Guest Reviews
- Andrea (3/5): Awful - Location We had to leave early (yesterday) due to the poor quality of the apartment. Chairs weren't stable at the dining area, settee collapsed as soon as it was sat on, lighting was awful throughout the apartment, terrible damp smell throughout the apartment, very cold throughout, internet didn't work, I could go on but needless to say we left after one night, we were supposed to stay for three nights. We would like a refund for our two nights we weren't there but don't suppose we'll get one.
- SHAHRULNIZAM SAUD (10/5): - Best sangat macam duduk rumah sendiri. Nak berlakon buat filem pun boleh Lantai bilik air bawah Dan tak Ada lubang air keluar
- Sally (8/5): - Location Could have done with better lighting for putting on make-up
Sat nav code takes you to Kendall lane
Which is confusing when from out of town. But we found it in the end.
- Ria (10/5): Fab place - Location and design Everything was perfect so loved everything
- Daniel (7/5): Enjoyed our stay in a lovely old building but the state of the furniture was quite disappointing. - Was in a convenient location and had everything we needed. The sofa lounge is in desperate need of being replaced as it is falling apart. We unfortunately had an issue with a blocked shower drain, which to the managers credit, was eventually fixed.
- Hill (9/5): -
- Hill (9/5): - Great location Tv aerial wonky
- Craig (8/5): - Location Smell of damp
- CAROLYN (7/5): Enjoyable stay in great location and spacious apartment. - Great location, easy free parking, large apartment in fantastic old building, lovely kitchen and shower room 3 adults staying and I requested an extra toilet roll but request was ignored even though the manager text me to say she would ask housekeeping to drop one off but when I confirmed that we had been left our allocated 2 rolls- nothing was delivered. Very dark in main bedroom as 2 bulbs not working. Sofa pull out bed very shabby - peeling leatherette cover. Sheets and towel for the 3rd person on the pull out did not seem fresh - I felt they had been stored underneath the sofa for a while. Bathroom sink took a long time to flow away and soap dispenser did not work. More care over the property and a more proactive housekeeping would turn it from a good place to stay to an excellent place to stay.
- Jo (5/5): Good location, nice building but poorly maintained and calls to housekeeping service were ignored - Spacious, good location, quiet Bathroom was mouldy, and there was no toilet paper or tissues. Contacted the help number given, but they didn't answer or phone back, so had to buy our own
- Kieron (10/5): A great 3 days - Beautiful, historic building Parking a little dicey
- Jean (9/5): Really spacious apartment - Well appointed, comfortable and really spacious Nothing
- Anthony (7/5): Nice enjoyable stay :) - Very spacious apartment. Great location and had everything we required and as advised within the booking.
For the price per night, it was a decent value.
Overall, a great location and lovely stay. A few things let it down from being an amazing apartment.
Lots of missing lightbulbs, which was very noticeable when trying to get ready.
Mould in the bathroom.
A few bits of peeling wallpaper, walls painted over without the surface being sanded and the sofa could do with an upgrade.
These are all small tweaks that would take the apartment from good to great.
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julie (9/5): Superb - Housekeeping staff were exceptional.
Well equipped kitchen.
- Colette (7/5): Ok for the price - Lovely grand high ceilings Cleaning wasn’t the best
- Branwen (9/5): Quiet luxury near city centre - This is a quiet and spacious apartment- just 10 minutes walk to main shopping streets it’s comfortable and well equipped
- Dafna (9/5): Very nice and comfortable apartment - The apartment is very cosy and nice. The bathroom is beautiful and very comfortable and the kitchen is very nice. If you plan to sleep on the couch in the living room, keep in mind that it is very soft and not comfortable for sleeping.
- Zain (9/5): Superb - Location
Very spacious and clean
Much better value than hotel
Can get hold of reception via phone if needed Nothing
Note to future guests:
If the car park is full due to full booking, and you have anything but a small car, parking will be very tight / not possible. I advise you check with owner that there will be space. Parking is included in cost. There was plenty of space when I was there.
I would recommend
- please fix toilet roll holder in bathroom as it is loose
- I arrived in the heavy rain. I think slightly more detailed instructions on where to find the car park entrance and where the key boxes are would be helpful
- Tanya (10/5): Beautiful appartment -
- Louise (7/5): Excellent location and nice apartments though logistics could be better - Spacious, well-equipped and a great location. Decoration needs attention in places - cracked walls and peeling paint. Parking is a headache as people don’t keep to their allotted spaces. My space was occupied both days and the staff weren’t able to resolve it. Reminder to park appropriately should be spelled out in the pre-arrival note and the spaces can be better marked on the ground to demonstrate the correct angle so all cars can get in.
- Denise (9/5): Very comfortable, convenient and excellent value for money - The location was perfect for our needs & only a 2 minute walk from where we were visiting The paintwork in the living room was a little flakey in places & could do with a refresh but it wouldn’t cstop me from booking another stay as the rest of tge apartment was so lovely
- Elisha (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is modern, spacious and has just about everything you could want. The location is great for easy access to the Uni or town centre. The property manager was super kind and friendly. We loved this place. Nothing.
- Denise (8/5): Disappointing - The location was perfect, just a ten minute walk into town.
Beautiful old building with character.
Loved the high ceiling in the apt.
Lovely clean kitchen & bathroom which is also very stylish. Walls needing attention in most rooms due to cracks in plaster.
Had to wipe down most surfaces in lounge & bedroom.
Pull out sofa was found on leaving to be dirty underneath with the addition of bottle tops.
Pillow & quilt for sofa bed really do need washing after each guests have left..
Would suggest providing cleaning products under the sink for use.
No welcome pack.
- Kath (9/5): Great stay - Location was great, just a short walk into the city, and the fact that there was parking was a bonus! Would definitely stay again. The lighting was a bit low, needed to open the curtains in the bedroom to let natural light in to do my make up!
- Elsa (9/5): Superb - Nice apartment and facilities
- Joss (8/5): Perfect for what it is - Was exactly what we were after. More homely than a hotel. Parking is tight, but providing others park sensibly, not an issue.
- Julie (10/5): Exceptional - Quiet, spacious, short walk into city centre. We always stay here.
- Warren (6/5): Pleasant -
- Julia (5/5): Inadequate lighting - Location good. Free car parking Very poor lighting in apartment. Apartment beginning to look a bit tired
- Marie (10/5): Marvellous - We arrived a little early but nikki welcomed us and even gave us somewhere to wait with a welcoming cup of tea till our room was ready. Nothing
- Abhaykumar (6/5): Pleasant - Nice property The key box visibility in night is almost pathetic . If it’s on Right hand side it will be more visible . In left sometime not able to understand where to look as not visible from door
- Danielle (7/5): was good and nice place just the bed wasn’t great and very uncomfortable. also not property fault but there were rats ou - good location, size of property was good, tea and coffee providesd 2 single mattress together rather than a double mattress, very uncomfortable and pillows were horrible to sleep on.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Lesley (9/5): Superb - Staff especially Nicky couldn't do enough, friendly, accommodating , always helpful. Second visit and will stay again, only thing i could say as a slight negative is that some of the decor is starting to look a bit unkempt and is getting ready for re-doing.
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Jack (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jennifer (10/5): Corson at Claremont - Spacious and cozy prime location. Had trouble with taps( my bad) but sorted by host quickly. Nothing to fault
- Gloria (8/5): Very good - Needed a slightly better description of entrance. I came in the back entrance and was confused about where front door was. There also needs to be an up-to-date phone number for house manager borth on Booking. com and in the building itself
- Hugh (8/5): Very good - Big, tall rooms Mould on the window frame in the bathroom
- Mark (9/5): Superb - Excellent location with a short walk into the city centre. Apartment starting to look a bit tired, could do with a lick of paint but by no means did it affect my stay.
- David (7/5): Good - all it needs is a lick of paint
- Christine (7/5): Good location, nice apartment but needs updating - The character and proximity to the University The property was tired, the decoration needs updating. The sofa was not very comfortable. A welcome pack would have been a nice touch.
- Stephen (8/5): Great - Building and furnishing lovely Very damp smell in bathroom
- Simon (7/5): Another enjoyable stay at the Claremont Apartments. - Very spacious apartment with separate living room, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, well kitted out, comfy bed, quiet location Property a little tired - could do with a little refresh - a lick of paint and a deep clean. Cleanliness was good but some areas could have been cleaner eg. Carpets and rugs and outside the shower area
- Paul (10/5): lovely comfortable apartment well equipped for a stay away from home, ideally located to the hospital - really comfortable apartment
- Michelle (9/5): Conveniently located walking distance to the City, quiet area, exc value for money, spacious. -
- Peter (2/5): Very poor -
- Kemjika (10/5): enjoyable trip - fanatic facilities. nothing
- Elle (8/5): Good but could be better. - The apartment was nice and perfect for a group of three, with amenities as listed. The bathroom had a few silverfish and the kettle was a little grimy.
- Shannah (7/5): Break in Leeds - The apartment was spacious with excellent parking. The kitchen and bathroom had everything you would need to enjoy a relaxing stay. Unfortunately on our final morning there was a foul smell coming from the bathroom - as if there was something wrong with the plumbing. This dampened our stay as we woke up to this smell.
- Linda (10/5): Brilliant location - The whole ambience was amazing would definitely highly recommend The signage as on a main road had to go up and down twice nothing else to dislike
- Andrew (6/5): Pleasant - Beautiful building, especially the common areas, high ceilings, well equipped kitchen and bathroom. Could do with redecorating, paint flaking off tbe walls in some places, and big cracks.
Also, the bedding wasn't the best quality and could have been fresher.
- Isabel (8/5): value for money, ideal location and everything we needed for a comfortable and independent stay in Leeds. - lots of space and excellent amenities for a get together with my daughter . compared to downstairs apartment I’d previously booked , the Corson had a separate bedroom and living space with sofa bed allowing more space and privacy for sleeping and working time. the heaters were effective at making it cosy after a few hours. the large space meant it was freezing cold on entry and the bathroom smelt terrible ( damp) initially . both were resolved by keeping heaters on for a few hours and airing the place out, which we were a bit reluctant to do. the furniture was a bit unstable and dining chairs and sofa not overly comfortable, but ok for a couple of days. paintwork in need of refreshing but didn’t spoil our stay.
- Savannah (9/5): fab stay would stay again - everything ! lights in front room were either on or pitch black , silly but everything was fab
- Hayley (1/5): Disappointing - Very clean apartment
10 minute walk from trinity shopping very convenient Beds very uncomfortable, great size (however this is two singles put together) but myself and partner did not sleep well each night at all
Broken chair in bedroom at desk
Broken sofa, part of this just caved in when you sat on it
Broken TV in bedroom, my partner had to fix the Ariel to make it work
No running hot water for our last 24 hours of stay, management offered partial refund for this but now are declining this since we have left
Boiler (hot water) for the apartment was set as timed due to 'cost of living' which is unacceptable
- Oluwatayo (1/5): Would absolutely NOT recommend. Overpriced and totally disappointing. - The location was fairly decent, a bit of a trek to get to but quite close to the station.
The kitchen was nice - well furnished with a wine fridge but with no sponges or washing up liquid available.
Other than that (which should be considered the bare minimum) there wasn't much good to report on. The apartment was dirty - I informed the housekeeper of this and they suggested I clean it myself. It had clearly not been cleaned prior to my visit *dirt in the tub, toilet seat etc.) which for the price paid is entirely unacceptable and hugely disappointing.
The "double bed" is two beds pushed together which was incredibly uncomfortable for a couple.
Also, the property is a lot more run-down and in need of repair (i.e. the broken table and chair legs, the malfunctioning tvs) than the pictures let on - I would strongly advise against staying in this property - it was just a huge waste of money and entirely disappointing.
- Xanthe (8/5): A very comfortable stay in a really attractive, convenient location. We will definitely return. - Claremont apartments are incredibly generous spaces in a grand building with an impressive entrance hall. The decor's tasteful and the place spotless. The location couldn't be better. A few minor quibbles:
An air freshener diffuser made the flat smell of cleaning fluid. We hid it in a lidded saucepan in one of the kitchen cupboards and it smelt fine after that!
While comfy, the king size bed was two mattresses pushed together: not quite the same as one large mattress.
Some of the plaster had blown in a few places, a curtain was coming away from the rail and one of the chairs was wobbly but generally the flat was in a very good state of repair.
The freezer compartment in the fridge was frosted up over a useless ice tray and an empty bag of ice.
Better lighting in the bathroom would have been helpful and also a full-length mirror somewhere for getting dressed. There were plenty of mirrors in the apartment but none you could check your outfit in without standing on a chair!
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Martin (10/5): Quiet short stay in Leeds centre. - Large apartment, located close to Leeds city centre. Quite easy to get else where around Leeds surrounding area. It as every thing you need for a short stay. The bed was comfortable and found it very quiet during the night. The surroundings were quiet as well, may be the time of year. Not what you expect for a city centre location. Found the sitting room lacked some (couple) lamps its the main light or nothing. Also the room due it size a bit sparse empty and needs some more seating like a arm chair and desk and chair. These didn't spoil the stay but would make it more comfortable.
- Martin (7/5): Good - some of the living room furniture needs to be replaced ; one of the dining room chairs was broken, so was uncomfortable to sit on, the top of the dining table was not fixed securely to the legs and the seat of the chaise long section of the sofa was broken, so sagged into the base as soon as anyone sat on it.
- Mark (9/5): Superb -
- Patricia (8/5): Very good -
- Stephen (9/5): Fabulous - Self contained - comfortable bed - large bath
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Philip (9/5): Superb -
- Len (9/5): Perfect stay! - The place was amazing, we didn't want to leave! We couldn't believe the size when we walked in the room, to the kitchen (with a dishwasher and everything we needed - even a wine cooler!), into the big bedroom with the lovely sized bed and into the stunning bathroom. I had to take a trip to Lush to get a bath bomb to take advantage to enjoy a relaxing bath! Was great having free parking and although we had the car with us, we got ubers to the centre which were only £5-£7 a go, although they seemed to struggle to find us, great location close to the centre but quiet and felt safe. We loved our stay and think we got quite a bargain. This has become our favourite place to stay in Leeds. We hope we get to stay during our next visit - we have a few gigs lined up next year already! 10.30am checkout seems a little too early, it's usually 11am everywhere else and that half hour makes a difference to us as we like a good lie in, especially when we had to strip our own bed and empty the bins etc so had to get up earlier for that. Larger towels would be nice too and one of ours had a hole in. None of these things were a big deal to us since we were so happy with everything else but worth a mention.
Although - NO FULL LENGTH MIRROR! The place is huge so please add a full length mirror in there somewhere for outfit checks.
- Brandon (8/5): It's okay. - Clean facilities
Sizeable rooms
Exactly as shown in the advertised images Bed was uncomfortable and made of two single beds meaning a clear and painful split was down the middle
Instructions for leaving and cleaning were a bit much and very specific / passive aggressive with fee threats.
Illogical furniture such as there being no full / easy to see mirror as bathroom mirror is chest up + dim lighting and bedroom mirrors are for sitting down.
Sofa is hard leather so the living room was never used.
- Schitta (7/5): Good - Nice and big apartment with great kitchen and bathroom. City center is walkable. There is no lift. I stayed on the 2nd floor, carrying big suitcases up and down was quite hectic!
- Anna (8/5): Very good - Location for dropping daughter at uni residence Lounge - uncomfortable sofa area. Darkness of whole flat. Noise as single pane windows
- Lisa (8/5): Very good -
- John (6/5): Pleasant - Most things great There wasn't hot water on the 2nd day.......we were asked to shower in adjacent flat....luckily not occupied.
- Ian (7/5): lovely and would recommend and stay again - size of apartment and facilities in rooms and bathrooms just the warmth in the bedroom during the night, fans were provided as standard which helped a great deal
- Wightman (5/5): Fantastc property right in the heart of Leeds - The venue is superb, the location is superb. I was attending a festival at the O2 Leeds which was cancelled. In addition, the grace period for cancellation had passed, so no refund entitlement. When i suggested to the owner that might consider readvertising it and "if" they were able to relet it, they could consider letting me have a 50% refund as a goodwill gesture. So 150% for them. The response was we would go out of business if we did that...
- Maisie (9/5): Superb -
