Guest Reviews
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Great area Need air conditioning in room with double bed. Way to hot
- Maurap (9/5): Superb - Japanese style, wonderful! Spacious rooms, futon availables for a lovely atmosphere! The bathroom Is niice and confortabile.
- Tuvshinzaya (8/5): Very good - Very nice location for exploring Tokyo landmarks — easy access to transport and popular spots. The house had everything we needed for a short stay. It was well-equipped and comfortable.
The host was very helpful and responsive throughout our visit. The AC worked well (which was important in the summer!), the bath and kitchen had all the necessary utensils. Overall, a smooth and pleasant experience. The stairs to the second-floor bedrooms are quite steep, so it may not be ideal for elderly guests or those with mobility issues. Overall house is very nice and clean only sofa needs an update. While the area feels calm overall, it's still fairly close to main roads so leaving window open at night for fresh air turned out to be a bit of a mistake — a very loud motorbike passed by a few times, which disturbed our sleep.
- Tangiwai (8/5): Would stay again - The experience Pillows on the bed
- Paweł (10/5): Great Japanese experience - Great experience in a traditional Japanese house. It wasn't big, but it was comfortable. Especially shoji in all windows and tatami room were making a great atmosphere. The owner was nice and helpful. House was very close to a metro station. It's not a fault, but a few cups for tea would be nice.
- Rebecca (8/5): Very good -
- Clayton (10/5): Kiba House January - The Kiba House was very homey and comfortable. It's very small and feels very authentic. Perfect for a group of 4 or less. The house stays warm on cold winter nights and there's a very useful user's guide on the coffee table. The floor in the kitchen has a cooler you probably should stand on. I think one more chair or sitting pads would be nice in the living room.
- Poh (8/5): Very good - The room is with clean and its 5mins walk from train station. Convenience stores are nearby too. Easy to check-in with video Abit expensive. The stairs are narrow, not able to bring big luggages up.
- Jaakko (8/5): Very good -
- Doris (8/5): Very good - Good location near Metro. Very clean.
- Chindanai (9/5): I'm happy with my stay regardless of the flaws. - Host was very responsive and friendly, always responding very swiftly and clearly.
The place was only 180m from the station which was very good in terms of location. There is also Ito Yokado nearby and Family mart within few steps of the house, which made it amazing for finding cooking ingredients or grabbing a few drinks from the convenient store
The shower and bath was clean and amazing, the heating worked amazingly well. The lighting system is also superb.
Most of the important areas are clean AND the place provided all the cleaning materials you would ever need including toilet paper and napkins.
The bed and futon was both at great condition. Although the futon was a bit better at the place we last stay, it's still very comfy.
The house manual was provided to help tell us what to do or not to do in the house.
There are trash cans for separating things and all in all if you're looking at a more "traditional" Japanese home to stay, this is your place, you need time to clean though for a long stay. No place is perfect so this is nitpicking at it's best, only small minor things.
The kitchen is a bit small so don't expect to be able to cook much. There isn't a rice cooker, and we had to buy a new knife to be able to cook. The pots were not clean when we arrived (a little mold in there) so we ended up not cooking much.
There isn't daily cleaning provided, (or any provided at all except for before we arrive, considering we're staying for 15 nights, at least once or twice would be really helpful).
When we arrived there was serveral spider webs and we killed over 3 spiders during our stay.
Wifi is not stable and sometimes doesn't work at all, but it resolves after a while. It seems the internet connection is from a sim to wifi, so that's one downside.
As a bit of a large person, it's a bit small, but this is expected of a Japanese home.
