- Craig (10/5): Nice place to stay - Location was just what we wanted with it being nextdoor to the gondola ride. All the staff including the cleaners that we met were quite young, very friendly and outgoing people. Rooms are very clean, comfortable and we could watch the gondola travelling up and down. We would stay here again if we are ever back in Queenstown You can no longer use the gate at the top of the grounds to get to the gondola which means the walk around can be more taxing on older visters.

- Pierre (3/5): Higher price, not better. - The bed sheets were clean The bathroom was freezing. Upon arrival, the room had not be heated. The bed was as cold as outside: 7C. Not enough parking. The showers are either 100% hot water or 100% cold. The mixing taps don’t work. No mixing taps for the bathroom sinks is a big inconvenient in the winter since the cold water is glacial. The staff was weirdly ackward as if they knew that what we were getting is bad quality. No care given to client satisfaction. Reactive maintenance: the work they do on the quality of this place seems to depend on the volume of complaints they get. Will not stay there again.

- Michael (8/5): Great value for money! - The front desk&hotel staff, which seemed to be international students on working holidays, were friendly and professional. The kitchen facilities/living room were a very nice place to eat your own meals if you didn't want to go a restaurant downtown. It had a fun summer camp kind of feel, with lots of young people staying but everyone seemed to respect the quiet times after 9 p.m. Although the accomodations are located a bit out of the city center, it's still pretty conveniently located for both the downtown restaurants&shops as well as especially close to the gondola to the mountain overlook on Queenstown (non-hotel related quibble: the gondola is more than a bit overpriced, even given economy of scale, but it is a beautiful view worth seeing). The mountain view from the room was beautiful! The room itself was spartan but the beds were soft&comfortable, which was good as my back had been hurting. It's very good value for the price, especially in a resort town like Queenstown! Recommended! It's just a bit inconveniently located, about a 10 minute walk from the downtown which meant that we couldn't access tour buses and airport shuttles directly from the hotel. It's a bit uphill as well, which could be tiring if you're coming off a long flight with luggage. Having the common shower on the same floor as the room was nice, but the shower stall was so narrow&close to other rooms that we felt like we might be disturbing other guests. Having the toilet on the first floor meant having to go down a creaky set of stairs to use it at night. These are all relatively minor quibbles. Overall it was a very pleasant place to stay.

Nice staff face to face but poor customer service. Had 2 parks with 3 bedroom guest house but reception gave them away to other guests after we checked in so other guests were parked outside our front door in our space and we had no parks at all. There was a sign in our room for room to be cleaned / serviced and on day 3 I called them at 9am to say we were going out and could room be cleaned. Returned at 2pm and no cleaning so called again and said would be there by 3. At 7pm I called again as we had no clean towels or tea towels and told cleaning staff had gone home at 3. The next day (day 4) no one serviced the room and we went out at 4.45pm for 2 hours and someone had provided towels and emptied our bin (finally), but no vacuuming or cleaning. After they accessed the property my father’s headphones were missing from his room, which he had not removed from room during his stay. we searched high and low (including under all beds and couches and went through all luggage) before calling reception. I thoroughly checked all spaces before checking out and we were rung later that day to say they were found under the bed where my father was staying - clearly 3 of us had checked there and moved the bed and they were 100% not there when we checked out. The room had grime and marks on the doors walls and door frames. I managed to wipe a lot of it off with baby wipes but as a guest it shouldn’t have been my job. Linen was however fresh and beds made nicely.

Toilet and shower room clean and the shared kitchen facilities very good (and clean). Parking is crowded as others have noted but not impossible by any means. Just to be aware of.
- Andrea (9/5): - The location was excellent, 5 mins walk into town. The lodge was tidy and beds and bunks were modern and reasonable size. Kitchen facilities were large and suitable for multiple groups to use with a large table and small lounge area, all open plan. Also a small garden. We were in Q one of the shared bathroom/kitchen areas and had a family locked bedroom. The bathroom only had two toilets which caused queues in the morning and they need better bins for sanitary products and nappies. Most of the place was reasonably clean but the shower rooms had built up hair and dust in the changing area and disposable towels rather than hand towels for six different rooms would be more hygenic. I saw the cleaners come through on two different days, very quick.

We were adjacent to the bathroom and were woken up a lot in the night due to hearing the water being turned on. We arrived at approx 4pm and the bathroom was a mess with no toilet paper in any of the stalls. We let reception know. When we returned hours later there was still no toilet paper. This was sorted before we went to bed but it was a bit of a shame. Why have 3pm check-in if the rooms are not ready for hours after?

- Joeline (7/5): Value for money at Queenstown prices. Walking distance to town. Take ear plugs and don’t assume you will get a car park - Location was walking distance to town centre. Bed was comfy. Room was a good size for my daughter & I. Had a radiator heater. (Backpacker room, shared facilities) Parking was difficult. First in first served everywhere- so just because your unit has a carpark doesn’t mean you get to use it. The noise echoes through the walls. Take ear plugs. The noisy guests next to our room who arrived after 9pm and thumped around with their gear and loud voices, calling out to each other down hallway - could hear everything
