Guest Reviews
- Jordan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Cheryl (10/5): My stay was short but nothing short of amazing. Khalid took good care of us and felt amazing to be there. I will definit - It was clean, affordable, comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. Nothing at all
- Cecilia (9/5): Comfortable haven in Siwa - Kind staff, great location, yummy breakfast. Would definitely stay again!
- Starr (7/5): Charming authentic Siwa House - This place is charming and authentic. For an adventure traveler, it is a real gem. The owner is very good at staying in touch via WhatsApp and tries to make it good for you. This is Instagram worthy. I found the bed to be very uncomfortable. It is a futon like cotton pad about 3” thick and after one night I couldn’t see staying. However Maryann helped me to find a new hotel with a regular mattress. She continued to stay in contact and offered her help even though I left.
- João (10/5): Exceptional - Baben Home is a wonderful sanctuary in Siwa. Conveniently located near the centre, yet distanced enough for it to be separate from the frenziness and traffic found thereon, it is a wonderful property. From check-in to check-out, the staff was very helpful (in helping with booking tours, giving great restaurant recommendations or liaising with transportation for some of Siwa’s wonders) and highly recommend this property!
- Cheng (9/5): will absolutely be there next time when in Siwa - perfect location with perfect host, lovely decoration and traditional architecture to give a chance to know how people live there.
- Holý (9/5): Best location and friendly staff, recommend for your stay in Siwa - The place has great vibes and location 5 minute walk from city center. Staff is great and helpful, no problem communicating in english. Breakfast is available anytime and they can help with all the activities like safari and night in the desert, drive you around in tuktuk.
- Abdelrahman (10/5): Exceptional - It takes me almost a week just to digest that I left the place, it was an absolute pleasure knowing the place, the host and the beautiful guests. Special thanks to Khaled who really helped us enjoying the surroundings. See u all next time
- Filippo (2/5): Very poor - Bed No clean
- Maria (9/5): A wonderful stay - Khaled was wonderful and really took care of us, taking us around Siwa and helping us with any questions we had, he was super attentive and really friendly. The communication beforehand was also really great - I got quick responses to all my questions. The place itself is so cosy and rustic and you are made to feel very welcome and at home. Located super central to the main area and the bus station. Wifi worked really well too.
- Ahmed (10/5): I will come back soon❤️ - I really like everything here Nothing
- Hyunju (10/5): Perfect staying - The room is very comfy, safe and clean. The staffs and gusts are both amazing. I'm sure that everyone will fall in love with this home.
- Jade (6/5): Pleasant - The place is cozy and well located in the heart of Siwa. Hot water and top-quality WiFi make for a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, my stay was marred by three nights of restless sleep due to a significant presence of flies and mosquitoes in the room. Consequently, I suffered numerous bites, impacting my overall comfort. It would be beneficial if the accomodation considered implementing measures such as installing mosquito netting, providing insect repellent, or utilizing fans to mitigate this issue in the future.
- Alicia (10/5): Amazing stay at beautiful Berber house - My stay at Baben Home was just wonderful. I was allowed to check-in before the time which was great after the long night journey to Siwa from Cairo. Breakfast was delicious and the staff is very helpful and friendly. They gave us nice recommendations and helped us to organize transport to all the spots we wanted to visit in Siwa. The room was so cozy as well as the rest of the house. I will definitely come back :) Everything was perfect :)
- Kohei (7/5): Good - Nice Staff, Cozy Atmosphere
- Mahmoud (10/5): Exceptional -
- Souri (10/5): Exceptional - The host was amazing. I was allowed to check in way before the actual check in time. The breakfast was delicious and the host organized all the activities and trips for us which was very convenient. Overall the stay was very comfortable and I had an amazing experience in Siwa. I would definitely stay there again.
- Eleana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Scheele (10/5): loved it! - We loved staying here & would recommend this stay if you are ever in Siwa! The aesthetic of the place was nicely done, it was very clean & breakfast was great:) The place was in a good location, super close (walking distance) to the bus station, towns & some good restaurants. Although we didn’t end up using it, the kitchen was stocked with necessities that we were free to use. The host was very responsive, friendly & helpful- she helped us book tours & rides around Siwa. We would definitely stay here again! n/a
- Siew (9/5): Superb - All. Great location with friendly staff. The compose toilet
- Yingying (10/5): Exceptional - beauty and nature view, good location
- Yasmina (9/5): Beautiful ❤️ - Very beautiful space with a great energy, very peaceful, very cozy, Maryhan and Khaled are amazing and made the stay super special, very delicious breakfast, not too far from Downtown Siwa but still very calm! We felt very much at home 🌞
- Hirotomo (10/5): Perfectly designed place to chill out - As a designer, I know how difficult it is to present a lot of stuff while being neat and clean in a space, but it’s truly comforting when it’s achieved. You can find that in Siwa. Baben Home is the perfect place to chill out and think nothing and just assimilate with the space. People are really nice there and will be a lot of help when you need anything. Beware of mosquitos, the repellent in the rooms weren’t working.
It can be cold at night in winter, two blankets weren’t enough for me.
- Mostafa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Felizitas (10/5): Exceptional - Super beautiful place. A very nice owner and Siwa is also a good place to stay for a while.
- Jenny (3/5): Poor - After arriving at the house, I found that the surrounding environment was very dirty and poor. The house was in ruins and there was a lot of rubbish. The owner is from Cairo. The double room is just a large floor bunk with few facilities. We have to share the living room and public toilet with other people. At this price, we can rent a better house in Siwa. Please choose carefully unless you don’t mind!
- Daniela (10/5): Baben Home: it can really be called HOME - Baben Home is the best you can find in Siwa. The owner Maryhan is a young woman and she does her best to value the tipical siwa house and to make you feel home. I only stayed one night but I would have stayed there for a month if I could! The rooms are super nice, the shared areas are very casual and the compostable toilet helps the enviroment. The breakfast was delicious and home-made cooked. I had a great time with Matyhan too, she helped me and some new friends to get around the area and she gave us the BEST suggestions.
In other words, I can't wait to come back. I already miss Siwa, Maryhan and Baben Home.
- Alison (8/5): Fantastic warm home - Fantastic warm home. Maryhan take us to experience the most hidden treasures of Xiwa, participate in her friends' gatherings (even in the Sahara Desert), and cook traditional breakfast full of love every day. The location is in the center of the town, but it is very quiet. The old house has been in disrepair for a long time, so the wall will fall off a lot of wall skin to the bed. We have to take the dust on our body every morning, but isn't this the joy of living in traditional areas?
- Samar (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing experience so friendly and all details so fabulous
- Tatiana (10/5): Perfect - I liked the friendly atmosphere and the mismatched floors with different rooms. The rooms have off a very romantic aesthetic and they were beautifully decorated.
- Michael (10/5): Amazing home, great location and lovely host! - An inspiring and peaceful shared space from another era, beautifully decorated and made to feel like home, in the heart of Siwa city. Some doors require a little maintenance! :)
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional - Maryhan was an awesome host, we couldn't have asked for more. Tbe breakfast was delicious, the room was real cute, and the main space is incredibly aesthetic and relaxing. Best of luck to Baben Home, hopefully we'll stay again soon! Nothing!
- Wahed (8/5): Very good - I like the place is so unique ❤️ Toilet
- Elisa (10/5): Fantastic, cozy and central homestay. Highly recommended. - Highly recommend this home-stay especially for anyone off the tourism conveyor belt. Maryhan is happy to provide her recommendations and arrange transport so you can get around on your own. She even invited me to share a meal with her friends during Ramadan. Delicious, homemade breakfasts!
- Grace (10/5): The loveliest guesthouse in Siwa - Absolutely gorgeous guesthouse close to Siwa town and a short drive to all the amazing springs. Maryhan was the loveliest host and made a delicious breakfast each day, and the room was comfortable and clean.
- Yazed (10/5): Beautiful Siwan traditional house
Marihan and her friends were the best hosts ever thank you so much -
- Ruby (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was just perfect, we really enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was very nice! We definitely would love to come again
