Guest Reviews
- Dawn (10/5): Outstanding! - Exceptionally clean & comfortable accommodation in a breathtaking location!
Hosts were friendly and welcoming..
Would highly recommend Nothing! Could not fault our stay
- Sam (10/5): -
- stuart (1/5): Disgusting and run down - Nothing Absolutely nothing
- Cecilia (10/5): -
- Dresen (9/5): Superb - Great and very helpful landlords. Nice apartment with wonderful view.
- Kathryn (8/5): Very good -
- Peter (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (9/5): Great views, peaceful and comfortable with all the amenities needed for a short stay, and great Host - The location was excellent, could do with somewhere to eat a bit nearer, however as the name suggests, it is Peaceful with Great views. Internal stairs a bit awkward if you wanted a hot drink downstairs. But that is a minor thing, we managed ok with this.
- Kathryn (10/5): Peaceful and stunning waterside location - Not applicable
- Marie (9/5): Superb - Beautiful location with stunning views. Spiral staircase. But not an issue as there was outdoor steps too.
- Robert (8/5): Peaceful base for stunning walks in the area - As the description says, it was a peaceful and stunning waterside location. Note that its a good walk or a small car ride to get to any pub, restaurant or shop. Its a good base to do lots of walking in the area that is blessed with beautiful scenery. The spiral staircase from the bedroom and kitchen upstairs to the large living room downstairs are a bit tight and probably not suitable for people with mobility issues.
- Sharon (9/5): Perfect for my needs, a quiet, peaceful couple of days. - Loved the location on Loch long. Loved the quirky property. Very friendly, welcoming hosts. A shower would have been ideal. The shower on the bath without a screen or shower curtain wasn't practical.
- Scott (8/5): Lovely wee 1 bedroom property that allows dogs and perfect for self catering breaks. Very peacefull - Great wee property. Upstairs entry with bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette on entry floor and lounge downstairs. Basic bedroom (no tv), bathroom with bath, well kitted out wee kitchenette, full electric cooker, wee dining area, very steep spiral staircase which may not be suitable for all but there is access to downstairs via outside. Large lounge with wee TV and a large window with a stunning view! Heating is by plug in heaters only which heats upstairs quickly but not downstairs, plenty of blankets provided. Hot water is from tank and will run out if a bath is run. Landlord is lovely. Area is quiet and peaceful
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sutheera (10/5): Exceptional - Got everything we need, even treats for our dog! Bedroom and kitchen were nice warm and cozy. Living room can be a bit chilly with the heat on but they do provide blankets and with the lighting it can be a cozy night in. Our dogs couldn't get up the spiral stairs but it's not a major issue. We just took him out around the outbuilding, thought I should point this out incase someone is staying with medium/large dog (ours is 22kg.)
- Sally (7/5): Lovely place to visit in the summer. - Location was excellent, the property although we didn’t cook as we only stayed two nights seemed to have everything you would have needed. Clean and tidy and views were lovely. The heating. They only had two small portable storage heaters one in the bedroom and one down stairs in the sitting room which have to be turned on and off manually. We visited middle of November as the weather was getting very cold and damp. Entering the property we felt how cold it was and had to keep our coats on for well over an hour as although we turned on the portable heaters straight away it took nearly two hours to start feeling their benefits of offering heat. By the time we had warmth we were going out and for safety we turned them off, so when we came back about 9pm the rooms had gone very cold again and because it takes so long to heat the place and we were worried about falling asleep with them on we didn’t bother using them and went to bed cold and felt very cold throughout the night and slept badly. We woke up cold and again because we were going out for the day and because it takes so long to heat the place it seemed pointless putting them on as it would be just getting warm when we would be leaving. They need to have some kind of heating that can be put on timers. If you came over the summer months non of this would be an issue but if like us and you visit in colder months then it becomes and issue. Also because of the lack of heating warmer bedding is needed as we had to sleep with jumpers on the second night in order to keep warm.
- Lawless (8/5): Very good - Owners were very understanding N/A
- Katarzyna (10/5): Relaxing, quiet and beautiful location. - I had a great stay at the North Lodge and felt like home. I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy the beautiful area. I will definitely consider the North Lodge for future trips, hopefully next time it will be for holidays.
I met Yvonne when I arrived (I received all the necessary details and travel directions beforehand) and she was a lovely and welcoming host. The rooms were beautifully clean, I even had biscuits, fruit and milk for the tea provided by the host.
I definitely recommend this place, especially if you are going on holidays and are looking for a quiet place that feels like home.
- Grace (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bardie (9/5): Superb - Helpful and friendly hosts. Turned out we had lots of interests in common. Very comfortable accomodation and beautiful lochside location. Dog found the spiral staircase rather challenging!!
- Janet (9/5): Superb - Lovely peaceful place to stay with great views.
A complete apartment with everything you need.
The nearest eating place is 4 miles away and very good.
- Lindsey (10/5): Short stay -
- Jeffrey (9/5): Excellent peaceful location with lively hosts. - The location is great, stunning and peaceful loch which was a real pleasure and far less commercialised than other lochs. Hosts were really friendly and welcoming.
- Chloe (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annabel (10/5): Great location, lovely apartment, would happily go back - Mike & Yvonne were perfect hosts, very friendly & helpful
- Carol (9/5): Superb -
- Nicola (10/5): Exceptional -
- Simon (10/5): Perfect stop over en-route to Mull - Comfortable well appointed property overlooking Loch Long
- Julie (10/5): Absolutely perfect ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ - Fantastic views , very comfortable, clean , beautiful view from living room and bedroom of the loch ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
- Caroline (9/5): Lovely quaint cottage, peaceful and friendly - Lovely characterful cottage with beautiful view across the Loch. Really friendly hosts. Right next to a lovely stoney beach. Loved reading some of the leaflets about the history of the area. The table in the kitchen is very cramped and the kitchen quite dark to eat in. We ended up taking meals down to the living room, which is lovely and light and has a view. There is room there to put another small table. The tiny spiral stair down from the kitchen is a bit of a challenge, especially if carrying food, but we just used the outside stair and ate at the coffee table.
- Sylvia (10/5): Welcoming hosts, very comfortable bed and beautiful location. -
- Mike (9/5): Superb -
- Robert (9/5): Superb -
- Lee (8/5): A warm and comfortable stay in a great location - A beautiful location, sadly I was working and didn't get the chance to experience it as much as I would have liked. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, responding quickly to any issues I raised. This included staying on the phone with me as I found my way to the property. They have made great use of a fairly limited space although the internal spiral staircase is pretty tight if you want to carry anything down from the bedroom or kitchen It was a bit tricky to find, the host did send a hand drawn map but unfortunately I wasn't able to print off a good enough quality image for it to be as useful as it could have been. Maybe producing a clearer image would be helpful.
- Kellyanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Devi (10/5): Exceptional - We stayed at Yvonne and Micks Guest house on Saturday November 11th, a little difficult to find but once we found the concealed entrance our visit was a joy- Yvonne and Mick had left provisions for us and even turned the heating on in advance - the house was an eclectic mix of everything and the views were spectacular from both the bedroom and the lounge- Peaceful, tranquil and restful - a thoroughly enjoyable stay with a very good nights sleep- all in all a very enjoyable experience. Neil & Devi
- Pat_c (4/5): I said to the to the hosts I would love to return - and would subject to the problems being sorted - A venue that provides all that is required for a nice stay.
Superb views of nearby Loch Long and sunset, through the neighbour's garden. A very friendly and comprehensive intro brief was interpreted by the wife, requesting payment there and then!
Tea, coffee and sugar were available, as were bananas and biscuits. However, house rules request the replacement of anything you finish. Rules also requested that beds be stripped on leaving and work surfaces cleaned.
My sleep was interrupted by the interminant flashing of a bright faulty smoke detector light (also reported by a previous guest). So much so, that I never stopped for my second night (a big thank you to booking.com customer team).
No Internet and a poor mobile phone signal. A problem in this modern age that could be overcome by just being given the nearby router code.
