Guest Reviews
- Nicoleta (5/5): - Very clean Very cold
- Pamela (1/5): It was a nightmare experience that I am pleased to share with any prospective clients. - It looked really nice - warm and cosy - on the listing, and I looked forward to staying there for 2 nights in January. Also VERY handily placed to refuel my car and buy wine and spirits and other essentials Arrived in temperatures of -2 * (officially “felt like -4”) . Disappointed by building waste piled in the drive, and its ghastly position immediately next to a filling station/convenience store on a busy main road. Entered the property. No heating, no visible signs of how to turn heating on. ICE COLD! Knock on main door several times, no answer, but dogs bark. Try to ring hosts several times. There is no welcome note, no property instructions, no milk/tea/coffee, it’s just an unwelcoming IGLOO. I feed my dogs, using 2 bowls, (they later refused to refund the already paid cleaning fee! ) .By now I am perished with cold after a long and tiring journey ( I am 73) and unable to cope with the cold any longer I book the dogs and I into the heavenly and warm Malmaison Hotel in the centre of Cheltenham.
Despite all reasonable requests for a refund
the extremely spiteful hosts have refused
any refund. The property was uninhabitable by any measure: the internal temperature was hovering at freezing. The hosts knew what time I was arriving, have never issued a word of apology, and I consider that their inclusion on Booking.com should be reviewed. I am able to show evidence of all my claims, and indeed have invited the hosts to give me evidence of the heating and welcome instructions in the property.
- Howard (8/5): Good base for the Cotswolds - Although there was street parking near the accommodation, it would have been better if we could have had access to the drive.
- Ian (10/5): a little gem - this is a true little gem of a find. the location was perfect for us. the owner where very helpful. they stay made our weekend even more memorable. thank you. nothing
- MARIA (8/5): -
- Steven (1/5): Miserable 😞 - Left straight away Building site outside, no parking, pub is false advertising and a ten minute walk away. Not dog friendly due to not being able to allow dog outside which had debris around.
- Jackie (9/5): Perfect bolthole for a couple - Prestbury is a lovely location, ideal for getting into Cheltenham or the surrounding area
The annex was small but perfectly formed with lovely decor. Comfy bed and great shower. Id recommend a filter coffee pot and egg cups to make the stay even more perfect!
- Jenkins (9/5): Cosy accommodation! Hosts were very helpful during our stay, which we really appreciated! - The living room/kitchen is smaller than expected.
- Georgina (8/5): - We had a lovely stay and the owners recommended some great places to visit 😊
- Catherine (8/5): -
- Richard (9/5): Nice easy stay in a lovely apartment, perfect for our needs. - Compact 1 bedroom flat with sofa bed perfect for a couple of small family. Tastefully decorated and well equipped especially for a short visit.
Dog friendly.
Short walk to a couple of good pubs with food.
Petrol station and shop next door which was handy for our onward journey. The main house and grounds is still a building site the family are completing, which we weren’t aware of before arrival although there wasn’t any noise interruption as we arrived late-ish and were on our way in the morning.
- Karen (10/5): - Immaculate accomodation beautifully decorated, a real calm haven. Everything we needed for our weekend stay attending an event at Sudeley Castle 15 minutes drive away.
The instructions sent before arrival were thorough and gave me everything I needed to know for a smooth trouble free arrival, something that makes a big difference for me!
- Craig (10/5): We stayed here as we attended a funeral close by. This was walking distance and had everything we needed plus more. The - The apartment was just like the pictures, really nice and everything you need and more. You have you’re own space and walking distance to most things There’s nothing I can say I did not like about this place
- Rolly (9/5): The bed was comfortable( only stayed 1 night). It was a good location. - The place was a good location for us to stay while visiting the Cotswolds. The only thing was it could have been better to use the parking space in front of the house for a peace of mind( the other part of the house is being renovated so the parking in front is not usable).
- Ajay (1/5): Disappointing, creepy, poorly maintained, miserable stay. - - The entrance to the place was dilapidated and extremely dirty. Can't imagine how people live here.
The exterior images on the website do not belong to this place.
The owners of the property were rude and didn't want us to take pictures of the exteriors.
The lights in the toilet did not work. We had to manage with our cellphone torchlights! The toilet door also had a hole in it.
Through the night there were noises which made our stay even more miserable. We just wanted to leave.
- Steven (9/5): Great value for money - Great decor and furnishings, amazing shower. Noise from room above during night was disappointing
- Maite (10/5): Exceptional -
- Steven (9/5): Superb -
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jody (10/5): Exceptional - Great location
Cosy & warm
Clean & tidy 🙂 Nothing. All good
- Paul (9/5): Very enjoyable - Property was done to high spec, ideal location for Cheltenham races it’s only 15 min walk away, some lovely local pubs within walking distance and convenience store next door which is ideal hosts were very friendly and helpful will definitely be returning
- Ian (10/5): A very good place to stay. - Lovely welcome. Comfortable, well equipped (there's a good quality, sharp knife in the kitchen for preparing food - most unusual!) and matches the description. Our dog was most welcome and we would happily come back.
- Maggie (6/5): Very adequate - V clean, quite pleasant No parking situation next to garage
- Mary (9/5): Perfect for a 1 night stay. - Location, very well appointed accommodation and comfortable bed. Nothing
- Mike (10/5): Great stay for us thanks to our host's lovely annexe and hope to stay again later this year! - The annexe was extremely well presented with everything you would need for your stay and more. It was a great base for us to visit family and a comfortable walk into Cheltenham centre via the park. Close by are places to get essentials and petrol with a number of pubs within easy reach for food etc.. The hosts are very friendly and helpful if you need anything. Nothing...it was a perfect place for us to be close to family and friends yet come back to our own little home between visits!
- Maggie (1/5): Bad - Building work was there at 7 on the morning not good we should have been told before we booked it that building work was going on we would not have booked this
- Christina (10/5): Great place to stay and excellent location for walks across the Cotswolds. Abbie and Phil are great hosts - we had a wel - Very cosy, clean, well equipped and comfortable.
- Jason (9/5): Lovely stay so close to all the sights of the Cotswolds. - Property is nicely decorated inside. Has good facilities and is very well priced. Hosts spoke to us and were lovely. Easy to get to and parking was easy.
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- John (9/5): Exceptional - Lovely property, exceptional decor, great facilities. Nice location with local amenities. Super bed. Super shower. Road outside requires traffic calming. Not used to traffic noise at home so as it was a very warm day and windows open was noticeable. On street parking is available but might trouble some if not close by.
- Lynda (9/5): Superb -
- Amanda (10/5): Perfect! - Exceptional accommodation in a perfect location for a trip to the races.
- Alexandra (10/5): Ticks so many boxes. Great! - What a beautiful place. So richly decorated. Great to have our own entrance so as not to disturb the owners.
Next door is a petrol station. Almost opposite is the Bee Hive pub. 20 minute walk to Prestbury Park.
It was perfect for us.
The hosts were so kind and gave us plenty of clear information which made finding it and checking in a breeze. Pricey for one night. I do understand that during the races, room prices soar but it stings a little!
Would love to book again though.
