- Portia (7/5): Excellent tour of the Ritigala Forest Monastery. A real local home stay experience. - The most amazing family. Raju took me on a guided tour of the Ritigala Forest Monastery and his knowledge is excellent. I learned so many interesting facts. His wife cooked a delicious evening meal and breakfast. I was welcomed with a refreshing drink. The village has no mains water so in the spirit of #seekdiscomfort be prepared to wash at the handpump or in the reservoir. Remember to pack some mozzi spray. This was an amazing adventure into #realrurallifeSriLanka. So say #yestheory and step out for an adventure. It touched my heart and was a beautiful experience. I would recommend a little sign, I couldn't find it. A new plastic bowl for use in the toilet.
