• van Hamelsveld (10/5): Exceptionally clean and friendly guesthouse with everything you need in an amazing location. - Andy and Haruko’s guesthouse was exceptionally clean, peaceful and well equipped with everything we needed. The staff (especially Sara) and other guests were friendly and welcoming. We were given lots of great local recommendations and Andy also runs a highly rated snorkelling tour. The guesthouse has everything you need for cooking and the laundry for guests is cheap and fast. The room itself was spacious and comfortable with good air conditioning. The property is located about 10 minutes walk from the ferry terminal and just 5 minutes walk from the main area with bars and restaurants, so the location is excellent. Overall the value for money could not have been better! We loved it here and would have happily stayed longer!

• Zhenghongji (10/5): リピート確定！ - 清潔であること。自らの生活にも取り入れたいくらい、微に入り細に入り整理整頓されており又美品の使い勝手もとても良好でした。皆様口コミで挙げておりますが、日々の清掃が隅々まで行き届いています。リノベされてから数年経っていると推察しますが、お手本にしたいくらい設備が綺麗に保たれている事に驚きを隠せませんでした。 ベッドはマットレス2重＋α。私は腰が悪いのでマットレスは苦手なのですが寝心地バッチリ。 洗濯機200円、乾燥機300円／回でしたが、２階屋根付きバルコニーは風通しがとても良く、薄手の肌着程度なら数時間で乾いてとても助かりました。 またそのバルコニーには2台のハンモックがあり、午前中に１時間程度使用させてもらいましたが訪問月が4月ということもあり、とても心地よい風を感じることができ精神的にとてもリラックスすることができました。これを感じるだけでもここを選ぶ価値は私にはありますね。 1階の男女兼用シャワー（2階は女性専用）は水圧も強く、ソープ類も完備、清掃も完璧でカビなどは一切なし。毎日欠かさず清掃されていることが見て取れます。 ゲストハウスのカテゴリーとしては100点満点で良く無い点を探すのが難しいです。唯一、部屋の外の生活音、足音や話し声が聞こえてしまうのは致し方ない事だと思いますが、ハウスルールでその点もカバーされておりました。 近隣のホテルとの価格競争が激しいらしく、ゲストハウスとしては若干高めの料金設定な点、苦戦されているとオーナーは言っておられましたが、圧倒的な清潔感と居心地の良さがもっと伝わればもっと利用者は増えると思います。

• momoko963 (9/5): 清潔できれいなゲストハウス - コンビニも繁華街も徒歩圏。スーパーも近く、自転車も借りることができるので少しの遠出も可能です。食器やキッチン用具などはすべてそろっており、長期で滞在してもいいなーと思います。 水回りもいつも清潔でした！ 部屋が一階だったのですが、窓が普通のガラスで、磨りガラスや目隠しのシールなどを貼って頂けると夜でも安心だと思います。

• Mark Wagstaff (10/5): Excellent - The location is good for the ferry to several islands and for the bus back to the airport. there are a small number of rooms, yet the kitchen and general sitting areas are quite large with good equipment. wifi is excellent. The staff were amazing. The owner Andy was sick but still managed to fix me up with a snorkelling trip ( be aware that most online companies will not take you if you are above 59!!!). Sarah who was the main contact point at the guest house also did some shopping for me when I was there and was also helping other guests sort out massages etc. I don't usually do reviews but thought I would make an exception because of the service. 10 out of 10 on a personal level I would prefer a bed rather than the floor level mattress. Perhaps it's because I am over 59 !!!

La guesthouse est très bien équipée avec une cuisine et un espace commun pour se poser très agréable, c’est pratique pour profiter des bons produits locaux qu’on peut aller chercher au marché tout proche. La chambre double que nous avions était très spacieuse et confortable. La guesthouse est très bien placée pour parcourir le centre ville d’Ishigaki et aller au port à pied. Andy et Haruko sont des guests géniaux ! Nous avons même pu profiter de l’activité de snorkeling proposée par Andy, merveilleux !

• YUKO (10/5): また利用したい！ - リビングとキッチンが清潔で、連泊や施設内での食事も困らなかったです。部屋はマットレスと大きなスーツケースが広げられるスペースがあります。マットレスがとっても寝心地が良く、いつもよりよく眠ることができました。 ダイビングの器材を屋外で洗って干すことができるので助かりました。チェックアウト後も荷物を置かせていただいて、最終日も楽しむことができました。 一緒になったゲストの方もリピーターの方がおられ、仲良くしていただきました。ゲストの雰囲気も良かったです。 特に気になるところはなかったです。

This guesthouse is clean, generally quiet, and has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Ishigaki, including a full kitchen, laundry, and two bikes available to be borrowed. Andy is a stellar host and goes out of his way once you get there to make sure you get everything you want out of your visit. Nearby restaurants are excellent and Andy can help with recommendations or reservations. The ferry port couldn’t be more convenient, if you choose to do day trips to other islands. And don’t forget to book in advance to snorkel with Andy. He knows all the precious, less-known spots on the island to see beautiful coral and fish, turtles and sharks, and runs his small-group tours thoughtfully and with respect to ocean life.

• Bianca (10/5): There’s no better place to stay on Ishigaki! - We chose to stay here for 2 weeks while working remotely and had an absolutely wonderful stay at Andy & Haruko’s property. Guest House Ishigaki is a beautiful, extremely clean, and well-designed house equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The Farmer’s Market and tons of great shops and restaurants are a stone’s throw away, as well as the ferry to other nearby islands. We really appreciated Andy & Haruko’s attention to sustainability throughout, and their thoughtful touches, like the cold jasmine tea in the fridge at all times to cool down from the heat. We had let them know in advance that we would be working remotely and they even created a desk space for us in our room. And the beds were SO comfortable - we had the best sleeps here of our 2 months in Japan. Though the location and amenities were amazing, the best part about our stay was undoubtedly the people; Andy, Haruko and Yuichiro are some of the loveliest people who genuinely care about their guests. We could not have wished for anything more! Nothing - it was perfect!

• Guillaume (9/5): Excellent - Kitchen where you can actually cook (cookware, oil/salt, places to store food etc), comfortable beds/pillows, good aircon in the room, great tips and help provided by the owner, clean, rooftop hammocks, quiet location but easy walk to everything. Highly recommend this as a good value option in Ishigaki. No sound insulation in the rooms. Earplugs are provided, and you'll need them. Also very minor but the aircon unit has a really bright light when it's turned on which means the room is illuminated all night (such an easy fix if these were taped over with some gaffer tape by the guesthouse).

I was able to hang out in the common area after checking out as my flight did not leave until the evening which I appreciated. Also did a snorkeling trip with the host's company which was great. :) Overall excellent value.

• Smith (10/5): 10/10 Would Book Again - This is the best place we stayed while travelling Japan for one month. Extremely clean and comfortable guest house. Communication was excellent and the host Andy was always popping by to make sure things were clean and organised. The facilities were excellent providing all the essentials and more. To top off the stay we also booked a snorkeling tour with Andy which was incredible. Nothing.

The hosts and housekeeper were very helpful, good place to meet fellow travellers, and the dive shop attached with the shop means you don’t need to look too far for a good day tour. I highly recommend this property to anyone traveling solo. Centrally located, lots of great izakayas and food places within 5 minute radius of the guesthouse. Stay here!
• Lh (10/5): Superb stay! - As a group of friends on a diving trip in Ishigaki, we enjoyed every second at Andy's guesthouse! It was clean, well-maintained, and quiet, yet close to a convenience store and many restaurants. It had everything we needed—especially the outdoor space for washing and drying our equipment. I can't imagine the trouble we would have had if we'd stayed in a hotel. Andy was friendly and very helpful. The restaurants he recommended were superb! Highly recommended for divers or anyone looking for a relaxed holiday on the island!

The house is incredibly comfortable, the natural materials in the house - wooden floors, beautiful wooden staircase, reed-mats (tatami-floors), cute little plants everywhere, linen-cotton mix sheets, and the whole set up of the main room/kitchen and rooms and bathrooms - all done with so much attention and love and care that you feel as a guest there very comfortable and welcome. The mattresses were comfortable - we slept good on them. The kitchen was greatly equipped with everything you need. The hosts kept a freshly cold brewed jasmine tea in the fridge - it was so good! We used the washing machine and the dryer or dried our laundry outside. I loved the hanging hammock chair on the terrace, was really fun. Also, we found that the other guests themselves were very cool and interesting. We made friends with many guests during our stay. There is a great farmers market a few walking minutes away as well as two Family Marts just around the corner and other shops and restaurants. The Ferry Terminal (from where we took the bus to the airport) is only 10-15 min walk. We felt safe and well taken care of in this guest house. To summarize, we had a really great time there. • Sandra (10/5): Home away from home - It’s a beautifully renovated house with all the comforts you need. Andy is a legend, checking in everyday and helping whenever he can with suggestions on where to go and when’s the best day for snorkelling due to weather. He knows the ocean here and you can trust when he says it’s a good day to snorkel it will be a good day! 100% coming back and recommending. Nothing
• Louis (10/5): Great and worth the money. - Accomodation-wise, Guest House Ishigaki was one of the highligts of our one-month trip to Japan. The hosts were very friendly, helpful, and came by the Guest House to clheck up every day. We also went snorkling with Andy and saw sea turtles. A definite must-try if you are interested. Nothing.
• Noa (10/5): Out of the ordinary in all aspects - This is one of the most beautiful guesthouse I've ever seen. Probably the most beautiful. there was so much thougt spend on every detail and you feel that. It's spotless. The living room is comfortable for working but you can also just chill there and to feel very happy. I felt very comfortable there and it was very much because of Andy, who's available for any question or just for chatting. The location is very very good if you don't rent a car. There's many restaurants, bars and shops in a walking distance. this has been one the best places I've ever been too. I'm really looking forward of coming back.
