• Janet (10/5): The most beautiful "shed' you will ever stay in! - Beautiful setting, like being in a secret garden-peaceful, not a sound! Hot tub and decking over the river provided therapeutic benefits, easy to find and Brecons very accessible, amazing weather too, could not asked for a more relaxing 3 day break!

• Stacey (10/5): 10/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone. - It’s beautiful. Every part about it. Cosy, warm and the perfect place for a complete reset and relaxation. The little balcony over the stream is heavenly. The new hot tub is incredible and there is something special about the outdoor shower. The hosts are so unbelievably friendly and welcoming. We’ve gone back the last 2 years for our anniversary weekend and it will continue to be our tradition, the one thing we look forward to each year. We already can’t wait to come back next year. That we had to leave.

• Rebecca (9/5): - We stayed for 2 nights and could have easily stayed longer. The accommodation was so comfy and had had everything we needed. The facilities were amazing; the hot tube, the terrace over the river, the outside shower. We didn't end up exploring the local pubs as we just wanted to enjoy the property in the evenings after the days exploring. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended to family/friends. Thank you!

• Bethany (10/5): Absolutely amazing - we have booked again - Wow, we have just come back from a 3 night stay at the shed and genuinely didn’t want to leave. It was so cozy and homely. We loved the log burner and the hot tub outside, as well as the comfy bed and heated floor in the bathroom. It was a great base for exploring. Bob was so friendly… the one day my partner and I unfortunately got a flat tyre. Bob went out of his way to take the tyre off for us, drove us to a local tyre place to see if it could be repaired, then drove us back with our new tyre. He then even fit it for us. Very kind of him! We can’t wait to come back, we have booked again for summer so we can make use of the lighter evenings and the outdoor shower. Another amazing thing about the place is the little balcony… listening to the sound of the flowing water whilst having a glass of wine… pure bliss. NOTHING!! We loved everything. Nothing about the place, but just be careful on the drive down to it as the road has a few pot holes, so be careful in the dark.

• Anisha (10/5): AMAZING! ❤️ - Everything from start to finish ❤️! My partner and I were in awe, the studio was well decorated and equipped. There was nothing we didn’t like! The patio by the river, jacuzzi and outdoor shower were big bonuses! There were chocolates and a bottle of Prosecco as welcome gift, which was so nice of the hosts. We were sad to leave.. Can’t wait to visit again in the future! Teeny tiny only ~ 1. No toiletries e.g shampoo and shower gel 2. Limited space to hang clothes 3. Cooking oil and spices would be great!

The decking near the water was gorgeous and in the summer months this would be a beautiful place to relax. The small touches made it exceptional, the lighting, wood burner, hot tub made it a wonderful stay for Christmas. The hosts even left us some Christmas goodies for our arrival. The most lovely stay and will definitely be booking again… Leaving

• daniels (10/5): A Hidden Welsh Gem That Felt Like Home! - We spent 2 nights at Shed Gwely and honestly didn’t want to leave. What a cosy, well-put-together place. Spacious, airy, and wonderfully warm once the log burner was going. The bed was big and incredibly comfortable too. The whole place really connected with us – all the quirky little items and signs dotted throughout give it so much character. It naturally makes you slow down, be close, and enjoy each other’s company… exactly what we needed. The garden was lovely, with the peaceful sound of the stream in the background, and the hot tub was a real highlight. Even in the cold weather it was a perfect, relaxing experience. We were genuinely sad to leave because this place has that “just one more night” feeling. We’ll definitely be back. Thanks for a wonderful stay. It’s not that we didn’t like anything — we genuinely loved our stay — but there are a couple of small things that might make life a little easier for future guests. The steps leading down to Shed Gwely are fairly large, and a handrail would be really helpful, especially for anyone who’s a bit less mobile. Also, the hot tub steps were quite high, which made the drop getting in a bit bigger than expected. Again, nothing bad at all — just small preferences that could make an already lovely experience even smoother. Overall, the stay was fantastic, and these suggestions are simply meant as helpful feedback, not criticism.
• roberts (9/5): - Bob and louise were very friendly and accommodating and welcoming. The location is amazing, very peaceful with beautiful scenery. Hot tub and seating (built over a river) was outstanding. The log fire kept the property warm and relaxed. Great value for money and as clean as could be. I would highly recommend a stay at this property. There really wasn't anything to dislike. The bed was a bit firm, which most people may prefer.
• Talha (10/5): - An excellent cosy place to stay. A very friendly couple own the place, and even though they live next door, they leave you to it, unless you need them. The log fire in the evening is lovely. It makes the lodge nice and toasty. The outside shower is brilliant and the underfloor heating in the toilet/shower is so comfortable. Everything was great. Nothing to complain about. Being picky I picked a couple of things as improvements but can only think of one now. The toilet/shower door has a handle on the outside but not on the inside. Would make life a lot easier if on the inside too. Oh yes a brighter light outside in the garden would be ideal for when you need to do a bbq at night. Could put it on a switch rather than a sensor so it's only switched on when needed.

Local pub had lovely atmosphere and good food and within an easy 10 min walk. If I’m being super picky and have to think of something, maybe gowns for walking out to the hot tub!

• Gordon (10/5): Hidden gem - The owners were friendly and helpful, and Shed Gwelty is a hidden gem. It's quiet and secluded, perfect just to relax and unwind. It's also not that far from Abergavenny or several other attractions, especially if you make a little plan on what to do, if you want a day out. I loved it.

• Laura (10/5): Magical Welsh getaway - Shed Gwely was an absolutely magical getaway! We came for a weekend and honestly, would have loved to have stayed longer! The directions from the hosts were great, easy to get to and a perfect rural location, but only 10 mins walk to the local! The property itself was beautiful, so cost and colourful, we settled in immediately. Our fave place to chill was the deck over the water, spent our evenings with a glass of wine and some music feeling like we were a world away from home! The outside shower is a MUST! Genius installation! Along with the hot tub and all the board / garden games. This stay is exceptional value for money, you can really see the thought that’s gone into the space. It’s a gorgeous gem! Nothing
• Aine (10/5): We did a day trip to the four waterfalls in the Brecon Beacons which was about a 40minute drive away which was so worth - The property was super clean and cozy! Such a perfect stay. Very relaxing! The outdoor area was amazing and relaxing by the river at night time with the fairy lights it was magical! The owners of the property were so friendly and welcoming. We even made friends with their pet dog and cat 🐱🐶 They have thought of every little detail that you would need to enjoy the stay! There was an Alexa both in the house and outdoor area was great where you could play some music. We had a bbq and enjoyed the hot tub and boards games! 10/10 we will 100% be back.

The smart speakers in the shed and at the hot tub. It’s so peaceful and relaxing! We had a lovely warm welcome from the owners and their family pets 🥰 Nothing to dislike at all!

• James (10/5): Exceptional - Location and the settings were fantastic, they have really thought of everything, I design for a living and still found inspiration in the interior design, quirky practical and cosy in one! Will 100% visit again and recommend to family and friends, in fact we have booked two days after our wedding as a mini honey moon next year 😆 The lit up outside seating above the stream and the hot tub were definite highlights as well as visits from a gorgeous little dog that lives nearby 😁 Loved every second 10 out of 10 nothing.

Booked shed Gwely as a surprise for my partner and we were both blown away as soon as we opened the door. • Deborah (10/5): Just what we needed!!! - This was the perfect getaway for us! We were in great need of relaxation in a private and comfortable space after a bereavement. The place is both well connected with a village and various amenities not too far whilst also feeling in the middle of the countryside. Quiet and lots of nature around us. The stream by the place was a lovely bonus and we loved sitting on the clever decking area at night, just looking at the starts! In warmer weather we could imagine enjoying our evening meal there as they also have soft lighting all around. The hot tub worked well and we could really chill and talk in what felt like a very private space. The 'shed' itself is thoughtfully decorated with lots to look at, all the equipment needed and all very comfortable. Great hot shower on demand! Kitchen also works well. Cairo the cat was very interested in spending time with us, for those who like cats! We loved it and will definitely be back. :) Nothing we didn't like. Just some things that would be useful to be aware of. No freezer compartment in the mini fridge, so no ice. Cairo the cat might want to come in, he's very friendly. The hot tub is unlikely to be ready for the first night - not a problem once we knew as we then just looked at the starts instead! We were there over quite a cold spell, so had to order extra wood. It would also have been useful to have had more kindling and fire lighters with that.
• - (10/5): A perfect stay away - Perfect welcoming upon arrival, the fire was lit (call 30 mins in advance of arriving), bottle of prosecco and cake set aside, cosy lighting (more lights available to turn on) hot tub prepped too (this will be a need from now on hahaha). Very comfy bed, very comfy snuggly sofa (with foot stools). You can hear the stream gently in the background. Perfect! Very well thought out throughout. There is everything you need. Could not be happier with the stay. Thank you very much! We shall be back.

• Elle (10/5): Thoroughly enjoyed. Me and my partner got the peace and quiet we wanted. - Very quaint and quirky place. I loved how cosy it was, especially the log burner. The fully equipped kitchen was fab. Bed was comfy. Oh and the underfloor heating in the bathroom was lovely. And then outside the hot tub was a bonus, and loved the decking near the stream. Nicely done. Perfect for getting away. Nothing.
• Lilla (10/5): Absolutely amazing!! - Amazing stay! Very kind and accommodating hosts, the shed had everything we could need, even some treats when we checked in. The hot tub was so relaxing, and drinking our morning coffees on the seating above the stream was incredibly calming. The fire was so nice since we stayed in December, it kept the shed warm all evening (the heated flooring in the bathroom was also super nice!). The hosts recommended a walk along the canal and a local pub which we really enjoyed. Overall a fantastic stay, spending my birthday in Shed Gwely was extra special. We would not hesitate to stay here again☺️ Nothing, absolutely perfect.
