Guest Reviews
- David (10/5): Great value and a good location - Great value and a good location for a few nights stay in Scarborough..The apartment was clean and had everything we needed..
- Lisa (10/5): - Lovely light, airey apartment. Very clean had everything you needed. Great location Nothing
- Melanie (8/5): Good location with easy parking - Really comfy bed and apartment had everything I needed There is a smell of smoke in the entrance but inside the apartment is fine
- sally (9/5): - Good location and comfortable apartment with all you would need
- Helen (8/5): -
- Stephanie (9/5): - Perfect location to explore Scarborough and the surrounding area.
Comfortable property with great facilities.
- Vicky (9/5): Fabulous stay, good location. - Fabulous stay and can’t recommend enough. Super clean and modern. Nothing.
- Gail (9/5): Cosy and modern little apartment - Very modern, great location, super comfy bed, free parking slightly up the road was good so we didn't have to worry about the zone parking and even though the apartment was cold when we arrived, we turned on the heating and it warmed up quickly. The apartment was a bit smaller than I was expecting, but it was totally fine. The only downside for us was that the blinds didn't block out much light so the bedroom was very light in the morning and woke us up early. I think curtains would be better in the bedroom to keep it dark
- Alan (10/5): Fantastic two night stay. Should have booked a longer break. - Excellent holiday apartment. Warm, cosy, very modern and meticulously clean. Only just arrived home and planning to return as soon as possible. Highly recommend. Nothing.
- Jay (9/5): -
- Jess (10/5): - Beautiful apartment great location and had everything we needed
- Stephen (10/5): Ideal little place for a nice short stay. - We thought that the property was ideal for a short break. And no doubt we'll be back!! We didn't have a parking permit.
- Anthony (9/5): - Cute, stylish apartment in a quiet building. Fantastic.
- Helen (10/5): We stay in many accommodation types across the country and this was one of our absolute favourites - Exceptionally clean Nothing to report , just perfect
- Piotr (10/5): -
- Cassandra (10/5): Ideal cosy apartment for two by the sea! - Lovely cosy apartment with everything you need. Nothing
- Alan (9/5): Would book again - Location good. Shower and kitchen good. Well appointed. Overall, a comfortable, pleasant apartment. Entryphone didn't seem to be working so slight problem with meal delivery. No problem for me but the flat is up several flights of stairs so probably not suitable for anyone who has mobility issues.
- Leanne (9/5): -
- Mike G (8/5): Comfortable modern unit - Modern unit with most conveniences. Located close to Scarborough Spa Cliff Lift. Quiet unit with parking close. Raised question of host on check in but never received response. Note: Unit description says Washing Machine but this was actually a Dishwasher. Bedroom very light at night due to lights on at rear of hotel behind unit.
- Dawn (10/5): Ideal for what we needed - Modern clean and comfy The bed was a little hard and small
- Ian (8/5): -
- Joe (8/5): Good value one bedroom apartment - Good value for money, tidy well equipped apartment , in a decent location , free on street parking close by. Nothing really I didn’t like about the apartment
- Neil (10/5): Great apartment, fantastic location - Extremely clean and tidy.
Excellent location for our walking holiday. Probably a shelf or 2 in bathroom for accessories etc.
- Margaret (10/5): - Modern comfortable apartment in a quiet central location. Nothing
- North (9/5): - Has everything you need, a little walk into town and free parking on the road close by.
- Sharon (8/5): Weekend stay July 2025 - The Apartment was clean and had everything we needed. The bed was really comfortable, which is important to us. It was easy to access the apartment as we received instructions in plenty of time. It was very quiet, with hardly any noise from neighbours It would have been beneficial to check out at 11 am or 12 noon, instead of 10 am
- Tracey (10/5): Perfect - Very well maintained And clean. Good facilities Nothing
- Rachel (9/5): Superb - Location was great for us, nice walk along to sea front to the town. The flat was lovely, nice and cosy and had everything you needed.
- Daryl (10/5): Weekend break! - A clean, comfortable and well appointed apartment in a quiet part of town but close enough to walk to the main attractions.
Hosts extremely friendly and helpful with great communication. It’s clear they take great pride in what they do. Highly recommend NA
- Angela (8/5): Very good -
- Kirsty (10/5): Brilliant hosts and great place to stay - The property was close to where we were visiting and was able to walk straight into Scarborough down by the sea within 10 mins.
- Katy (7/5): Good -
- Sean (8/5): Very good -
- Adrian (9/5): We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend. - Very clean and modern. Everything you need for a short break. Radiator in bedroom makes a banging and knocking noise - not good in the early hours.
- Sooraj (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mike (7/5): Overall good but far from excellent. - Good location for easy access to town and the bay, parking is on a restricted parking zone of up to 3 hours between 9 and 5 but unlimited parking is available within a couple of minutes walk. This is better than other apartments closer to the town centre. Clean and good facilities but not excellent. On the small side but more than adequate for a couple’s short break. Comfortable bed. We stayed at the Artist’s house a couple of weeks earlier prior to staying at Ivy Shores so we could make a direct comparison. The overall average score on booking.com for the Artist’s house is 9 so by comparison Ivy Shores would score 7-7.5. A few small things can make a big difference. Once we established the correct key code for access, the flat was cold, taking a few hours to heat up by means of wall mounted electric convector heaters. On a self catering short break, there are a few items you expect to find at the property, but were missing. A cafetière would have been nice as not everyone likes instant coffee. Other items we expected but were absent included scissors, kitchen towels/tea-towels, a teapot, eggs cups, oven proof dish and a corkscrew of course! (Not all wine bottles have a screw top). Oh yes, no instructions for the induction hob and the shower run uncontrollably scorching hot which was reported on departure. We got home to freshen up with a shower. Overall good but far from excellent.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (6/5): Pleasant, suited our purpose for visiting Scarborough. - Handy for the Spa. Good for a 2 or 3 day break. Little contact on leaving.
- Mark (10/5): Like a bee soaked in honey - The property was clean, modern and in a excellent location. Would highly recommend to others and would stay again. Can’t fault the property
- Nina (7/5): Enjoyed a break away, nice place but too far from Scarborough - The apartment is lovely and was spotless clean It’s too far from Scarborough or anything else nothing around it. Needs a tv in the bedroom too
- Liz (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucy (10/5): Exceptional - Wow! What a lovely apartment. It was like a little home from home. There is everything you need for your stay. The communication was excellent, the attention to detail was phenomenal, the location was perfect (only a 5 min walk to the cliff lift and right onto the south beach), we really can't fault it. Would 100% stay again 😃
- Natalie (10/5): Quiet - Everything Nothing
- L (9/5): Superb -
- Paula (10/5): Cute little apartment, comfy bed! - Cosy little apartment, close enough to town/beach!
- Ellena (9/5): Superb -
- Paula (9/5): A great flat, great location, close to the sea which we loved. - Excellent location, clean, very well presented
- Carolyn (10/5): Exceptional - It had everything you needed
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was really comfortable and in a great location, the perfect size for two people. The owners were incredibly communicative and helpful - overall brilliant stay, would highly recommend. Everything was great, nothing to fault whatsoever.
- Robb (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean and tidy. Very well presented with a well resourced kitchen.
- Bethany (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely clean apartment, great location to explore Scarborough.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment is a perfect size for 2. It was very clean and the complimentary Items are very thoughtful and a welcome bonus. Chloe also left us some extra clean towels half way through the week without having to ask for them which was a nice surprise. The location was perfect and we will definitely be booking to stay here again when we come back.... 5* from us 😊 The bed was a little harder than we were used to, but it wasn't really a problem when we got used to it
- Carolyn (9/5): Tastefully furnished - The apartment was really tastefully furnished. The location was great for us, we had no difficulty parking a little way along the road. The bed was really comfortable.
- Gayns77 (9/5): Superb - Lovely apartment, faultless had everything we needed.... The stairs up to the apartment were a bit much for my partner as he suffers from bad legs.
The walk into town was a fair way. We had to order taxis, but the service was outstanding 👌🏻
- Rebecca (8/5): Gorgeous mini home from home - Loved this little apartment it was like a mini home, lovely & clean, great kitchen with a few essentials provided which was nice. Nice bathroom with good shower, all very bright, light & modern. The only thing that could have been better would be to have a king size bed, but that is just personal preference.
- Christopher (8/5): We were v happy with the flat - it was immaculate, good facilities and great on street parking. - location ideal for gig at the spa Any chance of shelf provision in bathroom as nowhere to put anything down - if you wear glasses it's a big thing! Also perhaps a hanging thingy in the shower? same issue with shower gel, shampoo, conditioner = nowhere to put anything and had to put on the floor of the shower. The place itself is REALLY well put together so these are just suggestions pertinent to us!!!
- Victoria (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely little apartment with everything you need for a short stay.
Very clean and the bed is super comfortable.
- Judith (10/5): Great for a quick stopover - Great location
- Barbara (9/5): I wish I could have stayed for longer it was so good. - It's in the best part of the town; the quietest and so near the sea and easy walks. Lovely breakfast at the spa which is close by on the beach. Lovely pub around the corner for an evening meal. The appartment was so well equipped, so clean and comfortable. The owner was extremely helpful. Booking.com system of emailing the code for the key. This was not the owner's fault.
- Inns (8/5): Very good - Lovely apartment. Clean, homely and loads of natural light. A mirror in the bedroom would be handy to free up the entrance to the apartment when someone is getting ready. More milk/toilet roll would not go amiss.
- Hazel (10/5): The perfect place: location, amenities, standard of accommodation and host - The property was spotless. Fantastic welcome pack on arrival. Top quality appliances. The bed was very comfortable. Plenty of hot water and good heating too. The hosts were attentive and helpful. Useful welcome book too. Lots of useful suggestions for places to visit.
Fabulous location. No negatives
- Swift (10/5): Exceptional -
- Vicky (10/5): Lovely homely apartment - Lovely location
Everything was perfect down to the small details
Including salt and pepper and tea/coffee supplied. Nothing
- Wayne (10/5): Fabulous - Everything Nothing
- Katy (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, quiet, 10 mins from Railway station. Bus stop close by. As well as Tesco and local shops.
Sea front also close by. The key box was fiddly.
- Dawn (9/5): Superb - Cosy apartment Needs hooks in the bathroom for towels and a small dressing table in the bedroom and mirror above it to get ready
- Varun (10/5): Value for Money, Excellent Experience - Everything thing was very well managed, communicated and maintained. Full marks for cleanliness, communication and instructions, really enjoyed our stay at Ivy Shores. N/A
- Kevin (10/5): Fantastic place to stay and in a great location. - The apartment is extremely homely and welcoming. It is exactly as the pictures show. Extremely clean and fresh. Only a short walk down to the seafront or up into town so ideally located. Will definitely stay here again next time I visit. Chloe was extremely helpful and check in was extremely easy. Fantastic stay.
- Sarah (10/5): A wonderful welcome! - We enjoyed the home from home feel of Ivy Shores.
The location was perfect for us.
The hosts ensured we had everything we would need for our stay.
Particularly nice touches were having the heat on for our chilly arrival & the thoughtful leaving of snacks too.
It was only a brief stay this visit but would have happily stayed longer at Ivy Shores, & look forwards to knowing for further trips we have a trusted place to book.
- Samantha (10/5): Excellent value for money - Perfect little apartment good location. Excellent standards and looks exactly as the photos. Beautifully furnished.
- Marie (10/5): Great hosts, facilities and location. - Everything about this booking and stay was great! Communication from Chloe was clear and fast from the outset. We let her know our arrival time and we were able to check in early using the lock box, and the instructions were all easy to follow. We parked directly outside the building using the parking permit provided and after a long journey, the welcome card and gifts of milk, biscuits and popcorn were very much appreciated. The apartment is perfect for a couple, it was immaculately clean and the decor was calm and very considered. We had everything everything we needed, the bed was comfortable and the towels fluffy! The location is good for all that Scarborough offers, with an easy walk over the Spa bridge into town or down to the beach. We would definitely recommend this apartment and will be back ourselves, we loved it! Nothing
