- westbrook (10/5): very affordable and comfortable - great location made getting around easy, the beds were comfortable and loved the central heating made the place warm and cosy. Staff gave great recommendations for activities to do, and we loved the ACMI center. no lock on the bathroom door was the only thing we didnt like
- Emma (10/5): Exceeded our expectations. Comfortable and spacious - Bigger than expected. Large rooms. Great kitchen. Comfortable lounge room.
Easy entry with clear instructions. Nothing! It was great!
- Eugene (9/5): Felt so much at home - There was no breakfast. Would be good if it could be possibly included Everything was quite upto the expectations. Keep up the good work !
- Meg (9/5): -
- Kent (8/5): Value for money stay in a good location - The location near Rod Laver Arena was excellent for what we required. Clean, comfortable and had basic kitchen amenities. Noise from the apartments above and the air conditioning from the building next door. None the fault of the apartment itself. Apartment #2 Anthony.
- Helen (10/5): Mary McKillop Spiritually Centre is now our home away from home. - Secure, convenient and had all that we needed for our stay. The staff were friendly and very helpful, especially Vicky in the Office.
We both agreed that it was very personal and we were welcomed like visiting friends.
- Louise (9/5): Great secure location for the city - Location, security, parking
- Linda (7/5): Very nice, would stay again - Location was great, very close to everything, cosy room, great kitchen, spacious, overall clean, tidy and excellent value for money. The beds were a bit hard and there was mould in the shower
- Marlene (8/5): - Great location - about two and a half blocks to city. Comfortable lounge room, good shower and kitchen (though we didn't cook in it). The bed was slightly too firm for us.

- Frances (8/5): - Position opposite Fitzroy Gardens All good
- rafael (10/5): Très bon séjour dans cet endroit calme proche du centre ville et en face d’un parc - Très bien situé avec un très beau parc juste en face . Et accès facile à pied au centre ville

- Elaine (9/5): - Beautiful old chapel. No nearby eateries that we could find.

- Stephen (7/5): -
- Alexander (8/5): Overall had a great experience - 1. Perfect location – right in the city centre and within easy driving distance of all the main sights. For those who enjoy a good walk, many of them are even within walking distance. Despite that, it’s in a quiet spot opposite Fitzroy Gardens, which is ideal for a stroll.
2. Free on-site parking – having our own car park at no extra cost came in really handy.
3. Friendly and helpful staff – approachable and keen to assist.
4. Easy self check-in – very straightforward process, especially since we arrived after reception hours.
5. Great value for money – particularly for families. Booking an apartment for four worked out much better than getting two separate hotel rooms. Having a kitchen plus a washing machine and dryer was a big bonus.
Heating deserves a special mention – a very useful feature when the weather gets cold.
6. The place also has a distinctive atmosphere, with a small Mary MacKillop museum and a gift shop inside. What could be improved:
1. Kitchen and bedroom equipment is limited – only three hangers per bedroom, and just three spoons and bowls. No decent pot with a lid, and the frying option is an awkward electric pan. For four guests, it’s simply not enough.
2. Electric stovetop is frustrating to use – it requires pressing a button to activate, but it keeps switching off every few minutes, so you have to constantly monitor it while cooking. Not practical at all. It may be faulty and worth checking.
3. Shower setup isn’t ideal for young kids – a handheld shower hose would make things much easier.
4. Cleanliness could be better – it felt like the cleaning after previous guests wasn’t quite up to standard.
These are mostly minor issues, but addressing them would significantly improve the guest experience.
- Emily (10/5): Clean accomodation in a great location with fabulous staff and surprisingly big apartment with all the comforts of home - Clean, fabulous helpful staff and a great accessible location for access to medical services and public transport Noisy building works next door
- Robyn (7/5): -
- Willsher (8/5): This was a comfortable well priced place to stay as a solo traveller. - Beautiful, unique property opposite the Fitzroy Gardens, set back from the main road. I felt safe as a solo traveller as the property was well secured. Easy check-in/out when I arrived and left out of hours. Very good communication by the centre. Travelled by train, and the nearest station is a pleasant 10-15 minute walk away. Trams are very close by, too. On-site parking was available if required.
- Mark (8/5): Great location, quiet, good value for money. - No breakfast provided- we didn’t find any A bedside table on both sides would be better. Bed was just ok. Good value for money
- Marie (10/5): - Great location. In city but nice and quiet. Brilliant place to stay.
- Natalie (10/5): A comfortable spot opposite the Fitzroy Gardens. Easy walking distance to the city. - Car parking, location and after hours entry.
- James (10/5): - Big apartment and great location. Could easily stay for a long time.

- Susan (10/5): Hidden gem - Clean and comfortable. Quiet. Well equipped apartment Nothing
- Kerri (8/5): Would definitely stay again. Good for families. - Lovely welcoming staff on arrival. Nice location. Noisy. Could hear people in adjoining rooms, not very sound proof.
- Simon (7/5): -
- Johnson (10/5): -
- Chambers (8/5): - I liked it was real value for money the location and the history nothing about the place to complain about
- Joanne (10/5): - Excellent location. Rooms were exceptionally comfortable Bathroom was clean, but some small mold areas. No face cloths in room
- Anthony (9/5): -
- Karina (5/5): Under whelming - The location was good and the price was good Beds were uncomfortable, no mattress protectors and there was coffee splashes on the window sills, walls and floor. Didn't actually interact with any staff either, the key was in a lock box with a code. The microwave was dirty too
- Ian (9/5): - Facilities and location was excellent None
- Li Li (8/5): -
- Catherine (6/5): -
- Reena (7/5): Good value for money and Convenient location - Old but well maintained property. It had everything we needed including a secured parking. Appliances in the kitchen should be upgraded.
- Mark (8/5): -
- Wendy (8/5): Quiet retreat opposite gardens - A midweek night spent at Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre was excellent, with a friendly, helpful welcome from staff, who personally showed me to my apartment. The apartment was very clean, well presented and maintained, and provided a quiet, safe place to rest for a solo female traveller, (and ample room for my friends, who couldn't Come in the end!).
Opposite Fitzroy Gardens, with an excellent café. Nothing, I'd stay here again!
- TAKASHI (7/5): -
- Miyuki (8/5): -
- Christine (10/5): - Close to hospital A low hum of a motor nearby
- Diane (10/5): A somewhat hidden inner-city gem for those seeking quietude and comfort. - My studio was quiet and immaculately clean, tidy and warm (I stayed on a freakishly cold autumn night), the bathroom well-appointed, and the bed wonderfully comfortable. And had I been staying longer than one night, the kitchen facilities would have been very useful.
It's worth emphasising here that MMSC is an excellent option for women travelling alone - not only is there a convenient carpark on the premises, but also ample security. I felt safer here than I've felt in most hotels.
Further, it's considerably quieter - no partying, loud TV or other annoying noises coming through from adjacent rooms.
Finally, sincere thanks to the staff member who was extremely kind and helpful when I called to say I was running late. There's no aspect at all that I'd criticise strongly - quite the opposite. The only thing I'd mention is that it would have been nice to have even some modest biscuits offered alongside the tea and coffee. But that's a very minor and subjective nit-pick, rather than a complaint.
- Richard (7/5): - Convenient for my needs Noise from unit above. Heavy walking sound and dragging of furniture was fairly constant.
- Wendy (8/5): -
- Simpkins (8/5): I would stay here again. Great location and value for money. - Location was great. Staff were lovely, helpful and friendly.
The apartment was roomy and good kitchen facilities if you needed them.
Off street parking included. Bed was not the most comfortable
- Shoma (10/5): Delightful stay. - Spotless, comfortable, well equipped, quiet and cosy accomodation, walking distance to the meeting I was attending. No issues at all.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very convenient peaceful location with adequate facilities for self catering. - Quiet and peaceful venue. Communication regarding booking and access excellent. Lovely position opposite Fitzroy Park and close to transport and hospitals. The double bed was short for my 6’2 husband, toilet seat didn’t stay up, and there was only one fork. There was what looked like black mould in the shower but the rest of the place was very clean.
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- TerraAustralis (9/5): Secure and comfortable apartment. - The privacy, and quietness. The ease of access. Parking although we were uncertain at first if it was the correct parking area. The cleanliness, room layout and the laundry. Building next door under renovation with lights on overnight preventing a peaceful sleep due to light intrusion.
- Noeleen (9/5): Peaceful place to stay in Melbourne. Opposite Fitzroy Gardens. - Great location. Accommodation is only a short 1.5km walk from Melbourne city, grocery shops & other areas. We caught an uber to the International Flower Show at the stunning historical Exhibition Centre which is also opposite the Melbourne Museum, you could walk there. Accommodation is opposite the Fitzroy Gardens & a short walk from St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Parliament House & an interesting sculpture showcasing Victoria’s Suffragettes.
- Anne (10/5): Magnificent as usual and a feeling of safety for us and for our parked vehicle. Happy in our choice. - We love the establishment and all that it infers; quality and peacefulness in our accommodation. A great place to stay as a home away from home. Facilities are exceptional. Staff are super helpful. Nothing.
- Olivia (9/5): Beautiful Accommodation - Location (could walk to CBD and go for runs at Fitzroy Gardens), facilities, staff were so kind. So lucky to have found this gem. Figured out late where we could get replacement towels, but manageable because the room had laundry.
- Ann (9/5): - Value for money. Great location.
- Georgina (8/5): Enjoyed a quick overnight stay. A lovely, quiet space. - Close to transport options and walking distance to CBD shopping, theatres, cafes and restaurants. Quiet area, opposite green space. Parking is available, but I used public transport this time. Ideal for solo travellers.
- Johnathan (10/5): -
- Mateusz (10/5): -
- Brett (8/5): -
- Lucas (9/5): -
- Peter (9/5): -
- Kaylene (9/5): Perfect - Absolutely perfect. Great location, quiet, secure parking, clean and comfortable
- Kylie (7/5): Good location it the facilities were untidy. - The location is perfect for a trip to the MCG. This time round our room was dirty, the benches hadn’t been wiped, there was hair on the bathroom floor (it was long and black) the shower was riddled with mould, the cutlery in the drawer hadn’t been washed between guests. Also the lady who checked us in must have had a bad morning she was quite short in her response and her tone suggested we were a bother.
- Emma (10/5): -
- Alister Bizjak (10/5): -
- Marc (10/5): Séjour agréable et super bien placé : pas besoin d'utiliser les transports en commun - Rien
- Genevieve (9/5): -

- Carlea (10/5): - Lovely area and was easy to use transport.
- Renee (10/5): Always lovely - The site is quite it is easy to navigate and it is in a really lovely area and not far from the CBD.
- Tricia (8/5): -
- Leanne (8/5): - I have stayed at Mary's numerous times and find the location it's best asset. The Heritage Centre is at the edge of the city across from Fitzroy Gardens. The setting is quiet & welcoming. The decor is very dated, but the apartment has everything you need.
- Nigel Jennings (10/5): - The appartment is compact but has everything one needs. Its location is perfect
- Arlene (10/5): -
- Sabia (9/5): -
- Lisa (7/5): -
- Lav Jay (10/5): -
- Chris (10/5): - Staff and accomodation were excellent and it is perfectly situated for seeing the city sights.
- David (7/5): -
- Loretta (10/5): Loved it great place to stay. - Great spot, friendly staff, clean rooms. Parking on site was great. Kitchenet was well stocked, full size fridge, cooktop and microwave. Heating and cooling. Shower head was a bit blah. No view from our room but we were not there to look out the window. That is about all I could find wrong with the room.
- Andrea (10/5): Great place to stay in Melbourne - Location was fantastic, staff were friendly. Will definitely be back Nothing
- Murray (8/5): Convenient place close to the city centre and good value. - The apartment consisted of 2 bedrooms with room for 4 people plus lounge kitchen and bathroom with washing machine and dryer. . It is like living at home with the things you would normally expect to find there. The kitchen is well fitted out with all you would need for cooking. There is plenty of parking on site which is hard to find in this part of Melbourne. It is a shot walk to the city centre from here or you can catch a nearby tram. No supermarket or restaurants/pubs close by. But only about a 15 minute walk away.
