- Jennie (7/5): Brilliant location, a few easy tweaks to elevate the experience! - Location is brilliant, at the best end of town but still fairly quiet with lots of nice cafes and beach access close by. Nicely immersed in the jungle and in keeping with surroundings and as expected kitchen area. Host was friendly and responsive. Lack of privacy (other guests walking by and no solid curtain to block view into room or black out). Near a loud road so fairly noisy at night. We stayed 5 nights and the room was never cleaned or towels changed (this was an extra cost) which seemed excessive but is needed given the outside shower and toilet.

- Anja (6/5): Extrem laut und staubig durch die Straße, nette Bungalows - Die Bungalows sind wirklich sehr nett und stehen in einem kleinen schönen Dschungelgarten. Lucia ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit, sie hat uns direkt eine Liste mit Empfehlungen geschickt. Zum Strand 5 Minuten. Die kleine Anlage befindet sich direkt an der Hauptstraße. Das ist so auch beschrieben und man muss sich deswegen natürlich auf Lautstärke einstellen. Was aus dieser Beschreibung leider nicht hervorgeht ist, dass die Straße nicht geteert ist. Dadurch ist es extrem laut und extrem staubig! Alles ist schmutzig und mit Staub bedeckt. Nachbarn spritzen die Straße zumindest mit Wasser, so dass der Staub minimiert wird. Wir waren zur Hauptsaison da und es war wie neben einer Autobahn. Es gibt sehr viele Quads die unglaublich laut sind. Auch mit Ohrenstöpsel war an Schlaf nicht zu denken. Wir haben nach einer Nacht (Statt 5) abgebrochen und sind trotz der entstandenen Kosten umgezogen. Die Bungalows sind sehr nett, nur unsere Matratzen waren völlig durchgelegen, siehe Bilder. Die Bungalows stehen sehr eng, wer Privatsphäre möchte ist hier falsch.

- Sabrina (6/5): Uns hat die Unterkunft nicht so sehr gefallen. Es sieht sehr hübsch aus aber vieles ist unpraktisch und uns war es zu la - Der Garten ist hübsch. Die Bungalows sind zweckmässig eingerichtet und sauber. Lucie ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Die Better waren ziemlich unbequem. Im oberen Stock schlafen war für die Kinder wegen der Hitze schwierig. Stühle auf der Terrasse klappten beim draufsitzen zusammen. Wegen der befahrenen Straße eher laut. Kochen schwierig mit den vorhandenen Utensilien. Für eine 4 köpfige Familie ist es sehr eng.

You can see and hear monkeys and birds, which is great experience. The hosts are super friendly and helpful. Hammock in the veranda is perfect place for relax. Beach is very close, within the walking distance. The place is located next to the main street crossing Santa Teresa, so sometimes it might me a bot noisy from the passing cars.

- Pénélope (10/5): Beautiful and charming wooden bungalow we felt at home! - Buena Onda Bungalows are really a jewel in Santa Teresa. It is situated at the north of Santa Teresa further away from the the dazzling activity (but still very close to restaurants & bars)f the city and 5 mins from the beach. The design is amazing (special mention for the outdoor bathroom) and we really felt like home since day 1! There is all you need if you need to cook your meals and water is drinkable from tap. Lucia is an amazing manager always available to give advice and help you with everything you might need - never be afraid to ask with her! We had the chance to meet Alberto (the owner) who is super nice and we really felt that he put all his heart in this beautiful small hotel. We read in the previous comments that there were some roosters making noises however it is not the case anymore :) Congratulations guys we hope we will be back soon ! Nothing
- Jamie (5/5): Nice property, but what we were expecting - Cosy stay, as described! Great to have howler monkeys climbing in trees and just over the bungalows. The outdoor shower was fun! Great to have parking on site. The location wasn’t great. It was right by a busy road and a fair walk to the beaches. The road was very muddy and dirty with lots of traffic. This is nothing on the actual property, but we would were expecting it to be calmer and easier to access a beach. Again, not their fault but there was a big power cut so the WiFi was out, and no signal was available in that location at any point.

It blends perfectly within the "St Teresa vibe" and we loved the privacy of the property, although being super well located near the best restaurants and supermarket. The bungalows are bigger than expected and super well equiped, with an awesome outside shower. The host (Lucia) was the best, always available and super helpful. 10/10 definitely recommend

The host is such a lovely, open-hearted person who gave us many great advices for our daily plans. The best thing about the accomodation was that we we were surrounded by monkeys and birds and stunning plants! So many butterflies and colibries visited us during our breakfast on the terrasse - this place is worth visiting

There is a coffee shop right next to the property which was just perfect. The concept is fantastic and you really get to appreciate the jungle life. The bungalow itself has everything you need. Your own kitchen, bathroom with hot water (which is rare in the area) and a comfy bed with AC. I will be coming back in my next visit to Santa Teresa. Highly recommend to anyone looking to experience the really deal. Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Confortable bed, a lovely outdoor patio and the kitchen has everything you need! they also provide coffee, sugar and a complementary beer when you arrive. The outdoor shower was an experience we will never forget. Showering under the stars was an absolute dream. Our host Lucia was lovely and gave us lots of recommendations for bars and restaurants. the best part: everything is walking distance! The beach is just a short walk away and perfect for surfing! The nature around the property makes you feel part of the jungle. We really enjoyed our time here and will definitely come back next time we are in Santa Teresa.

Even if the bungalow are close to the others, you still have some privacy Very Clean Depending on your bungalow you can really be close to the main road that can be noisy. Also, their are some roosters nearby, so if you plan to sleep late bring earplugs !

- Rukshan (10/5): Corner of paradise in the heart of Santa Teresa - My stay at Buena Onda was exceptionally good. The place is a quite and calm corner of Paradise conveniently located at 100m from the Beach and surf spot. The restaurants and the supermarket are really nearby, perfect if you wanna grab something to eat after or before going surfing. The bungalows are super comfortable and made with design, and everything was really clean. Loves the staff that was super welcoming. Nothing, the place was absolutely great.

- Craig (7/5): Santa Teresa is very busy. Buena Onda did provide a respite from the hustle and bustle town. - Location was good. Toward the north end of Santa Teresa so road traffic was not as heavy. Very quiet and quaint. Staff was excellent. Didn’t like the chickens crowing during the night but that can’t be controlled. Took a bit of mental adjustment to use the commode outside. But it was private.
- Bailey (4/5): Stay somewhere else - Bungalows looked cute from the outside! Nice landscaping. Next to great cafe. We ended up leaving a day early because this was nothing like what we were hoping for. The place was really tough to find and the host was not helpful to the people who were trying to assist us in finding it. Not beachfront as advertised. Pretty far out of town. Overpriced for the basic accommodation that offered very little privacy and was mere feet from the other cabanas. The back door didn't lock, and when it couldn't be fixed, the host said, "Don't worry, no one will break in". There are a bunch of chickens next door (chicken farm?) that were calling all night, and in the morning after having little sleep, we woke up to a text about them fumigating next door so that we should get out for the time being.

Would recommend if you want a quiet and beautiful place to stay, but I also recommend renting an ATV, as the distances trough Santa Teresa Main Street is long (but close to the beach), and Taxi is really expensive here.

The howler monkeys were fantastic to watch from the hammock on the porch. It was very easy to stay here without transportation. It is very conveniently located.

- Anthony (6/5): Despite the dust, Santa Teresa and our stay there was lovely. The beaches; the seas and the sunsets make it all worthwhi - Lovely concept. The bungalows are beautiful and the room and kitchen areas very nice too. Quite a stunning concept. Our bungalow was close to the dusty main road so not only was it noisy, it was very dusty. It’s such a shame the road at that part of Santa Teresa is not paved … it would have made a big difference.
- Sindija (10/5): Jungle Charm: A Cozy Retreat with a Touch of Wild Costa Rica - Our stay was truly delightful. The room, though simple, offered a very warm and inviting atmosphere. The host thoughtfully included small shampoos, shower gel, and coffee for our first morning, along with two beers in the fridge. The outdoor tropical shower was an incredible experience. The host also sent us an extensive list of noteworthy sights and places to visit, which greatly facilitated our exploration. Conveniently located, breakfast spots are just a short walk away, and restaurants range from 2 to 10 minutes on foot. The beach is a mere 4 minutes away. We probably missed only swimming pool here.

Overall style is cool. For a couple who's out all day it's great. It's a walking distance from the beach. For a (surfers)couple it's ok. Location is a bit noisy; close to the road. Cabana's are close together; small terrain. If someone is smoking you'll notice. 2nd bed is pretty hard. It's all a bit small and crammed for a family. Kitchenette is a basic. Not really for cooking. Price/quality not in balance.

Kitchen and bathroom outside so you can experience the jungle whilst showering. Close to beach. Host Lucia was fantastic and helped with all our queries. Very close to an unpaved road so vehicles clattered past. Quieter at night but still some disturbance

I enjoyed the kitchen and fixed breakfast in the mornings with ease. It was a bit further from the beach and other activities than I had hoped. These bungalows are perfect—beautifully constructed, comfortable amenities, close to eateries, and walking path to the beach. The outdoor shower was incredible—attached and private, but within the tropical vegetation that so perfectly encompasses each bungalow. We will definitely stay here again if our travels bring us back to Santa Teresa. Nothing—it was wonderful!
- Stephanie (10/5): The perfect relaxed vacation spot in nature. - This property is an absolute gem! The location is great with an easy, quick walk to the beach, well stocked grocery store and dozens of yummy food spots. The family bungalow was very clean and fit our family of 4, the outside shower was perfect after a day at the beach, the beds were comfortable and the outdoor kitchen had everything you needed including a chance to watch howler monkeys, hummingbirds and geckos as you drink your morning coffee. The owners are so warm and friendly and happy to help with anything we needed. Highly recommend this spot if you want a unique, relaxed, close to nature vacation spot. My only tip is to bring ear plugs if you are a light sleeper as the howler monkeys and roosters talk to each other throughout the night . nothing

First and foremost, the hostess Margeritha went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. From the moment we arrived, she greeted us with a warm smile and welcomed us like old friends. Her kindness and helpfulness made us feel right at home, and we were grateful for her hospitality throughout our stay. The resort itself is a true paradise, surrounded by lush greenery and stunning natural beauty. The grounds are immaculately kept, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. We particularly loved the comfortable bed, which ensured a good night's sleep after a day of exploring the local area. Speaking of the local area, Santa Teresa is an absolute gem of a destination, and Buena Onda is the perfect base from which to explore it. Whether you're looking to relax on the beach, surf some world-class waves, or immerse yourself in the local culture, there's something for everyone here. Overall, I can't recommend Buena Onda resort enough. If you're looking for a place to unwind, recharge, and reconnect with nature, this is the place for you. Margeritha and her team will ensure that your stay is nothing short of perfect, and you'll leave feeling refreshed, rejuvenated, and already planning your next visit. Trust me, you won't regret it!

- Talia (10/5): Glamping at its finest! - Cute bungalows allow you to be close to nature without sacrificing modern creature comforts like plumbing and air-conditioning. Friendly and helpful staff helped me schedule excursions and were very accommodating. Close to the beach and dining. Or just spend the afternoon relaxing in your hammock. The water on-site is potable. Each bungalow has full kitchen with stove and refrigerator. Wish I could have stayed longer!

Location is good too, close to the beach and shops. 15 mins walks to main centre in town but safe to walk. Patio with a kitchen was great as we could cook and prepare a meal ourselves. The problem we had with cleaning as cleaning was provide weekly which was a bit problem as in toilet we need to take rubbish ourselves (a bit problem in costa rica as you not allow to put toilet paper into toilet and needs to go into bin).

Also for o - Eco friendly, very helpful staff & made good recommendations for tours and rentals, safe, good internet connection, close to beach. Noisy neighbours (people not the chickens), quite far away from town especially if walking at night, bed wasn’t comfortable & room was quite dark. No option to have the bathroom cleaned or fresh towels throughout stay.
