Guest Reviews
- Andrew (8/5): Expensive for what it is. But charming none the less - The location is great! Lovely & quiet. Beautiful views of the countryside. My dog loved being able to wander free, in the large enclosed field The cabin is tiny! Really small. Tried to get breakfast at the pub in the morning but no staff available. Not even a coffee
- Wolf P. (6/5): -
- Grocott (8/5): Great location for the Coppleridge Inn - The cabin is lovely, perfect positioning for a wedding at the Inn next door. Lovely views and a compact hut, all we needed. Firstly a suggestion, although nothing can be done about the weather, a fan in the hut would have brought the temp down slightly.
Communication, I messaged three times in the lead up to the stay and had zero communication back from the owners.
- Jack Jordan (10/5): -
- Kathryn (7/5): - Clever use of a small space
Peaceful
Near Shaftesbury No ceiling or wall light in bedroom area
Induction hob very slow 15 minutes to boil a kettle
- Stephen (10/5): - Cosy, beautiful setting, nice and warm, great for a one-night stay after a wedding at the inn nearby. Thank you so much for going the extra mile when my brother left his tablet behind and posting it back to us - communication was great.
- De Beer (10/5): -
- Tina (9/5): -
- Edward (10/5): Was good location and already planning on coming again - Loved the location, the cabin was stunning, easy to use and clean, kids loved toasting marshmallows over the fire I didn’t like that we were there for only two night, needed longer
- Lauren (10/5): relaxing - very clean, absolutely beautiful scenery nothing it was perfect
- Jedrusik (10/5): -
- Valerie (9/5): -
- Rebecca (6/5): Good value for money would only stay again with max of 2 people - It was cheap and perfect for what we needed, Got there in the dark, there was no lighting and no obvious signage showing where the lodges were. We got there fair late at night, couldn’t work the job but the owner did come and show us. We had also booked a twin room and the sofa bed as old brother and sister were together. Everything was set up for double bed and the sofa bed only had one double duvet so our old r children had a good fall out before deciding sharing was their only option. We had gone for a funeral the next day and it was just a little bit stressful on arrival
- Jenny (10/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Ella (10/5): Lovely stay with an amazing host - The host was very welcoming and attentive. Everything was just as advertised and as the pictures
- Niek Vleugels (7/5): - De omgeving Het bed
- simon (8/5): Lovely stay in a beautiful spot - Location
Bed and shower
Out door fire pit Needs a hook on the door it’s large and very heavy and swings a lot in the wind, which is a bit dangerous.
Light broken in bedroom.
- Matt (9/5): -
- Adriana (10/5): Highly recommended - Fantastic place, would recommend for couples more than families, but little people can have a good sleep there too! Firepit outside ready for guests, fantastic! N/a

- Jonathan (10/5): Peaceful - Fabulous spot for the dogs who jus5 ran and ran around the field. Great food in the pub next door, very dark and very quiet. Front door is very stiff, and couldn’t get the hob to work. I couldn’t find any instructions for it
- Robert (7/5): Stay on 4 th August - Location, basic cabin design looked good but could do with improvement. Great view and sheep in the field, lovely rural location. Should have a sliding door between lounge area and kitchen, if you have children sleeping in the pull out bed this makes sleeping difficult. No names on the cabins so you don't actually know which one you have been allocated! Only one pillow per person. No logs for the fire pit. Basic maintenance lacking: privacy screens between cabins have collapsed, outdoor furniture was wet so couldn't use and no outdoor table. Front door had dropped on its hinges so had to be lifted by handle to open/close. Hob difficult to use. No small oven/grill. Biggest issue - no cross ventilation because no side or rear opening windows/vents so was really hot when we arrived and difficult to cool down - dread to think what this would be like on a hot summer's day.
- Samir (10/5): Relaxing break. It was a short family holiday away from busy life. - The location and the silence around the property The insects and hornets trying to enter the property, as it was summer time
- Alastair (10/5): Exceptional - A lovely little cabin with great views over the countryside :)
- Eleanor (10/5): Adorable stay! - Beautiful location and exactly what we wanted for a night's stay. Comfortable, quaint and quiet! The staff communicated well when we called with questions and collecting our key was easy and hassle free. The cabins should be labelled. They have names but there was no signage to show which was which!
- Matthew (1/5): Terrible - The location but nothing else Where to start…. The directions where terrible.
The door was broken and very hard to open and close.
Not set up for couples.
Incredibly hot!!! Like insane! No fan and no air conditioning.
Only one chair outside.
- Liza (9/5): Fab little offgrid stay - Lovely little stay for a night, 3 rather inquisitive sheep, and a fab local restaurant for dinner onsite! Great hot shower, ample facilities, even a couple of board games, and the bed was comfortable and an easy sleep. Seems the weather/previous users had broken the outdoor furniture so we weren’t able to sit outside in the evening in comfort.
- Nisha (6/5): Pleasant -
- Thomas (8/5): Very good -
- Laura (1/5): Disappointed - We had a stay booked here, a night to enjoy an escape from city life with the plan to continue on for a week on the coast. At 9pm the night before the host cancelled us, I wholeheartedly understand the reason: no electric and they hadn’t managed to fix it. The review doesn’t reflect that they had no power. It’s that we then had to wait 3 days for the cancellation to come through and await the process of the refund.m around the timing of being cancelled. Given it was such late notice, there was no point of offer for a reflection of how this had impacted our weekend plan. The owner offered us a pub room, but this was far removed from the country/escape we had in mind with our dog. A really disappointing incident and we feel it wasn’t a consideration or concern of the impact this had on our travel plans. Being so last minute, we weren’t able to find an equal replacement in both location and price.
- Faye (7/5): I liked it overall. - Lovely little place. Nice view of the sheep. Nice inside and great that there were games and books. I think it’s best for just a short stay there due to not having much room.
- Daniel (4/5): Not so ‘Beautiful Cabins’ - The setting We couldn’t get in at first because we thought the key code given was wrong but it turns out someone had taken our cabin so we were left with the other one - there was no signage and no welcome so this could have prevented such an error. This wouldn’t matter so much but then we had a call to say why hadn’t we checked out on time (we had) when the people in ‘our’ cabin hadn’t checked out. A poor customer experience.
We were unable to eat in the pub - for dinner - because of a wedding which was not made clear to us at the time of booking. The nice looking pub was our main reason for booking so this was disappointing.
Facilities wise - No working lights in the bedroom, no coffee maker, the hob was very difficult to work and unresponsive, no personal or proactive communication from the host.
Finally, our view is that this place is not particularly dog ‘friendly’ as the sheep outside prevent us having our dog off lead which would be a nice touch with the lovely field right outisde. This place could be very good but is falling short on some basics and poor to non existent communication and poor facilities.
- Debbie (9/5): Lovely peaceful cabin stay. - Lovely, peaceful location. There is plenty of parking on arrival. Easy gain access to key and cabin. Clean with plenty of extra bed linen and towels. A welcome bottle of milk in the fridge along with tea, coffee, and biscuits for that first cuppa on arrival after a long journey. Compact, cosy but very comfortable for our couple of nights stay. Good shower, basic cooking facilities, good Internet, games to play, and a nice terrace to sit outside. The sheep and lambs were a bonus and fun to watch. Good value. I would highly recommend it. There was no welcome pack giving some basic info about the cabin. Would have been useful and saved time with regards to working the hob and heating. This is a suggestion rather than a dislike.
- Oliver (3/5): Poor - Location Too hot, no way of cooling it down, unresponsive hosts
- Dan (8/5): Very good -
- Katy (6/5): Great idea but poor communication - Well thought out accommodation, compact but comfortable. It was very clean and welcomed with milk, cookies and bottled water. Bedroom lights not working, we were warned in advance and told as it’s a bank holiday weekend - an electrician couldn’t be found. Understandable.
BUT I didn’t complain, and asked politely for a lamp. No reply and no lamp. Made the evenings very difficult.
- Lorraine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jenny (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (8/5): It was lovely for a quick get away and some much needed quality time. - The cabin was set in a beautiful location with stunning views. Close enough to a pub that it was convenient but far away enough that you didn’t hear any noise. The bed was very uncomfortable and hard, we had no hot water - however, the host did provide us with a refund due to that fact.
- Laurence (1/5): Terribly managed, non caring but the view was sick - The view ⭐ 1/5 – Treated Unfairly, Avoid This Place
We had an incredibly disappointing stay at The cabins and were treated unfairly throughout. From start to finish, the experience was terrible, and to make things worse, our text messages were ignored, even the next day. The manager of Outdoor Inns didn’t even ask if we were okay after everything that happened.
• Check-in was a nightmare – We arrived at 5 PM (check-in was at 4 -9PM) but couldn’t get into the cabin. We had to call and wait 45 minutes just to get a response, and we weren’t given access to another cabin until 6 PM.
• The original cabin was filthy – The bed wasn’t made, it was dirty, and there was lumpy, spoiled milk left on the side. We were then told to take another cabin instead—lucky it wasn’t booked, or we would have been stranded after driving four hours.
• No hot water in either cabin – When we reported this, we were told a plumber couldn’t come out. Instead, I (a plumber myself) was asked to try and fix it—on my rare weekend away with my partner at 6 PM on a Saturday night! Completely unacceptable.
• False advertising – There was no coffee machine or any of the amenities advertised, and no shampoo or body wash provided.
• Basic kitchenware unusable – The pans didn’t work on the induction hob, and the cutlery and cups were dirty.
• Maintenance issues ignored – The bedroom lights didn’t work, an issue that had already been reported in a review back in January. Clearly, nothing had been done to fix it.
• Zero customer care – We weren’t even asked how we were after all the problems we faced. Our messages were ignored, even the next day, and the manager of Outdoor Inns didn’t check in with us at all. Instead of the full refund we were promised, we have now only been offered a partial refund.
The only saving grace was the pub next door. The owner and bar manager looked after us, offering drinks and food to try and salvage what was left of our stay.
- Tavis (10/5): Great views, location and facilities - Lovely secluded cabin
- Eileen (1/5): Miserable Let in Beautiful Countryside. - Nothing No exterior lights to help guide you around the trip hazards, broken fences and rotten furniture dumped outside. Dangerously slippery steps, no handrail. Inside like a cold shed that’s hazardously crammed with obstacles. Bedroom lights not working. Pub shut, no food.
- Merlin (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (7/5): It had its pros and cons. - Food was lovely, cabin was very clean and fitted out nicely. The lack of heating, even though we turned the thermostat to full the heating was not effective. The lack of lighting when walking up to the property, had to use my phone torch. No handrail for going up front steps, very difficult for me, felt unsteady.
- Amanda (9/5): a lovely clean cabin in a beautiful location, value for money -
- Victor (1/5): Not recommended by us as the photos are misleading. - Nothing. Its a shed with naff hob that heats a half full kettle in 15 minutes.Distinct lack of space , needs a TV. It was full of flies when we arrived. Duff stovetop, see above,. What accommodation in this day has not got a tv.The bed has very limited access getting round the bed especially with disabilities . The bathroom has a tiny sink. The front door has dropped so has to be lifted to close and the door key was hit and miss and needs maintenance ie oil.
- Kenneth (9/5): Superb -
- Natasha (7/5): It was a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting, just such a shame it got so crazy hot. - The property got up to over 33 degrees centigrade, which really caught us off guard and we had a whole block of butter melt all over the counter, this then spread to one of your poor duvet covers when we tried to clear the counter. It was difficult keeping it cool because we didn't want to let in the crane flies. With 2 kids running around the place on rainy days the heat of the place was just unmanageable so we had to go out and return late in the evening to manage it. The design needs some ventilation that's bug proof. Would have given it 10/10 otherwise.
- Suzette (10/5): Cozy, clean and good value for money - The cabin was in a beautiful location, lovely and quiet and perfect for our dogs. The cabin was clean and comfortable
- Dorothy (10/5): perfect thank you I have found this place . - Everything , place , cabin is immaculate clean . There is everything you need . Restaurant is just next door . Amazing foods . Nothing
- Daniel (10/5): Perfect, just what I needed to get away from all the stresses of life - Quiet comfortable and surrounded by nature plus a lovely pub restaurant 50 yards away for excellent food. N/a
- Eirian (8/5): Peaceful! - The tranquility of the location but with a pub next door! Really hard to find reliable taxis
- Craig (7/5): Good - Lovely setting view and very relaxing, nice chance from a hotel room, and nice to have a fire Could not get the hob to work to make a hot drink! And found internet very slow.
- Lauren (9/5): Beautiful, secluded stay in a stylish, charming, yet simple property- the best part is the tranquil field for amazing st - Beautiful and thoughtful design, compact but well utilised space Quite hot inside, a fan would be a good addition.
- Paul (6/5): Quite enjoyable. - Pleasant location with good view. Quiet Solar panels spoilt the view.
No logs for the fire
Bedding was not up to date.
The pub next door could have been a lot better. Slow service, poor food. Closed Sunday lunchtime
