Guest Reviews
- Becky (10/5): Perfect Hill Country Stay - Of the scores of places we have stayed in Sri Lanka over a decade of visits, this property is the best. Guests are fully informed about the visit before arriving and during transit. The bungalow is fully equipt with everything you need from pots to dishes, from salt to quality linens. The staff are professional and friendly. Located on the Pekoe Trail there are many options for hikes. You can even see Sri Pada in the distance Stay was TOO short
- Karral (10/5): - Beautiful setting near the end of Stage 3 of the People Trail. Fully equipped 2 bedroom house.
Very friendly, helpful owner, good pre-stay communication.
Wonderful views.
Good value.
- Veer.s (1/5): My bad experience. - Although it's very convenient if you're doing the pekoe trail. The caretaker Kumar (Ajay) made me feel unsafe. Even though I paid on arrival for the stay and the food I ordered for dinner, I left a few hours after I checked in for another accommodation where I felt safer.
- Jorg (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful place with astonishing views and a nice spacious garden. Everything was well organized and the host was very kind and helpful. We only stayed one night but if we could have we would have extended our stay. The road to the house is a challenge, but well worth it.
- Mahesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rowan (10/5): Mountain Dream (Great Pekoe trail stop) - What a beautiful gem! We were cancelled last minute by another accommodation, so we found this by accident... and we couldn't have been more happy! The view was incredible and you really have a whole big area at the very top of access to the mountain and beautifully manicured lawn to yourself to admire the huge valley and dam below.
The owner was incredibly kind to let us come without much time to prepare. His generosity extends further, he has made the initiative to allow food orders (done through an online app!) that is made by a single mother of two. The meals are delicious and very fairly priced.
The accomodation itself is very neat, clean and comfortable. Everything works and great care has been taken to keep it in good condition. Had we known, we would have most certainly stayed longer because it's not just bare minimum self-catering, rather the care of providing all sorts of cooking accompaniments like oil and spices, labeling all the cupboards so that things are easy to find, a large fridge/freezer and all amenities you would need including a BBQ are provided. You could quite possibly just spend a week up there all to yourself.
It's situated next to the second half of the 3rd stage of the Pekoe trail, so we walked some of it in reverse in the morning. We were welcome to walk anywhere, so this walk in particular we were delighted with the sights of tea plantations and beautiful forests we got to experience. I would highly recommend this to anyone walking the Pekoe trail!
What a dream, we only wish we had more time to stay. Thank you so much for your kindness and hospitality.
- Slime (10/5): serenity, space and value !! - clean property and amenities, amazing value considering the size of the land.
amazing hiking paths and greenery + views, closely situated to shops and housekeeper kumara would sort out anything else needed.
- Örs (10/5): Exceptional -
- Marc (9/5): Superb - Very quiet and comfortable place, at 1250m. In Tamil plantation land.
Well equipped kitchen Bathroom is small
You need a tuktuk lift from the road (1000Rs)
- Līga (9/5): Superb - Very cozy and nice home up to hills. If you want to relax end enjoy nature we can definitely recommend this place.
- Margherita (9/5): Superb - Perfect location for those who are doing the Pekoe Trail (or those who want to spend a quiet weekend): the place is located on the same route as stage 3, towards the end.
The house has breathtaking views and is located in the middle of tea plantations. The accommodation consists of two rooms with double beds, an equipped kitchen, a bathroom with hot water, terrace and garden.
The first village is located 30 minutes walk away but don't let that put you off! The house keeper, Mr. Kumar was very kind and brought us dinner and breakfast, depending on our requests.
Absolutely recommended!
