• James (10/5): Very friendly and caring hosts who we will remember with fondness - A beautiful property with a lovely garden with some huge plants and funky lights. Very spacious too. What made our stay extra special was the friendship from Sisi and Harshani and their lovely boys. We ate there every evening and Harshani prepared delicious dinner and breakfast. Nothing to say here
• jakob (9/5): - The rooms have a nice balcony with sea view. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The homestay is managed by Sisi and his wives, very friendly and welcoming people.
• Giulia (10/5): - Großartige Gastgeberin mit einer sehr großzügigen und liebevollen Familie. Die Gastfreundschaft, das exzellente Essen mit den vielfältigen Curries (alles, wirklich alles, wird von Grund auf von Harshani selbst zubereitet und schmeckt einfach unglaublich gut, häufig um einiges besser als im Restaurant!). Unsere Tochter hat es geliebt mit den Jungs im Garten zu spielen, und wir fühlten uns wie zuhause. Da diese Unterkunft unsere letzte Station auf unserer langen Reise durch Sri Lanka war, fiel uns der Abschied entsprechend noch schwerer! Wir werden Harshani und ihre Familie in sehr guter Erinnerung behalten!

• Andrea (9/5): I really enjoyed the stay and got around with the Tuk Tuk - I stayed at Sisi Place for 3 nights and 4 days and had a very pleasant experience. My room was the newest in the house, with high ceilings, air conditioning, and a modern bathroom - very comfortable and nicely furnished. The accommodation is run with great warmth and care by Harshani and her family, making you feel welcome right away. The food was excellent: breakfast, lunch, and dinner are all available. Everything is freshly prepared and always very delicious. It is recommended to pre-order your meals so the host can shop accordingly and prepare everything fresh. The beach is only a 5-7 minute walk away, and restaurants can be reached quickly and easily by tuk-tuk. I can highly recommend this place.
• Robin (9/5): Relaxed and comfortable stay with amazing food :) - Die Gastgeberin ist unglaublich nett, freundlich und zuvorkommend und versucht einem jeden Wunsch zu erfüllen. Sie kocht außerdem super leckeres Essen, sowohl Frühstück als auch Abendessen, sogar Mittagessen was wir allerdings nie bestellt haben da die Portionen immer so groß waren das sie uns über den ganzen Tag satt gehalten haben bzw. wir uns was vom Frühstück für mittags aufbewahrt haben. Das Anwesen ist super schön und die Lage ist top wenn man am Kudawella Beach seine Zeit mit entspannen und surfen verbringen will. Man ist in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß am Strand. Das einzige was negativ war war das eine extra Gebühr pro Tag (300 rupies) für die Nutzung des WLANs verlangt wurde was uns im Vorhinein nicht klar war. Ansonsten war alles tip top
• Kristina (10/5): A hidden gem. Beautiful, quiet, right at the beach, hosted with lots of care. - Sisi Place is the definition of a hidden gem. Harshani and her family have built a wonderful guest house and garden with so many comfortable amenities and thoughtful details. Everything is exceptionally clean. There‘s lots of storage room, various sitting areas, a large stylish bathroom, an outdoor shower… it‘s quiet and serene, but you still have easy access to buses and tuktuks to move around. I also got breakfast and dinner every day, and those were easily amongst the best Sri Lankan meals I had. Harshani is a fantastic host and cook! The beach is just steps away, and you end up right at the good spot for surf and swimming. A good surf school and board rental is available too. I can‘t wait to be back! Nothing, perfect experience.
• Oliver (10/5): - We had the best time at Sisi place. It is right outside hiriketiya and only takes a few minutes on a tuk tuk but it’s a lot quieter and more peaceful. The house overlooks the sea and you can hear the waves which is nice. The ac is great and the room very good. We loved the space outside to relax in the sun and would highly recommend to anyone. Harshani is an amazing host, her cooking amazing, you have to get the lovely breakfast she offers and we really loved the stay!

• Julia (9/5): Schönes Guesthouse mit netter Familie und gutem Essen. - Ein schönes, familiengeführtes Guesthouse, das wir empfehlen können! Die Zimmer sind sauber und gemütlich. Das Bad liegt zwar außerhalb der Zimmer, was für uns aber kein Problem darstellte, weil wir als Familie beide Zimmer gebucht hatten und somit alleine waren. Die Hosts sind sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend – man fühlt sich willkommen und gut betreut. Wir hatten das Frühstück und das Abendessen mit gebucht und waren froh darüber, da es sehr lecker und reichhaltig war. Harshani ist eine wirklich gute Gastgeberin und hat uns noch Tipps gegeben, wie man Daal und andere Speisen zubereitet und uns von ihrer eigenen Currymischung mitgegeben. Auch unser Sohn hat sich sehr wohl gefühlt, da drei superliebe Jungs im Haushalt leben, mit denen er spielen konnte. Positiv ist auch die Nähe zum Strand Kudawella. Wir wünschen Euch noch viel Erfolg und viele nette Gäste für die Zukunft! 🇱🇰🌿 Wir hatten etwas Schwierigkeiten mit dem Geruch in den Zimmern, der wahrscheinlich von der Holzlackierung ausgeht. Und am Strand muss man absolut aufpassen, nicht von Sandfliegen gebissen zu werden. Da können die Hosts aber nichts dafür.
• clara (6/5): Not recommended, expensive and far from restaurants - Big room and clean Has no Ac that in August was really hot only with the ceiling fan. The location is ok but the place has a ramp and high steps that with luggage are a mess. No restaurants around so you have to take a tuk tuk to go and back for eating something. The price is expensive compare to other places in the area as internet is not included and sometimes is not working. Also the bathroom is outside of the bedroom that is not good as other room is sharing it. I was alone so not so bad, but when 4 people has to share it can be a problem. The owner is all the time asking if all is ok and following you, for me was so annoying. She is only interested in give you a breakfast or dinner. I finnaly accepted a breakfast no asking the price and he charged me a lot and was a simple local breakfast. Take care with this as the final price with meals and internet could be high.
• Nico (10/5): - We truly enjoyed our time here. Harshni and her family were so loving and accommodating. We had lovely conversations, and they always helped us with everything. The food was excellent, and the apartment was spacious and always clean. From the apartment, you can quickly get to Hiriketyia Beach by tuk-tuk.
• SanDiCasa (9/5): - Een heerlijke homestay op steenworp afstand van een uitgestrekt rustig strand. Perfect voor surflessen voor beginners. De eigenares was ontzettend vriendelijke en behulpzaam en verzorgde iedere ochtend een uitgebreid ontbijt. Aanrader!
• Ivaščenko (10/5): A budget-friendly and kind-hearted place with great hospitality and a convenient location. - We were really pleased with our stay overall, especially considering the very reasonable price. The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming. They truly saved us in a difficult moment — we had nowhere to stay late in the evening, and they were the only ones who picked up the phone and immediately confirmed they could host us. We were welcomed with drinks and even offered a couple of cutlets, which was a nice gesture. Although the room itself was quite small, we basically had an entire floor to ourselves, including a private bathroom and shower. The location is also very good — it took no more than 10 minutes to walk to the beach. The main downside was the lack of air conditioning in our room. There was a fan, but it didn’t fully replace the comfort of A/C.

• Rosey (9/5): Memorable and a happy stay… highly recommend - We had the entire front upstairs area and massive balcony with a sea breeze and view of the ocean. Sisira and Harshani with their delightful family are incredibly accommodating, generous warm people. Harshani’s food is authentic, plentiful, delicious and made with love. The location is outstanding, a walk down the driveway and across the road you’ll find the access to Kudawella beach. The beach has an amazing ambiance with overhanging shade trees and shallow water perfect for toddlers and small children. The surf up past the beach bungalow cafe is beginner friendly, and out the back is an intermediate wave that will keep you happy all day. No crowds here, and a big long beach. A quiet walk around the village streets you will find Calm Beach, another very quiet gem and with a swing for children and a small bar selling cold beers. To sum it up this place would be great for small families and for 1 or 2 couples.

The view from the bedroom and terrace where you can see the beach was just stunning. They also offer breakfast and dinner and both were delicious.

Its the perfect spot if you want to surf away from the busy bay at hirekitiya you can rent boards from Calma or kudawella surf school and get lessons there,
• Smilla (9/5): Friendly host close to the beach - The hosts were extremely friendly and attentive. The location is great if you like to surf and be at the beach. You have a little terrace for yourself. We slept good. The bed is comfy and the general vibe is nice. The main stairs are very very steep so maybe not for small kids or elderly.

• Anna (10/5): I recommend this beautiful and loving stay to everyone! - We had a wonderful time with this very nice, polite family! You feel the love and served with great pleasure. Everything was clean and good. The beach is super close. You can see and hear the sea from your bed when you wake up, it's wonderful to wake up like this. This beach is not yet well known among tourists. Beautiful quiet beach and good waves to surf (almost) all for yourself. We recommend this stay to everyone! This stay deserves 10 points out of 10!
