Staff gave me a hard time to get a replacement card when I was locked out. Not once did she ask for ID but 1st asked ne to use kiosk, (which i informed her doesnt work for me), then asked about what room who in the room where ny key etc.

I want to preface- this is a long, well earned review. I grew up in a single parent household poor and financially struggling, so I lived the American dream as every other kid (community college, big university, health industry job, suburb house). I have lived in many states and cities and have been exposed to the highest and lowest echelons of American classes and cultures. This review is entirely from my own personal experiences and perspective- and in no way biased besides my own memories and life experiences. My anniversary vacation started with not being able to find the Rusk House building at night of checking in; the construction happening on the surrounding streets made it difficult to find the correct one way street to follow at night. Realizing that Google Maps wouldn’t bring us to where we wanted to be, we shyly called the Rusk House and asked for instructions to take to the building. We circled around approximately 4 times before we came across the right intersection that brought us to the door of the valet. Despite this, me and my partner still had very high spirits for our anniversary night, and were pleased with the kind gentleman at valet, who let us access our car even after parking (+1). Well you know this went downhill quickly, like being at the top of a rollercoaster at Six Flags, and I’ll tell you exactly why. A woman, in her late thirties or forties, not particularly tall or short but African American, was our receptionist for our night out in the town. With all the necessary tools for one’s yearly valentines day/anniversary celebration carried in your hands (+ luggage from being out of town) in our hands, we approached the only white counter at the entrance expecting to check in (My hands were both full and heavy). I kid you not, we stood there, out in the lobby, standing in front of the receptionist with 4-5 bags of luggage in hand, and asked about checking in for a reservation, something like “Hello, I’m here to check in”.
- Alexander (10/5): - The distance to Toyota Center and how clean it was a the 24hr coffee station. Loved everything
- Nancy Taylor (9/5): - Easy to manage. Nothing
- Solano (10/5): -
- Timothy (6/5): Good location, few issues - Location downtown. Close to highways. Staff was friendly for the most part. Shower water pressure was close to zero. First 2 days was good then last 3 the shower wouldn't work because the water pressure was so low the valve you pull up on the faucet wouldn't stay up.
Valet kept messing up. Staff comped my valet so that was a wash. TV remotes didn't work. Elevators made a clanking sound all night and on the pullout sofa it was quite noisy in room 1102.
I'm sure we just got a buggered up room and I bet you the rest of the place is great.

The interiors are so beautifully designed, clean modern, ultra comfy! I’ll be back. Staff is always friendly and helpful. And the onsite restaurant is very delish! I love everything about the property except proximity to a park my dog can go off leash. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a short walk, but in the rain when she won’t even think about going on leash, it would be nice to be able to find a spot closer than several blocks away. Not the Rusk’s fault at all! They are flawless. Love, love!

- Araceli (10/5): HOUSTON RUSK - EL APARTAMENTO MUY LIMPIO, AMPLIO Y COMODO. BIEN UBICADO. ESTA UBICADO EN ZONA FINANCIERA, POR LO MISMO DEBERIAN DE HABER INSTALADO VENTANAS CONTRA RUIDO. EN EL EDIFICIO SE ENCUENTRAN 2 COMPAÑIAS QUE RENTAN LOS DEPARTAMENTOS. TE REGISTRAS EN UNA TABLET (NO ENCONTRABA NUESTRA RESERVACIÓN) HABLAS AL TELEFONO INDICADO Y NADIE RESPONDE, NOS TUVO QUE AYUDAR UN CHICO PARA EL CHECK IN. EL MONTO A PAGAR FUE DISTINTO AL INDICADO EN BOOKING. (SIN CONTAR LOS IMPUESTOS QUE SE PAGAN POR CIUDAD)

- Seasha (10/5): Fabulous - will def visit again soon - Our stay at the Rusk House was amazing in every way! Can’t say enough good things. Beautifully updated while respecting the original historical building.
- Belinda (10/5): Beautiful, Wonderful Hotel with LOTS of space! - This hotel was beautiful! Great location. We will definitely stay again. No onsite parking but we did park across the street and the price wasn’t bad. We did not vallet, just parked ourselves for less
- Robert (10/5): -
- Dr Fawaz (2/5): Disappointed - Location The Lady receptionist and the mistake made for my payment. Paid full amount when checked in and later again day before checkout
- Katherine (10/5): Best value for a convention center visit in this clean bright hotel/apartment. - This is the second time we've stayed at this great value downtown Houston hotel. The apartments are the upper floors of a Club Quarters hotel. Apartment was well stocked with kitchen dishes, pans, etc. and had a microwave/oven combo. Very clean and modern with super comfortable bed and couch. Like all Club Quarters, there was a sitting area downstairs with 24 hr coffee (including Lattes), tea, etc. Very friendly and helpful staff both behind the desk and walking around managers making sure we were happy. Ten minute walk from the convention center but there is a light rail right outside the door. Finally, having a 24 hour front desk and hotel like service and safety but still having a 2 room apartment is the best of all worlds for a multi-day stay. The building itself is older so there was an incomplete flushing issue the second day, however when we called there was a maintenance man there immediately who fixed everything. There isn't decaf tea in the downstairs sitting--horrors :) This place is great.
- Mclemore (10/5): It was perfect! - Everything Nothing
- Jasmine (10/5): - The area and staff None

- Diane (8/5): - The hotel was convenient for walking to restaurants and the convention center. It was modern, clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and friendly. The cafe breakfast was quite good. Espresso machine in the lobby is a very nice touch. One issue I had, perhaps just because of where my room was, was very loud clanging in the elevator shaft. I used ear plugs to sleep, so I could dampen the sound.
- Norberto (10/5): - Great place to stay.
- Claudia (10/5): - The only issue I had was with trying to find the hotel. There's no real signage, so I circled it multiple times. Other than that, it was so beautiful. The rooms are actual apartments, so I loved it! Would definitely stay here again!
- kenneth (10/5): - Very nice downtown location. Near a lot or attractions and dining options. Took the city bus to and from the airport it was only a dollar:) Used the Train and bus for most of my trip. A cheap and convenient option once I figured it out. Very nice hotel highly recommend it.
- Harmony (10/5): - The property is quiet and laid back. I will say that the room I resided in had a little bit of noise for it was near an elevator. Also, the shower curtain was dirty. Otherwise everything was satisfactory
- Nicholas (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay and the room was very nice.
- Franz (9/5): -
- Andre (5/5): Undue consumption charges - Great room, comfortable. Location is great if you're looking for a property downtown in Houston. Check-in process done with the staff is faster than done on the tablets. The property charged me for consumption I didn't have. I had to call them to get that fixed.
In decades of travel, I couldn't find another situation in which I was charged for what I didn't consume, and that's the reason for the negative review. I believe this is either a major process escape for the hotel or an ongoing practice that charges customers, which may have been done in bad faith, and therefore wanted to the community to know about it.
Overnight parking is significantly more expensive than public parking available nearby.
I also found human hair on the shower.
- Florencio (10/5): - Clean rooms with lots of space. Lots of things within walking distance.
- Margarita (10/5): - Beautiful space! Comfortable and flexible for our needs. The location was convenient as well. Close to the mosts active areas of downtown but not so central that it's overwhelming.
- Tomas (8/5): -
- Christian (10/5): We will definitely be back! - It gives you a high upscale stay feeling. Staff was super nice, welcoming and helpful! The room we stayed in was spacious, comfortable and very clean. Definitely gives a homey feel to it. We were on the 12th floor and the added security to use the elevators with your room card was awesome knowing not just anyone could get up to your floor! We definitely will be back! Traffic was the biggest downfall
- Raven (8/5): - Location was perfect & walking distance of 10-15 mins to our destination & to get something to eat late night on Main street! Hotel check in was easy & room was cute & very comfortable & I felt very secure. Parking overnight in the deck was the only option at 22$ for overnight. The only complaint was there was evidence of an animal being in the bed & there was animal hair on the bathroom floor & on the wash rags. I usually bring my own towels/cloths but it was a 24 hour stay. Other than that 10/10 stay & will definitely be staying here again!
- Linda (10/5): - The room was great. Clean and the staff was nice. Will definitely stay again. My favorite place!
- Missy (10/5): Comfortable stay - The apartment was well appointed and designed. The bed was AMAZING! The kitchen had most items necessary for a week stay. The microwave-oven had directions in Spanish so it was not easy to navigate cooking. Dishwasher did not work. The phone hotel phone did not work, but the hotel's texting AI was great, easy to get attention by texting for towels, trash bags etc. They had a Nespresso coffee machine in kitchen, but did not use since they charged for the capsules. Next stay I will bring my own. I went down to lobby each morning for coffee from their wonderful machine for free. Towels were plush. Access to printer was great. Lobby is beautiful with cool music piped in. Very hip with good design. Great stay for a business trip. Saved money on dining by using kitchen and stocking fridge with food. One problem initially was that we were driving around looking for 'Rusk House' on the building. We saw Club Quarters had the address and was confused. I suggest they have some signage on bldg with both names. Also some of the staff had a snooty attittude, but most were very nice, accomodating.
- Edmond (10/5): - Valet guys are the best THE BEST thank you
- Tiffany (10/5): - Great stay!
- Debbie (4/5): - The staff were very dismissive, unfriendly and not helpful. Absolutely no acknowledgment when we arrived as they were more interested in their personal devices and social media than attending to guests. They gave incorrect information when they finally did interact.
I clearly booked apartment for 3 guests and the pull out sofa had dirty linen.
Housekeeping promptly removed and gave me new sheets in which I had to make my own bed.
Housekeeping also advised if we wanted servicing to remove dnd sign from door.
One of the days removed sign and when we arrived back quite late in the evening room had not been serviced.
Our booking included full breakfast however the cafe waiter got annoyed with us when w presented voucher and told us we were not entitled to it and wanted to charge us, however the booking clearly stated we were entitled and we had been given a voucher for 3 guests on our check in.
Tolled kept running all night. Very noisy outside with music blaring at 3am.
Although the building and rooms were lovely the general experience at The Rusk was very disappointing and will never book their again. As well as will tell every friend, colleagues etc not to bother with this accommodation.
Houston has a lot of competition with great cities in the US however service in general in Houston was the worst I had ever experienced in any city. With World Cup coming in few years Houston really needs improve their overall service.
- Armando (10/5): - Great place to stay when in downtown Houston.
- Nina (8/5): - I felt secure and safe, that I will stay there again. The food at the place is great. I loved the shrimp and grits. Also loved the veggie omelet.
- Josephine (8/5): - Great location, nice facilities, spacious No aircon/fan to main bedroom so a bit hot
- Ria (6/5): My wedding weekend - The hotel overall was really nice. The staff, valet, the rooms. Everything was good For what i paid. All of our food went bad because the refrigerator didn't work. No housekeeping, the restaurant was way overpriced for the food. It was not that good. They could do a whole lot better. The day of check out, housekeeping didn't knock. She just opened the door, and it wasn't even time for us to be out.
- John (9/5): Lovely room in nice hotel - Location was very central. Staff were fantastic Chosen at last minute because of messed up booking. Was slightly more expensive than we wanted.
- Amber (10/5): - The room and bed were very comfortable. The location was perfect. The bathroom was very small and cramped.
- Teakorya (8/5): - Enjoyed our stay
- Charisse (10/5): Great stay at Rusk - Everything was perfect with our stay. The room was very nice with plenty of room. It was very clean. The Bistro at the hotel has excellent food and drinks.
- Juan (10/5): - Excellent valet
- Nicolson (10/5): -
- Kimberly (10/5): - Very clean and well decorated!
- Mitsuo (8/5): -
- Shelby (10/5): - Wonderful A1 staff, building is nice, only complaint is it can be a bit noisy but that’s most places downtown
Valet parking is biggest perk, cheaper than most places and very convenient
- Kawonna (3/5): Unable to shower and the front desk staff was rude and are liars. - The property was located in the perfect area for my trip. The apartment was clean, and the bed was comfortable. The water pressure was low and the shower hose leaked. I didn’t want to ruin the floor of the bathroom so I was not able to take a shower. I informed the front desk and was told that they would send maintenance to assist, maintenance never showed up. I called back after 30 minutes and was rudely told that T did not want to resolve the issue. They offered to switch my room at 12:35 am. My daughter was sleep and it would’ve taken us 30+ minutes to pack our stuff and move yo another room. I spoke with Brennon(front desk clerk) the morning as we checked out. I explained to him what happened and he promised to change the nightly rate to $75, and guaranteed that the price would be updated within a couple of hours. I checked my account to find out that they did not honor what I was told and charged me more than what he promised. I called the manager Mark to inquire, he called Brennon and the young man lied and said that he didn’t say what I stated. I watched him type in $75 for the night and trusted that he was a man of his word. I was not able to properly shower after walking from Shell Stadium on a hot humid night in Houston. It to mention there was condensation on the toilet seat, and cover throughout the day that we had to constantly clean and a horrible ring inside of the toilet. I’m disappointed and the young man blatantly lied. We stated in room 1102. I chose not to ruin their property because of their plumbing issues, and feel as if I was wrongfully inconvenienced for doing the right thing.

- Richard (10/5): - Great customer service. Great location. Great value
- Mickael (9/5): - L’appartement était spacieux, bien équipé, confortable, déco sympa.
Café dans le hall à toute heure.

- KEIA (10/5): Beautiful stay in a wonderful building, chef’s kiss! - Loved that there is a restaurant on the premises and the food is really good! The rooms are incredible and overall the staff was great. There two interactions with mid staff but the rest of the staff that interacted with were 15 out of 10! Friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and kind. The valet service was top tier- no long waits for your car and the price was reasonable. The bathroom had long stringy black hair in the tub and on the shower walls and the floor and the tub was not properly cleaned.
- Amanda (8/5): - The gym
- Kateryna (10/5): - Everything was good, enjoyed our stay. Room was great! Better then we expected
- Chiara (10/5): Meraviglia - La posizione, la pulizia, l’attedamento studiato nei minimi dettagli.
- Srini (10/5): - The property is well maintained and the staff is very friendly. We have used valet parking and the service was good overall. Coffee in the lobby is good. Used the restaurant/bar a couple of times and it was good.
- Kianna (8/5): - Spacious rooms and very comfortable beds.
