- Lea (1/5): - I found the staff very rude up on arrival. i was told that I couldn't stay in their hotel. I had to leave Rude staff
- Hina (5/5): - Location No wifi or internet
- Heidi (7/5): Very comfortable friendly apart from the above recommend yes if thy tidy up outside first appearance is a must - Friendly staff clean in room Owners kids playing football in the reception /. Shoes by reception 🙄Empty glasses rubbish outside no care outside at all
- Magda (3/5): Barely maintained hotel with serious cleanliness and safety issues - Nothing except the beachfront location, easily accessible around the town. We visited Llandudno and booked for two nights at the Iris Hotel. Even with free breakfast, I would not suggest anyone stay there. On the first night, the room had stains on the mattress, a broken side lamp, a damaged TV and broken tiles in the bathroom with a leaking shower. After repeated requests, we got another room, which was mouldy and barely maintained. During breakfast, it took more than 40 minutes to get our order, our table was broken and the staff was of no help. Several people next to us left without even being served. We asked for an iron on arrival and only received it just before our departure, despite asking repeatedly. The staff was polite but clueless, as there was no communication between shifts causing repeating our requests every day to different members of staff.
- Webb (7/5): -
- Wayne (9/5): -
- Wafa (1/5): I didn’t stay so as reach the reception woman was rude and they gave me room in the ground floor lie - Everything
- Jean (8/5): Overall, great location great view - Location was perfect, amazing view of the ocean from my room. Street parking is free after four pm until 10 AM. There are two grocery stores nearby. You’re within walking distance of a lot of stuff. Breakfast is included. The reason overall I scored them less was because I declined service the first night and you know reused the towels. I left them in the tub and when I came back, they had just hung them up over the shower without leaving fresh towels, so I had to go downstairs and get them. And I found some of the staff while they were absolutely polite, they were rude if you understand.
- Mengdi (7/5): -
- Pepito (6/5): Fair - The location is good overlooking to the sea and the parking is good after 4pm until 10 am The chair in the dining hall it needs to be clean and replaced, that's my honest opinion, children are playing football in the reception area:)
- Marcin (5/5): -
- Murat Ali (2/5): Günlük replacement yapılmadı şampuan çay vb - Konumu süper Temizlikte odaki çöpleri almadılar
- David (3/5): - Location brilliant Dirty building site! Dirty carpets, anex rooms very poor, windows held together with brakets, smelly (drugs) poor mattresses, food still in bar area in morning from day before,
- Delphine (5/5): - Room was neat and clean
Good service It's definitely not the breakfast we expected.
A lot many of us seated there
Didn't like the bread and toast for breakfast.
Everyone expected a good english breakfast
- Tim (10/5): -
- Wilaiporn (6/5): Great location -
- Evans (7/5): -
- steve (5/5): -
- Wayne UK (8/5): -
- Saad (7/5): - The location was great and very near to all attractions The breakfast service was very slow, we get ours in 30-40 minutes on both days.
- Roberts (3/5): Would not stay again - Close to town Breakfast we were egnored even after placing a order we had to ask the table not set up then when they said sit there no cuttlery then brought tea no jug of milk
- Paul (4/5): - Location Holes in room wall, toilet not square to wall, breakfast was cold.
- DANA GABRIELA (7/5): - Priveliștea și patul. Mic dejunul de proastă calitate. Curățenia in cameră lasă de dorit.
- Donna (4/5): Great location but lots of maintenance needed. - Location was perfect.
Bed was very comfortable. There is no WiFi in the rooms and even in reception it's poor. The door handles were falling off. The shower door was hanging off and there was a sign saying not to close it so I had to shower with it open.
I was asked to fill in a form for breakfast and I stated I do not eat eggs. The first morning I had toast and jam. The second morning I had the same but after eating it the waiter told me I could have beans on toast as I didn't eat eggs. I'd already eaten so I said I'd probably have it the following morning. On my third morning I asked for beans on toast and the same waiter from the previous day told me it wasn't an option?!
There was also scaffolding all around the hotel including outside a fire exit which concerned me as there were no signs pointing out an alternative exit.
On my final night it was extremely loud as people were shouting and banging doors.
- Dave (8/5): Great location - Location Communication was not clear. They could not take payment through Booking.com and wanted payment over the phone before.
- Sarah (1/5): Great location, shame about the lack of care - Room was very spacious Outside of building very dated and unkept
Reception area was scattered with Children's shoes and rubbish, receptionist rude didn't even look up from her phone when we asked her a question and gave yes/no answers only
Bar area was dirty with food plates and rubbish all over the floors and tables dirty table clothes, overall univiting.
Bedrooms where very dated, with chipped draws and curtains not attached properly, but beds clean and well made
Restaurant was dirty, chairs broken, cheap food and coffee on offer, toaster broken so took too long to toast.
Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't stay again but for £60 with the location was ok for the night.
- Manjusha (6/5): -
- Louise (10/5): - Ideal location. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast 😋 😍 Nothing not to like
- Gareth (6/5): Iris annexe - Room was nice and cosy but no WiFi and could do with more hot breakfast food Lack of WiFi
- Castillo (10/5): Everything was fine. - Good price, good location close to everything, friendly and helpful staff, everything was clean, I recommend it 100%, thank you.
- Brown (7/5): Good for short stay - Staff were friendly and professional. Breakfast was excellent. Great location. Ideal for short stay. Bit untidy. Annexe a bit basic. Room small but we knew that.
- Owen (1/5): - Nothing Everything , mold on all walls in room
- Christine (8/5): -
- margaret (10/5): -
- Lisa (5/5): - Bed was comfy Tv didn't work, room small
- Rohini (7/5): Overall a good experience experience 7/10 for me. - It’s in a great location next to beach and main shopping area/town centre with great transport links nearby.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great staff. Breakfast tables were a bit dirty and hot food service (time to receive it) were not the best…but all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Internet access is pretty terrible , but that is more of a location thing than anything to do with the hotel.
- Kirsty (1/5): - Nothing very dated
Not clean
And had to stay in the Amex Not clean
Staff not help full
Anex was dirty
Very uncomfortable
Couldn’t watch telly
- Peter H26 (10/5): -
- Joanne (3/5): Dont go the iris hotel - The only thing that was liked, was the location of the hotel its self Everything..... disabled guest up a concrete flight of stairs outside in back yard. Toilet moved and leaked from underneath, mattress two big dips in it so very uncomfortable, TV kept going off no WiFi curtains stained and dirty. waited 45 mins for poached eggs for breakfast, no bowls no bread dirty spoon not good at all.
- Dinesh (9/5): Okay to stay - Stay is okay and good Staff not available
- Don (1/5): Don't stay at the Iris. - Location was fine, nothing else to like. Cleanliness of reception not very good. Given an attic room, the bathroom had a drain in the centre, when toilet flushed, foul smelling water came up out of the drain. Given another loft room, cracked window meant draught came in all night. Two single beds pushed together, mattress cover didn't even cover them, and a single sheet was on the mattress cover, not anywhere near covering it. Bad nights sleep. Poor continental breakfast with only warm coffee. Booked for 3 nights, left after 1. Will not stay at the Iris again.
- Aditi (3/5): Only book as last option or if you don’t want to spend much money and sleep for a night - On the main road, good location. The drainage was blocked. The TV was not working. It was a bank holiday - the information leaflet in the rooms said breakfast on bank holidays will be 9am-11am but when I went down at 10:10 I was told it is closed.
- Dwyer (3/5): -
- Krzysztof (2/5): Absolutely shocking, how they are still open for business is unbelievable - Excellent location and cheap room but that's all. Room was dirty, shower / bathroom had a black mould everywhere, toilet was loose. We had disgusting dirty stained blanket on the bed. Bedding was stained and with spots of mould. Room must have been freshly painted as smell was very strong, we had to keep windows open all night. Staff was not interested in our issue, we were suggested to move out. Funny enough when we complained there was already another guest there complaining about same stuff! Broken furniture outside our stay, general rubbish, dirt etc. Definitely not worth even the low price and for sure will never stay there. Not recommended, avoid like a plague. Improve your cleaning standards, hire more professional staff
- Sven (3/5): Location good but hotel was dirty - Location was good The room was very dirty and had mould in places walls were covered in dirt and stains
- David (8/5): Relaxing comfortable and well enjoyed would return. - Its in a fantastic location right on beach front and gorgeous views out of window. Couldnt be any better for its location. Nothing to say really was,a bank holiday weekend and couldnt park near by but not hotels fault.
- Nineth sasidu livera (7/5): -
- Nyatsine (7/5): - The place, room and welcoming stuff. No wi-fi in rooms , poor quality television.
- Mohammed (3/5): We hardly had any sleep and don’t like to see anyone else experiencing the same - 1) The location was good
2) Breakfast was also good 1) Mold around the edges of the shower panels
2) Shower door handle broken. Got stuck and my wife had to help open the door
3) Rusty rack for toiletteries
4) Metal springs digging into the body
5) Mattress stained
6) Carpet worn and dirty
7) Glass panel on the window cracked from top to bottom
- Grace (7/5): Fair for price - Good room and lovely location. No WiFi in rooms. Bath was so small
- paul (7/5): - Good access to promenade and town centre A bit tired, could do with a little tlc
- deanna (3/5): Cant really say value for money - Staff were friendly enough location was perfect for Seafront There is no need to have a headboard with peeling fabric and a shower that floods the bathroom due to having a door that doesn't close
- Prinsiben (1/5): -
- Elizabeth (5/5): Disappointed - Good breakfast Room was probably the worst I the hotel shower blocked and door unable to close room small and dark scaffolding outside bedroom window overlooking back streets heating was on even though it was a very warm weekend and window unable to open so no fresh air meaning it was too hot to sleep very small TV which didn't work properly wires were loose
- Claire (6/5): Perfect budget stay - All interactions with staff were lovely, continental breakfast excellent- eggs cooked to order and everything else buffet style. Perfect location, everything within a few minutes walking distance. Excellent value for money will definitely return if in the area again Shower pressure and temp weren't the best, but that's just us being picky
- Carol (8/5): We enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff. - The breakfast was OK. The staff very friendly and helpful. The only thing that we had trouble with and needs sorting was the shower. The cubicle door was extremely difficult to shut and if you did shut it, it was extremely difficult to open again. My husband struggled to open it. It also leaked.
- John (8/5): -
- Stephen (9/5): Pleasant, clean and friendly staff - Location to the station and the cleanliness of the place and the pleasant and helpful staff The heating and the basic menu.
- Bradbury (8/5): -
- Shobhit (5/5): Not so good experience. - Location, View, Breakfast. Room was below average. Bathrooms are not so good, barely hot water in shower. The window glass pane was cracked.
- Holley (4/5): -
- carol (9/5): Great location - Lovely room
- Pickin (10/5): -
- Anton (1/5): - Very dirty and poor
- Lindsey (6/5): - Location
Clean
Nice staff Small room
Not comfy
- Richard (3/5): Terrible - Location The bed was very uncomfortable. the lighting was terrible( mostly not working) curtains didn't close, Shower dripped constantly
- Brian (7/5): - Ok Ok
- eatly (9/5): -
- Královič (9/5): -
- Kirsty (5/5): - Location Staff were unwelcoming, rooms outdated and noisy
- Abigail (4/5): Fine to rest you head for a night, but no holiday destination. - The staff at breakfast were lovely, attentive and friendly. The bed was comfy. I don't think you can list breakfast as 'continental' you can order cooked eggs but otherwise it is cereal or toast. We had to walk past huge piles of rubbish (that had been ripped open by seagulls) on the way from the annex building to the main building. Annex door left open all day and night... a few metres from the rubbish piles. Broken and ill placed shower. Single glazing windows.
- John (5/5): -
- Jane (10/5): Pleasantly surprised - Pleasantly surprised to be honest. Great room, comfy bed, bath in the bathroom. Well decorated & clean Could have done with a few extra choices in the continental breakfast like croissants, pastry's etc, maybe some wet fruit for the cereals or yogurts like grapefruit or berries
- Elaine (3/5): Housekeeping. - It was near everything x Rooms were not cleaned right the skirting boards were so dirty and walls could be washed down also curtains had holes in them terrible? The wardrobe door would not open because off bedroom door this needs looked at ..also no heat in in rooms was very cold they had small heaters that were not pat tested and are plug got so warm we had to use a towel to get it out .so bed .There was a noise from lift out side are bedroom .
- Kelly (6/5): Ok.... - Large Seaview room, Large shower, decent bed. Entrance to hotel needs tidying up & good hoover. Slanted ceiling on 4th floor so the curtains rest about 2ft away from the window. Pointless putting them up, room needed a blind. Continental breakfast ok very basic, no pastries, all condiments asda smart price. Toaster took forever and only half the toaster working.
- RACHEL (8/5): Lovely central reasonably priced hotel - Very central to theatre and wetherspoons!! Did not arrive back till past midnight.
Went to the toilet-and no loo paper. Luckily I had tissues with me!!
- yvonne (1/5): -
- Aimee (8/5): -
- John (8/5): Lovely view and great staff - Breakfast first class location excellentb
- Anjana (8/5): -
- yvonne (1/5): Disappointed stay - Location was ok but nothing else
We had stayed here in 2015 and we had a good stay
But I think it has changed owners The bathroom was disgusting with a large amount of faeces on the outside if the toilet bowl
The room was cold there was an electric heater
We were told we couldn’t take hot food to the room as the smell could upset other guests but the was a very strong smell of cigarette smoke in the corridors which was very unpleasant
We booked for two nights arriving at 7.25 pm and we went straight out for a gig when we got back to room after eating our food in reception and noticed the bathroom we didn’t want to stay here
There was no one on reception at night I did message the hotel when we left at 1am but they have still not replied to me 3 days later, very disappointed
- Jennifer (7/5): - Had a marvellous seaview and could hear the sea.. Key to get into the premises after 10pm as I was at Venue Cymru 'til 11pm. Complimentary breakfast surpassed my expectations. Bed was comfortable, shower hot and staff polite. Sadly on arrival I was not informed there was a kettle, glasses and a heater in a cupboard in the room- tbh can't I recall a wardrobe. Was staying for a brief stopover so I managed but these items would have been truly beneficial- next I shall root around in my room!
- Eirian (1/5): Wouldn't recommend it to anyone - Room disgraceful, room smelt disgusting. wallpaper peeling off wall , wardrobe door broken, floorboards felt soft as if you were going to fall through it. Bathroom was dingy and loose tiles on the floor.
Bed was very uncomfortable with stains on pillowcase had to put my own tee-shirt over it to lie on. The mattress was lumpy and had stains on it.
Large bins outside overflowing and smelt terribly.
Wouldn't ever go there again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone
- Emelie (10/5): Great for the price! - Great price! Could have been a little cleaner
- Heywood (7/5): Comfortable nice, area, - Bed very comfortable and clean Staff not standing there at breakfast watching us
- Jo (8/5): Lovely stay - Clean comfortable and close to all amenities and on sea front Clean and tidy
- Nishant (7/5): -
- Stuart (10/5): Beautiful place and excellent staff - The location and the staff The cleaning the mattress
- anonymous (9/5): - Great location close to beach, pier and town centre. Nice large ground floor room. Good breakfast Room was not cleaned during 3 day stay. Shower screen not big enough to stop water going all over the floor.
- Jacqueline (1/5): -
- Julie (4/5): -
- Vipin (5/5): - There was no free WiFi in the room.
- Stella (7/5): Very good budget hotel. Lovely staff. Lack of WiFi could be a problem if you don’t have your own good data. - Location. Staff. Breakfast. No WiFi in bedroom. Was cold at night. Apparently there was a heater in the cupboard that I didn’t know about
- Antony (5/5): - The location The breakfast just eggs porridge and cereal
- Geoff (7/5): Very good. - I had a warm welcome at Reception, the restaurant staff at breakfast were extremely good, and ensured my specific dietary needs were met.
Given the location, given current prices, I was offered excellent value, and if offered again, would certainly contemplate driving over 100 miles from Stafford in the Midlands again !
The shower for my room was excellent, and most welcome following a long walk.
I will recommend The Iris Hotel to friends and associates. Can’t think of anything, as on this occasion, the hotel offered everything required.
- mark (8/5): Good - Location was very good We had to leave early family problems
- Sue (1/5): Never stayed very damp and tried to cover it with air fresheners - Nothing damp Damp my husband is on oxygen awaiting a double lung transplant room was very damp he went into a full coughing fit when approached staff for help they weren’t helpful at all
