• Allan (8/5): A good location for visiting downtown Laurel. - Friendly helpful hosts and great communication. Near to downtown and good parking on site. Looked the same as online photos and lots of personality in the property. Comfortable spacious covered outdoor seating area, although the tv was in the bedroom. I had to sit in the bath to use the shower, limited workspace in the kitchen for preparing meals.

• Michelle (9/5): We enjoyed our stay and were very comfortable. - It was quiet and private. The garden is beautiful. The hosts were welcoming and friendly. It’s close to town and was well stocked with coffee and having a washer and dryer was a great feature. The bathtub was charming but difficult to get in and out of.

The unit had everything we needed and then some! The owners meet us when we arrived and we had a nice visit with them. We loved everyhing! Nothing to dislike. Just wish we could have stayed longer!

The cottage had a calming feel to it. It was perfect and the hosts were welcoming. No complaints, everything was great.

• CookieLady (10/5): Best Place to stay in Laurel - I loved the whole place. The grounds were just as beautiful as the suite. Meeting Ramon and Jon was great. They were so helpful. My favorite part was being greeted by Miss Lady whenever I left the suite. Made me miss my pups a little bit less. Thank you Ramon, Jon & Miss Lady for sharing your beautiful home with me. I highly recommend especially to single female travelers it's so very safe. Nothing

Ramon and Lady greeted us upon our arrival and it was a pleasure to have met them. Lady was a big part of the welcoming process and we absolutely loved it. If you ever need a place to stay while passing through Laurel, Mississippi this is the place to stay!!! Nothing

The gardens Ramon.and John have created are absolutely beautiful and so inviting. Lady,the Lab is so friendly and welcoming as well. It was just an all around enjoyable stay.

• Rebecca (9/5): Quaint Stay Outside of Town - The porch was wonderful!! I loved all the plants that surrounded it and the property. Ramon was so very kind! The bed was comfortable too. I knew that there was only a tub and no shower, but that tub bath was divine! I know that this is a personal comment....but seeing pictures with skulls in them doesn't bring a sense of coziness or warmth or relaxation to me. But I'm sure to others it does bring positive feedback.
• Thomas (9/5): Excellent location to stay while checking out the town of Laurel. - Jon & Ramon were great hosts! The space was spacious, comfortable, and met our needs just fine. It is also nicely decorated with Jon’s art and other items. We appreciated the ability to bring our dog which was a significant reason we chose this location. We also didn’t know this, but this house was filmed on hometown. I enjoyed chatting with Ramon for a bit about the show and town. We really enjoyed the stay overall. The only real issue was arriving to find that the air conditioning had failed. Since it was on a weekend, there wasn’t much to be done about it. The hosts provided extra fans, which was appreciated. Fortunately the weather cooperated and we didn’t experience too much disruption.

Suite was exceptionally nice, mix of beautiful hardwood floors and artistic touches throughout the building. The bed was very comfortable, and it was great to have a porch to enjoy a cup of morning coffee.

• Allison (10/5): Staying at the Gingerbird Suite was like staying with loved ones you know really wanted you there! - Staying at the Gingerbird Art Suite was a true pleasure! There was more than enough space for two to comfortably move around without being on top of each other and the beautiful claw foot tub was pure luxury! The bed was soft, yet firm, making it feel like we were getting a warm hug each time we went to sleep. However, our favorite part of our stay by far, was getting to know our hosts Jon and Ramon, who went out of their way to make us feel more like family than strangers renting a space on their property! Nothing

• Christy (9/5): Skip the hotel and go for the comforts of home with the Gingerbird! - The Gingerbird is a gem! So peaceful and quiet. Beautiful porch and backyard. Very comfortable bed. So clean!! Would definitely stay again. We really liked the property. If I had to pick something it would be the shower. Would like a stand alone shower instead of a tub fitted with a shower head, but that’s more of a preference than a dislike.
• Nancy (9/5): Superb - The hosts were very friendly and showed us their gardens and greenhouse upon arrival. I enjoy gardening at home and loved seeing what they were growing. The cottage was very cute and quaint...old yet the renovation was well done. My spouse and I like to sleep in very cold spaces. The A/C ran and was cold when running, but during the night it would cut off and made the air circulation stagnant. There is a ceiling fan over the bed, which helped a little bit (although it was wobbly). Unfortunately we got warm; and A/C controls were not available in our 'suite'. I understand this, but undesirable for those that need it COLD at night. The other negative for us, is we like a firm mattress and the bed was softer with a mattress topper. For those that like fluffy soft bedding, this is perfect for you.

We enjoyed relaxing on the porch in the evening after a long drive. The yard is lovely. Everything felt well thought out so that the guests are comfortable, right down to providing bath salts for the wonderful claw foot tub! We could not think of anything to complain about here😊

Great place to relax and enjoy nature. Would have liked to have a shower but that’s just my preference. There was a beautiful claw foot cast iron tub which was nice.
• John (9/5): Lovely house to stay in - well suited for people visiting this town and good value. - Lovely garden and dog. Room was very nice with beautiful examples of the hosts art in every room. Easy comms and good hosts. Having to sit in the bath to shower wasn't ideal for one of us with dubious knees. Bathroom was very nice though and no other hassles.

• Thomas (9/5): Exceptional Southern Charm and Warm Hospitality - We stayed for two nights and truly enjoyed our time at Gingerbird Art Suite. The place is exactly as described—full of character, beautifully decorated, and very welcoming. The hosts, Jon and Ramon, made us feel right at home and were wonderful to chat with. The location is perfect, just a short drive to downtown Laurel. Everything was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged. While the bed was a little too soft for my personal preference, that’s just a matter of taste and didn’t take away from the overall great experience. We would definitely recommend this unique and cozy place to anyone visiting Laurel. Bed too soft for our personal preference.
• Elizabeth (10/5): Very homey and comfortable! - Such a cute spot! They thought of everything, great attention to detail for the traveler who likes a homey stay! Very safety and environmentally conscious, which we appreciate. Bed was beyond soft. And Lady the dog was so sweet and well-behaved, loved having her visit us outside! Thank you! Only thing we could think of was to add a recycling bin. We bring our recycling home with us, but nice to have a spot along the drop off.

My only complaint is the hand held shower in the claw foot tub. It was kind of hard to maneuver and not spray water outside of the tub.

• Laurie (9/5): Eclectic, comfortable space is close to downtown sites. - Hosts are attentive and very nice. Rooms are nicely appointed, and it’s fun to look at the artwork. The house is older and floors are a little wonky, possibly a challenge for someone with balance issues. Note that there is a lovely clawfoot tub but no shower curtain, so standing showers are not an option. Lady the dog is a plus in my book!

Of course, Lady the dog was a sweetheart. It is quite small so be prepared for that. It is a studio after all. The only indoor seating is at the kitchen table and one sitting chair in the bedroom. Seating on the porch made up for that since the weather was beautiful while we were there.
