Guest Reviews
- Lorraine Miles (10/5): -
- Linda (9/5): We enjoyed our stay in the beautiful apartment. - Sea views and the apartment was nice
- Jane (10/5): Great place to stay if you don’t want to be in the tourist area of Margate - Fabulous views . Comfortable apartment. Felt safe . Nothing
- Mike (7/5): Cold draughty living room windows but great views - The view from the windows is so relaxing watching the numerous ships, the wind turbines, the dog walkers and the huge number of sea gulls flying over the promenade. We hardly watched TV at all, opting for the views even at nighttime. We stayed for 4 nights arriving on a very cold Xmas eve with a bitter 30mph north easterly wind blowing.
Hoping to find a nice warm refuge we were disappointed that the thermostat (located in the hallway) was only set to 15°C but even more disappointed when we saw the very large cold draughty single glazed sash windows to the living room. The cold wind was whistling into the flat around the window frames even causing the blinds to move which meant the living room temperature was much lower.
We ramped up the heating but there was only one radiator in the living room which was at the opposite side of the room to the windows so the heating was less effective.
Faced with the prospect of spending Christmas in a cold draughty flat we actually considered going home but thought it best to tough it out.
Leaving the heating on all night did improve matters but the cold wind was still blowing and the space around the windows was not a pleasant place to spend time watching the sea.
It was now Christmas day so to reduce the draughty windows I inserted LOADS of tissue paper into the gaps. This made a huge difference as by the end of the day the room heated up to an acceptable level.
Apart from the cold windows the other things we noticed were:
The hallway radiator didn't heat up sufficiently due to a faulty valve.
There was no folder with instructions for working the oven/hob/shower.
The bedroom is small in comparison to the large living room size because the main and much larger bedroom is inaccessible.
The owner of the property only contacted us once with the key code and a happy Christmas. There was no welcome hamper as we've had with all our other Xmas bookings. Also not even a pint of milk and only two miserable coffee pods were provided.
Other issues were the kitchen window wouldn't open and there was no extractor fan.
- Olivier (9/5): Great spot to enjoy Margate and Kent. Great view, very well equipped appartment. - Very nice details added to the obvious highpoint: the sea view! Would be perfect equipped with a King or at least Queen size bed. The bed in place is definetly too small (for us).
- Pitts (10/5): 3 night break in Margate - The apartment was excellent and provided for a wonderful stay in Margate. It was very comfortable and warm with lovely views out to sea from the sofa. The Tom Thumb Theatre around the corner was a delight and shopping on the Cliftonville main street was enjoyable with some nice cafes and vintage shops. It was easy to stroll into Margate along the sea front and it was fairly quiet at this time of year (end of October). All in all, this was a lovely three night break in a lovely apartment.
- Tracey (10/5): A beautiful gem of a find.... - The attention to detail, the comfort, the views, the peace, and the quiet.
Everything was carefully thought through.
Honestly cannot believe how fortunate we felt finding this beautiful gem.
The bed was super comfy, the towels fluffy, the water was hot.
Harriet was super responsive and caring in her replies.
My sister and I felt like children at christmas. Every little detail got us saying, "Oh wow, look at this,..." The cornice in the main room, oh my!
Free parking right outside.
I could go on forever praising this place.... Honestly, there is nothing we could think of.
- michelle (10/5): I hope to return and stay again - The decor was well thought out and felt special as it was different. Everything was well thought and we did not have any issues with things we needed.
Great views That I couldn’t stay longer!
- Glynis Buckmaster (9/5): A lovely short stay by the sea in a good location with lots to see. - The location was great with lovely views and a nice sea walk into Margate. The accommodation was well appointed with lots of space. The bed was rather small.
- Frances (10/5): Really relaxing - The apartment was beautiful and the view was amazing. A good excuse to sit and stare at the sea
- John (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place, the photos online don't really do it justice. We really loved the place Nothing to mention
- Anna (10/5): Wonderful relaxing retreat - Amazing location, stunning views, very luxurious - felt like a real treat! Nothing really.
Our only issue was with the key- the email with instructions didn't come through in time, probably due to WiFi connections. Luckily the previous guests happened to see us looking a little desperate and lost outside - and gave us the code! So all good in the end 🙂
- Harry_mc (10/5): Harriet was a great host. Her guest book proves it again and again. - We made breakfast in the apartment. Lidle was very closebye. Absolutely nothing. Genuinely it was perfect.
- Stuart (10/5): Lovely stay in a lovely property in Margate. - Gorgeous property, matching the photos and description. Easy to find, plenty of free parking outside. Rooms beautifully decorated, bed and furniture all very comfy and all appliances we used were all good. The info about the external key safe needs updating as it’s no longer the one on the right, but found the right one.
- Frangi (10/5): Exceptional -
- Keith (9/5): Enjoyed our short stay in a beautiful apartment. - Stylish decor. Excellent sea views. Error in description- no dishwasher, no onsite parking (parking available only on nearby streets).
- Joel (10/5): The pictures do it justice - The whole flat was well organised, easy to use and the coastal views were beautiful The towels could have been a big bigger, for bigger people but apart from that it was a good experience
- Roman (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jane (9/5): Comfortable and enjoyable with the bonus of a great view. - We enjoyed the fantastic view from the apartment and the interior was done beautifully. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and the bed was very comfortable.
- Tamsin (10/5): We had a very enjoyable stay. The apartment was everything we needed and more. - The view really is breathtaking. The apartment is amply kitted out and very comfortable. I wish we had had longer so I could have made use of the TV in the bath :) It was all wonderful. The multiple chandeliers were a bit OTT but the pink door is a total winner - all just a matter of personal preference of course.
- Sue (9/5): Lovely peaceful and comfortable apartment, with tranquil view over the sea. - Lovely apartment with spacious lounge, as described. Really peaceful to sit and look out at sea and walkers. Comfy sofas. I appreciated being able to adjust heating thermostat whenever I needed, in early spring weather. Short walk to Tesco and about a mile to centre of Margate along seafront. Short drive to Broadstairs and Ramsgate. I would visit again. Niggles only, a very comfy apartment. A bit of hiatus getting in as message of keysafe and code only arrived shortly before check-in, while I was travelling. But Harriet picked up immediately and I could have checked before setting out. My first experience of digital shower; a hunt for shower instructions revealed I had to press and hold the lower button to switch to handheld.
- Wright (10/5): Exceptional - The apartment was beautiful throughout. Incredible views. Really homely and comfortable.
- Catherine (10/5): It really is a beautiful flat with all the views and facilities promised :) - The location is perfect, the photos are 100% accurate. The host responded quickly to messages. Internet and heating were easy to work out :) The shower looks vintage but is actually digital!
