desk seemed to think it was funny that had happened.
- Jennifer (8/5): - Was a fair stay. Door didn't lock properly and are was so so.
- Douglas (10/5): - Always friendly gentleman at the desk. Never have issues checking in when I stay here.
- Angrej (10/5): - Good
- Shsunette (7/5): Money worth - Money worth Little smoke smell
- Michael (10/5): - Didn't spend a lot of time in the room but was a lot better than I expected for the price. Great sleep in comfortable bed and warm inside
- Larry (6/5): - Clean room
- Jorge (9/5): Superb -
- Duane (10/5): - Good for the price point
- Wayne (6/5): - Ok
